King Asgore ~27

I woke up slowly, enjoying the soft mattress under me. I had only ever slept on a couch before, so this was a nice change.

"Mornin' kiddo." Sans said, breaking the silence.

"You're awake?"

"Yep."

"And don't call me kiddo."

"Aw, but you're so cute and little!" He threw his arms around me, startling me. Guess I'm not going back to bed sleep.

"I'm not little!" I pouted, throwing him off.

"Whatever kid. I smell breakfast." We went downstairs to find everyone helping with breakfast, including Toriel. "Tori, you don't have to. You're a guest."

"I know." She set a pie on a cooling rack. "But I need to repay you for your hospitality. Butterscotch-cinnamon pie for breakfast!"

We ate half the pie, and it was amazing! "I'll take the rest of it to the castle with me. I'll bet Asgore couldn't bake one to save his soul."

"Would you like us to walk you over, Ms. Toriel?" Frisk asked as he cleared the table.

"If you would like to come, I would love the company!" Toriel, Sans, Frisk and I decided to go to the castle with her. I had never met the king before. (To be honest, I didn't know there was a king)

"Knock knock!" Sans called as he knocked on the door to a quaint little home.

"Yes?" A deep voice replied. The door swung open, revealing a large goat man, similar in appearance to Toriel. He stepped back in surprise. "Tori! Sans? Humans!?"

"Heya buddy. I found these guys wanderin' around and thought you might like to say hi." Sans gestured to us.

King Asgore glanced quickly at Frisk and I, but his gaze was mostly fixed on Toriel. "Tori, you came back."

She huffed, but her eyes were soft. "Hello Asgore. It has been some time."

"So, I guess I'll just let you two talk things out. Me and the kids will be at Grillby's." Sans began to walk away when the king stopped him.

"Sans, why do you have two humans with you?"

Sans turned back around, grinning cheekily. "Oh, this one was being used by anti-voidal beings to become all-powerful." He said nodding to Frisk. "And I'm dating this one." He added casually, throwing an arm over my shoulder.

I blushed as Toriel and Asgore's eyes widened. "My child, is this true? Sans!"

Sans chuckled. "When death is on the line, confessions become a lot easier."

I shoved him playfully. "You didn't even confess! I did all the hard work!" To be honest, you were still blown away by the fact that you were dating a skeleton.

"What do you expect? I'm a lazybones."

"Ahem." Asgore cleared his throat, clearly wanting us to get out.

"Right. We'll leave you to it then. Come back to our place for dinner if ya want." Sans and I teleported Frisk to Grillby's, and we sat down. "You guys think Tori's gonna forgive him?"

"Of course! They've always been my OTP!" Frisk cheers, gaining some sideways glances.

"It seems like they really missed each other, even if Toriel doesn't want to admit it." I said.

"Yep. They'll make the Underground great again."

~Later~

When Toriel and Asgore showed up for dinner, they were smiling brightly. As the evening wore on, it became evident that they easily forgave each other, which made me happy. I grabbed Sans' hand under the table, squeezing it. He looked at me, and slowly squeezed back.

"Y/n, dear child, may I speak to you? Alone?" She led my outside, and I was concerned. Did I do something wrong? She's not queen still, is she? I can't be kicked out of the Underground! I have nowhere to go! I could really go for a diet Mountain Dew right about now.

I could have cut the tension with a knife. Toriel just scanned my face for a few minutes before talking, slowly and slightly menacing.

"Y/n, how old are you?"

"Uh, why?" I wasn't sure where this was going.

"I don't want Sans making you do anything you don't want to, okay? If he ever gives you any trouble, just call me. I'll give you my number." She took my phone and plugged in her number.

"I understand Toriel, but I don't see that happening. He's a really sweet guy."

"If you're sure. Oh, and go ahead and call me 'mom'." She said cheerily as we went back inside. I followed, surprised. I wasn't complaining; she felt like a mother-figure the moment I met her.

Everyone was staring as we walked back in. I sat next to Sans, the silence deafening.

Sans' POV

As soon as Tori and Y/n left, Asgore turned to me. "What are you doing to that human?"

I blinked in surprise. "Uh, nothing? What are you talking about?"

"Why are you supposedly dating her? She's a human!"

"I truly love her, if you must know! Besides, it's not like you'll be killing her for her soul." I shrugged.

"Tori would never forgive me. Again." He sighed deeply.

"Actually-" Gaster started.

I cut him off quickly. "You're right. No more human killing."

His eyes narrowed in suspicion before Toriel and Y/n came back in. They were smiling, but there was slight tension behind Y/n's smile. She sat next to me, and everyone ate in awkward silence.

Soon, Papyrus broke the silence, and the rest of the evening went smoothly. Dinner was delicious, and Tori and Asgore seemed to have a good time. Hopefully they could get back together and live a happy life. I know Frisk always wanted to live with them like a family.

Later that night, they needed to head back to the castle, and Papyrus and Frisk crashed immediately.

Your POV

I decided to reclaim the couch, so I was just curling up in my blanket when Gaster started talking to me.

"How's it going with you and Sans?"

"Great! It's still a little weird being in a relationship, especially with a skeleton, but it'll work. I know it will." I smiled think of the lazy bones- my lazy bones.

"I'm glad. If you broke Sans' heart I'd have to give you a bad time."

And on that note, I tried to sleep.

Love you, my little stars!
