It's 2,118 my name is Kailani Sands and the sea is my home. 

It's not a joke, 1 million people live here too.

You may be wondering how did this happen, why did we end here and how is it possible for us to survive. 

Well that's a very interesting story, it's called "The Fishman Day" and it begins here:

It was 2,031. The war had divided the countries and the natural disasters ended with complete cities. New diseases appeared and people started to die faster than what they ever expected. Some tried to go to the space, but the atmosphere was too contaminated that any spaceship could left the earth without being destroyed. 

Day and night, the richest and most intelligent people tried to find a solution for their problem. But nothing worked out, until, one day, an old lady proposed the craziest idea in the world.

"Everywhere we go, life is extinct. We have no home, so what would happened if we move to the Sea? " 

Instead of helping, that question only brought laughs and the disagreement of a lot of people. It was impossible to live under the Sea! It was a dark cemetery of animals, filled with tons of plastic, useless garbage and toxic waste. Definitely not even an option.

However, time was running out of their hands and no one could find any other solution. Suddenly, they knew there was no other chance to stay alive on Earth, maybe that old lady wasn't out of her mind, maybe she was right about the Sea, maybe they could live there, because either way, they would all die. So they began their plan and they called it "The Fishmen Day".

All teenagers and kids of all over the world were recluted and sent to the N&C Center. In this place, many scientists trained them for the biggest project of all their lives. First, they were analyzed, in case that they weren't strong enough for the experiment. Later, scientists injected them a powerful virus that would attack their immunological system and probably, would kill them in a split second. Once they were ready, and if everything worked correctly, they'd would go to a huge building under water, that the experts designed due to the water conditions, where they'd faced the next part of the plan. 

From the 450 thousand teens and children, only the 10% survived. Sadly, once they moved to the building, less than the half stayed alive. 

The rest of the story is easy to tell. When the last man on Earth died, these kids had to continue with the experiment trying to build more cities for future generations. 

Their responsibility was to create more life under water. 

 They called themselves The Fishmen. 

Who would ever imagined that the place that people hated the most, could be the one that saved them from the extinction? That the ocean would become our best friend? 

If they had only took care about it before, we wouldn't live in a plastic bubble. Because, even though we are saved, we still live in a garbage can. 

Some things never change.
