"Password?"
"Quick Silver"
"Alias?"
"Sparrow"
The door opened, creaking louder than bats at night, dominating the sky. (Y/N) entered the dojo run by Terry, ready to train. By now (Y/N) had calculated that Terry was fairly old. However, old didn't necessarily mean he was deadly. She'd learnt he was loaded and rich and could very well drag her down in more ways than one.
She'd shown up a suspicious number of times to train, seeing if she could twist the situation around. If Terry could take her under his wing, she could dish all the dirt she needed to then and there.
Instead of fighting, (Y/N) decided to take the alternative option, despite needing the money from the fights she was collecting every now and then - apart from her part time job.
"When will Mr Silver be around?" she asked one of his men, guarding the door. "I'm ready"
Silence.
----
The door was shut in (Y/N)'s face. She repeatedly knocked and eventually pounded the door with her fist.
"Let me in!" she demanded.
"He will let you know when he is ready. Swing by another time!" the man dressed in black exclaimed.
She attempted to pound the door again, hoping to find something. She looked around, only to notice a picture on the floor. The picture looked awfully familiar. A man with a ponytail, slicked back, smiling at the camera. He looked extremely young. His smile looked somewhat charismatic, yet creepy at the same time. (Y/N) couldn't particularly make out who it was. But she recognised the man next to him.
Moments later, hear ears started to ring as the sky growled, foreshadowing a storm. The weather had changed drastically this past week. The sky was darker than usual and (Y/N) had no chance of making it back. Unless she watched every step she took, in order to make it back to her apartment without getting caught. Her chances were second to none.
"Crap!" she cursed.
The only way to get through to Terry Silver was this photo and persistence. (Y/N) had nothing much to work with. Though, it was a start. Quite an interesting start...
On her way home, she concealed her mask, making space to crumple it as much as she could, shoving it down her pocket. She ruffled about her hair around to make it as messy as possible.
Eventually passing through Reseda's strip mall, she passed the Cobra Kai dojo. The same one where she went to yoga classes with Luna. She was about to enter the convenient store until she overheard a conversation taking place inside. Unsure of what was said, she stuck her ear through the door, only to hear footsteps making their way to the exit.
"Shit" she gasped, rushing over to the convenience store so no one would catch her.
She turned her back, pretending to be busy as means of not drawing any attention upon herself. After a moment had passed, she heard the last words coming out of someone very familiar. Someone she knew very well.
"You need to leave." a voice finally spoke, shutting the door immediately.
(Y/N) glanced back from the corner of her eye, noticing a very familiar presence. She observed the figure from head to toe. From the oddly familiar hairstyle to the clothes this man was wearing.
As she was about to find out, she was interrupted by another familiar presence entering the convenience store. And another two with him. Miguel, his mother, Carmen. And grandmother, Rosa.
"Hey..." (Y/N) whispered, under her breath as his mum and grandma made their way to an aisle away from him after greeting her.
"What are you doing at this hour?" he asked.
"I was--" she choked, clearing her throat. "Never mind. I wanted to take you up on that offer... I would like to be your friend."
(Y/N) held out a hand for Miguel to shake, hoping Luna's idea would work, despite her sarcasm. The two reconciled, temporarily putting their differences past them.
"So, friend... Would you like to hangout sometime?" he offered, smiling genuinely while emphasising the nature of their relationship as of now.
"Sure" (Y/N) agreed, about to take her leave.
"Wait!" he interjected, holding her by the wrist. "What's your number?"
For a moment, (Y/N) was suspicious as to why he wanted her number, given they were already neighbours and meet at school. A moment later, she gave him her number anyway. She pulled out her phone, covered fully with a plain black case with a sparrow for a wallpaper.
"I'll see you around, Miguel" she nodded, taking her leave.
