The Scroll

Zuko's ship has been sailing for a straight 6 days since their incident in the fire nation. The news of a Tenshi's return spread fast, too fast for Lillian's liking. Search parties had been sent out for any news on the masked Tenshi or the Avatar. Lillian needed to let off some steam from all the stress, so she decided to go call on Prince Flame Brain to help her with that.

As Lillian walked down the halls of the ship, she passed Uncle Iroh's room only to find him on his hands and knees, "Uncle? What in Agni's name are you doing?" Lillian asked while leaning on the door frame. Iroh bumped his head at the sound of her voice, "Good Morning Fire Lilly, did you sleep well?" Iroh asked as he rubbed his head, Lillian had a small smile, "I did, Thank you Uncle. Now... Why are you crawling around on the floor?" Lillian asked as she stepped in to see if she could assist Iroh, "I seemed to have misplaced my lotus tile, I don't suppose you have seen it?" Iroh said as he moved his furniture around, "Nope, sorry Uncle." Lillian said as she walked back out the door, "I'm going to run some drills with Prince Grumpy, want to come watch?" Lillian asked as she skipped out the door, Iroh snickered lightly, "No, you have your fun." Lillian had a huge grin on her face.

Zuko sat in his room meditating, 'You must leave now Prince!' Zuko breathed in at the memory of the Tenshi saving his life, 'Your scar...' And then he breathed out at her words. He was recognized by the scar on his face, not for who he is. "Zuko?" Lillian's voice whispered through the closed door, " hm" Zuko responded, Lillian released a loud sigh, "Do you want to build an Ashman?" Zuko couldn't keep the smile that slipped on his face, "What do you want Lilly? I'm meditate-" BANG!!!!! "But I'm so BORED!" Lillian groaned as she barged in and collapsed onto his bed. Zuko stood from his lotus position, "What does that have to do with me?" Zuko asked but when Lillian sat up with that stupid grin on her face, he knew, "Time for some training or sparring? Whatever you prefer!" Lillian hummed as she got up and rocked on her heels. It took one look and Zuko gave in to her Puppy Porcupine eyes, "Fine..." Zuko groaned as he walked to the door. Lillian giggled as she fell in to walk beside Zuko, "soooo, What's on your mind? You haven't said much since we were on the island." Lillian asked as she popped her knuckles, Zuko on the other hand cracked his neck, "Just thinking..." Lillian gave Zuko a questioning look, "Well that's never a good sign, Prince Flame Brain... Thinking?" Zuko's brow twitched, "Lets just get some training done..." Zuko hissed as he brushed passed her. Lillian shrugged her shoulders, "I'm so not going easy on you today." she whispered as she followed him.

"Oof!" Zuko grunted as Lillian flung him onto the floor, "Again!" Lillian ordered as she circled Zuko, " Keep your feet apart and arms close," Zuko rose from the floor and raised his hands Lillian nodded as Zuko rushed towards her again, " Why don't you listen?" Lillian said as she blocked Zuko's attacks, "I'm doing as you say! My feet are together and my arms are-" Zuko's breath was forced out of his lungs when Lillian shoved him in his chest, "Apart! Your arms need to be close in order for you to protect your center!" Lillian said as she relaxed her stance. Zuko rubbed his chest, " Forget close combat, lets do some bending." Zuko said as he rolled over onto his back and bent flames from his feet. Lillian bought her hands together and made a pathway through the flames, " Flame on!" Lillian said with a toothy grin as she charged at Zuko. Lillian ran towards Zuko with her arms behind her engulfed in flames, "See if you can handle this!" Lillian yelled as she released a large fire ball at Zuko, but before Zuko could block her attack the whole ship tilted to the side causing Lillian and Zuko to stumble to the sides, "What in Agni's name?" Lillian gasped as she held the railings, "Someone's changing our course!" Zuko growled as he made his way to the control tower.

