"It was you, Black Heart."

When Alex said that, Black Heart couldn't respond or even react for a solid 2 minutes.

The goddess of a nation being accused of causing the death of her people?

That was where she crossed the line.

"H-How outrageous!? Are you purposely trying to get the death sentence!? How dare you accuse me! You were the one who committed it weren't you!? Then there's no possible connection that could make you accuse me!"

Before Black Heart could continue ranting, Alex slammed his fists onto the table to shut her up.

"If your giving me a chance to explain myself then shut the hell up and let me talk!" Shouted Alex.

It got Black Heart to go quiet and continue listening.

Alex sighed.

It seemed like he really didn't wanna revisit this moment in his life.

But he had too.

"Ever since my birth, Lastation had been my only home I ever knew. Especially the slums. Yeah we weren't ever close to being in the middle class, but we salvaged what we could and made a nice living and culture within the area. Black Ops HQ was built in front of the hill that the slums were behind. Ever since then, Black Ops HQ became our guradians."

Black Heart was now a little afraid to move on. Even though Alex was certain he was gonna die here, he wouldn't just randomly blame her for such a major incident without a reason behind it.

"H-How it go wrong?" She asked.

"The slums were never close to mainland Lastation. Even with that fact, the Lastation Slums were your biggest source of shares when compared to the rest of Lastation and the 3rd larget amount total behind Downtown Planeptune and Urban Leanbox." He said as Black Heart nodded.

"In the office laws all CPUs must abide by, it says it's mandatory for all CPUs to do a flyby check up on their nations colonies on the first day of every month. That includes the main city, urban areas, rural areas, and the slums. Throughout my entire time living in the slums, not ONCE did you ever check up on us. For SEVEN bloody fucking years, you NEVER flewby and checked up on us!" Yelled Alex catching Black Heart off guard.

He was speaking the truth.

She never did check up on the slums once.

Not cause of far away it was or cause she forgot.

The slums just gave Black Heart a really eerie and untrustworthy vibe.

She always felt that if she had went to the slums, something would've happened to her.

As she didn't respond, Alex took that as a sign to keep talking.

"Cause of that, for the last 3 years of the slums' existence, my father, who was the leader, led a major secret force that somehow always managed to steal weapons, not just any weapons, but actual good, elite weapons from your own men in your army. They collected so much in two years, that a coup d'état was inevitable." He said as Black Heart now was hearing the consequence of her decision.

"On the last year, it was official. The slums were gonna start the coup d'état and it could've been at a moment's notice. Civil War in Lastation was gonna happen. That was, until I did what I did, and massacred all the slums. I did it, save the nation I grew up to love. I did it, to protect the goddess, the CPU I looked up to and admired as a child." Said Alex with a shaky voice as tears dropped onto the table. "I-I killed everyone. My friends. M-My own mom, just to protect everyone else, you, Uni."

Black Heart was shocked now that she had the complete story.

To think that all this time, this kid who she had known for 2 years, was the one who essentially saved her nation from inner turmoil 3 years ago and never knew about it.

It made her decision easy.

After letting Alex calm down, she cleared her throat.

"I'm truly sorry for your losses Alex. I have made my decision." She said with a smile as she looked at Alex.

Alex looked up at her after wiping a few tears. He expected to be given the death sentence. Who cares if she was the reason the slums got so restless? Still doesn't hide the fact that killed hundreds of people.

With that, the decision came as Black Heart took a deep breathe.

"Alex Mustang. You won't be given the death penalty. You'll be allowed to live and go back to Black Ops HQ unharmed."

[Flashback Over: Back to the present]

Those words repeated over and over on Alex's mind as he just sat on his couch thinking back to that fateful day of when his life was spared.

He just didn't get it.

Early on after the decision, Noire treated Alex nicely and even had him run a few harmless errands for her.

Hell, Alex didn't tells this to Uni, but Noire actually was the first girl Alex had a crush on.

Unfortunately, things changed.

Uni and the other CPUs and candidates, ESPECIALLY Neptune, always told Alex about Noire's Tsundere attitude and how she'd always act aggressive and mean towards others.

Alex thought it was just them messing around with him, then it happened.

Noire suddenly started acting aggressive towards Alex.

Constantly insulting him for the slightest mistake, nagging on him for being late, and just tons of other times when she'd punch or slap him for no reason.

Thankfully as Alex's friendship with Noire began to wane, he and Uni had already tied the knot and became a couple.

That leads it to today.

The harsh part is, Alex deep down still had feelings for Noire even through all the harsh things she had done to him since then.

How could he not?

He was raised to love Lastation and respect its CPU.

But to see how nonexistent their friendship was now, it stung a ton.

