The Crossroads of Destiny
Lillian and Zuko laid tangled against each other's bodies in the morning sunlight that shone through Zuko's bedroom window. The birds chirped at the window as a lovely scent of tea entered the room. The magnificent scent reached Lillian's nose and caused her stomach to swirl at the thought of having some of Uncle's jasmine tea...
Wait a minute....
Tea...
"Oh MY AGNI!" Lillian squeaked as she shot up.
"aahhhh!!!" *THUD*
Lillian rose her brow and looked over at the empty bed beside her. Zuko lay face first on the floor grumbling something about sleeping in, "What are you cursing for so early in the morning?" Zuko asked as he sat up on his knees. Lillian gazed at the grumpy prince as he rubbed his eyes, "We over slept!!!" Lillian hissed as she jumped out of the bed and began panicking, "Uncle is serving the earth king soon and we are still in our... our... " Lillian began looking around for her clothes, "We are still naked." Zuko said with a raised eyebrow. Lillian walked towards Zuko and tossed him his fancy robes, "Would you get dressed already!" Lillian stated in a slight panic searching for her bra. Zuko stood up and grabbed Lillian's arm and pulled her into his chest. Lillian stood wide eyed and started to blush realizing that both of them were still naked from the night before, that took a while to sink in, "Would you calm down for a minute." Zuko whispered as he held Lillian close and rested his chin on her head, "We have plenty time." Zuko whispered again as he scooped Lillian up in his arms and tossed her back onto his bed. Lillian tried to stand up again but Zuko stopped her by laying on top of her. Zuko took hold of Lillian's hands and placed them on either side of her head and caged her legs between his, "Zuko what if Uncle-" Zuko rolled his eyes, "Uncle is busy making tea, so in other words his too busy." Zuko whispered leaning down. Lillian forgot quickly about them over sleeping as Zuko placed a soft loving kiss on her lips, "Now... about last night..." Zuko growled in Lillian's ear, "what about it?" Lillian whispered as she felt his hot breath tickle her ear-
"Good Morning Prince Zuko! I Made you some-"
*Crash*
"eeeeeeeeppp!" Lillian squeaked before pushing Zuko right off of her and ripping the covers over her body.
Iroh tried to keep calm but felt his face heat, "Pa-pardon the intrusion but I made you tea--- well i did... it's uh on the floor now uh I uh-"
"Uncle, Uh We um... Could you, uh" Zuko stammered as he pointed towards the door,
"LEAVE!" Lillian cried in embarrassment from under the cover's.
Zuko face palmed as Iroh backed out of his room giving the young prince a thumbs up.
Once the door slid shut Lillian peeked out from under the cover's, "I TOLD YOU!" Lillian huffed as she smacked Zuko over the back of his head. Zuko rolled his eyes and picked up Lillian's undergarments and handed them to her, "Just shut up and get dressed." Zuko pouted and crossed his arms over his chest.
Once Lillian and Zuko were finally dressed they both walked cautiously out of Zuko's room. Iroh stood in the apartment gathering the rest of his things for his meeting with the earth king. When Lillian and Zuko stood in the kitchen Zuko cleared his throat, "So Uh... What can we help you with?" Zuko asked his Uncle. Lillian felt her cheeks blush even deeper
'oh man... I really didn't need Uncle walking in on us like that... What if he tells someone! eeep! What if he tells Grandpa Ping???? oh man I can see his face now.... And I am Betrothed to someone else........ but... I regret nothing,,,'
Lillian thought to herself as she watched Iroh try to avoid eye contact.
"Let us go so that we may be ready." Iroh said sternly but his face remained pink. Lillian squeezed her eyes as Zuko took her hand with a flushed face and pulled her towards the door, "He's way too busy..." Lillian said mimicking Zuko's voice from earlier that morning. Zuko gave Lillian a serious look that caused her to giggle, "Lets just go.." Zuko groaned.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Lillian climbed in the carriage she suddenly felt ill, "My dear, are you alright?" Iroh asked worried. Lillian held her head as she felt her shoulder's burn almost releasing her wings, "I'm fine Uncle, just tired." Lillian replied with a lopsided smile. Zuko became worried but Lillian squeezed his hand to assure him that she was fine,
When the carriage finally came to a stop Lillian stumbled out of the carriage and fell to her knees, "lland..." Lillian groaned. Lillian straightened as they walked towards the palace, "Many times, I imagined myself here, at the threshold of the palace. But I always thought I would be here as a conqueror...instead, we are the Earth Kings personal guests, here to serve him tea. Destiny is a funny thing." Iroh said as he smiled at Zuko and Lillian, "It sure is Uncle." Zuko smiled as he took hold of Lillian's hand and entered the palace.
