“Go north for awhile and you'll be able to notice when the water gets colder. Turn slightly east and you'll hit land but it'll be Alaska. You gotta go around it and it'll lead right to the Artic.” Adalyn said.

“And how do we exactly find this Ninda?” Raphael asked. “She could go back and tell Queen Severina.”

“I wouldn't send you guys somewhere that wasn't safe.” she said, scoffing. “The Arctic is like a banishment place for Mermaids who went against Queen Severina order. There isn't many of them there, maybe three. You'll be bound to see one of them and ask for her.”

Vanessa looked at the water and breathed out heavily since she never been that far out. When she ever did she would go with Adalyn and last time she got last she saved a guy from a burning yacht. She wasn't sure if she could find the location since she sucks at direction but she had to see if an older Mermaid knew anything.

“Try to get back before it gets very late.” Adalyn said. “Around that area is allot of sharks and killer whales. If you do see them, don't let them see you. If if they do stay together and swim quickly. They like Mermaids.”

“I thought we were Immortal.” James spoke up who has been very quiet.

“We stop aging, not dying from natural causes. We'll heal from an injury but do you think we can't grow body parts back?” Adalyn asked, rolling her eyes. “They'll chop your head off and there! You're done and gone.”

“We should go now.” Vanessa said. She started to turn around, “It's gonna take a moment to find her.”

“Goodluck.” Jame said

After two hours Vanessa suggested her and Raphael take a break. They found the closest land and hide behind a very high cliff next to the ocean. They lifted themselves up onto a boulder and Vanessa laid back on her back tired from all the swimming. They've been going around and around—they were lost and what's best is they don't know where they were.

She looked at Raphael who's back she stared at. His gold tail hung over the edge and the gold scales on his sides and arms shined with the sunlight on them. They shimmered but all of theirs does. She lifted herself up and wrapped her arms around his neck from behind.

“Something on your mind?” she asked him finally.

“Just thinking.” he said, bring one of his hands up and took one of hers. “Wondering if it's enough.”

Her eyebrows furrowed together, “What do you mean?”

“Land.” he said. “I think of being out here in the water at least eighteen hours. I dream of it, Vanessa. I feel more Merman than human.”

“You have allot of reason to be there though.” she reminded him. “Family and friends.”

“But I desire to be out here.” he said as he turned his head and she placed her hand on his shoulder. “We should stay out in the water for one night.”

She brushe his dark hair back and ran her hand down his russet ran cheek, “You can if you like.”

“I'm sure if James wanted to you would.” he said. She stared at him for a moment, not sure if those words really came out his mouth or not. She didn't want to believe they did because he actually sounded cold saying it. Where was this posessivness coming from?

She pulled away from him, “Are you serious?”

He shrugged, “Wouldn't you?”

“Raphael, come on.” she scoffed. “No I wouldn't. I'm just trying to help James get through this. Unlike you, he doesn't have a choice like you had. He has abilities you don't. . .”

He stared at her for a moment, his lips rolling inwards as he nodded, “You're right, I don't.”

She sighed heavily, feeling really bad for saying that because she saw how much it hurt Raphael that he didn't have powers. She sure for him it feels like James is more special and she can understand why he's becoming jealous. She just wish she could make him see she loves him not James.

She leaned over and he looked away. She wrapped her arms around him and placed her chin on his shoulder, “Raphael, I have loved you for awhile. You think my feelings would change so quickly for a guy like James? He's nice but he's not who I want. If I did I would have changed him but I didn't. Isn't my wanting to save you that night and changing you enough to realize?”

He stay quiet for a moment and only blinked. He turned his head to look at her, “I just don't wanna lose you, Vanessa.”

“Than stop doubting me and trust me.” she said. “Accusing me like this will only push me away and I don't want to be pushed away.”

“I just don't feel up to your level.” he said. Her eyebrows furrowed together confused by what he means by that. “You're a Mermaid who can do amazing things. I'm just a plain old Merman.”

“Hm, you sound like me before this all happened and I never thought I would grab your attention.” she said. “I'm the same old Vanessa and I would never think I was better than you. Have I ever made you feel that way?”

He shook his head, “No. I just want to experince everything with you. I don't see how one night is such a bad thing. Mermaids don't need to sleep for days when in the water.”

She saw how much it really was imporant for him and she did want to do something for him for once. Lately she hated to admit it has been about James. She just not sure if it was a good idea since the girls and Queen Severina out there. Maybe if they stay close to Coasta Sirenas they'll be fine. She nodded, “Alright, we can. We spend the night in the ocean together.”

He smiled at her and leaned over, kissing her. She brought her hand up to his neck and he shifted a little to face him. His hands went on her waist. She felt like it been awhile since they could just relax and talk like they did. On the large boulder not knowing where they were actually felt like they were the only two people in the world.

Raphael slipped out of her hold and he cried out. Vanessa eyes widen as she turned to face the ocean and saw him disappear in the water. She looked out into the water surface and saw Queen Severina miles away. Her body stiffen a little since it's been awhile since she saw her.

Queen Severina hand was held up in the air and her fingers closed. Vanessa looked into the water before she jumped in. She looked around the water and saw some form of water quickly move in the water like a snake and Raphael was wrapped in it.

