Untitled Part 1
"You know the thing about a shark? It's got these black lifeless eyes, black eyes like a doll's eyes. And when it comes at you, doesn't seem to be livin' until it bites you, and those black lifeless eyes roll over white. And then you here the high pitched hollering and the screaming, as they come in and... rip ya to pieces." – Quint from Jaws
The Loud family was startled when one of its members, Luna Loud barged in the front door holding a fishing pole, a tackle box, and wearing a grey fisherman's hat.
"Hey family!" Luna announced. "Who wants to go fishing?!?!"
Her oldest sister Lori rolled her eyes. "Ugh, since when do you like fishing? I thought you literally didn't care about anything that didn't have to do with Rock and Roll."
"Uh ok ouch." Said Luna. "And if you really wanted to know. I entered a fishing contest who's grand prize is life time back stage tickets to Mcswagger!"
"Of course you did." Said Lori.
"Well I care about you guys." Luna pointed out. "Otherwise I wouldn't have asked if anyone wants to come. Though unfortunately the boat only has room for four people including myself so..."
"Boat?" Asked Lori. "What boat?"
"Oh yeah, they give you a boat when you enter the contest." Luna explained. "But I have to return it when I'm done. So who wants to go fishing with me?"
"Hard pass." Said Lori.
"Oh." Luna frowned.
"I'd love to go fishing with you!" Luna's second eldest sister, Leni chimed in, with a beaming smile.
"Ok Great!" Luna exclaimed.
"But I can't." Leni's smile faded. "I promised some friends I'd meet them at the mall."
"What about you Lana?" Luna said to one of her younger sisters. "I know you like to play around with the worms."
"Oh I would love to go." Said Lana. "But unfortunately I was already going to go camping with some friends."
"I'll go with you!" Luna's younger, and only brother, Lincoln chimed in. "A boat ride sounds nice."
"Count me in!" Said her younger sister, and roommate Luan. "Maybe I can use this opportunity to come up with some nautical themed jokes."
"I'll be going as well." Said one of the youngest girls in the family, Lisa. "This gives me the perfect opportunity to study the echo systems of the nearby lakes."
"Oh it's not exactly nearby." Said Luna a little awkwardly. "It's uh... the contest is in Lake Michigan."
"Even better." Said Lisa.
"Lake Michigan?" Said Lori. "How do you expect to get to Lake Michigan?"
"I was kind of hoping you could drive me." Said Luna with a nervous smile.
Lori rolled her eyes. "Alright fine."
...
Lori drove four of her siblings to Lake Michigan.
Soon the song "Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flats came on the radio.
"Hey I love this song!" Said Lincoln. "It's from that Cars movie."
"LIFE IS A HIGHWAY I WANNA DRIVE IT! ALL NIGHT LONG." Lincoln started singing to the song. Soon all the siblings, even Lori started to sing along to the song. (Kind of badly too)
The siblings sang and laughed as they drove past buildings and trees. Along the wide open highways.
After a while the radio lost its signal and turned to static.
"Well that was fun while it lasted." Said Lori turning off the radio.
They all sat in silence for a few seconds.
"Say Luna." Lori said.
"Yeah sis?"
"You sure you don't have room for one more on that boat?"
Luna smiled. "You wanna come?"
"Sure." Said Lori. "Could be fun. I'm sorry I acted so crabby before."
"Well it wasn't exactly fair of me to come up with this fishing trip out of the blue like this." Luna apologized.
Then Luna took out her guitar, and started to lightly strum it. She then sang a surprisingly mellow song.
"Farwell and adue to you fair Spanish ladies." Luna sang. "Farwell and adue you ladies in spain. For we got orders to sail back to Boston. Oh never more will we see you again."
"That was a nice song Luna." Said Lincoln.
"Thanks bro." said Luna. "I heard it in a movie."
"Jaws." Lincoln pointed out. "That song was from Jaws."
...
The crew made it to a small lake side town called Amity, where the contest was being held.
"So this is the boat?" Said Lori as they beheld the medium sized fishing boat before them. The boat was very old, with a red and black color scheme. It had a sign on the back that said "Oprah".
"Does this boat belong to Oprah Winfrey?" Luan asked.