Lillian gazed around the tall walls of the palace, "This is way bigger than the fir- hmmf!" Zuko clamped his hand on Lillian's mouth before she finished her sentence. Once Zuko pulled his hand away Lillian scratched the back of her neck nervously, "oops" Lillian mumbled gaining a stare from Zuko, "yeah... oops?" Zuko shook his head and followed his Uncle further down the halls.
They arrived at a large room with many shades of green and a small wooden table in the middle of the room with a few pillows around it and the Earth kings throne just before that, "Well we better get ready!" Iroh cheered as he began packing out his things, "Something seems a bit.... familiar." Lillian whispered to herself. Iroh sat back on his pillow and admired his table setting but then began fidgeting again, "Uncle, it's fine." Lillian giggled at the old man's nervousness, "What's taking so long?" Zuko asked annoyed. Lillian watched as Uncle slowly began pouring a cup of tea, "Maybe the earth King over slept?" Iroh shrugged as he tucked his hands into his sleeves.
Suddenly several Dai Li agents entered the room along with three men dress in black floor length cloaks and then....
Azula...
"It's tea time." Azula said in a mocking voice. Lillian felt her blood boil at the sight of the Fire nation Princess, "My lady, the palace is secured...." Said a deep hoarse voice. Lillian's eyes widened at the sound of the familiarity in the voice, "Azula!" Zuko said rushing to his feet. Mac and Lillian locked in a gaze of fury, "I'm sure you have met the Dai Li but what about Tenshi hunters? They have a killer instinct that is SO firebender." Azula smirked at Lillian, "I just love it." Lillian took a fighting stance, ready to do what was needed, "But you would know all about that... now wouldn't you... Lillian?" Azula mocked. Zuko recognized the man with Azula as the tenshi that attacked him and Lillian in the forest, "What is she talking about Lilly?" Zuko asked stepping back to take his stance beside Lillian, "I was goi-" Lillian was interrupted by Iroh, "Did I ever tell you how I got the nickname the "Dragon of the West"?" Iroh asked as he took the tea cup from the table, "I'm not interested in a lengthy anecdote, Uncle." Azula said as she examined her nails, "It's more of a demonstration really." Iroh said taking a sip of his tea. Zuko smirked before grabbing Lillian and ducking down as Iroh breathed a massive wave of fire from his mouth at the agents. Lillian swayed her arms and the sound of cracking lightning filled them room, "Get them!" Mac ordered. Lillian shot the lightning at the wall causing a large hole to form. Without hesitation she grabbed Zuko and pulled him through the hole with Iroh following right behind them, "Lillian! What's going on!?" Zuko asked in a rush as he shot fire at some agents. Lillian ignored Zuko, "JUMP!" Lillian shouted as she jumped out of the window and fell two stories before landing on the Earth King's bushes. Iroh followed right after Lillian but Zuko hesitated, "Come on! You'll be fine!" Iroh called out to Zuko, "No. I'm tired of running. It's time I faced Azula!" Zuko said before turning around and walking back, "Zuko!" Lillian yelled as the flames circled her body, "No! We must get help! Follow me!" Iroh ordered Lillian.
Zuko faced Azula, "You're so dramatic. What, are you going to do, challenge me to an Agni Kai?" Azula taunted, "Yes! I Challenge you!" Zuko said determined, "Please... You might want to save that anger for your so called friend." Azula said as she rolled her eyes and walked away. Zuko stepped forward and shot a large wave of fire at his sister but his flames were absorbed by one of the Tenshi hunter's with yellow eyes, "Lock him away." Azula ordered. Dai li agents worked swiftly to bind Zuko's arms behind his back. Mac walked closer to the fire nation Prince, "Now that we have the bait... We wait for the Princess to return for him." Mac sneered walking away. Zuko's eyes widened at realization..."No..it couldn't be...." Was all Zuko whispered as he was led away.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lillian ran close behind Iroh, "I can help him alone Uncle!" Lillian argued as they rushed through the palace gardens, "No! Now hush up and do as I say!" Iroh barked causing Lillian to slack down at his harshness but she shook it off and followed him further. Lillian spotted a Dai li agent rushing towards them, "Lillian! We need him for questioning." Iroh yelled as he dodged the agents boulders of earth. The agent suddenly sent a large boulder at Lillian at a sickening speed. Lillian stood her ground, "I've had it!" Lillian growled and with one slick movement of her fist, she caused the boulder to crash into dust. The agent stood baffled at the young girls strength not sure how she was still standing. Iroh took this as the perfect opportunity to take the agent out swiftly and quickly.
