Quick A/N

First off, I'm glad you guys seem to like the trailer! I worked hard on it so it's nice to see a positive response to it. I might make a better one in the future but as of now I'm gonna stick with that one.

Secondly, I wasn't going to address it but I'm seeing a few people comment the same thing and I just want to say that no, I will not be changing the 3rd person POV to 1st person. I'm sorry if that disappoints some of you or if you prefer the 1st person which I completely understand because I prefer it too when reading books, but when I first imagined this story in my head it was always in 3rd person. It's a fanfic yes, but it's also a fantasy, adventure, action, romance...and I kind of just picture the narration happening from an outside POV. I'm trying my best to portray what the characters are thinking and feeling and I really hope I'm succeeding but either way, I'm not changing the story to 1st person. I wouldn't be happy with it if I did. So to anyone who might have asked me to change it or wondered if I could, there's your answer. I'm sorry if you're not happy with that but you can either accept it and keep reading or you can stop now. But you'd be missing out on a really good ending if you did. 😉

Enjoy :)

The silence that fell over the lost boys, Harry, and Gwen was deafening despite the sound of the waves softly rolling up on the shore. It lasted maybe a few seconds before the lost boys began to panic, looking to Harry for orders. Harry on the other hand, was frozen on the spot and the pirate ship was quickly approaching. He had been so consumed with the company of Gwen that he hadn't actually stopped to think of what he would do if the Pirates came looking for her. He kept putting it off and somewhere over the past few days he just...forgot about it. And now he wished he hadn't because he wasn't prepared for this. But It was the sound of Peter's voice and the realization that the pirates could possibly see them from this distance that snapped Harry out of his shock. His body tensed and he looked down at Gwen quickly, his expression serious and calm even though his heart was pounding too fast in his chest.

"Go back to camp." He ordered quickly.

"I-I don't know my way back yet." Gwen said, eyes darting across the sea to see the ship had gotten closer.

"She has no time anyways," Peter hurriedly chimed in, pulling out his makeshift sword from where he had it tucked in the strap of leaves he had across his chest. "He'll hear her running through the trees."

Harry didn't quite like the thought of her being nearby when the Pirates came but he knew Peter was right. She didn't know her way around the forest just yet and he'd hear the leaves cracking under her feet. He shook his head, running his fingers through his hair in agitation before letting out a breath and nodding. There was no time for him to dwell too much on it. "You're right." He looked back down at Gwen. "Go hide. Behind that rock," he pointed to a large rock that sat back near the edge of the trees. "Do not come out unless I tell you to."

Gwen nodded frantically and stumbled on her feet through the sand, kicking up some of it as she ran. Harry watched her disappear behind the rock and turned back to face the lost boys, eyes flickering over their panicked faces. "Don't look so frightened," he ordered, licking his lips and putting on a tough front even though he felt his stomach twisting. "They'll know something is up. Calm down, and don't speak a word. I'll do all the talking."

"What if they ask us if we've seen her?" It was Oscar who asked this and Harry assessed him. If there was anyone who would spill the news about Gwen, it was definitely him.

"Then lie." He hissed, his gaze moving to the ship that was now just feet away from the shore. He watched as they tossed the anchor over the side of the ship, his chest rising and falling in anticipation. The row boat hung up in the air was descending down and Harry could see Hook's red outdated capitano hat from where he stood. "If he asks about a girl, pretend you know nothing of what one is."

"I don't know if I like the idea of fibbing Harry," Oscar shook his head, crossing his arms and pursing his lips. "They'll find us out, and then we're all dead."

"You're dead if you do tell too," Harry said coldly, eyes sliding back to meet Oscar's suddenly wide eyes. "I'll kill you myself if you give her up."

Oscar didn't respond but Harry knew he wouldn't tell when he saw the way his throat bobbed and his lip quivered in fear. He didn't get to say anything else to the other boys who now all huddled on either side of Harry, flanking him in case he needed assistance. Hook stepped out of the row boat once they were close enough, along with five other pirates that followed him. Harry's posture was stiff and he watched Hook walk through the water, the splashes of it echoing around them.

"Harry," Hook's deep voice sounded in his ears and he stopped once he was five feet away from Harry. His hand rested atop the grip of his sword that was tucked in the belt of his overalls and Harry's own hand hovered near the weapon he had stashed in the waistband of his. "Good to see you. You haven't changed one bit."

"It's Neverland, we don't age here." He stated, eyes flickering to the Pirates on either side of him. They were dirty and even from where they stood Harry could smell their foul body odor. He refrained from scrunching his nose in distaste and looked back at Hook when he noticed him eyeing the other lost boys. "You're on our territory. Is there a reason you came here?"

