We continue where we left off. All Might and Rico were helping Izuku figure out his quirk. They learned that Izuku could produce large amounts of force that he can propel objects in a single or multiple directions at once.

They also learned, that Izuku could cancel out forces. Let's say, someone were to punch him, he could willingly cancel out the force on that punch, meaning it had no effect.

While Izuku could use the forces he produced on objects outside of his body, he could also use it on himself. Allowing him to jump, and even fly short distances.

While this is impressive they did find a limit. Quirks can very easily be described as muscles, and if you over work a muscle it becomes sore. Well if Izuku were to use his quirk too much, it could tear muscles apart and even crack his bones.

The same thing would happen if he were to use to much force at once, with more immediate effects.

So to summarise, Izuku's quirk was much like All Mights, except All Might could only change the magnitude of forces. Izuku could produce them on a whim, and even cancel out them entirely. Though they quickly found out, gravity was the only exception to this rule.

Once they got that figured out, Rico wanted them to do something.

"Well, now we know what your quirk can do. Let's see if you can put into practice".

"And, how are we gonna do that?" Izuku asked cautiously. You never know what to expect from you this guy.

"We're gonna spar, obviously". He replied as he started taking his shirt of, revealing his built form.

"W-what are you d-doing?" Izuku asked, sputtering on his words.

"Well it's about to get hot in here... and I don't mean in the kinky way"

'You're argument isn't very compelling'

"Well, I can't be the only shirtless one. Come on now, and you don't have to be embarrassed. I've seen it all"

'Somehow that doesn't surprise me'

Izuku took off his shirt, while Rico was tying his hair back into a ponytail. Revealing a fairly large vertical scar just in front of his left ear.

Izuku couldn't help but look at it. Rico noticed the staring and realised what he was staring at.
He placed a finger on it, "nasty, isn't it?", he said with his usual mannerisms, but noticeably more shaky.

"How did you get it?" Izuku asked, genuinely curious.

Rico's face became more sullen. "I'd rather not talk about it, if that's alright with you", he said bluntly, without his usual playful tone.

Izuku was a little surprised. This was the first time he acted like this about anything. Like he wasn't playing some elaborate joke. What ever he was showing right now, it was genuine. It was obviously not a good memory, so Izuku didn't pry any further.

"Besides, it's ancient history now. Let's just focus on your training, how about that?" His mannerisms returning to normal.

All Might saw the scar. And remembered seeing it the first time. He didn't hear the story from Rico himself, but rather his teacher. All Might was definitely disgusted by its origins.

Walking along the streets of Musutafu, was a girl named Mina Ashido. She was unusual, even for this superhuman society. Her skin had a pink hue, that almost matched her pink hair. She had two small horns protruding from the top of her head. And her sclera were black.

She had heard that a beach in the area, that used to be a junkyard, was somehow cleaned. Eyewitnesses said they saw a green haired boy with a skinny blonde man there cleaning it. That and none of the heroes took the credit for it.

And while she would like to fantasise who did it. She didn't really care, she just wanted to see the beach, since it used to be very popular.

She walked to the entrance of the beach to find it had indeed been cleaned. She could see it. The beautiful coastline and the perfect white sand. It looked like something you'd see on TV, she couldn't quite believe it.

Her excitable nature took over, she rushed down the stairs leading to the beach. She didn't bring a swimsuit, but dipping her feet in the ocean would be good enough. She came all the way here, no way she was going to leave without giving it a go.

But she slipped on a step. It had been raining this morning, and it must have left a few puddles. Instincts took over, she closed her eyes, and put her arms out, hoping it would break her fall.

But the fall never happened. She was caught in something that felt sturdy, but at the same time surprisingly comfortable. She opened an eye to see, someone had caught her, and was now carrying her like a newly wedded bride.

A guy had caught her, she looked to his face and saw a fairly plain looking face. But at the same time she thought he looked cute. And then she noticed something, which caused her to blush lilac.

Said guy, was shirtless and totally ripped.

"Hey, you alright there? Are you sick or something?"

'And he's dense. Fantastic' she snarked.

"Hey Izuku, you didn't tell me we were playing 'catch the cutie'" a masculine voice said.

She looked to the voice's general direction, and saw another shirtless guy, who was equally if not more ripped than the first.

'Where are these guys coming from?' She thought as her blush grew deeper.

"I wasn't playing anything, I just..."

"Saw a hot chick, and decided to pick her up. You do know the phrase 'picking up hot chicks' isn't supposed to be taken literally?" The second guy cut of the first.

"Umm, you can put me down now" Mina said while still blushing.