"Why are we keeping him?" Lillian groaned as she cleaned her knuckle's, "We'll need him to find Zuko." Iroh said as he finished tying up the agent. Lillian huffed before slinging the man over her shoulder effortlessly, "Where to now?" Lillian questioned, "The only people we can turn to." Iroh said as they stopped at a large house that seemed to be under construction. Lillian tossed the agent on the patio and knocked on the large door. There was silence and then the door swung open, "Glad to see that you're okay." Toph said with a large grin, "LILLIAN!" The Avatar cheered before tackling the Tenshi into a large hug, "Why is he here??" Sokka questioned and Lillian rubbed the back of her neck, "Funny story...." Lillian babbled, "We need your help!" Iroh begged. Sokka and Aang's eyes widened, "We might be in a bit of trouble." Lillian added as she held her fingers together. Aang took a step forward, "Could this maybe have something to do with Katara missing?" Aang asked worried. The Gang felt the room become warm suddenly, "So... She has Zuko and Katara." Lillian growled. Iroh placed his hand on Lillian's shoulder calming her down, "We need to work together to find Katara and Zuko." Aang said determined. Lillian nodded her head, "wait a minute... You lost me at Zuko!" Sokka said holding his boomerang, "I know how you must feel about my nephew. But believe me when I tell you there is good inside him." Iroh pleaded with the team, "If you wont trust Iroh, then trust me.... I know I lied about them being in the city... But we wanted to start a new life away from the fire nation and the war. " Lillian begged. Sokka stared into Lillian's crimson eyes before nodding his head, "Fine...". Iroh opened the door behind him and walked out to collect the agent that they had kidnapped, "We bought someone along who just might be able to help us." Lillian said with an evil grin, "I don't know why... But i like you dragon girl!" Toph said as she punched Lillian's arm. Lillian grinned at the earth bender's affection, "Right back at ya Pebble.." Lillian teased.
Sokka tackled the Dai li agent, "My sister! Where are they keeping Katara?" Sokka demanded angrily. The agent was silent not daring to give away anyone's position. Lillian grew agitated, she placed her hand on Sokka's shoulder and gestured him to step aside, "Hey little earth kingdom agent man..." Lillian cooed, "Remember that boulder you threw at me?" Lillian whispered slowly running her fingers gently across the agents face, "What I did to that boulder... Is going to look like baby food compared to what I'm gonna do to your FACE!" Lillian growled as a small flame escaped her mouth. Aang raised his hands in defense, "I don't think that's gonna-"
"In the crystal catacombs of old Ba Sing Se, deep beneath the palace. East side of the palace. first cave to your right!!!" Yelled the scared agent.
Aang's mouth fell open, "Never mind then...LETS GO!"
The Avatar and his friends rushed over to the Bison, "Let's move Lillian!" Sokka called over his shoulder. Lillian crossed her arms over her chest, "I have my own set of wings, no offense flufman." Lillian winked at Appa only to receive a growl, "I'm going with Lillian!" Toph cried as she tackled Lillian and held her at her waist, "Uh... Okay?" Lillian shrugged, "She hate's riding bareback." Aang said guilty. Lillian nodded and stepped back as she lifted her face to the sky, "I'm sorry Zuko..." Lillian whispered as a tear streaked down her face and her white flames began circling her body. Lillian's great white wings shot out and her mouth turned into a sad smile, "Let's do this!" Lillian said as she grabbed Toph and soared up into the sky. Aang looked back at Sokka and Iroh, "Appa, Yip Yip!" Aang called as they followed Lillian into the orange stained sky.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Well whaddya know. There is an ancient city down there, but it's deep." Toph said as she placed her hand on the cool earth. Lillian felt a large hand on her shoulder, "Are you ready my dear?" Iroh asked Lillian. Iroh watched as Lillian took in a deep breath and retracted her wings, "As ready as I'll ever be Uncle..." Lillian whispered grasping his hand and giving it a squeeze. Toph shifted her stance forming a crater in the ground. Sokka stepped forward and took hold of Toph's shoulder, "We should split up. Aang, you go with Iroh and Lillian to look for Katara and the angry jerk...no offense." Sokka said, "None taken." Iroh replied with a small shrug. Lillian stared down the crater of earth only to see darkness..." And I'll go with Toph to warn the Earth King about Azula's coup." Sokka stated before walking away. Lillian felt a small hand wrap around her's, "You ready to kick some butt Dragon girl?" Toph smirked causing Lillian to smile, "sure am, pebble." Lillian grinned, "How about you just call me the blind bandit?" Toph asked crossing her arms over her chest. Lillian held her chin in thought, "Nah... pebble's good for me." Lillian stated before following Iroh and Aang into the crater.
