The sound of faint voices seeping through the thin walls of the hut, was what woke Gwen up the next morning. Her hazel eyes fluttered open, squinting immediately up at the ceiling when the little light shining through the gap below the door made her eyes burn. She waited for her eyes to adjust to the lighting before she finally took in where she lay, her head turning to her side. There she saw Harry fast asleep with his head turned towards her against the bamboo makeshift mattress, Gwen's heart instantly swelling when she realized her head currently rested on top of his pillow. He must of put it there after I'd fallen asleep, she concluded. The thought made a small grin pull at her lips, her eyes gazing at his sleeping figure adoringly.

His long eyelashes rested on top of his flushed cheeks, pink lips parted slightly as soft puffs of breath came out. His hair was in a messy array, sticking to the side of his face while the other was plastered against the bamboo. Gwen barely noticed the weight over her chest and looked down to see he had his arm slung over her, hand curling limply in the space between her waist and arm. His legs were tangled with hers while he laid on his side facing her as if he had fallen asleep that way. Which unknowingly to Gwen, he had. He had stared at her for over an hour, admiring every detail of her face before sleep finally took him and he hadn't moved an inch.

Gwen bit into her lip to suppress a smile, unable to help herself as she lifted her hand and lightly ran it over his face. When he didn't react to her touch, she continued on cautiously to trace the curve of his pink lips, eyes flickering to the small mole he had on the left side of his face near his mouth. She felt a little prickle under her fingers as she moved then to his chin, noticing that he had been starting to grow some facial hair. She'd never noticed it before but then she also had really never gotten to just stare at him so up close like this. She knew Harry had told her you don't grow up in Neverland and at first, she had been reluctant to believe him but the fact her own hair hadn't grown and neither had the hair on other parts of her body, she realized he hadn't been lying. Which was why she was going to assume the facial hair had started to grow before he left home and had stopped its growth the moment he stepped on this island. Somewhere inside her she was wishing he could keep growing it; she had a feeling he would look mouthwatering with a little bit of scruff on his chin.

As her thoughts about him continued on, so did the movement of her hand. She lightly dragged her fingers over the side of his face until they slipped into the hair sticking to his face. Pushing it back as softly as she could, she brushed it back to the rest of his hair but her heart stopped when her gaze was suddenly met with light green eyes. They looked lighter today, to the point where she could see gold specks in them. The way he was staring at her intensely made her heart take off into a sprint and she immediately pulled her hand back. Embarrassed that she had been caught admiring him, her cheeks flushed red and she bit down harder on her lip.

His eyes stared into hers before blinking repeatedly as he looked over the rest of her face. A slow lazy grin pulled at his lips, eyes still swollen with sleep crinkling in the corners. "Good morning."

Goosebumps rose over Gwen's skin when the rasp of his deep voice filled her ears. It was lower than it usually was and it made her stomach tighten. "Good morning."

His arm around her tightened and she watched as he scooted himself closer to her, nuzzling his face against her shoulder. "Did you sleep well?"

"Probably the best I've slept since arriving."

He smiled faintly, the indent in his cheek deepening as he sighed. "It was best I've slept in years."

Gwen blushed deeply again when Harry suddenly released her, rolling on his back with a groan. She watched in mesmerization as he kicked the leaves blanket off of them, stretching his arms over his head. Her eyes flickered down to his bare torso as he did, the muscle in his stomach contracting and the v-lines on his lower region visible. Gwen felt hot just looking at him so she turned to stare up at the ceiling instead when the sound of voices outside grew louder.

She sat up, realizing that she wasn't supposed to be in Harry's hut and the boys were already up and about. She told herself the night before she was going to sneak back to her own hut after seeing Harry. But their activities had drain what little energy she did have and she was out like a light before she could stop it. She didn't even remember falling asleep, she only blinked for a second and then next thing she knew she was waking up to the sound of life outside the hut.

Throwing her legs over the side of the bed, her feet touched the floor and she tugged her gown back into place. "Harry, I wasn't supposed to fall asleep here."

"It's alright Gwen."

She anxiously ran her fingers through her tangled hair, feeling the bed shift behind her and then Harry was sitting beside her. His knee bumped hers and she briefly looked down, seeing he was in his overalls instead of his trousers from last night. He tugged at his own hair, pressing his lips together in thought.

"I have no way of leaving with out them seeing me."

"Does it really matter if they do?"

She raised her eyebrows at him incredibly, turning to look at him like he was out of his mind. "They'll think you're putting them in danger for this. For me. It will make them angry."