He didn't answer Harry right away, his gaze lingered on Tristan longer then should have been necessary and he hummed. Gray eyes shifting to meet Harry's green ones. "Yes there is. I'm looking for a girl."

Though Harry felt as if his heart jumped in his chest, he kept his expression neutral and tilted his head in fake curiosity. "A girl?"

"Yes, you know what that is don't you?" Hook mocked, knowing the lost boys didn't know much. They lacked a lot of knowledge when it came to simple things and one of the reasons Harry strongly disliked Hook was because he always made fun of them for it. He made the boys' feel stupid, which they weren't. They were smarter than the average boy.

"Of course I know what a girl is," he answered, his irritation leaking into his tone. He swallowed the rest of it down and willed himself to keep his composure. "And we don't have any of those here." He held his arms out to wave over the lost boys that stood behind him. "All boys."

"Well this is the last of Neverland we had left to check, and she's nowhere to be found anywhere else." He stated, eyes sliding from each face of the lost boys. "Mind if we have a look around?"

"There's no point; you won't find a girl here." Harry shrugged, crossing his arms over his chest. "And we had an agreement you would stay off our side of the land. Frankly, you're breaking that truce."

Hook stared at Harry suspiciously, gray eyes scrutinizing his face closely for any sign of trickery. He had a feeling Harry was lying but he couldn't tell. His face was the same as it always was any time they spoke to one another. The boy was hard to read and it angered Hook that he couldn't tell if it were the truth or not.

"Well where else could she be?" He spat, thinking aloud but it came out as if he were asking Harry.

"I don't know," he answered, eyebrows furrowing and lip curling. "What is her importance to you anyways?"

Hook licked his lips. "I need her."

"For what?"

"For...indulgence."

If it weren't for the way the other pirates snickered lowly, there was no doubt Hook would have noticed the way Harry's back had stiffened. Or how his fists curled against his chest and the way his jaw clenched tightly. He didn't notice any of that, but when he smirked at his fellow pirates in pride and turned his gaze back to Harry, what he did notice was the footprints in the sand.

"What's that?" Hook pointed to the prints and Harry's eyes followed the direction before they fell on the marks indented into the sand. His facade faltered for a split second in panic, eyes widening when he realized the footprints lead up to where Gwen was currently hiding behind the rock.

Harry breathed out through his nose and shrugged, forcing himself to stay calm as he spoke. "One of the boys ran back to camp."

"But they stop out of nowhere." Hook observed, eyes narrowing as he took a step in the direction they were leading to.

"What are you doing?" Harry asked, voice rising slightly in fear but Hook mistook it for annoyance. "I told you, you're not allowed on our territory."

"We're on the beach." Hook pointed out, and began to walk in the direction of the rock. "I will just check the rock, we will leave right after."

Harry's hands fell to his sides and his back was tense as he watched Hook walk further up the beach. Tristan shook at his side and he subtly put his hand to the boy's shoulder in a attempt to relax him. It worked enough but him along with the other lost boys stared in anticipation as Hook turned behind the rock. Harry was holding his breath, waiting for the shrill of Gwen's scream to fill his ears. But it never came, and his chest deflated when Hook walked back out to the open a few seconds later and shrugged. His face was twisted unsurely and he gave one last glance at the rock and headed back down the beach.

"Odd." Is all he said.

"I told you one of the boys went back to camp." Harry said, his heart pounding in relief while his voice faked boredom and irritation.

"Well it seemed odd they would head in that direction." Hook said, eyes focusing back on Harry. He still didn't believe him when he said he knew nothing of where the girl was. Something told Hook that Harry in fact, knew exactly where she was. He'd come back another day. "If you see her, reach out to me. She belongs on my ship."

"I will." Harry lied right through his teeth with ease, nodding in agreement. "Now go. You've overstayed your unwelcome."

Hook chuckled lowly at Harry's words, shaking his head and tipping his hat in goodbye. The other pirates had already began to make their way back to the row boat, but Hook lingered. His eyes were flickering between Harry and the rock. "I'll be back." He told him, both as a warning and a threat. Harry said nothing in response; he was well aware of it before the words were even spoken. Difference was, the next time he would be ready for his arrival.

His legs were spread in a defiant stance as he watched Hook retreat back into the water, the feather on his hat swaying at the movement. Not one of them spoke a word as the Pirates clambered back on the row boat before one of the pirates began to row them back towards the ship. Hook smiled back at Harry and waved. Harry didn't wave back.

It wasn't until the ship was moving away minutes later, becoming almost a speck in the distance did Harry's shoulders slump in defeat. He let out a wrangled breath, lifting his hand to run his fingers through his hair. The lost boys stayed quiet, sensing Harry's distress and choosing to let him be for now. But they watched in curiosity as Harry turned abruptly on his feet and stalked towards the large rock Gwen was supposed to be hiding behind. He walked around it, coming to a halt when he saw for himself that she wasn't there. He looked around in confusion, turning in circles in the spot he stood. Where could she have gone? He wondered, just as the sound of a branch cracking echoed around him. Not from the forest though, but from above him.