"So... How have you been?" Aang asked Lillian as she held a small flame in her hand, "Oh, um... Fine I guess." Lillian shrugged off the question and walked a head. Iroh watched the tenshi Princess, even though she held her head high... her heart was dragging on the floor. Aang sighed sadly but then straightened and began talking to Iroh, "So, Toph thinks you give pretty good advice. And great tea." Aang said as he bent the earth. Lillian walked silently and listened to their discussion, "The key to both is proper aging. What's on your mind?" Iroh questioned, "Well, I met with this Guru who was supposed to help me master the Avatar State, and control this great power. But to do it, I had to let go of someone I love, and I just couldn't." Aang said slumping his shoulders. Lillian's heart sank, "Perfection and power are overrated. I think you were very wise to choose happiness and love." Iroh said. Aang seems to be deep in thought as he waves his arms and moves the earth back, "What happens if we can't save everyone and beat Azula? Without the Avatar State, what if I am not powerful enough?" Aang asked lost and confused. Lillian turned to the Avatar, "Don't think like that." Lillian whispered, "I'm a Monk! not a Fighter. All my life I've been showed the peaceful way but now I..." Aang took a deep breath. Lillian placed her hand on his shoulder, "You be the monk... I'll be the fighter." Lillian whispered before she continued walking down the tunnel. Aang watched as Lillian walked down the tunnel, "She's never really needed anyone to fight for her." Iroh spoke as he gazed at Lillian, "I haven't known her for long but I can tell she is a very strong woman." Aang said waving his arms in an earthbending movement. Iroh smiled, "She's the type of girl that would look death straight in the eye and give it a wink." Iroh smiled at the thought of how far Lillian has come. Lillian looked over her shoulder and gave Aang a playful wink, "You know young Avatar, Sometimes life is like this dark tunnel. You can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving..." Iroh smiled as he felt a breeze and looked up at the clearing the avatar had made, "You will come to a better place." ...
Lillian's eyes widened at the beautiful site before her, The catacombs are full of glowing green crystals, stalagmites and stalactites. In the back of the area is a waterfall pouring into a channel forming two rectangles around several thick, jagged columns. Lillian scanned the room until her eyes fell on Zuko and Katara... Lillian growled under her breath at the sight of the waterbender standing close to HER boyfriend, "Aang!" Katara cries happily before running into his arms. Lillian broke into a sprint as she realized how worried she actually was about Zuko. Aang gave Zuko a threatening glare but Zuko turned his face away and scooped Lillian into his arms and spun her around, "I was so worried.." Lillian whispered into his chest. Zuko held Lillian at her shoulders and pushed her away slightly, "Uncle, I don't understand. What are you two doing with the Avatar!!" Zuko asks angrily as he points at Aang, "Saving you, that's what!" Zuko snarls at Aang and tried to lunge at him but Lillian stops him, "Zuko, it's time we talked." Iroh said. Lillian turned to Aang and Katara, "You guys should go help the other's, we'll catch up with you." Lillian said sternly. Aang clasps his hands and bows respectfully at Iroh before running out of the tunnel. Lillian watches as Katara turns and gives Zuko a sad look before following Aang, "Why Uncle..." Zuko asked stepping away from Lillian and his Uncle "You are not the man you used to be, Zuko. You are stronger and wiser and freer than you have ever been. And now you have come to the crossroads of your destiny. It's time for you to choose. It's time for you to choose good!" Zuko shuts his eyes, absorbing his uncle's words. Before he can process this wisdom, Zuko is startled by a violent quake. A trail of crystals shoots out of the ground until they reach Iroh, trapping him. Zuko and Lillian ready themselves for an attack. Azula and two Dai Li agents slide down from the tunnel Zuko had entered through. Mac flies in and stands beside the agents. Azula advances towards Zuko until she is directly between her uncle and Lillian, "I expected this kind of treachery from Uncle, but Zuko, Prince Zuko...you're a lot of things, but you're not a traitor, are you?" Azula taunted, "Release him immediately!" Lillian barked as her fists became encased in white flames, "It's not too late for you Zuko. You can still redeem yourself" Azula ignored Lillian, "The kind of redemption she offers is not for you." Iroh begged Zuko, "Zuko please... trust us..." Lillian begged as she took hold of Zuko's hand, "Trust? You expect my brother to trust a Tenshi?" Azula questioned with a evil glare. Lillian's eyes widened and she felt Zuko pull his hand away, "What is she talking about Lilly?" Zuko asked confused.
