Chapter 5: A Portal To A Solution
Fawn's POV
"Fawn, you're back!" Cosmelia shouted, laughing as the two of us hugged each other.
"I was worried that Notch would fail to keep his promise." I said quickly, stepping backwards.
"Erm..What did I miss?" David asked, looking at the group curiously, and somewhat obliviously. "I think I missed a major chapter in this story."
"...Yeah, you did." Herobrine said, putting a hand on David's shoulder as the teenager froze. "Speaking of chapters and books, I think you want to see something Fawn."
"Hmm?" I asked, looking at Herobrine in confusion. "I'm not a writer..so what exactly would you want me to see?"
Herobrine glitched for a moment before looking back at the group. "Well..it's something that you would need to see to believe."
"Alright then." I said slowly, looking back at David and Cosmelia.
Poor Cosmelia...did she know that Sparrow had betrayed us? Nah, I doubt it. Based off that knowing gaze, she would have said something before if she had known. Oh well, it wasn't a first that something like this had happened.
"Am I interrupting something?" Vortex asked, looking at me warily. "And who's this, someone else on your quest?"
"David, this is Vortex..Notch's rebel daughter." I said, the two of them glaring at each other. "And uh..David is a Creeper Prince in other words I would say? Do you two know each other?"
"...You could say that." David said slowly, gripping his sword tightly as he looked at Vortex.
"Oh, David dear, keep your hands of that sword, would you?" Vortex said calmly, and smirked as David gripped it tighter. "Fawn, this was one of my colleagues on a quest of mine. One of the more traitorous ones might I mention?"
"Ha, if only that was true." David scoffed. "If my memory serves me right, you were the one who got us all caught by Notch's forces. You got Herman and Gia killed for that pretty little gem of yours!"
Vortex smiled and twirled a fairly small emerald in her hand. Other than the fact that it was glowing slightly and radiated power, it didn't strike me as the 'get killed on a quest for' item.
"This 'pretty little gem' isn't just something you can mine." Vortex said, smiling. "This has the ability to well, create and destroy items."
"And what's that going to help us with in battle!" David shouted, nearly losing his cool. "I mean, let's just continue on with what Herobrine was saying."
"Well, thank you." Herobrine grumbled, and gestured to the door to his palace. "Now, would you five stop arguing and come in already?"
"Five?" I asked, looking at Herobrine.
"Well, Angel over there is hiding, a pathetic excuse for hiding anyways," Herobrine said, and Angel snorted a puff of steam. "And you've completely ignored Cara. Speaking of which, how are you doing kid?"
"Fine." Cara said stiffly, looking at Herobrine uncomfortably.
"Look, let's just go." Angel growled, lashing his tail as he padded next to me.
"Of course." Herobrine said, and the group padded into the palace.

"What the-" I said as Herobrine uncovered the portal.
The portal was lined with emeralds, and the general structure of the portal was steel. However, instead of the interior of the portal green or even a dark gray, it seemed to be a sunset red. Through the portal, I could vaguely see the silhouette of a bustling metropolis in the distance.
"Where does this lead?" Angel asked, tapping a claw on the top of the portal. The portal shook a little as the steel bars shifted slightly, the connection flickering between the two worlds.
"Hey, careful with that, would you!" Herobrine exclaimed as Angel took his claw off the portal. "This thing only appeared thirteen hours ago!"
"Wait, huh?" Cosmelia said, sticking her staff in the portal and flinching as sparks came off her staff. "That's not good for magic.."
She quickly pulled her staff out of the portal and flinched as the staff flickered.
"Yeah, it's kind of a...testy situation." Herobrine said, rubbing his arm awkwardly. He quickly pushed a note into my hands. "But I think a friend of yours came here with a message."
I looked down at the note and started reading it aloud for all to hear.
Dear Fawn,
So, you don't know who I am. Well, you shouldn't anyways. See that portal?
I quickly looked at the portal and then looked back to the note.
Well, that's a work of mine. Step through it, and I'll see to it that we meet. Trust me, you want a powerful ally? I think I'd be on the top of the list, quite frankly.
Send in someone else, I dare you. But I think that knowing you're the reckless person you are, you'd run through that portal without any second thoughts. Go on, check with your group of friends. I'll be waiting.
-A Friend (Or you can assume otherwise)
(P.S. Friends are welcome to come if that reassures your father.
I folded up the note and stuck it in my pocket. The group eyed me curiously, especially Cosmelia. Did she know something about this?
"Well, I don't know about this," Cosmelia said, quickly putting that train of thought to a screeching halt. "But I think you should go through; they don't sound like they mean you any harm."
"Sound like?!" Herobrine roared, stabbing his sword into the ground as everyone, including myself flinched. "I'm not losing my daughter to someone that claims they live in this other world!"
"If it reassures you, I can come with Fawn." Cosmelia said, walking to my side.
"As can I." David said, and stood on my right side. I blushed ever so slightly as his arm grazed mine.
"So can I!" Angel shouted, flapping his wings and accidently knocking Herobrine to the side of the wall. "Whoops.."
"I think you should stay Angel." I said, flinching as I heard objects clatter to the ground and shatter into several pieces. "Given that you're bigger, and well...unusual."
"Oh, I get it." Angel sulked, his wings drooping on the ground. "You don't want me."
"Well, quite frankly, I doubt you'd fit through the portal." David said thoughtfully.
"I could fix that." Cosmelia said, rummaging through her cloak and then pulled out a milky blue one. "This could alter sizes."
"Please?" Angel asked, his eyes becoming extremely sparkly and adorable that I just had to say yes.
"Quit that look and I'll say yes." I muttered, unwillingly agreeing to Angel's request.
~~~~
Everyone stood in front of the portal, each with a different gleam in their eyes.
~
Fawn, with a gleam of concern and worry, but also a yearning for answers.
~
Cosmelia, with a gleam of giddy excitement and impatient in her eyes.
~
And David with a sense of wariness and also a bit of overprotectiveness for his well...closer than best friend Fawn.
~
And me, well, I had a gleam in my eye for my excitement to meet my characters and others. After all, what author doesn't dream of meeting their B.B.F?
I hope you realized that I meant Best Book Friend.
Now I sound lonely.
~~~
Whoop whoop, I'ma a part of this book!
And of course, time to plan a meet and greet with my own characters and friends.
CallMeZeus, LovesitGirl, if you want, you can PM me so we can plan a way for each charecters' creator to meet each other!
Signing out,
-TheCreeperQueen