"Oh, sure" he put her down, "sorry about that, I saw you were about to fall, and I wanted to help".

"No worries, thanks for that by the way. Oh yeah, I'm Mina, Mina Ashido" she said with a smile that made Izuku blush a little.

"O-oh, my n-name's I-Izuku M-Midoriya.
N-nice to m-meet you", Izuku stuttered out.

Mina giggles at the stuttering, something that didn't help Izuku's blush.

"Now isn't this adorable. Love at first sight is truly a wondrous thing, don't you agree?" Rico said in his usual snarky tone.

This caused both Izuku and Mina's eyes to widen. And their blushes to deepen.

"Hioni, please don't joke like that". Izuku pleaded.

"Who said I was joking?" Rico teased.

"Uhh, anyway... I didn't catch your name" Mina spoke up, referring to Rico.

"Oh, it's Rico Hioni. You're not saying much about what I just said, is there a reason for that?" Rico asked, obviously implying something.

"I-it's nothing. I just knew you were teasing us, that's why" Mina responded.

"Hmmm, I let it slide... for now" Rico said, looking for signs that she may be lying.

Mina sighed a breath of relief while Izuku was going on a muttering spree. She looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "is he always like this?"

"That guy over thinks things regularly, then spews his thoughts out like that. So yes, this is a common occurrence".

Izuku then stopped muttering, "did you guys say something?"

"No don't mind us, just keep at the thing that scares away all the girls in your life" Rico answered.

"H-hey"

"It's the truth, I was honestly weirded out by it. And I've seen some weird shit".

Mina chuckled lightly at the two, their interactions were pretty funny. But then she was reminded of something.

"Can I ask you guys a question?"

Rico turned to her, "you just did, sweetheart"

Mina groaned in annoyance. Yes, she was one to use that joke, but to have it used in her. She guessed she dug her own grave with that one.

"Yeah anyway, why are you guys shirtless?" She asked.

"Oh we were training, and we didn't want to over heat". Izuku responded.

"Training?"

"Yeah, the UA entrance exam is in less than a month. He's planning to go there and I'm helping him out". Rico said, referring to Izuku.

"Really? I wanna go there too" Mina said excitedly.

"What kid in their right mind wouldn't?" Rico asked.

"Well, some are intimidated by it. And think they can't get in because of their quirks" Izuku answered his question.

"Wait Hioni, aren't you going there?" Mina asked.

"Hmm, Oh I'm getting a recommendation" Rico answered.

This surprised both of them.

"Huh?" They said in unison.

"Yeah... I met up with All Might once. He liked me enough to give me a recommendation" he answered.

This was news to Izuku. Why didn't he mention this before? And why would All Might give him a recommendation?

"Woah, You met All Might, and he's giving you a recommendation. You must be good" Mina responded excitedly.

"Yeah, he must have seen the natural born hero in me" Rico said with a hint of sarcasm. Seeing the confused look on Izuku, he gave him a look that said 'I'll explain later'.

The three continued to talk after that, and Mina did eventually dip her feet into the water. They exchanged phone numbers, and said there goodbyes.

After Mina left, Izuku turned to Rico. Rico knowing full well what he wanted, started talking, "ok, so about that recommendation. I didn't just come to Musutafu just because I wanted to go sightseeing. There's something personal I need to deal with, and the only way I can do that, is to go to UA. So I talked to Toshinori about it, and he said he could give it to me. And plus he wants me there for something I'm not allowed to tell you just yet. But let's just say, it's the reason I've been reluctant to talk about my quirk in detail".

Izuku took it all in, "so you can here for a reason of your own".

"Yeah, don't ask about it. Like I said, it's personal".

"That's fine. But why does All Might need you?"

"Like I said, I can't tell you yet".

"Is there anything you can tell me?"

"Look Izuku, you may be a disciple now, but there's a lot of things you need to understand first. We're not just extremely strong people. We have secrets, and right now, you're not ready for them. You've only been a disciple for two days".

Izuku was taken aback a little. As it turns out, Rico isn't just jokes and teasing. He has a genuine character, which he hides with this act. But that begged the question, why did he need to hide himself?

Izuku didn't argue with Rico. He hasn't known Rico for long, but he knew he's been a disciple for much longer than himself. He knew what he was talking about when it came to being one. For the most part anyway.

They continued their training, and after a while decided to call it a day. They grabbed their shirts, and went their separate ways.

So Mina's finally here, yay. I get to write with her again. She's always fun to write.

And, we're starting to see a bit of the real Rico. Yes, he isn't here for comic relief. I do have a story for him, already planned out.

In fact, I'm planning on making a little side story, about his origins. But that's going to come a bit later.