"I think that's the name of the boat." Said Luna. "Well let's get in I guess." They all hopped in the boat.
"Seems to float just fine." Said Lori.
"Yes." Said Luan sneaking up behind Lori. "They all float down here."
Lori shot Luan an irritated look.
"Sorry"
"Well I got the keys right here" Said Luna pulling out some keys from her pocket. "I brought a cooler full of food and drinks, that should last us a few days."
"Wait a few DAYS!" Said Lori.
"And we're off." Said Luna starting the engine and sailing into the horizon. "Back stage Mcswagger tickets here we come!"
...
The shoreline disappeared as the boat sailed further and further away.
Luna stood proudly at the bow of the boat. She threw her arms to her side, lifted her head to the heavens and sang out "I'M ON A BOAT MOTHA...."
She was interrupted by the loud "BUUUUUURRRRRRRRR" Of the boat's horn.
"Sorry" Luan giggled from the cockpit of the boat, her hand on the lever to activate the horn. "I don't mean to toot my own horn. Ha ha, get it?"
Lincoln sat in the back of the boat playing cards with Lori. "You got any 3s?"
"Nope" Said Lori.
"Looks like you have to GO FISH!" Luan interrupted. "Get it? Because we're fishing."
Lincoln and Lori groaned and rolled their eyes.
"Hey linc." Said Luna. "Can you do me a favor?"
"Sure what is it?" Said Lincoln.
Then Luna took out a bucket of chopped up fish guts, soaked in blood. "Can you throw this over the side of the boat for me bro? Thanks."
"What the heck is that?" Said Lincoln holding his nose and almost gagging.
"It's called chum." Said Luna. "It attracts the fish."
Lincoln took the bucket with a grossed out look. "Gee." He said. "no wonder the chum bucket is the least popular restaurant in Bikini Bottom."
...
Lincoln shoveled the chum into the water.
As he was shoveling the putrid mix, he saw something that made his heart skip a beat. Some huge creature poked its head out of the water. Its dark grey head was bigger than Lincoln's entire body, and its eyes were black and lifeless.
Just as soon as it appeared, it then disappeared beneath the waves.
Lincoln backed away from the edge, and below deck were Luna was.
"I think we're gonna need a bigger boat." Lincoln said.
"Why?" Said Luna. "You see something bro?"
"Th-th-th..." Lincoln started. "Some kind of m-monster"
"A monster?" Luna raised an eyebrow. "What did it look like?"
"It was big and scary." Said Lincoln.
"Think you can be a little more specific bro."
Lincoln shook his head.
"What's going on in here?" Lori asked.
"Lincoln says he saw a monster." Luna explained.
"A monster?" Lori raised an eyebrow. "I think Lincoln's imagination is just getting the best of him."
"Well monster is a relative term." Said Lisa. "A common house cat would be a monster from the point of view of a mouse. I'm sure Lincoln just saw a big fish or a turtle."
"Well whatever it is." Said Luna. "Maybe it'll be big enough to help me win this contest, and get those tickets." She picked up her fishing pole, and went outside.
She sat in a chair and casted her line into the vast waves.
...
Luan sat at the bow of the boat staring off into the waves.
A shocked look appeared on Luan's face as she saw a triangular shape gliding across the surface of the water.
"GUYS GUYS!" Luan shrieked as she ran to the back deck of the boat.
"What?" Said the rest of the siblings.
"I saw it!" Luan yelled. "I saw Lincoln's monster!"
"You did?" Said Lori.
"I...I.. I saw a fin!" Luan exclaimed. "Like... like a shark fin!"
"A shark fin?" Lori sighed.
"This is a fresh water lake dude." Said Luna.
"Maybe it was a bull shark." Lisa suggested. "They have been known to travel to fresh water. And there HAS been one case of a great white traveling into fresh water. However the odds of that are extremely slim. It's more likely that you saw a tree branch or something sticking out of the water, and your imagination perceived it as a shark fin."
"Well if I catch a great white shark I'll win for sure!" Luna exclaimed. "How big do those get again?"
"Well..." Said Lisa. "The average size of Carcharadon carcharious, street name, great white shark is about 15 feet. However some specimens have been known to grow up to 20 feet or more."