Maybe I am, Harry thought as he bit down on his lip. He wasn't going to lie to himself; most of the reason he had agreed to keep her safe here was because he thought she was beautiful and he felt drawn to her. Of course there was the reason that he felt it were morally the right thing to keep her away from Hook and his filthy hands too. He would never hand over a girl knowing what the Pirates had horribly planned for her.

"I'll distract them." He says finally, standing from the bed. He moved towards the door of the hut, pausing to look over his shoulder at Gwen. "I'll say I need to speak to them in the middle of camp. Go to your hut when you see everyone gone."

"Okay." She tells him, unsure if she should say anything else about what happened last night. What was the right way to handle a situation like this? It wasn't something Gwen had ever gotten advice on with her friends back home. The few that had done anything sexually active were already married. It was normal and expected to sleep with your significant other but she had never heard what to do when you did something scandalous with someone who wasn't your husband. Did this make me a floozie? Gwen wondered, and though she would hate to disappoint her mother, she couldn't find it in herself to regret what they did.

Before she could decide on whether to say something to Harry, he had already slipped out of the door. She deflated like a balloon at her missed opportunity and wanted to smack herself. She knew her mind was going to be turning with questions until they spoke about it and now she had missed her chance. She would have to wait until nightfall again to get a moment alone with Harry, or if she was lucky they would find some time today. Either way, she'd have to wait and Gwen's patience only went so far.

Huffing quietly, she stood from the bed and quietly moved towards the door. Hesitating for a moment, she put her hand to the edge of it and popped it open just a fraction. She aligned her eye with the gap and closed one eye so she could see through it. No one looked to be outside the hut and after waiting another long moment, she slowly pulled the door open wider. She looked both ways as she stepped out and when she saw not one person was around, she hurriedly turned around to close the door behind her. Her heart was racing in anticipation in her chest but just when she spun around to make a run for it, she froze mid run when a body suddenly appeared from the hidden area between Harry's hut and the one beside it.

Peter had his arms crossed over his chest defiantly, feet spread and chin raised to look Gwen in the eye. His jaw was set in irritation and his blue eyes were staring at Gwen like she had committed a crime. And honestly, she felt like she did with the way he was looking at her.

"Peter," she said and her voice came out a little too high pitched. She cleared her throat and clasped her hands together in front of her. "I thought I heard Harry say he was going to make an announcement? Why are you not there?"

He clucked his tongue and took a step closer to where Gwen stood, tilting his head as he looked at her disheveled appearance. "Why were you in Harry's hut?"

Gwen fell short with a response. She was fairly good with lying on the spot, but for some reason she found it hard to do when it came to a boy like Peter. He seemed awfully observant for his age and something told her he wouldn't buy her fib for one second. Yet, she still had to try.

"I didn't feel so well early this morning. I came to Harry to ask if he had anything that would subside my headache. He let me sleep on his pillow while he took the floor." She added a shrug to the end of her lie in attempt to get him to believe her. She stared back at him when he narrowed his eyes at her, trying to see if she were telling the truth or not. Gwen's insides were going crazy with anticipation but on the outside, she seemed put together and calm.

Peter's shoulders fell slightly in defeat, and though he was still staring at her suspiciously, his voice wasn't as cold as it was before. "Well I certainly hope you feel better now."

"I do, thank you Peter." She said softly, a little surprised that he had said another nice thing to her. He stared at her once more, frowning when he saw Gwen's small smile. He immediately squared his shoulders and looked away, angry that he had made her grin.

"Whatever. We need to be in the middle of camp for the announcement."

"I was hoping to go bathe before I started the day." Gwen said, briefly remembering that she hadn't taken off her undergarments last night when she climaxed and she was impatient to go wash them.

He scowled at her in annoyance but shook his head and fixed the makeshift belt around his waist with the weapons he had. "Fine. But hurry up, Tristan has been looking for you and he won't stop pestering me. I'm this close to slagging him for it."

She wanted to smile at the fact Tristan was eager to see her again but instead, frowned at Peter and sent him a glare. She felt protective of Tristan and she did not like the way Peter had just talked about him. "You be nice to him, Peter."

He raised his eyebrows incredulously at the tone she used on him and stifled a laugh. "You're not my mother."

"No, I'm not. But I will rip your ear off like one." She threatened coldly and Peter's eyes widened. She didn't give him a chance to respond as she briskly walked by him with her head held high. "I suggest you treat him well, Peter."

She left Peter dumbfounded as she sauntered her way through the forest, brushing by bushes as she went. Her eyes were on the scenery around her as she hummed and stepped over logs and branches. She ever head giggling along the way and looked up to see four fairies flying high around her before they took off in another direction of the forest. Gwen smiled at the sight, remembering when Harry had taken her to the pixie dust tree and then kissed her for the first time that same night. It was hard for her to believe that was only two nights ago. She felt as if so much time had passed since then but it really hadn't.