Lillian watched as Azula smirked, "Oh? You don't know?" Azula asked sarcastically as she circled Lillian, "It seems that your feelings for my brother are false, Princess." Azula stated as she buffed her nails, "Shut it Azula!" Lillian hissed, "NO! Either you speak or let her finish!" Zuko growled as he stood between his sister and girlfriend. Lillian looked away, "I will allow you to tell my brother the truth but don't leave out any details, Princess." Azula said proud. Azula knew what she was doing and how she loved tearing them apart. Lillian faced Zuko and embraced herself before taking a deep shaky breath, "I am one of them... I'm a Tenshi..." Lillian whispered. Zuko's eyes widened, "I'm the Princess of the Tenshi..." Lillian added ashamed. Zuko stumbled back as Lillian stared at him with tearful eyes. So many emotions ran through Zuko's mind, doubt, anger, fear and the most painful was his heartache. Zuko felt as if his heart had shattered, "Oh, darling Lillian... You left out the part about being the Avatar's protector! You're the reason my brother hasn't returned home." Azula smiled evilly as Mac stepped forward and stood beside her.
Lillian watched as Zuko stared at her with so much hatred and pain, "You!" Zuko yelled pointing a finger at Lillian "You made sure that he got away! It was always you! You were always in the WAY!" Zuko shouted as he threw his arms back releasing a few flames, "All those times I had him... You were the Tenshi that came and got him!" Zuko yelled even louder causing Lillian to fall back, "ZUKO!" Iroh growled trying to get the Prince's attention... "Your one of THEM, You're a TENSHI! You're the PRINCESS!!! I thought we never kept secrets from each other Lillian! You were always in the WAY! If it wasn't for you I would have been home over a year ago!" Zuko marched towards Lillian, "You never cared about anything but yourself! I bet you never even cared about me! Well, guess what! I was just spending time with you to get my mind off things, I never really cared about you!!!!" Zuko yelled with each step.
Lillian felt as if she was struck in her chest as all the air left her lungs, "come, brother... We have a city to conquer." Azula said as she and the agents left the cave. Lillian watched as Zuko gritted his teeth and look away from Lillian, "I was forbidden to share my secret..." Lillian whispered but Zuko shook his head before turning to follow Azula, "Zuko! Please listen to me!" Lillian begged as tears ran down her face. Zuko hesitated as he heard Lillian's voice break but instead of turning around he kept walking.
Lillian fell to her knees and cried her heart out. Iroh watched with a broken heart as Lillian's shoulder's trembled, "My dear..." Iroh whispered but Lillian turned away and sobbed further. there was a small explosion and green crystals fell everywhere. Iroh rushed to Lillian's side and pulled her into his chest, "He threw me away Uncle... I knew this would happen" Lillian cried and leaned into Iroh's chest. The old general held Lillian close trying to think of the right words to mend a broken heart for battle, "Sometimes you have to fly away from what you want in order to find what you deserve." Iroh said softly. Lillian lifted her head, "I'm done fighting Uncle... I give up... I'm done..." Lillian whispered. Iroh frowned, "You can't give up! I will not allow it! Your story is far from over my dear. The Avatar still needs you and so does his friends, your family needs you, I need you, the world needs you! And even though it seems impossible now... Zuko needs you even if he doesn't know it. But your destiny has changed, Embrace it and live it out until your last breath." Iroh spoke as he lifted Lillian and began walking to the raging battle that awaited them.
Lillian felt her shoulders burn with each step she took, with each breath she felt her fists tighten... She's done getting hurt... She's done hiding who she is... Tonight she will unleash all her fury...