"And the one in Jaws was like 25 feet." Lincoln added.
"Well that was just a movie." Said Lisa.
"Either way it's a big fish dudes." Luna said.
"but it is very unlikely to find one here." Lisa pointed out. "If it is a shark, it's more likely the Carcharhinus leucas street name, bull shark."
"How big do those get?"
"About 7 to 11 feet."
"Not quite the monstrous great white, but I'll take it." Then Luna got a bite. "Oh looks like we got our shark!"
"It ain't a shark" Said Lisa. As Luna's line started to quickly unravel from the rod and real. "Could be a musky, or maybe a sturgeon, but it's not a shark."
Luna pulled against the line fighting the creature below the waves. "He's either very smart or very dumb." Luna said.
Suddenly the line relaxed, and the group fell silent.
"He's gone under the boat." Said Luna. "I think he's gone under the boat!"
Just then the line went tight and snapped.
Luna looked over the side of the boat.
"See anything?" Lincoln asked.
"That's a negative bro." said Luna staring into the dark crushing abyss. "Hey Lincoln. Think you could climb up in the crow's nest and see if you can see anything?"
Lincoln looked up at the crow's nest, high above the deck. "I uh... that seems kind of high."
"Will you just get up there!" Luna snapped.
The others gave her a shocked look.
"What?" Said Luna in a bitter voice.
"Ok I'll just go up there then." Said Lincoln.
He slowly climbed the latter up to the crow's nest. He looked down and gulped. "Man that's a long way down."
"What's the hold up?" He heard Luna call up to him.
He continued to climb. He reached the top and looked down. "I don't see anything!" He yelled back down.
Then he saw it. A HUGE grey figure swam out from under the boat. The beast was at almost the size of the entire boat. Its skin was smooth, it had a torpedo shape and a large fin on its back that stuck out of the water.
"I see it!'" he yelled "That's definitely a shark!"
The others saw it too.
"Cacharadon Carcarious!" Lisa yelled. "How is this even possible?"
"You know." Said Luna. "it would be much easier if you just said Great White. No one understands you when you use those big science words dude! Why don't you just talk like a normal person? You're four for crying out loud!"
"I...I'm sorry I." Lisa stammered.
Lori put a hand on Luna's shoulder. "Don't you have a fish to catch?"
"That I do." Said Luna. She then went below deck, and came back up with a spear gun.
"That's it Luna." Said Luan. "Really stick it to em' ha ha get it?"
Luna made her way to the front of the boat. There, there was a line of large yellow barrels filled with air. She tied one end of a rope to one of the barrels, and the other to the spear gun.
Meanwhile Lincoln tried to keep his balance as the crow's nest rocked back and forth.
"Whoa!" He yelled. His face started to turn green. He leaned over the side and puked.
Lori shrieked as she narrowly avoided the vomit falling from the sky.
Lisa quickly tied a tracking device on the barrel the rope was tied to.
Luna aimed her spear gun at the shark, and pulled the trigger. The spear struck the shark in the dorsal fin. As the shark swam away the barrel flew off of the boat and into the water.
The barrel was pulled under the water with ease.
They heard Lincoln scream as he fell from the crow's nest and landed on the deck with a thud.
"LINCOLN!!!!" Lori screamed, as she ran to her little brother. "Are you ok?"
Lori helped Lincoln sit up. His face had turned green, his head was swaying back and forth, and his eyes were pointing away from each other. "Call me Ishmale." He said, then he blacked out.
...
Later the girl's had gotten Lincoln to return to consciousness. They were sitting below deck. It was a rather nice room below deck, a table was set up, with a red leather bench surrounding it, like a nice booth at a fancy restaurant. There were windows so they could see out into the horizon as the sun set, filling the sky with shades of reds, oranges and yellows, that eventually faded into the blackness of the night sky.
Lincoln sipped on a glass of water. His face was a pale shade of green and he still felt nauseous.
"You gonna be ok Linky?" Lori asked.
"I think so." Said Lincoln.
"Luna what were you thinking having Lincoln go up there." Lori scolded. "He could have gotten seriously hurt!"
Luna starred at the table with a look of guilt.
"Guys it's ok." Said Lincoln. "I'm not helpless, I don't need to be protected like some precious little child."
