The Awakening
Lillian meditated beside Crest's limp body. Katara had healed him but he laid unconsciousness just like Aang down the hall. Katara had healed him to the best of her ability but he wouldn't wake up. Shin and Shane suggested that they should take Crest to the sky temple where hopefully one of the temple nurses could take care of him, But... Lillian refused... He got hurt because he was protecting her! There was a soft creek as the metal door opened and then closed, "Lillian..." Thorn's voice spoke softly. Lillian's eyes opened slowly, "It's time..." Thorn said as he placed his hand on Lillian's shoulder. Lillian felt her eyes burn as the tears formed. Lillian nodded her head, "Give me 5 minutes please..." Lillian's voice broke. Thorn gave Lillian a light squeeze and then left the room quietly.
"Crest... Can you here me?" Lillian's voice trembled as she took his hand tightly in her's, "I'm so sorry... I tried to keep the peace, but... I can't do it alone... Please wake up soon..." Lillian said as she placed the purple healing crystal over his wounded chest. Lillian gave Crest a small sweet kiss on his forehead. Shin and Shane entered the room along with their father, "He'll be fine Lilly. The sister's will know what to do." Shane said as he hugged his sister. Shin nodded in agreement while lifting Crest, "Trust us." Shin smiled. Lillian looked away as her lip trembled, "See you soon little sister." Shane said as he kissed the crown of her head, Lillian walked with her brother's to the deck where they laid Crest down on a make shift stretcher, "We'll catch up with you soon, Promise." Shin said as he now hugged his little sister, "Stay strong and keep these kids out of trouble." Shin grinned as Lillian gave him a small smile, "Hey! We're not kids!" Sokka's voice cracked. Katara smacked Sokka behind his head and then grinned at Lillian, "Ignore him"
Shin and Shane greeted their father and friends, "Good Luck everyone!" The brother's called as Blue and Red flashed before them, "How come they have different colored wings?" Sokka asked while stroking an imaginary beard, "Easier to tell them apart." Thorn said in a bored tone gaining a confused look from Sokka and a tight giggle from Lillian, "Father!" Thorn shrugged before walking towards Hakoda and Bato.
Lillian POV
Toph, Katara and I stood at the railing enjoying the light ocean breeze, "so..." Toph spoke while picking her ear, "Why do they have different Wings?"I watched as Katara's face turned green when Toph licked her finger, eeew...
"Honestly, We don't know. I mean in the beginning we thought it was to separate the elemental temples but we have Fire Tenshi like my brother who have blue wings and my friend Ling who is an Earth tenshi and she has Pink wings. Maybe the ancients spilled their color ink over the temples by mistake." I spoke twirling my crystal, "But we never really asked those question because it never bother us." I felt Katara's eyes on me, "Why did you never tell Zuko? I mean you two were so close." I felt my chest tighten at the sudden question. How do you answer that? Ugh! I don't like questions! I groaned mentally... But my mind drifted back to ba sing sai... The hurt and anger that swam in Zuko's golden eyes still haunts me, but after last night... I know exactly why I never told him... "He was to obsessed with Aang and pleasing his father... As much as I wanted to tell him... I couldn't." I took a shaky breath, "When my brother's and I crossed paths a while back. Zuko saw a tenshi for the first time in his life. After that Zuko and I were captured by Merci-Lee, a dark and powerful tenshi who turned her back on us when my grandmother denied her the throne. Zuko wanted to hunt down and capture a tenshi so after hearing that I knew that I would have to wait... But I guess I waited too long." My voice broke as a tear slid down my cheek, I felt Katara's hand on my shoulder, "I'm sorry... I'll be here if you ever need to talk." Katara said with a warming smile. I nodded at her and watched as she walked towards Sokka in his guard outfit, "So... Did you love him?" I heard Toph asked softly. I gazed over at the small girl. Her milky eyes are set dead straight, "yeah... I do." I whispered but before i could add more to my sentence, "Twinkle-Toes, that's got to be you!" Toph cheered as she turned around. I was a bit confused at the odd nickname but when I saw Aang standing there I felt so relieved and full of life. I watched with a smile as everyone hugged the young Avatar. Aang turned to me and had a surprised face, "Your here! W-with us! does this mean that-" I watched as Aang held his head and slightly wobbled, "Uh-oh! Somebody catch him, he's gonna..." without a second thought I skid across the deck and catch Aang's head in my lap, "I've got you little buddy... I promise..." I whisper as I rub Aang's head.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Why are we on a Fire Nation ship? Why is everyone dressed this way? And why am I the only one out of it?" Aang bombarded Katara and Lillian with questions, "You need to take it easy, o.k? You got hurt pretty bad" Lillian said smiling, "I like your hair..." Katara said swiftly. Aang gave the girls a shocked look, "I have hair!!! How long was I out?" Aang rushed, "A few weeks" Katara answered while looking at Lillian, "It's thanks to Lillian and her brother's that we could pull this off." Aang looked up at Lillian, "Pull what off?" Aang asked confused, "Tell you what little buddy, you need to have some tea. I'll explain everything on deck once you two join us." Lillian said giving Katara a sly wink as she walked out.