(Music video for the fight scene, sorry... its metal. Dead by April - Playing with fire... I love the lyrics and feel that this would be perfect for Lillian and I love the video with the angel!)
Lillian broke into a blazing sprint as she watched orange and blue blasts of fire fly around. Lillian's body was engulfed in brilliant white flames as she released her wings.
Aang and Katara were cornered by The fire nation royals and all the agents. Mac stood beside Azula and smirked, "One roasted Avatar, coming up!" Mac yelled as all three fire benders attacked with a large stream of fire. Katara closed her eyes in fear and Aang stood forming an airball but he was blinded...
A bright glow filled the catacombs and the flames that Mac, Azula and Zuko shot at the avatar formed into a fiery vortex around them. When Aang opened his eyes he was relived to see Lillian standing before him, protecting him. She kept her promise, "Aang! We need to get out of here!" Lillian called as she guided the flames around them, "There's too many of them! There are dai li agents and Tenshi's! How do you expect us to get past them!?" Aang asked in a panic. Lillian knew that there was no way they were going to make it out in one piece but she has to try!
Suddenly...
Three cloaked figures flew through her walls of fire and land before her. Aang takes a defensive stance, "I vote we leave here... together!" Lillian smiled a toothy grin, "You guys have amazing timing!" Lillian cheered as her brother's and Crest removed their hoods, "Oh! It's you guys!" Aang said as he relaxed. Shin and Shane took over from Lillian allowing her to relax, "what's the plan?" Crest asked as he stepped forward with four poaches of water strapped to his waist, "I need to unlock the Avatar state..." Aang said sadly before closing himself in a crystal tomb, "Crest! You stay with Katara and look out for Aang. Shin! You need to take out those Dai Li agents Shane and I will handle the rest!" Lillian said as she began walking towards the flames. Lillian stretched out her arms and raised her wings as she stared at the flames. Shin and Shane took hold of their sisters hands forming a small human chain. Crest watched as the siblings prepared for a life changing battle. Shane looked down at his baby sister and then up at his brother who shared the same worry in his eyes, "We should feel Honored Shane!" Shin called with a smirk, Shane rose his brow, "For what?" Lillian asked as she watched the flames change colors, "You are leading your first battle! And we... We're your right hand- and left, men! We will live to serve the mighty Princess!" Shin said in a dramatic tone causing Lillian and Shane's faces to fill with worry. Lillian rolled her eyes but then began grinning like a catdeer that stole milk, "Shin! She's got that freaky smile again!!" Shane said as the sweat beamed at his brow, "Remember that game we used to play when we were kids? The one where we tried to see who could knock down the most dummies and targets?" Lillian asked as she looked between her brother's, "King of the circle?" both brother's said confused, Lillian nodded, "Loser carries Kasai out of the city." Lillian grinned as both boys shoulder's slumped as if they have already failed.
The flames flowed into different colors as they lowered the curtain of flames... white...blue...purple...green...orange and then nothing.
Lillian and her brother's faced a large army, "Let's do this!" Shane cried as he and Lillian took to the sky and Shin attacked the Dai li agents, "I feel so ALIVE!" Shin cheered as he knocked out the agents with speeding balls of fire. Mac sent a large of fire at Lillian causing her to dive down to the ground. Lillian placed her hands before her and allowed the flames to pass her like a hot breeze, "What's the matter Princess? Can't you handle a little bit of heat?" Mac taunted as he stepped closer. Lillian stood and held her fists before her readying herself for her his attack, "I can handle it..." Lillian mumbled as Mac came closer, "Your so dramatic!" Mac yelled before charging at Lillian sending her flying back with a strong upper cut. Lillian crashed into a wall of crystals and receiving a few stinging cuts.
"Lillian!" Cried Crest as he watch Lillian's form struggle to stand. Zuko stopped his attack on the water tribe girl at the sound of Lillian's name, "no..." Zuko whispered, another internal battle formed within Zuko to protect his best friend, the girl her love... but she was still the girl who had lied to him.... Zuko resumed his attack on Katara but was failing. She was too strong for him. Zuko felt a gush of water lift him and toss him back. The wind hit Zuko's face from the strength of Katara's attack. Zuko's eyes widened as he saw he was approaching a section of sharp crystals that could end up killing him. Zuko shut his eyes and braced himself for the impact...
nothing.. except warmth and pure heat surrounding him..
