Days became better for Lilisa. Thranduil and Legolas were done with the enemy. The remainder of the business was left to Legolas. Thranduil was grooming Legolas these days, so that he would know what to do when it was his turn to rule Mirkwood. After all, Thranduil didn't want so much responsibility anymore. He just wanted to spend his time with Lilisa.

Thranduil and Lilisa were walking together through the hallways. They took their time because they didn't want to spend anymore time apart from each other. Lilisa was happy that Thranduil's duties as a king did not interrupt them because she really just wanted to be with him.

When there walk ended, Thranduil told Lilisa when and where to meet him in a couple of hours. He had to go find Legolas, so Lilisa agreed to meet him later. Thranduil was headed to a private room that only him and Legolas knew about. When he walked into the room, closing the doors behind him, he saw Legolas sitting down on a chair waiting for him. Thranduil walked over to his son, causing Legolas to stand up from his seat.

"What was it you wanted me here for?" asked Legolas.

"I need your opinion on something." replied Thranduil.

"And what would that be for?"

Thranduil walked over to a stand that had a box on top of it. Thranduil opened the box and pulled out a small pouch. Legolas's eyes widened. He knew exactly what was in the pouch. The pouch contained his mother's wedding ring. He couldn't believe his father had the pouch in his hands. After all, Thranduil never wanted to be remember what happened to his mother.

"Ada (father), are you sure you want to do this?" asked Legolas.

Thranduil didn't give Legolas a reply right away. He looked down at the pouch and stroked it with his fingers. Then he looked back up at Legolas.

"I'm sure I want to do this." answered Thranduil.

Thranduil walked over to his son. He knew that Legolas never knew his mother and that everything that was once hers was precious to him. Thranduil knew this because he felt the same way.

"Legolas, she makes me happy. It is a similar feeling that I had with your mother. Besides, there is nothing here for me anymore, except you. And you have grown up into a strong elf." said Thranduil.

"I understand, ada (father)."

Thranduil pulled Legolas into a hug. When they were done hugging, Thranduil walked out of the room, leaving Legolas by himself. Thranduil was now going to get ready for the special evening he had planned for Lilisa. Thranduil had never met anyone who he cared about after his wife died. And now that Lilisa came into his life, he feels happy once again. So tonight was the night that Thranduil would propose to Lilisa.