Lillian closed the door behind her and released her breath, "The Avatar is back..." Lillian smirked before making her way to the kitchen.
When Lillian returned she saw Aang greeting Hakoda and Katara with an unhappy face, "Okay... um who wants tea?" Lillian grinned trying to lighten the mood. Everybody nodded and so Lillian poured. Suddenly Aang groans in pain and Toph drops her tea, "What did you do dragon girl?" Lillian shut her eyes contain her heat, "Sure, blame the firenation..." Toph grinned, "Lillian, would you help me take Aang back to his room?" Katara's voice spoke. Lillian nodded before lifting Aang from his feet, "Hey! I can w-walk you know!" Aang shrieked at the sudden movement of Lillian lifting him effortlessly, "I don't want to piss of the water tribe Princess" Lillian whispered gaining a glare from Katara, "KIDDING!" Lillian rolled her eyes. Lillian placed Aang down on his bed, "Let me know if you need any help." Lillian said, "Oh don't worry. I'll just do a quick session." Katara smiled but Lillian grinned, "I was talking to Aang." Katara gasped with a giggled and threw an old rag at Lillian, "Missed me!" Aang smiled, "I take it you two get along." Katara rolled her eyes, "She's like an annoying big sister." Aang laughed, "I've always wanted a big sister."
Lillian POV
"I've always wanted a big sister." I heard Aang laugh with Katara. I couldn't help but smile. These crazy kids are going to drive me crazy, "Lillian." I looked beside me to see my father standing in some training clothes, "Want to challenge your old man to some sparring?" my father asked with a soft smile. "Sure... Just let me change."
Normal POV
Sokka and his father were looking over a map when Lillian and her father stepped out in firebending clothes, "Woah, where's the fire?" Sokka asked before he and his dad burst out laughing, "right here!" Lillian growled as she held a blue flame in her hand. Sokka raised his hands in defense, "Bad joke... sorry." Lillian rolled her eyes, "My dad and I are going to do some sparing." Thorn nodded as he placed down his robe, "Like an duel?" Hakoda asked, "No, I don't want to hurt her Honor." Thorn said taking his stance. Lillian's eyebrow twitched, "Thanks... I guess?" Just as Lillian took her stance, everyone else came out along with Aang and Katara, "Kick his butt dragon girl!" Toph cheered as she fist pumped the air.
Lillian placed her hands opened before her as her Father took a stance similar to her grandpa, "oh shit..." Lillian knew that stance... That was the 'I'm about to get my ass kicked' Stance, "Ready Princess?" Thorn teased only to receive a hot ball of fire at his feet, "quit your yapping old man and fight!" Lillian grinned as she ran towards Thorn. Lillian sent blazing streams of fire at Thorn but they were not enough. Thorn jumped over her flames and spun his leg in a helicopter movement forming a ring of fire around himself. Lillian ran faster and broke through his fire ring, "Knock knock!" Lillian grinned as her father stumbled back. Thorn raised a wall of fire and shoved it towards Lillian. There gasps at the large amount of fire but Lillian didn't move. Aang stared at Thorn who seemed to be enjoying himself, 'Did firenation parents enjoy burning their kids?' before Lillian could block the attack there was a hard gush of wind, "Awww Man! I had that one!" Lillian whined, "I think that's enough for today dear." Thorn said as he felt Aang's glare. Lillian raised her brow as she looked between Aang and her father, "Am I missing something?" Lillian whispered. Thorn sighed before leaving the deck. Lillian shrugged before leaving to the bathroom.
Lillian stretched her arms out and found Sokka and Aang sitting with rest of the Gaang "I was just explaining to Aang our invasion plan." Sokka said proudly as Lillian slouched beside him, "Why don't you look so happy little buddy?" Aang looked rather peeved but before anyone could finish a horn from another ship gains their attention, "ugh... What now!" Lillian growled, " I'll handle this. The Avatar is back!" Aang said but groaned in paid, "Don't make me extract the heat from your body little buddy!" Lillian scolded Aang. Everyone stared at Lillian confused, "Aang, wait. Remember, they don't know we're not Fire Nation." Katara added, "Everyone just stay calm. Bato and I will take care of this." Hakoda said, "Give me your mask Sokka." Lillian said fixing her armor. Sokka seemed offended but handed his helmet over as soon as Lillian growled with flames escaping her mouth.
