Chapter 8

They arrived at the cafe. "Camomile tea please," Liam asked.

"Chocolate frappuccino for me please," Mia asked.

"Alright, who's paying?" The woman, Bertha, asked.

"I am," Liam quickly said, whipping out his wallet.

"Liam, you already paid for the books, let me pay."

"Too late," Liam said as the barista took his money, "though, even if it wasn't too late, I still wouldn't have let you pay. Don't roll your eyes at me!"

"Fine, I won't." Mia grinned. "You wanna sit in the back?"

"Sure," Liam answered as he grabbed their drinks and thanked the barista. He followed Mia to a table for two in the back.

Liam sat down and set their drinks on the table. "Cheers." They said as they tapped their cups together and took a sip. They talked. If you asked either of them later what it was that they had talked about, they wouldn't be able to tell you. It wasn't small talk but it was comfortable; it felt natural. Without even thinking about it, Liam leaned forward. Mia did the same. As their faces grew closer and closer, their eyes locked, and slowly fluttered shut. Within seconds, their lips were pressed together. Mia's lips were slightly chapped, but Liam thought they were perfect. It was short and sweet, and chaste, but Liam loved every second of it. And he suspected Mia felt the same.

"Hey, Mia?" He asked once it ended.

"Yeah, Liam?"

"What's your full name?"

"Michael Quincey Bergard. And yours?"

"Liam Hugh Wick, but that's not important... Michael?"

"Yes?"

"Wi- will you be my boyfriend?"

"Yes." He breathed and with that, they lunged forward and shared the best kiss of all time.

This one was not short, or sweet, but rough and passionate and long. Soon Michael's lips parted slightly and Liam stuck his tongue in, exploring every crevice. Michael did the same, not caring at all, who was watching. Once they finally stopped, both their lips were puffy and red. They smiled. Liam took a sip of his tea and said, "You taste like chocolate."

Michael stared at Liam for a second... and snorted, almost spitting out his chocolate frappuccino. (Which would have been a shame, they're really good)
