The lawyers had just left the house. The custody settlement had just finished. Aiden had finally handed over the custody of his daughter to her grandparents. He now had to send them money every month as a financial help but just like he wanted, he wouldn't meet his daughter ever again.

He could hear his in laws packing their bags in the next room. They were leaving tomorrow. With his daughter. His daughter.

Tonight it was his daughter's last night in the house that was bought only for her. In the room that was made only for her. It was her last night with him.

He had never thought of her as his daughter until past few days. He didn't understand why he was now. She had killed his wife. He didn't like her. He hated her. He hated her? Somehow that was something he wasn't able believe in anymore. Did he really hate her? Something inside him kept saying the answer was no. Is it? He thought again. How could his feelings change so easily? Or were they actually of hatred originally?

His mind drifted off to the day he had seen his baby for the first time, in that delivery room, just before Hannah's hand fell on the bed. He remembered how happy she had been, he had been. He was happy. Happy to see his daughter.

His feet again led him to the same room where he hadn't enter the day before, his daughter's room. His hand hovered over the door knob again. He kept looking at the door again. And he didn't enter the room again.