"I really am sorry Linc'" Luna apologized. "I shouldn't have made you do that."
"No don't be." Said Lincoln, feeling much more awake now. "I can totally handle this kind of stuff. If anyone here needs to be looked after it's Lisa."
"Excuse me?" Said Lisa. "What exactly is that supposed to mean?"
"Well." Said Lincoln. "I mean you're only four years old. You guys treat me like a baby sometimes, it's like you forget, I'm the MIDDLE child, not the youngest. The MIDDLE!"
The room was silent or a moment.
"Hey I know what can cheer us up!' Said Luna whipping out her guitar. "How about a song?"
No one said anything.
"Oh come on guys." Said Luna, then she thought for a moment of what song to sing.
"Show me the way to go home." Luna started to sing.
"I'm tired and I wanna got to bed." Lori said. "Like seriously, I'm tired and I wanna go to bed." Lori then got up and left the table.
"I had a little drink about an hour ago." Lincoln started to sing. "And it's getting right to my head."
"Wherever I may roam." Luan joined in.
"By land or see or foam." Luna sang.
"You will always here me singing this song!" Luna, Luan, and Lincoln sang together. "Show me the way to go home. Bom bom bom. I'm tiered and I wanna go to bed. I had a little drink about an hour ago, and it's getting right to my head!"
"GUYS! I'M TRYING TO SLEEP!" Lori yelled from her bedroom.
Then something struck the window next to Lori's bed, shattering it.
Lori screamed as lake water flooded her room.
...
Lori stormed out of her room, and slammed the door. She was soaked from head to toe in lake water, and she had sea weed in her hair. She had a look of panic on her face.
"I think we sprung a leak!" She said.
Lisa looked at her laptop. "Uh oh." She said. "It's back!"
"The shark?" Said Luna.
"I put a tracking device on the barrel you shot at it." Lisa explained. "I thought this would be a good opportunity to get some data!"
"Yeah why did you shoot a barrel at the shark anyway." Lori asked.
Luna shrugged. "That's what they did in the movie."
"You know I've never actually seen Jaws." Lisa pointed out.
"When we get home, I am showing you that movie." Lincoln announced. "Jaws is a true American classic."
Lori went above deck to see the shark circling the boat.
Lincoln went into Lori's room, and taped some plastic over the shattered window.
Luna got her spear gun, and shot another barrel into the shark.
The shark swam away pulling the two barrels under the waves.
Lincoln came above deck to see Luna calmly leaning against the front of the boat.
...
They got up the next morning.
Luna had packed some cereal for them to eat for breakfast.
"I just don't understand how a great white shark that big, could end up in fresh water." Lisa said. "This requires further research. Luckily that tracking device is giving my plenty of data."
...
A few hours later the siblings were back above deck. Luna had about ten fishing lines cast over the side of the boat, and her spear gun at the ready.
Lincoln was calmly sitting with one fishing pole, enjoying the nice day. Lisa fiddled with her lap top, studying the data from the tracking device.
Lori and Luan laid on a couple of beach towels at the front of the boat in bikini's getting a tan.
"Hey Luna!" Luan called back. "You know this has really been a GREAT trip. Ha ha get it?"
Luna heard Luan, but just continued to search the horizon with a determined look on her face.
"Hey I caught something!" Lincoln's voice came from behind Luna. She turned around to see Lincoln holding a fishing line with a large, small mouth bass on the end. The bass had to be at least a foot long, or more.
"You know I bet this will be enough to win that fishing contest." Said Lincoln. "Sure it's no 20 foot great white shark, but for a fresh water fish, it's pretty big."
"That's not good enough bro." Said Luna. "You've seen those fishing catalogs. People enter these things and catch muskys the size of a large dog! If I wanna win those tickets I gotta catch something big. I gotta catch that shark."
"Well is it really about winning?" Said Lincoln. "And it's not like the shark really did anything to us."
"Well." Lisa pointed out. "Sharks aren't exactly native to these waters. Its presence could greatly affect the ecosystem in a negative way. So it's probably best if we take care of it. And if it wins those tickets for Luna that's just a bonus."
"Well as long as none of us get hurt." Said Lincoln.
