Sick Day ~14

"HUMAN FRISK, WHAT HAPPENED? WHY ARE YOU WET?" Papyrus stepped out of the kitchen, a concerned Gaster behind him.

"We ended up in Waterfall. Now I think I'm sick."

Gaster's eyes lit up. "I read all about this in my human studies book!" He ran over to me, startling me. "What symptoms do you have? Do we have a thermometer? What's-"

"G, stop. Your going scientist on her." Sans entered the room, some clothing in his arms.

Gaster backed away from me, eyes concerned and nervous. "I'm so sorry, I didn't even realize!"

"It's okay Gaster, I- t'choo! I didn't mind." I sniffed.

"Well, here, all we have right now is Papyrus' and my stuff, so I brought some of both, to see what will fit you better." He shrugged.

"Okay. Thanks." I grabbed the clothes and stepped into the bathroom. Just looking at them, I could tell Papyrus' would be too big. I threw my soaking clothes off and pulled on Sans' classic white tee and black shorts. They fit well enough, so I came out, to find all three of the skeletons staring at me.

"Uhh... hi?"

"YOU LOOK LIKE A HUMAN SANS!" Papyrus giggled.

"Hehe, thank you? At'choo!"

"Frisk, you need to rest; otherwise you'll never get better!" Sans guided me over to the couch. "Oh. The couch is wet."

"Oh, I'm sorry! I got your couch all wet." I sniffled.

"That's not what I'm upset about. I'm wondering where you can rest while it's drying out." Sans mused.

"THE GREAT PAPYRUS HAS AN IDEA! YOU CAN SLEEP IN MY BED!" He shouted proudly.

"B-But Papyrus, what about you?" I asked. I didn't want to take his bed, but he seemed so happy.

"IT IS NO WORRY FRISK! I CAN SLEEP DOWNSTAIRS WITH DAD."

"O-Okay then." I made my way up the stairs shakily; Sans, Papyrus and Gaster helping me all the way up. Papyrus opened the door to his room, revealing it to me.

There were many figurines scattered across the floor and table, along with a few books pulled off the shelf. The was a computer in the corner, that was open to some sort of social media site. The thing that caught my eye the most, however, was the awesome red race car bed.

"That's your bed!? That's so cool! T'choo-" I ran over to the bed and sat on the edge, grinning.

"Okay, lay down right now." Gaster pushed me over gently. "The sooner you rest, the sooner you get better."

I was out like a light.

Sans' POV

I threw one last glance into the room before closing the door. I slid down the wall, setting my skull on my knees. "Gaster, what if she never heals? What if she dies? What if I never get to say goodbye?" I sobbed.

I felt a gentle arm around my shoulder. "Sans, it's okay. Shhh... Shhhhh....." He began rubbing my back, soothing me. "I've read all about human illness, and she'll be fine. As long as her temperature stays below 103 degrees, she'll be totally fine."

"But I don't know how to check a temperature!" I sobbed into my knees, eyes black.

"Jeez, you're like an over-protective boyfriend. She's fine, Sans. If you want, I can give her a check-up to make sure everything's in order."

I sniffled. "Y-Yeah. Th-Thanks."

Gaster quietly entered the room. After a few minutes, Papyrus came back upstairs with a bowl of spaghetti.

"Sans, I made you some spaghetti." He set it in front of me, slowly sitting next to me.

"Thanks." I mumbled quietly. Frisk, what are you doing to me?

Gaster's POV

I nervously crouched next to the bed, watching the human sleep. I really wanted to study the human, but all I needed to do was check her temperature. That's all. Nothing more.

Gaaahhhhhh!!!

Just ignore that. Scientist withdrawals.

I carefully set my hand on her forehead. She was warm, but not overly so. Phew.

"Hmm? Gaster...?" She whispered, voice rasp.

"Yes. Just go back to sleep." I whispered back. I patted her head and slowly left. Out in the hall, I found Sans and Papyrus asleep on each other, with a bowl of spaghetti between them.

Smiling, I went downstairs, and fell asleep on the dry couch.

Sans' POV

I woke up with Papyrus curled up on the floor next to me. I guess he fell over at some point. Stretching, I got up and went on a walk. I didn't often wake up this early, but I enjoyed walking around in the early morning when I did.

Taking in a deep breath of cold air, I stepped into the forest. It was soothing to be isolated from everyone.

I heard some faint static in the distance, and wondered what it could be. I crept behind a tree and peeked around it, spotting a face I never wanted to see.

Love you, my little stars!