He looked up and his eyes widened when he saw Gwen standing on a large thick branch high up in the trees. Her hands were resting against the tree trunk and her long hair curtained around her face as she stared down at Harry. Hazel eyes wide and mouth agape. She shifted on the branch uncomfortably and Harry looked away when the movement left him able to look up her gown. He might have very curious, but he wasn't disrespectful.

"Is he gone?" Her voice shook and the sound of it made Harry look back at her, eyes focused on hers.

He nodded. "Yes, you can come down." He told her and when she hesitated, looking around for the right way to climb back down, Harry held his arms out for her. "C'mere. I'll try and catch you."

Gwen stared at him unsurely with her lip between her teeth but nodded, moving to sit on the branch instead. Her legs dangled and she bunched her gown higher up her legs, revealing the smooth skin of her porcelain thighs. Harry only allowed himself to look just once and he instantly thought they looked soft.

"Ready?" Gwen asked, hands curling against the branch she sat on. Harry still held his arms out to her and nodded, beckoning her when she still hadn't jumped.

"I'll catch you." He reassured her and after another long moment, Gwen flung herself off the tree, a small squeal leaving her lips. Her arms hugged Harry's neck and her legs went on either side of his waist, circling it to keep herself from falling. The action made Harry stumble but he managed to stay on both his feet while his hands flew to hold her up beneath her thighs. Close to the curve of her bum. He wasn't aware of this of course, at least not until he had steadied them both. Then the feel of her warm soft flesh against his fingertips registered, and his hands drew back quickly. He did it out of respect for her but little did Harry know the action only saddened Gwen. Was he repulsed by me? She asked herself, letting her legs release his waist and putting her feet back to the ground. Her chest was still pressed against his and she stole a quick glance to his face. His eyes were staring down at her intensely but she pulled her arms back, stepping away and tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Thank you." She said when the silence between them became unbearable.

Harry ignored her thanks and his eyebrows pulled tightly together, arms crossing over his chest. "Why were you up there?"

"I heard what he said about me," Gwen said, biting her lip again and looking down at the sand. Indulgence. He wanted her for the sake of fulfilling his needs. Maybe to fulfill the other pirates needs as well. The thought made her sick. "Why they want me. It frightened me so I climbed up on the tree. The rock didn't seem like such a great hiding spot after all."

Harry watched her fidget, knowing what the pirates said really did not sit well with her. It hadn't pleased him either. "Well, good thing I suppose. Any moment longer behind the rock and he would have found you."

She nodded in understanding, fiddling with her fingers. Harry's heart was still beating quickly but for a different reason now. He sighed deeply, looking away just before Gwen gathered enough courage to look at him. She chewed on her lip and stepped forward, the sand rubbing between her toes. She moved close enough where Harry could feel the heat of her body and surprised by her proximity, his head turned back to her. He reeled back slightly when he saw just how close she really was and his heart broke off into a sprint. He held his breath when she reached out and pressed her hand to his elbow before letting it slip down his arm until her fingertips were brushing his. Her touch left a hot trail along Harry's skin and his breath was lodged in his throat.

"Thank you for lying Harry. I know it is costing you."

It was costing me, he thought. And the reminder snapped Harry out of whatever trance he had slipped into the moment she touched him. He pulled away immediately, creating space between them. Both physically and emotionally. He looked away from her hazel eyes that seemed to constantly draw him in and bit the inside of his cheek.

"It is." He said, Gwen's eyes widening when she heard his cold tone. She retracted her hand and stood back. "I'll make sure he doesn't find you and you're welcome to stay with us, but that's it." He declared, not just for her sake but for his camp. She was the reason they all could have died today because he was unprepared and had no plan for what to do when Hook had arrived. Simply because he had been too distracted and consumed by Gwen's presence. But no more, he promised himself. If he was going to keep her along with his fellow lost boys safe, he couldn't be around Gwen. He had to create boundaries because any longer with her and Harry was sure he would end up crossing them.

"That's it?" Gwen asked, her voice shook with sadness and disbelief but Harry pretended like that sound didn't strike his heart.

"Yes." He answered shortly. He bit harder on his cheek in a attempt to distract himself from the pain his own words were bringing him. "I'll have your own hut set up for you by tomorrow." He said quickly and turned his back to her. Gwen watched him walk down the beach with out so much as another word. A frown grew on her lips and the terrifying part was the way her heart sunk down into her stomach . Leaving her to realize a little too late that she fancied Harry. More than she should.