Once she stepped through the edge of the tree and onto the rocketed floor near the lake, she paused to pull her knickers down her legs. They pooled at her feet and she bent down to pick them up, moving to let her feet dangle in the water as she sat against the edge. She began washing them, scrubbing as she did and humming an hold tune from home. Her thoughts drifted to her parents and when they had, for the briefest moment she couldn't remember what they looked like. Fear coursed through her in those few short seconds before relief replaced it when she saw an image of both her parents in her head. She clung onto it for dear life, her hands becoming robotic and her humming coming to a stop. Her heart clenched and she felt an overwhelming feeling of sadness consume her. She missed them.

"Gwenevieve, isn't it?"

Gwen's head snapped up at the unexpected voice and her eyes fell on the red head swimming just a few feet in front of her. Venus. Her brown eyes were trained on Gwen in curiosity as she tilted her head, waiting for Gwen's response.

"Yes." She said after a moment, blinking to rid her lingering thoughts of her parents. "You're Venus?"

"Yes." She grinned widely, showing Gwen a set of straight white teeth. She was undeniably gorgeous but the way she was looking at Gwen, did not sit well with her.

She had no idea what to say to the mermaid, or what she even wanted. Harry wasn't with her so she couldn't possibly understand why she was talking to her in the first place. Harry might not be able to see it but Gwen could; Venus did not like her.

"Are you looking for Harry? He's with the boys." She said, thinking it was the only thing she could say since Harry was the only thing they had in common.

"No." She stared and swam a little closer to Gwen, her brown eyes flickering down to Gwen's knickers in her hand. She narrowed her eyes at the fabric and looked up at Gwen through wet eyelashes. "Harry was here last night washing his trousers too."

Gwen's whole body froze at the iciness of her voice and she looked up warily at the mermaid. She lowered herself a little further into the water until it stopped just above her nose. Her eyes were the only thing visible to Gwen and they looked angry. Viscous.

"Oh." Gwen said quietly but her body was reacting with out her permission and she could feel her cheeks turning red. "That's odd."

"Yes, very odd."

Gwen didn't say anything and tried her hardest to focus back on her task. Her knickers were already clean again but she needed a way to busy herself because Venus was making her nervous. Would it be rude if I just left? She was asking herself, but Venus spoke again before she could make the decision.

"I've know Harry for a long time. Him and I are very close." She says suddenly and Gwen bites down on her lip as she watched the mermaid swim closer to her. "I like him very much and I think he likes me too. But he's forgetting about that because of you."

Gwen flinched at the coldness of her tone, mouth gaping open in surprise. She didn't know what to say to her. She'd never been in this kind of situation either and she honestly was not prepared for a quarrel with another girl at the moment. "What? I-,"

"I don't like sharing. At all." Venus cuts her off and Gwen's eyebrows furrow together just as two other mermaids come to the surface on either side of Gwen. She stiffens, not recognizing either one of them. They were not the same mermaids that had been with Venus the last two times.

Gwen's stomach twisted In dread and her gut was telling her she needed to leave right at that moment. The look in Venus's eye was deadly and crazed while the other two mermaids' looked sinister. Her whole body was tense and rigid with anticipation as Venus moved closer to her. Gwen's mind reeled with what to do, but something snapped when she saw Venus reach for her leg and she instantly pulled them out of the water quickly.

Though, it wasn't fast enough. And no one said mermaids couldn't take their arms out of the water. Which was why, right as she was about to lift herself on her feet and make a run for it, the mermaid on her right caught her foot and yanked her back into the lake. She fell in backwards, water instantly filling her lungs as she choked under water. She was still in the shallow parts of it and pressed her feet on the ground to push herself back up to the surface. Her face had just made it above water and she had only gotten one lungful of oxygen in before something heavy and slimy wrapped around her legs tightly. A fin. She gasped, and then without warning she was yanked through the water rapidly. The hold on her legs made it impossible for her to kick and so she was left to being dragged around like a rag doll. The movement stopped once she was in deeper waters and for a brief moment, the hold around her legs released her. Gwen instantly took that small chance, kicked her legs hard and plunged her head through the surface to breathe.

She gasped for another lungful of air, fighting not to choke when she knew she had just one chance to give a cry for help to the boys. To Harry. She felt the same heavy and slimy fin brushing her skin to wrap around her legs and then before she could be taken under again, she let out a loud piercing scream.

Questions:

What will become of Gwen and Harry?

Is someone going to save her? Who?
