WingDings Gaster ~7
We ate at Grillby's, chatting and catching Gaster up on what happened in his absence.
"So, Alphys became the Royal Scientist, hmm? Well, she was a sweet, intelligent child, if not a little shy." Gaster finished off his third burger.
"Yeah, we're pretty tight. She doesn't remember you though." Sans shrugged.
"Fascinating... Does anyone remember me besides you?"
"Nah, not that I know of. I almost forgot you for a while there; thankfully I found that picture you left me."
"Never forget..." Gaster whispered. Sans nodded, and stood up, stretching.
"Welp, we better head home if you wanna catch Paps tonight before bed."
Gaster's face was a mix of love, excitement, and fear. "But he doesn't remember me."
"I've told him we had a dad, he just doesn't specifically remember you, persay." We stepped into the cold of Snowdin, and headed to our house. Our house... That has a nice ring to it.
"Hey Paps! Got someone I want you to meet!"
I heard Papyus' loud voice carry downstairs. "BUT SANS, YOU SAID YOU WOULD READ ME A STORY TONIGHT!" Papyrus bounded down the stairs, but stopped short. "HE-HE'S A SKELETON!"
"Heh, yeah. Papy, I want you to meet.." He choked up a little, tears of joy in his eyes. "Our dad."
Papyrus' eyes teared up too, as he enveloped both skeletons in a large hug. It was a sweet, tearful reunion/meeting.
I stood to the side, smiling, until Sans noticed me. He turned my soul blue, and pulled me into the hug. "You're part of the hug now, too." He grinned.
After a while, the hug broke. Papyrus was happy, but had a twinge of confusion. "But Sans, I thought you said our dad disappeared a long time ago. How did he get here?"
"Uh, it's a long story... But he's here now! So it's all good!"
Gaster hadn't said anything throughout the entire thing. "I missed you a lot Papyrus; more than you can ever know."
Sans broke the peaceful, loving moment. "Well, it's getting late. Paps, you need to get to bed. I'll go read you a story." Papyrus followed him up the stairs, looking back at Gaster one last time before going to his room.
"I guess you get to sleep down here with me. You can have the longer couch." I smiled sleepily. I just realized how tired I was. All the practice with magic earlier wore me out.
"Okay, thank you." We both laid down, and I threw him a spare blanket.
I heard snippets of things he was whispering to himself, thinking I was asleep. "They've grown up so much...so nice...she would...very good..."
I fell asleep before I could wonder what he said.

I was running. From what, I couldn't remember. Then, I heard him calling from behind me.
"Come back! We haven't finished the tests yet!" It was Gaster, chasing after me with a knife and syringe.
"NO! Experimenting on humans is wrong! Please!" I stumbled as I cried over my shoulder. I began to notice scrapes and burns all over me, making it hard to run.
I twisted my ankle, and fell to the ground, crying. A tall shadow fell over me. "GASTER, NO!"
"Frisk.
Frisk!
FRISK!"

Gaster's POV
I woke up at some point in the night, to sniffling. It was quite disorienting, hearing the sounds of other living beings again after 15 years. It felt like an eternity and a millisecond at the same time.
I sat up and found it was Frisk, who was crying quietly on the other couch, tangled up in her blanket. I stepped quietly over to her, watching her curiously. I had never seen a live human before, and the scientist side of me was screaming. I shook my skull, reminding myself of my promise. No more science, not after the accident.
Suddenly, she cried out. "GASTER, NO!" I jumped, startled at my name.
"Frisk." She looks pained.
"Frisk!" Please wake up.
"FRISK!" I shook her, and her eyes flew open.
"AAAAAaaaaaa!!!" She flailed under my grip. "Getawaygetawaygetaway!"
"Frisk, it's okay. It's just me, Gaster."
Her eyes went wide, and locked gazes with mine. She slowly went limp, crying. "P-Please. D-Don't hurt m-me." She whimpered.
"I would never hurt you. Please trust me, Frisk."
"Wazz goin' on?" Sans came down the stairs, rubbing his eye socket. He spotted Frisk flinching from my touch and his left eye lit up. "What did you do?" He bolted down the stairs and pushed me away from her.
"Please Sans, she had a nightmare. I think it was about me, because she is terrified of me now." I was in tears. My first day back from the void and I get this?
"Frisk. Frisk, you're okay. Speak to me kiddo!" Sans was shaking the human. Suddenly, she shot up, gasping.
"Sans! Oh, I had the scariest dream! Gaster was chasing me, he wanted to cut me open, and then it felt like I woke up, and Gaster was holding me down on the couch, and-" She spotted me and started to panic again. "It wasn't a dream! Saaaans!" She wailed and hid behind him on the couch.
"Woah, kid, chill! Dings would never do something like that." He glanced at me, and the look clearly said, not anymore. I cringed, remembering what I did to some monsters when I was the Royal scientist.
Then I realized what he called me. "Seriously!? After all these years, you're still stuck on that!?" My face flushed in frustration. "You know I hate that nickname!"
He laughed. Really hard. "S-Sorry, G. I-I thought it would l-lighten the mood!" He gasped for breath.
The human whined, regaining both of our attention. Sans wrapped her in a hug. "It's okay Frisk. It's okay. Just go back to sleep." He soothed her for a few minutes, until she fell asleep. He gently threw the blanket over her, and went back upstairs.
"Don't even think about it, Gaster."
I nodded, and laid back down. Sans was sure overprotective of a human he only met a few days ago. Hmmm...
Love you, my little stars!