Just then the shark's fin rose from the water, followed by two yellow barrels.
Luna aimed her gun, then looked back. "Oh man we're out of barrels."
"Yeah what are those barrels supposed to do anyway?" Lincoln asked.
"The barrels are supposed to keep the shark close to the surface and tire it out." Lisa explained.
"Hmm" Lincoln went below deck.
"Will this work." Lincoln said, coming back up holding a box for an inflatable bouncy house.
"Uh maybe."
Lincoln took the play house out of the box, and started to blow it up.
"Here you go." He said as he finished, feeling a bit light headed.
Luna tied one end of a rope to the bouncy house, and the other to her spear. She shot it at the shark, and the bouncy house flew into the water and skipped along the surface before being pulled under the waves.
"Wow that is one strong fish." Said Luna.
...
Meanwhile...
The shark swam to the bottom of the lake. It swam to a set of weights. It grabbed a dumbbell with its fin and started to lift the weight up and down.
"Oh yeah I work out.' Said the shark. "A little bit every day. You don't get rockin' pectoral fins like this from sitting around doing nothin'. Hey that Lori chick is pretty hot. You think she'd be into me? She's gonna be into me, into my STOMACH, get it, because I'm a shark. Hey who am I talking too?"
...
The shark slammed into the side of the boat and knocked Lisa into the water.
"Lisa!" Everyone screamed, as Lisa struggled to stay afloat. Lori grabbed one of Luna's fishing poles and reached it towards Lisa.
"Lisa grab on!" Said Lori. Then the shark rammed the boat again, knocking Lori overboard.
Lori gasped as she came back to the surface. She swam over to Lisa. "It's ok Lisa I'm here." She assured her little sister. Lisa pulled herself onto Lori and held on tight, shivering from both cold and fear.
"Uh girls." Said Lincoln. "I think he's come back for his noon feeding."
Lori looked behind her to see the grey fin moving closer and closer.
Luna took out her guitar and played an ominous "dan dan, dan dan, dan dan,"
"Oh crap" Said Lori, as she started to swim back to the boat. Lisa held tightly to Lori.
"I don't wanna die." Lisa cried.
"It'll be ok Lisa." Lori assured her. "Just stay calm. You're a scientist, you know as well as I do, that sharks won't attack you if you stay calm."
Lincoln dipped a fishing pole into the water for Lori to grab onto.
Suddenly Lori felt something sharp stab into her leg.
"Uh oh." She said. Then Lori and Lisa were both pulled into the abyss.
"LORI! LISA! NNOOOOO!!!!!!" Lincoln screamed.
Luan rushed over. "Oh no! What do we do?" Luan panicked.
The shark rammed the boat again knocking Luan off.
"Ah guys help!" Luan yelled.
Then the shark swam straight up at Luan, clamping its teeth into her like a bear trap, as it flew out of the water, and landed with a huge splash sending a wave that soaked Lincoln and Luna.
Lincoln held his hand over his mouth.
"They're... they're gone." Said Lincoln. "I can't believe they're gone." His eyes started to fill with tears.
Luna put a hand on his shoulder "Hey it'll be ok little bro."
"No it won't!" Lincoln snapped. "We just saw our own sisters die!"
"I...I know."
"And it's all your fault."
"How is it my fault?"
"You were obsessed with winning hose tickets, and catching that shark! Now the shark has eaten our sisters!" Lincoln yelled.
"Oh I'm so sorry bro I..."
Then the shark leapt onto the back of the boat, causing it to tip, and all its contents to slide down into the water.
Lincoln managed to grab hold of a pole or something that was nailed to the ground. He managed to grab hold of Luna's hand.
"Lincoln." Luna looked up at her brother with sad eyes, then her hand slipped.
"LUNA!" Lincoln yelled as Luna slowly slid toward the hungry shark.
Luna kick at the shark as she slowly slid into its mouth.
She screamed as the shark bit down on her legs. It then opened its mouth letting her slide further down its throat.
The shark bit down again, sinking its teeth into Luna's belly.
Luna spat up a mouthful of blood as she screamed in pain.
Luna lay back on the deck motionless, with the lower half of her body in the sharks mouth.
