Ink ~16
Ink's POV
"A new AU! Aw, this one's so unique! I love it!" I hugged it quickly before letting it float towards the rest of the AU's. I could never get enough of sitting in the Doodle Sphere, watching the AU's grow. Suddenly, a loud BANG cracked through the air. I spun around to see what it was.
"Sans?! What're you doing here?" I ran over to him, helping him up.
"Just hanging around, y'know- ow."
"Why do I have a feeling that was a pun about Error?"
"Maybe because it was."
I sighed. "What did he do this time?"
"Well, he kidnapped Frisk, and now I need your help."
"Well that's something I can do! Let's go!" I reached my hand out to help him up, when something slammed on my head. "Ow, what?"
"Ugh, I've never gone through this way before. It hurts more. Ink, can't you fix that?" An all-too familiar voice complained.
"Gaster? What're you doing here?" I threw him off me, standing up.
"Hello again Ink. I'm here to help you and Sans. Hi Sans." He waved casually at Sans, who looked about to blow a fuse.
"G! I told you not to come with me!" Sans growled.
Gaster looked slightly hurt. "But Sans, I can't lose you again."
He sighed. "Dings, I lost you. You were the one in the void. I can't lose you."
"Well I'm the Royal scientist, so I'm always right."
"Not anymore. Al took your place."
"But I didn't quit, so technically, she's only acting in my stead."
"This is a lovely family reunion, but isn't Frisk in danger?" I interrupted. "Broomie's ready to see some action!"
"Right! Frisk!" Sans jumped up, determination in his eyes.
I opened a portal to Error's anti-void, which he gave me access to when we were kids; back when we were closer friends. I crept through the opening slowly.
"Clear." I said authoritatively.
"What are we, in the military?" Sans rolled his eyes as he walked past me. "Frisk? Frisk, where are you?"
Your POV
I perked up. "Did you hear that?"
"You must be hearing things. I did the first few hours here." He said happily.
I don't understand his thought process.
"Fr.....
"There it is again!" I looked around for the source of the sound, but all I could see was empty white.
"Please Frisk, they're not real." Blue tried to console me. "Just talk to me. I'm real!"
"Fris-"
"No. No, it's getting louder! Sans! Sans, over here!" I cried as loud as I could. Suddenly, I could see him. He just appeared twenty feet in front of me, with Gaster and some other Sans-looking guy behind him. "Sans! Gaster!"
Relief washed over Sans as he ran over to me. "Frisk, you're okay! Did he hurt you? How long have you been here? Are you hungry? Are you cold? Are-"
Gaster cut Sans off. "We missed you. Don't ditch us like that again." The relief was evident in his voice.
"So... Can you get us down please?" I asked desperately, nodding to Blue.
"I can! Broomie can take down those strings like nothin'!" The stranger pulled out a large paintbrush and seemed to just sweep away the wires.
I rubbed my wrists. "Thanks- um?"
"Oh! Hi, I'm Ink Sans, or just Ink. Protector and guardian of all AU's." He stood up straighter, smiling.
"Nice to meet you. Why are there so many alternate universe Sans' around here?"
"Dunno. Good to see you again Blue." Sans waved.
"Yes, it's been a while since Error has tried anything on you." Ink noted.
"Yeah. Thankfully, I've only been here about an hour. Plus, Frisk kept me company!" He said, giving me a hug.
"Wait, this is a regular thing for you? What even, man?"
"Yeah," he shrugged. "Error has his ways, and none of us understand. He wants to eliminate all glitches, but he's a glitch." Blue giggled at his own words, while I stood horrified.
"Why are you all so relaxed about this? This is not natural!"
"Nothing is natural about us to you. You didn't even know magic or monsters existed until a couple weeks ago." Sans pointed out.
"To be fair, I don't remember anything before I met you." I teased. I noticed Ink tense up at that statement. "Something wrong, Ink?"
"N-Nothing. Let's go before Error comes back." He quickly set off, the rest of us hurrying after him.
"Not so fast, Ink."
I spun around, and found Error grinning at us. I growled quietly.
"Now, that's no way to greet an old pal, is it, Y/n?" He chuckled evilly, watching my confused face.
"Who are you talking to?" I asked, looking around. "Nobody here is named Y/n."
He laughed hard at that. "You really don't remember, do you?"
Ink fidgeted around, attracting everyone's attention. "Ink? Do you know what he's talking about?" Sans asked.
"Well- I mean, uh... Ya see-" He stuttered, playing with the vials on his chest.
"Go ahead, Ink, tell them. They'd rather hear it from you than me."
Ink looked around nervously, then sighed. "I- I didn't always live in the Doodle Sphere. I used to have a universe- sort of. It was never completed. Unlike everyone there, I could feel things, and I didn't want to be forgotten. Soon, the world began to decay. People and things began to disappear into the multi-verse. I was one of the first people to go. Being the most-developed idea, I had the most substance, and could survive the strange environment. Once in the multi-verse, I found I could see the different universes around me. Now, at the time, I didn't understand what happened next, but I know now. One of the Creators- the higher beings who create AU's- gave me color, which gave me strength. With my new power, I painted a fake soul, and gave it to my sister, and sent her to a different universe before the whole thing collapsed. I thought she was long gone, because that fake soul could only last so long." Ink quieted down, staring at me.
"Wait, so you mean-?"
Ink slowly pulled out my soul, revealing its glittering, gold surface. Gaster gasped. "I've never seen a soul that color! That's incredible!"
"That's because it's not a real soul." Ink whispered.
I fixed the plot hole, and now we can REALLY get started!
Love you, my little stars!