Zuko charged into the control room full of anger, "What is the meaning of this mutiny? No one told you to change course!" Zuko yelled, "Actually someone did." Lillian eyes fell on the source of the voice... Uncle Iroh, "Why do I have a funny feeling in my gut?" Lillian mumbled as she stared at Zuko, "I assure you, it is a matter of utmost importance Prince Zuko." Iroh said as he gazed at the Pai sho table. Zuko took a step forward, "Is it something to do with the Avatar?" Lillian rolled her eyes, "Even more urgent! It seems I, uh... I've lost my lotus tile." Iroh confessed as he adjusted his tiles on the table, Lillian face palmed, "Lotus tile?" Zuko questioned, "For my pai sho game. Most people think that the lotus tile is insignificant, but it is necessary for the unusual strategy that I employ." Iroh finished, "You've changed our course for a stupid lotus tile?" Zuko asked confused, Lillian raised her hands, "What's the harm in having a quick stop?" Iroh smiled at her, "Just give me 10 minutes to check the merchants at the port of Khan, hopefully they'll have the lotus tile in stock and I can get on with my life." Iroh said as he stroked his beard. Zuko lost his temper and breathed fire from his mouth, "I'm lucky to have such an understanding nephew." Lillian chocked, "Yeah, sure uncle..." Zuko gave Lillian a dirty look before he stormed out, "More like unlucky..." Lillian giggled.

Lillian joined Iroh in his search for his lotus tile even Prince tantrum joined them. As Iroh stopped at every store, Lillian took the time to do some shopping herself. Zuko stood beside Lillian, "We're wasting time here!" Zuko growled as Lillian browsed through the stalls. Lillian ignored the grumpy prince as she continued walking down the row of stalls. Lillian stopped at a stall that sold different color rocks which also seemed to have caught Zuko's attention, "Can I help you dear?" a frail old woman rose from the back of the stall, "What are these?" Lillian asked as she traced her fingers over the different colored rocks, "These my dear are believed to be the healing and cursing crystals of the Tenshi." Lillian's hand stopped just above a black crystal and her body froze at the old woman's words, "Cursing?" Zuko asked as he stood beside Lillian, "Yes young man, legend said that if you were ever to place a cursed crystal around a Tenshi's neck, they would forget all that is good and go on a rampage of war and destruction ." Lillian shivered at the woman's words. She knew the stories all to well, not only does a Tenshi forget their ways, no one is safe, even their loved ones can't do anything to save them. The only way to stop them would either to remove the crystal or death... "I'll take one." Lillian was bought back from her thoughts when Zuko's voice said those three frightening words. The old lady nodded her head and turned her attention back to Lillian "Anything for you dear?" Lillian nodded her head slowly, " I'll take a healing crystal if he's taking the cursed one." Lillian said as she laughed nervously and playfully pushed Zuko. The woman nodded her head and placed each crystal in a small bag, the black crystal wad handed to Zuko and the purple one to Lillian. Zuko bowed to the woman before walking back to his uncle, "If I may, where did you get these?" Lillian asked as she held up her bag. The old woman's face fell to anger, "stop being so nosey and leave!" Lillian rose her brow, "Okay then rock lady." Lillian mumbled as she followed Zuko, ' I need to get all those crystals away from her...' Lillian thought as she walked to Uncle Iroh and Zuko standing before a creepy ship, "Uh... Why are we going in there?" Lillian asked slightly creeped out. Zuko shook his head and just motioned for Lillian to follow him. Lillian followed unwillingly and wondered through the ship, "Oh! That is handsome, Lillian dear, don't you think it would look magnificent in the galley?" Iroh hummed as he admired a monkey statue with red ruby eyes. Lillian's eyes filled with fear, "Uncle, if you buy that I promise I'll break your tea pot!" she shrieked. Zuko shook his head and over heard the two men mention something about a monk? Before Lillian knew it Zuko had found out where the Avatar was, so they jumped on one of the life boats with some of the pirates and sailed down the river.

Lillian sat on the roof of the life boat watching the trees for any sign of the Avatar, "Shouldn't we stop to search the woods?" The pirate captain asked, "We don't need to stop." Lillian answered as she kept her eyes on the trees, "I wasn't speaking to you girl." The captain snarled, "They stole a waterbending scroll right?" Zuko interrupted, the captain nodded his head, "Then they'll be on the water." Lillian added as she stuck out her tongue to the pirate. Eventually the Pirate ship joined the search but Lillian didn't get a great vibe off of them, "Hey girly, why don't you come over here and sail with us?" One of the pirates flirted as Lillian climbed down from the roof, Lillian pinched her nose, " How about I go over there and burn you to a crisp?" Lillian asked with a small flame in her hand, the pirates smirk fell immediately. Zuko couldn't help but snicker at the scene playing out in front of him, "What's so funny?" Lillian asked as she placed her hands on her hips but before Zuko could respond, Lillian heard Katara's voice and so did everyone else.