The shark pulled Luna into the water, as she stared blankly into the sky.
Lincoln's lower jaw started to quiver, and tears rolled down his face. He climbed into the ship.
The cabin of the boat was now flooded with water.
Oh no, what do I do now? He thought.
Then the shark came crashing through the window, and swam up to Lincoln. Without thinking, Lincoln grabbed an air tank, and threw it into the shark's mouth, and the shark swam away.
Lincoln then found a hunting rifle.
"Man." He said holding the rifle. "There are a lot of dangerous weapons on this boat."
Lincoln climbed the crow's nest of the now sinking ship. "You may have eaten everyone else on this boat. But I know how this movie ends." Lincoln said.
Then he aimed the rifle at the shark, as it swam at him, chewing on the air tank like a cigar.
"Smile you son of a..." He shot and hit the tank directly. But instead of exploding the tank racketed out of the shark's mouth, into the sky. The shark turned back to see the air tank fly away, then turned back to Lincoln, giving him a crooked smile.
"Oh no!" Cried Lincoln. "THE EXPLODING TANK WAS JUST A MYTH!!!! MADE UP BY HOLLYWOOD TO GIVE THE MOVIE JAWS A MORE EXCITING ENDING! I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO MYTHBUSTERS WHO BUSTED THIS VERY MYTH DURING SHARK WEEK! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" The shark then swallowed Lincoln whole.
...
Lincoln Loud slid down the dark slimy tube that was the shark's throat, as muscles contracted, moving Lincoln further and further into darkness.
He splashed into the creatures stomach acids.
He tried to look around but he couldn't see anything. He felt around the soft fleshy slim covered tomb, not knowing what he was looking for.
His eyes started to adjust and he could see shapes in the darkness.
His hands came across a round object floating in the fluid. The top of the object was covered in hair, human hair. He continued to run his hands over it, and felt the details of someone's face, nose, eyes, ears, lips.
"ugh what's your deal bro?" Came a familiar voice from the darkness. "Quit grabbing my face dude."
"Luna?" Said Lincoln, for a moment he was filled with joy. "You're alive!"
"Ugh what... What time is it?" Luna mumbled. "Why is it so dark in here? Is it night time? Why is my bed so wet? Ugh my stomach is killing me. Feels like someone took a knife and sliced me open. My legs hurt too."
"This may sound crazy." Said Lincoln. "But we're inside the stomach of a great white shark."
"What?" Luna giggled. Then she went silent for a moment. "Oh yeah. Oh man dude this is all my fault."
Lincoln could here Luna start to sob. "I...I'm so sorry I... I just wanted those tickets so bad I..."
"No Luna." Said Lincoln bringing her head closer to him, and cuddling with her a bit. "It's not your fault. I'm... I'm sorry I yelled at you. I was just scared and..."
"No Lincoln, you were right."
"Lincoln? Is that you?" Lori's voice came from the darkness.
"Lori?"Lincoln called out.
"Lincoln?" Came Luan's voice. "I'm... I'm scared... I... I don't think I have the STOMACH for this. Ha ha get it? But seriously I'm kind of terrified."
"Is Lisa ok?" Lincoln asked.
"I have her." Lori's voice called out. "She's unconscious, but she's breathing. Barely. It's like you said Lincoln. She's only four. Her little body can't handle the fumes in here. I don't think she has long."
"I don't think any of us do." Lincoln said, stroking Luna's hair.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Luna repeated.
"Maybe we can just wait until we come out the other end." Luan suggested.
"You do realize that would literally kill us right?" Lori said. "If we 'come out the other end' that means we've been digested."
"What if we build a fire?" Lincoln suggested. "Make the shark sneeze us out."
"Lincoln." Said Lori. "Everything in here is literally soaking wet, what are we going to build a fire with."
"Besides." Said Luan. "When's the last time you sneezed out the contents of your stomach?"
"Good point." Said Lincoln.
They all sat in silence for a few moments.
"I'm so sorry." Luna repeated.
"Shh it's ok."
"Where, where are we?" Luna asked with sadness, and confusion in her voice. "Why does my stomach hurt so much?"
Lincoln was about to remind Luna what was happening. She was clearly becoming delirious, she had forgotten the entire conversation they were having. But then he thought.