Zuko opened his eyes to see that he was encased in something white... He laid on something or.. Someone
"You ok?" Lillian's voice whispered from behind him as she opened her wings that were now bleeding from the crystals. Zuko stumbled back in shock...
Shocked at the fact that Lillian would still risk her life for him after what he had said. Before Zuko could say anything Lillian was attacked with fire burning her right arm, "aahhhh!" Lillian hissed as she turned her attention back to Mac. Crest decided to intervene, "get away from her!" Crest yelled as he and Mac fought off in hand to hand combat. Lillian held her arm in pain but felt Zuko's eyes on her. Crimson and Gold eyes danced with so many emotions causing pain and anger to multiply into Lillian's new found strength and Zuko's ANGER...
Lillian sent blasts of fire at mac but was stopped by Zuko's flames, "Get out of my way Zuko! Mac is too dangerous to-"
"Your too dangerous! You need to be locked away! All the tenshi's do!" Zuko growled as he sent an endless stream of fire at Lillian.
"The fire nation needs to be extinguished!" Crest yelled as he turned to join Lillian.
Lillian noticed that Mac was unconscionable not too far from them, "Your people have scared the world and we've been trying to keep it in balance ever since the Avatar disappeared those years ago!" Crest argued.
Zuko felt so much rage that he sent a ruthless amount of fire at Crest. Lillian watched in fear as Crest bought his water up with a determined smirk but...
it wasn't enough.
Steam covered the area but Lillian could see clearly as Zuko's flames slammed into Crest's chest and the smell of burning flesh filled Lillian's lungs, Crest's water fell and so did he, "NO!!!!! CREST!" Lillian cried as the tears fell from her eyes. Zuko stood shocked with his fists still outstretched, "Lilly I-"
"YOU KILLED HIM! HIS NOT MOVING!" Lillian cried as she fell to her knees at Crest's side,
"Lilly I didn't mean to-" Zuko tried to apologies
"CREST!" Lillian screamed causing her brother's to pause their own battles from their sister's cry. Zuko ran to Lillian but was shoved back by her brother Shin, "Stay Away from MY SISTER!" Shin yelled breathing fire. Zuko looked shock but took the warning and left.
Suddenly there was a bright light that filled the catacombs. Lillian lifted her head to see Aang in the Avatar state, "the Avatar's returned." Shane said as he collected Crest's limp body. Lillian stared in amazement at Aang's power but her awe was destroyed by the sound of lightning and a great flash took over.
No... Aang.
Lillian felt a ringing sensation in her ears as everything slowed down.
Aang's body fell and so did Katara's will to fight. Lillian clenched her fists and expanded her wings. Zuko watched at Lillian's great speed as she flew to the Avatar catching him right before he hit the ground.
Lillian's knee's scrapped the floor as she came to a stop. Katara rushed towards her and took Aang into her arms. Shin and Shane landed beside the girls and watched as Katara's eyes filled with tears, "no..." Katara whispered. Lillian watched as the Agents and hunters stalked closer and soon Azula and Zuko. Lillian had no strength left and neither did her brother's but they Will fight till their last breath.
There was a large explosion of flames before Iroh jumped in front of them, "You need to get out of here! All of you!" Iroh said as he gave Lillian a stern Look, "Uncle, no!" Lillian whispered, "I'll hold them off for as long as I can! You need to go! You are our only hope!" Iroh said in between blasts of fire. Lillian nodded, "I'll come back for you Uncle! I promise!" Lillian whispered as she picked Katara up and flew up the waterfall. Shin followed closely behind his sister and brother who was carrying Crest's body.
Iroh looked lowered his hands and watched as Lillian's white wings disappeared, "Thank you, Princess." Iroh whispered before he was trapped in crystals once more. Zuko didn't meet his Uncle's gaze but he knew that he had broken two hearts...including his own.
Lillian found Sokka and the Earth king. They loaded Crest's body onto Kasai and fled the city, "The earth Kingdom has Fallen..." The Earth King said sadly. Lillian's tears flowed emotionless from her eyes as they flew beside Appa and watched the fire nation infiltrate the city...
Sokka watched as Lillian clenched her jaw and trembled, he reached out his hand and took hold of her's. Lillian felt Sokka pull her towards Appa. Lillian retracted her wings and sat on the bison's back beside Toph. Lillian gave Sokka a thankful smile before Toph wrapped her arms around Lillian's waist and cried silently.