Lillian stood beside Hakoda and Bato in her guard uniform in case something went wrong. The bridge was lowered between the two ships and three men approached them, "Commander, why are you off course? All Western Fleet ships are supposed to be moving toward Ba Sing Se to support the occupation." Lillian stood silently, "Actually, we're from the Eastern Fleet. We have orders to deliver some cargo." Hakoda replied with a bow, 'The hand position is WRONG!' Lillian yelled in her head, "Ah, Eastern Fleet. Well, nice of Admiral Chan to let us know he was sending one of his ships our way." The captain said while tapping his chin, 'Chan? as in Chan jnr's dad? hmf, snall world.', "I am sure Admiral Chan meant no disrespect, sir." Bato added, "I mean, how hard is it to write a quick note and send a hawk our way?" Lillian smiled under her mask, 'You have no idea.', "Next time, we'll send two hawks to be sure you get the message." Hakoda assured the captain as he bowed and then started walking back, "that went rather-"
"They KNOW!" Toph yelled before earth bending the three men off there bridge, "Never-mind" Lillian face palmed as everyone took their places for battle, "Lillian! Cover us from the skies, I'll try to give us some cover!" Katara yelled. Lillian walked slowly towards the bow of the ship, "Finally some action" Lillian grinned as her white flames circled her feet, "Load the Toph!" Toph yelled from behind Lillian, "Let's light em up!" Lillian cheered as she shot up to the sky. Toph earthbent boulders towards the ship as Lillian caught their fireballs and redirected them back, "I am not in the mood to singe my clothes!" Lillian yelled as the enemy shot another ball of fire, "FINE! You asked for it!" Lillian flew to the back of the ship and dove into the water, "What is she doing????" Sokka asked shocked. Toph smirked, "She's finishing them up!" Suddenly the enemies ship's nose began tilting in the ocean, "Is she tipping the boat?" Sokka asked slightly frightened at her strength but the boat fell back and there was silence... The enemy ship seized fire as they were still filled with shock at the ship being lifted.
Lillian burst out of the ocean at great speed, "DEMON FISH!!!!!" Lillian screamed flying away from the ship only to be followed by a large green serpent, "Not him again!" Sokka groaned but then got a great idea, "Lillian!" Sokka called at the tenshi who was avoiding the serpents snapping snout, "WHAT?" Katara took her stance, "Lead him to the other ship! It will attack them if you make him swim into it!!!" Lillian nodded before pulling the serpents whisker, "Hey! Ugly! Can't catch me!" Lillian teased the serpent. The serpent hissed at Lillian before diving into the water following Lillian as she led him to the other ship. "Stupid Sokka. Stupid plan! Why do I have to be the BBBAAAIIITT???" Lillian was so caught up that she didn't see the serpent raise out of the water in front of her but instead of hunt her, it wrapped it's body around the other ship, "awesome Sokka with his Awesome plans..." Lillian whispered.
"Is everyone alright?" Lillian called as they were in the clear, "Yeah, we're good. We going to stop soon for some food." Sokka said with a dreamy expression, "Great! Get me my usual. I'm going to lay down for a bit, my arm is killing me." Lillian said holding her injured arm. Katara and Sokka nodded and left to find Aang.

Lillian POV
His golden eyes, his loving arms, his warmth... I miss it all. I was so restless! I just need to sleep but I can't... This pain in my chest has become unbearable... Why couldn't it have been different? Why couldn't we just be together, happy like we were in Ba sing Sai...
Normal POV
"oh Zuko" Lillian whispered with teary eyes,
Lillian's door burst open, "He's GONE! AANG's gone!" Katara cried as she fell on her knees, "He just left me!" Lillian sat up, "What?" Lillian gasped.
"Katara! Lillian! we need to go find him!" Sokka called as he ran down the hall with their supplies.
Lillian greeted her father farewell as did the watertribe siblings, "come Kasai." Lillian called the Lionshark to her side on Appa's saddle, "We'll find him Katara, I promise." Sokka held his sister. Lillian pulled Toph onto Appa's saddle and stood with her wings raised, "I'm going ahead, maybe I can find him before he does something stupid." Lillian said through her gritted teeth, "Lillian, Be careful and look after yourself..." Thorn said with a sad smile. Lillian nodded at her father then took off with Appa following behind her.
The clouds were a disturbing grey as Lillian flew in the icy rain,
"Aang!!!!!" Lillian called as she tried to find the missing avatar, "Aang! Where are you?" Lillian cupped her hands over her mouth as she called. Lillian sighed in defeat as she hovered in place,
"Hello Young Princess."
Lillian turned to face Avatar Roku's spirit, "Avatar Roku..." Lillian spoke as she bowed, "You have come a long way my dear. I understand that you have had some hard times." Roku spoke with a smile, "I didn't think that I was a strong person until I came to my cross road." Lillian whispered. Roku looked towards a volcanic Island, "You know Princess... I have never met a strong person with an easy past. You have redeemed yourself. The Avatar and his friends are lucky to have you at their side, but I fear that in a time of peace is when you will have your greatest battle but then you will be strong enough." Roku said as his light faded away towards the island. Lillian followed Avatar Roku's light, "What did he mean about that?" Lillian thought as she approached the volcano island. There on the shore she found Aang's staff but where could he, "Your ok!" Lillian heard Katara's voice, "Hey dragon girl! Over here!" Toph called from the shoreline. Lillian jumped the rocks to Aang and landed gracefully beside him, "hey little buddy... I found your ah... air stick thing." Lillian stammered as she tried handling the staff with care. "That's okay. If someone saw it, it would give away my identity. It's better for now that no one knows I'm alive" Aang said smiling. The group came together and shared a warm hug. Lillian wrapped her great wings around the group and gave them a toothy grin, "This is going to be one hell of an adventure!"