Once the ship docked everyone sprung into action. As Lillian walked through the trees she heard Katara shriek and Zuko's voice, " Lillian, tie her up!" Zuko ordered. Lillian and Katara's eyes met for a second before Lillian broke away. Lillian tied Katara to a nearby try, "I hope this isn't too tight." Lillian whispered as she stepped away from the tree, Katara just shook head. Zuko stood beside Lillian as he began questioning her, "Tell me where he is and I wont hurt you or your brother." Lillian watched Katara's blue eyes, they were full of anger, fear and hurt, "Go jump in the river!" Zuko turned his head away before taking a different approach, "try to understand, I need to capture him to restore something I've lost, my honor. Perhaps in exchange I can help to restore something you've lost." Zuko held the necklace that they found weeks ago before her, "My mother's necklace! How did you get that?" Katara asked, "I didn't steal it if that's what your wondering." Zuko said in a sly tone, "Now, tell me where he is!" Katara looked away, "NO!" Suddenly Captain sexist walked up to Zuko, "Enough of this necklace garbage! you promised us the scroll!" Lillian stepped around Zuko and took the scroll from him, she took a few steps towards them before forming a flame in her hand and holding the scroll over it, "I wonder how much this is worth? A lot apparently" Lillian smirked at their gasps, "Now, be good little pirates and help us find who we are looking for, or else I turn this scroll into ash." The pirates didn't have any second thoughts as they split up and searched the woods. Zuko and his men soon joined after, "Keep and eye on her Lillian." Zuko ordered before he left. Lillian nodded her head, once they were gone she made her way to Katara and held out some water for her, "Are you thirsty?" Katara just stared at her, "How could you? Your Aang's Tenshi! And here you are working with the enemy as if it's okay!!!" Katara scolded, Lillian turned around in fury, "You have no right to judge me! Zuko may be your enemy, but his been my friend for years...and he wasn't always like this..." Lillian whispered, Katara rolled her eyes, "whatever..." Lillian rose her brow, " Do you know what it's like finding out that you're not like everyone else? That you have huge wings that explode from your back? That you can do things no one else can do just because your a Tenshi? No you don't, so shut up! I told Aang when the time is right. He wont get hurt if I'm around..." Lillian finished and turned her back on Katara.

An hour had passed when the Pirates returned with Aang and Sokka, "Aang, this is all my fault." Katara confessed, " No Katara, it isn't" Aang assured, "Actually, it kinda is" Iroh chipped in, "Uncle!" Lillian hushed. Lillian kept her eyes on Katara as Zuko made the deal with the Pirates, 'She has no right...' Lillian watched as the pirates began walking away with Aang and Sokka, "Whoa, what's going on?" Lillian said confused, " You will regret breaking a deal with me!" Zuko hissed before he attacked the pirates. Lillian rolled her eyes, typical Zuko to start a fight that could have easily been avoided. Lillian maneuvered through the smoke slowly towards the tree where Katara was, once she found her she untied the rope and disappeared back into the smoke to help Zuko. Lillian took out every pirate that attacked her, "Awww look at the weak wittle piwates." Lillian cooed in a baby voice as she looked down at the pile of men that lay before her. "It's no proverb!" Iroh yelled, Lillian watched as the Captain of the ship ran from a laughing Zuko? Wait... Zuko's laughing??? Lillian held her head, 'I think that lady gave me a crazy crystal.' "Lillian! Hurry up!" Zuko ordered as he ran after his own ship, " The things I do for you..." Lillian whispered to herself as she ran after Zuko. When Lillian got to the edge of the river she watched the pirate ship fall with the Avatar, luckily the bison swooped down and caught all of them before they got crushed, "MY Boat!" Zuko cried. Lillian placed her hand on Zuko's shoulder, "there, there. We can get another one." Iroh soon joined them but he was trying to catch his breath, "Prince Zuko, Lady Lillian, your both going to get a kick out of this." Lillian rose her brow as she turned to Iroh, "The Lotus tile was in my sleeve the WHOLE TIME!" Lillian gritted her teeth, "That's great Uncle..." but Zuko wasn't so happy, he snatched the tile out of Iroh's hand and threw it into the river, "Well that wasn't very nice." Lillian commented as Zuko walked past her, "Let's just get back to the ship.." Zuko groaned as he stomped off.

On their Journey back to the harbor, Lillian's eyes fell on the pouch that was attached to Zuko's belt, that's where he was keeping the cursed crystal, 'I need to warn Crest...' Lillian thought to herself as her mind fell back to the old woman with all the different crystals.
