--"So that's pretty much what happened..."-- I said as I crossed my arm's, lowering my head because a blush crept out my cheeks.

--"That's... wonderful news. I wish you two the best."-- Gaara said while resting his arms on his knees, staring at the ground, but it seemed he remembered something....and....smiled...

Neji then got up from his position next to me and didn't say anything...

I was about to stand up and go after him until he stopped walking and told me, --"Don't. Just....stay there....ok?"-- his tone of voice changed....he was suddenly cold.... what's going on?....

--"Fine."-- I bluntly mumbled under my breath as I sat down again. But this time I was hugging my knees together and tucking my head in between them. --"Jerk..."-- I thought as I heard his footsteps slowly start to disappear until I heard absolutely nothing.

--"He's like that from time to time. Don't let that affect you."-- Gaara told me with a caring tone of voice.

I loosened the grip around my legs and replied with a simple...--"Ok"--

×Neji's POV×

--"Crap...who is this person!? And now, of all times..."-- I thought to myself while silently walking out of the wooden cabin, and heading towards a Sakura tree not to far away.

--"I got your message. What's the matter?"-- I asked the slim figure that was hiding behind the tree at that moment.

--"Neji...."-- Kanu said gripping her collar lightly with her right hand while clenching a picture with the other.

--"Kanu? It was.....you...."-- I said oblivious...she wrote those awful things, is this really her?...

~×{Flashback}×~

A strange bird sat on my shoulder while I was running with Tenten towards our meeting location with Gaara and the others.

The bird had an envelope on its back, I quickly took it without Tenten noticing.

I opened it quickly and read it....

Dear Neji,

I don't know if you remember the times we shared as kids. I don't know if you remember the long walks and the sweet 'goodnights' you gave me. But I do remember well that I developed strong emotions towards you....and to see you with....that whore...that slut...that bitch who doesn't love you like I do, take you away from me...just makes my heart shatter.

I heard you got Lord Hiashi's blessing to marry her...

But don't worry, I'll get her out of the way. I can simply kill her. Or, if you don't want any violent measures taking place...you can simply just forget her and come with me...

I'll be waiting outside the cabin you're supposed to stop at.

--"Who else could it be...Neji..."-- she giggled while placing a strand of her hair behind her ear.

I kept my distance.

--"You shouldn't be doing this. Think this through, Kanu."-- I suggested. But she shook her head in denial.

--"No Neji, I've already thought about it. I want you~....and I'll do anything to get what I want."-- she stated approaching me with a bloodthirsty expression.

--"She was never like this...her eye's show bloodthirst. She's willing to kill anyone at this point. I know that look.... because I once had it too..."-- I thought while frowning. Walking up to her steadily.

She stopped in front of me with a mischievous smirk.

--"Kanu, I'm truly sorry but--"--

--"Ahh, ahh, ahh. Stop right there. Remember, I've got the upper hand. You simply have to follow orders."-- she said while handing me the picture she was holding on to.

I yanked it from her hand, which made her flash me a fake smile.

As I looked at the picture, I couldn't believe my eyes.

--"Ha-Hana..."--

--"Hanabi."-- she finished the name I was trying to say.

That was it. She went to far. I squinted my eyes towards the picture of my little cousin tied up to a tree.

--"You wouldn't hurt her."-- I said as I started crumbling the picture and tossing it away.

--"Try me."-- she seductively said, placing her middle finger onto the tip of my shoulder, and tracing it down to my chest.

I took her hand and lowered it away from me.

--"Someone's aggressive..."-- she said with a giggle.

--"You've gone mad."-- I told her while taking a tranquilizer out of my back pocket. She swiftly looked at what I was doing and bumped her chest area onto the arm I had behind my back. --"I wouldn't do that if I were you. I've got accomplices. Don't push your luck."-- she said while cupping my cheek, leaving a disgusting mark if her red lipstick at my jawline.

--"She's got Hanabi...she won't hesitate on killing Tenten...dammit! What do I do!?"-- I froze.

--"I'll let you think. Don't do anything reckless. Meet me here for the next five days at midnight. Bye...my love."-- those were her last words before disappearing to thin air.

I walked back to the cabin. Not thinking on anything else but the situation at hand.

I slammed the main door open, earning a yell from Ino and The Kazekage's lover... I don't remember her name right now.

--"Neji!? What the hell!"-- Ino shouted.

--"You could've alerted near by enemies about our location!"-- Gaara's girlfriend added.

--"I don't care."-- was all I said as I walked up to my room.

Ino was about to walk up to me but Gaara took her wrist.

--"Leave him alone."-- he told her sighing.

I noticed the confusion on Tenten's eyes.... I can't tell her.... she's in danger...and it's all because of me.

I went to my room and shut the door. Went to sleep, not giving reality a second thought.

I then heard whimpers coming from a corner of the room. I looked at the clock placed on the night stand besides me. --"2:00 am...."--

I sat up and slightly groaned. Placing my hand over my forehead. --"What's going on...the curse mark suddenly activated...."--

It then stopped. The pain went away.

I quickly got up and narrowed my eye's to the brown haired girl sitting there sobbing.

--"Tenten?"-- I said getting close to her.

--"Why did you....why did you do that Neji?...."-- she barely managed to say.

--"Do what?"-- I asked her oblivious.

She then looked at me, eye wide.

--"Lipstick. Jawline."-- she only needed to say those two words for me to understand what she meant.

--"For the love of God....this day can't get any worse!?"-- I thought smudging the stain on my jawline. But I only made it worse...now it looked like if it were a huge bruise.

--"Tenten, this isn't--"--

--"No Neji.... it's ok....I know....you didn't want to make it...official..."--