We aren't getting out of here. Does she really need to know what's happening? Maybe just a few last moments of comfort.
"We're at home Luna." Lincoln lied. "You're safe in your bed. You got a little stomach flew, but you'll be fine."
"Why...why are you in my room?"
"I was just keeping you company. I just wanted to be sure my big sister was feeling ok." Lincoln ran his hand through Luna's soaking wet hair.
"That's so sweet of you, thanks. You're the best little brother ever."
"I know." Lincoln sniffed. "I know."
"Is Luan here?" Luna asked. "Luan?!?!"
Silence. Lincoln's heart sank when he realized what this empty horrible silence meant.
"She's... She's asleep." Lincoln said. "don't wake her, she's had a long day."
"Oh ok." Said Luna. "man i had the weirdest dream. We were fighting a giant shark."
Lincoln gave a small chuckle. "That's some crazy dream. But it was just a dream, it's all over now. Just try to get some sleep."
"Is there anyone out there?" Luna said softly. "Cause it's getting harder, and harder to breath." Luna then fell silent.
Lincoln sat in the dark, gooey, slimy silence. He held Luna tighter, and began to sob.
Soon his head started to feel light, and swimmy.
After sitting in the silent darkness, he soon forgot where he was.
Then he sank into the hot gooey slime, as he lost consciousness.
...
Suddenly the contents of the shark's stomach started to move. Not to the back, but to the front, out of its mouth.
Lincoln jolted awake as he slid out through the shark's throat like a water slide. Out of the dark, and into the light.
Lincoln and the four sisters that were with him, poured out of the shark's mouth, onto a dock.
"Whoa now that was unexpected!" came a strange man's voice.
Lincoln coughed and looked around him. He and his sister were piled on top of each other, moaning in pain, but they were all alive.
Lincoln looked up to see the great white shark hanging upside down, covered in blood.
"What's going on?" He asked.
He looked up to see a man standing before him.
The man had a short stocky build. He had thin white hair, and a thick white beard.
Lincoln recognized this man, though he never thought he would get the chance to meet him in person.
"Richard Dreyfuss?" He said. "What are you doing here?"
Sure enough, it was famous Hollywood actor Richard Dreyfuss.
"I'm here to announce the winner of the Amity fishing contest." Richard explained. "We found this shark tangled up dead with a bunch of ropes barrels, and a bouncy house. It was floating by the wreckage of one of our boats. One lent out to a Luna Loud."
"That's me." Luna said weakly, as she tried to get up.
"Well I would say that this shark qualifies as caught." Said Richard. "And it is much bigger than anything any of the other contestants caught. Looks like you're our grand prize winner."
A crowd of people cheered around them, as Richard Drefuss handed Luna a couple of life time backstage, Mccswagger tickets.
"Yay." Luna said in a very weak voice, as she took the tickets. "Hey look guys I won."
"Great." Lori moaned.
"You have anything to say?" Asked Richard.
"Well I couldn't have done it without my family." Luna said, giving her siblings a group hug.
"Looks like you need some medical attention." Said Richard.
"I'll be fine. We'll stop off at a hospital on the way." Said Luna, as the loud siblings limped back to their van.
"Seriously we should get you guys an ambulance!" Said Richard.
But the Loud siblings had already piled in their van and drove off.
...
The Louds were on their way home. Broken and tired.
Lori did her best to focus on the road. Luna sat in the passenger seat next to her.
Luna leaned her head against the window. Her face was pale, and she had bags under her eyes. Luna started to fall asleep.
Lincoln was trying to comfort Lisa, who was slowly recovering from breathing in the fumes of the shark's stomach.
Luan was surprisingly quiet.
"We really should see a doctor." Lori suggested.
"Can't believe that guy from Jaws was there." Said Lincoln.
"Yeah." Said Luan. "That was pretty lucky."
All of a sudden, Lincoln got a shocked look on his face.
"Guys." He said. "I just had a terrible thought."
"What is it?" Lori asked.
"What if this isn't real" Lincoln pointed out. "Like what if we're still in that shark, and our brains are coming up with this illusion to cope with the fact that we're actually slowly being digested alive!?!?"
The others all got a look of concern on their faces.
