Chapter 16
Lilisa got up early in the morning, to where the sun was just coming out from behind the mountains. It was warm out and the birds were singing. Lilisa got dressed then started heading down to the stables, where she would meet up with her guards. Her horse was tacked up and her guards were ready to ride out.

Thranduil was asleep in his bedroom, when he heard a knock on his door. He got out of bed and put his robe on before he opened the door. He saw that it was one of his guards. He wasn't exactly pleased that he had woke him up early in the morning.
"What is it?" asked a tired Thranduil.
"Good morning my lord, I apologize for waking you up this early, but I wanted to check with you to make sure lady Lilisa is cleared for leaving Mirkwood." said the guard.
Thranduil's eyes became wide. She knew that Lilisa was leaving because of what happened last night. He didn't want her to leave because they still needed to talk about what happened. Thranduil told the guard to stall her while he got ready for the day.

"Alright boys, lets get going." said Lilisa.
Lilisa mounted her horse and turned in the direction of the stable doors, that would lead them outside. Lilisa gently kicked her horse into a walk, but before she could ride off, Thranduil came into the stables.
"Lilisa!" shouted Thranduil.
Lilisa stopped her horse and looked back at Thranduil. She was surprised to see him up so early. Thranduil walked over to her. He looked up at her, while she looked down at him.
"What are you doing?" asked Thranduil.
"I'm leaving, I have to get back to Lothlorien." explained Lilisa.
"Now that is funny because I thought you were leaving because of what happened last night." said Thranduil.
Lilisa looked down at her saddle and sighed. Then she looked back down at Thranduil.
"Thranduil, there is nothing to say. Everything that happened last night is complicated. Just forget about it." said Lilisa.
Before Thranduil could speak, Lilisa rode her horse out of the stables. Her guards rode with her on the path that would take them out of the forest. She was heading home and leaving everything behind her.

Thranduil was walking slowly back to his throne room. He was hurt. He couldn't believe that Lilisa left without them talking about what happened between them. He was lost and didn't know what to do. He walked up the steps to his throne room chair and sat down. He rested his head on his hand. Just then, Legolas came walking in Thranduil's direction. He stopped in front of Thranduil's throne and looked up at him.
"What is it, Legolas?" asked Thranduil.
"I hear Lilisa left, why?" shouted Legolas.
"She said she needed to return home." replied Thranduil.
"Ada (father), I think you know why I am here. I know what occurred between you two last night, so I am wondering why you are not going after her." said Legolas.
Thranduil looked down at his son. He couldn't believe Legolas said that to him.
"You're definitely more wise than I am, my son." said Thranduil.
Legolas was happy to have heard those words come from his father. But he didn't let that change the subject.
"Go get her dad." said Legolas.
Thranduil stood up from his chair and walked down the steps. He walked over to Legolas and told him to watch Mirkwood, while he was gone. Thranduil was not wasting any time. He went straight to the stables. He saddled his elk and rode out of Mirkwood with no guards. He was heading to Lothlorien to talk to Lilisa and he wasn't going to let her go.