She quickly swam as fast as she could to catch up with the water that held Raphael but it was going quickly. She held her arm out and tried 'grabbing' onto it. It only slowed down enough for her to catch up. She held her hand out towards Raphael and his arm came out. Suddenly the water snake form went down and it slammed Raphael aaginst the ocean ground. Raphael tried slipping his body out but the snake water form tighten around his waist.

Vanessa eyes widen and she swam down towards them. The water sneak head looked at her and swam towards her, it's body still holding Raphael to the ground. Her eyes widen as it's mouth open and she she gasped.

She quickly dodged it before it could swallow her up. It stopped and turned it's head. With fear she had to quickly swim away from it as it lunged. She didn't know what to do, she didn't know what this creature weakness was! It's made of water! Water can't hurt water.

She screamed when it's fang ran across her skin and she looked down to see blood coming from the small cut. The snake lunged at her and her body stiffen as she looked at it's eyes. Right when it was two inches away the snake stopped and shook a little. She didn't stop glaring at the water formed as a snake. She watched it it turned into something like clear jell-o. Realizing she did that she loosened up. The formed sneak turned back into water and it vanished.

Her eyes were wide and she wasn't sure how she just did that. She didn't even now she could do that! She looked around to find Queen Severina but she was no where to be found when Raphael swam up beside her. He touched her arm where a cut was and it slowly healed.

She hugged him, very happy he was alright. He cried out a little and she pulled away to see how around his waist a very light bruise. It was around his waist, going around like a circle. He touched it and made cringed.

She had this weird feeling something was coming. She stiffen a little and he gave her a confused look. She turned her head to the right and her eyes widen when she saw a shark. She looked at her almost healed arm and realized it must have drawn the predator.

It wasn't to close to them but it was swimming very quickly. She grabbed Raphael hand and they swam away—not sure where exactly where they were running.

After an hour of swimming they rose to the surface. They looked around and noticed how cold the air was. But they didn't see snow anywhere. She knew in Alaska it's not a winter desert but is that where they were? They kept themselves out of people views as they looked around the land to get any clues.

She saw a little girl maybe seven years old playing around by a boardwalk and an idea popped in her head. She told Raphael and they swam over. They hid under the boardwalk bridge and Vanessa swam out from under it a little.

“Hello.” she said. The litle girl jumped and turned around.

“Aren't you cold?” she asked.

Vanessa giggled, “Not at all. I have to ask you something.” she said and the little girl tilt her head to the side curious.

“Why are you in the water?” she asked, ignoring her. “I know that water is very cold. Only a crazy person would go in there in this weather.”

Vanessa brought her finger up to her mouth, “Shh, can you keep a secret?”

The little girl nodded, “Yes.”

Vanessa brought her tail up and the little girl eyes widen as she gasped. She went down on her knees as she got closer to the edge, trying to get as close as possible. Vanessa giggled, “Can you help me?”

The girl head nodded quickly, “Yes I can. Anything."

“Where am I?” she asked.

“Kreon, Alaska.” she answered. “Oh I have so many questioned.”

Vanessa brought her finger up and chuckled. She started singing and the little girls eyes became blank. She enchanted the little girl to forget about meeting her and that Mermaids are real. She wanted her to go home and not remember any of this.

She went back under the boardwalk and Raphael grin, “You made that little girl very happy.”

“It'll all seem just like some dream.” she said. “At least we're heading in the right direction now. Keep going the same way but turn east slightly. We're getting there.”

Vanessa gelt like they might have finally made it when they noticed allot more iceberges They looked around the silent area and wondered if they finally made it. They made sure to keep a close eyes out for anyone though since they swam at the surface. They would go under the water a few times just to make sure nothing dangerous was under there.

“Nessie look.” Raphael said and she looked at the direction he pointed at. They saw some seals watching them and they chuckled. When they swam more around they saw some polar whales on land and some non-dangerous whales they stay away from them.

“It doesn't look that bad out here.” Vanessa said as they looked around. “You think of the Arctic and think of something crazy. It's actually beautiful.”

Raphael spoke but another voice came, “Who are you?”

They stopped and turned around quickly. A Mermaid with a pale orange tail sat on a wall with a small piece of ice seat. She was different from the others though because her skin had a bluish look to it and her lips were slightly purple looking. Her hair was a viberant red falling past her waist. She didn't look like a Mermaid alive with spirit. She looked sick.

She stared at Raphael with her sea green eyes widen and she looked real concern, “What is this?” she asked, turning her head to look at Vanessa. She held a pale bluish arm up, “How is he like that?” She jumped into the water and swam over to them. She brought her hand up to Raphael, her nails long and pointy. She ran it down his cheek, “So handsome.”

Vanessa brought her hand up and wrapped it around the Mermaid wrist, “Are you Ninda?” she asked.

The Mermaid swat at her as she forced her arm out of Vanessa hold, “I have never seen a male Merman before.”

“What's your name?” Vanessa tried again but they Mermaid was to focused on Raphael. It was bugging her allot and she wanted answers not her gawking at Raphael. She can understand how suprising it is but they don't have allot of time to waste anymore.