Thankfully, Alex's deep thoughts were over as he suddenly got a text from Uni.

Uni: Hey Alex. You okay?

Alex: Yeah I'm fine. Just took a moment to cool down.

Uni: Sorry about Noire. I don't know why she just snapped then and there.

Alex: It's okay. It was bound to happen anytime.

Uni: Hey. I ran into Vert earlier today after the meeting.

Alex: She didn't leave immediately?

Uni: Nope. I got her two tickets to a ferry ride and she said that she'd wait for you at the dock if you wanted to go.

Alex: Sure. I don't mind going. Tell Vert I'll be there in a bit.

Uni: Sweet! Thanks Alex!

Alex: No problem.

With that, Alex went to his room to change for the occasion and stepped out wearing this

Alex even decided to wear glasses as he felt it completed the outfit.

With that, he left the apartment to the Lastation Docks.

[TimeSkip]

After a nice walk down the Lastation Coastside, even though Alex had aquaphobia and hated the ocean since he didn't know how and couldn't swim, he knew Vert was gonna keep him busy enough that he'd forget about the ocean.

Soon he made it to the docks and saw a CPU there holding the ferry tickets, except it wasn't Vert who was holding the tickets.

It was Noire who was also coveintly dressed up for the occassion.

Alex sighed and walked up to her.

"What the hell are you doing here?" He said as Noire looked and saw Alex immediately losing her somewhat happy mood.

"I can say the same to you. D-Did you stalk me here you creep!?" She said immediately beginning her tsun accusations.

"Of course not dumbass." He said as he showed her his texts with Uni. "Uni told me that Vert was waiting for me here with the ferry tickets."

"And Uni gave me these tickets and told me to wait here with them until Neptune got here."

The two heard each others stories and just sighed. "She played us." Said both Alex and Noire.

'This, is awkward.' Thought Alex.

He decided to just turn and walk away until Noire suddenly handed him a ferry ticket.

"H-Here. This one's yours." Said Noire with a light blush.

Alex grabbed the ticket and was definitely shocked. "U-Um, Noire."

"D-Don't get the wrong idea! After what happened today I definitely wouldn't ever consider going with you! B-But, it's clear Uni wants us to make up. So I'll go for her sake. ONLY, her sake."

Alex sighed and agreed.

The two got onto the ferry and sat down waiting for it set sail.

As they waited, Alex noticed Noire's face was a little red, not blush red but a sick red.

His thoughts were answered as Noire walked over to a pole and weakly used it as support to stand.

Alex walked over next to her a little worried.

"H-Hey you alright? If your sick then we should just get off." He said.

"I'm, fine. It'll go away after a good night's rest. As long as Uni will be happy to see us not hate each other, then I'll stay." She replied.

"R-Right. For Uni." Was all Alex could say.

After leaning on the pole for a bit, Noire finally regained enough strength to stand up on her own.

"I'll, be inside." Said Noire as she walked off to a small indoor seating room.

Alex watched her walk off without saying a word.

Finally, the fery began to sail and Alex and Noire spent the first few minutes of the ride separated until Alex got up and went to check up on the ill Noire.

As he opened the door to the small indoor seating area, he saw Noire sitting alone, with her eyes closed trying to take a small nap.

"Hey. Your sleeping. Try not to sleep for the entire ride." Said Alex as Noire woke up and looked at him for a bit.

Before anything else could be said, a vibration was heard as Noire noticed Alex's jean pocket.

"Your phone. It's ringing."

"Hm? O-Oh it is."

"Sorry. Could you, leave me alone for a moment?"

Alex was caught of guard by that but nodded and walked to the end of the ferry to answer the call.

"Hello?"

"Alex dear. Where are you? I haven't seen you all day. And why's it so loud where you are? Are you doing something?"

"Hm? Oh I'm at a ferry ride mom. Don't worry I'm fine."

As Alex was on the phone talking to his mom Akari, Noire had a hand up to her red ill face and began panting heavily.

It kept on going, until the sico Noire stood up, and began to walk out of the indoor area to the back.

Alex continued to talk to Akari trying to get her to calm down.

"Mom take it easy. I'll be back in, ten? Fifteen minutes at most."

"That's too long!"

As the talk continued, the ferry suddenly shook against a wave.

Then, a sudden splash was heard as people began to panic.

"S-Someone fell off!"

"What!?"

"You okay!?"

"I-Is she gonna be okay!?"

"It was the girl who was just here! She was wearing a pink top and had two long black twin tails!"

Alex slowly turned around in shock at was he was hearing.

Then, he dropped his phone and immediately ran to the edge and, despite his fear of the ocean and drowning,

he jumped off the ferry and dove into the ocean
