Le Kiss ~29

"Mettaton, thank you for all this. Now, can I please go? I can't wait to see my surprise!"

"Alright. Knock 'em dead, darling! Sans wants you to go home first."

Ecstatic, I bounded out the door and teleported home, so I didn't mess up my hair. I noticed a small note taped to the door, so I carefully pulled it off and read it.

"My lovely Y/n,
I love you, and I want to show you just how much. Go to the first place we went on an official date.
~Your One and Only

Grinning, I headed into Snowdin Forest. We had always consider our trip to Sans' sentry station our first official date as a couple.

When I got there, I looked around in confusion. Sans was nowhere to be seen. Curious, I looked around a little. I giggled as I found an arrow stomped into the snow, pointing into the forest behind his station.

I headed into the forest, and spotted a clearing through the trees. I gasped as I walked in. All the snow had been melted off, and green grass swayed in the breeze. A table for two sat in the center of the clearing, and Sans was standing next to it. But I wasn't gasping because of any of that.

"Sans, you're wearing a suit!" I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks.

"Heh, I guess. You- You look amazing." His face was blue.

"Thanks. So, uh, what's all this about?"

"I wanted to show you just how much I love you. Come sit down." He pulled out a chair for me, and I sat in it.

Two plates of food appeared on the table, and I could tell it was cooked by Gaster. I picked up my fork, but paused when Sans didn't. I glanced up at him, and saw he couldn't quite lift his arm up to the table, due to his suit.

I couldn't help it; I laughed.

"What're you starin' at, you bonehea- I mean, are you enjoying your dinner?"

I smiled sadly. "Sans, this is great, I appreciate all the work you went through. But, I wanted to spend time with you, not an imposter skeleton in a suit! I know you would never wear a real suit, and my Sans would never correct himself after telling a pun. I just want you to be yourself."

Sans blushed, and grinned widely. "I like you too, you bonehead."

"What if we had a picnic on the grass?" I suggested. Sans snapped, and a blanket landed on the grass. We sat down on the blanket next to each other and ate slowly.

We spent the whole evening out there, and eventually, we laid down, staring at the ceiling of the cave. At some point, Sans had put his arm around me, so I used his arm as a pillow. We spent a few minutes just looking in silence.

"Hey Sans." I said finally.

"Yeah?" He shifted to look at me.

"You're my favorite skeleton ever." I looked at him.

"Heh. Don't tell Papyrus, he'd get offended."

We laughed at that, and settled into a comfortable silence, staring at each other.

Kiss him.

I blushed at the thought, but didn't dismiss it. How would it even work? He doesn't have lips!

Sans' POV

Kiss her.

I blushed at the thought, but considered it. I didn't have lips, but surely that can't be that big a deal, right?

Your POV

Sans leaned in, and I blushed. Did he want to kiss? I leaned forward a little too, and he glanced at my lips. I think he thinks I didn't notice, but I did.

And then, it happened. It was short and tender, and ended sooner than I wanted it too. We pulled apart, and I blushed brightly, looking away.

After a few minutes, I finally spoke up. "I never thought my first kiss would be with a skeleton."

He chuckled nervously. "Yeah. I guess so..."

We drifted off into silence again. I stared at the rocks in the ceiling; they were starting to glow brighter, signifying the growing night.

"...Thank you, Sans. For everything."

~Months Later~
Sans' POV

"G, this is important, and you need to sit down. Trust me."

"Sans, I am not a baby bones. I can handle this. Now tell me." He folded his arms, staying standing.

I took a deep, shuddering breath. "I- I want to spend the rest of my life with her."

He fell into the couch behind him. "Woah. You- You weren't kidding." He took a few deep breaths, calming down. "When?"

"I want to wait a little longer, to make sure everything works out. And I want to plan everything beforehand. So it may be a couple weeks or months." I wrung my hands.

He put his head in his hands. "I never thought I'd see the day..."

"What?"

"I never thought in any timeline you would get married before Papyrus! You're so reclusive!" He laughed.

I growled. "G, I can't believe you."

"Sorry, sorry!" He caught his breath. "I support you all the way. What can I help with?"

Love you, my little stars!
