Once he got home, he ran inside. It was Friday, and though he hated to admit it, he kind of was a bit of a nerd and finished all of his assignments in class, so he didn't have any homework. He kicked off his shoes, dropped his bag in the closet, and ran to his room. He shut the door behind him and jumped onto his bed. He yanked out his phone and called his best friend, Lilac. "Hello?"

"Hey L," Liam said.

"Hey L, what's up?" Lilac answered.

"I finally did it, I asked Mia out."

"Yes! I knew it! See, I told you today was the day! Can I assume by your mood that Mia said yes?"

"Yup!"

"I am incredibly happy for you, when is it? And where are you going?"

"It's tomorrow at two and we're going to the local bookstore."

"Does Mia like books?"

"Yes actually, Mia said, and I quote: You know, this is probably going to be the best date of my life. Sure, I've had guys bring me to movies and fancy restaurants and whatnot but no one has ever taken me to a bookstore. I fucking love bookstores."

"Well, that's great! Mia sounds perfect for you."

"You think so?"

"I know so."

"Thanks, Lilac, I have no idea what I would do without you."

"Die probably."

Liam snorted. "Thanks for having so much confidence in me."

"You're welcome. Listen, I'm a bit busy at the moment but I'll call you later or tomorrow. Definitely again before your date, okay?"

"Okay, bye."

"Bye!"

Lilac ended their call.
