"You WHAT?" Miguel exclaimed, rubbing his fingers around his temples. "You know Sensei Lawrence is going to be disappointed and you could lose friends"

"Miguel, I don't have the money. Mr LaRusso said the lessons were free. I can't afford Cobra Kai" she replied.

(Y/N) didn't know what was worse. Keeping Miyagi-Do a secret or telling Miguel. By the looks of it, Miguel finding out beat those options. Caught unaware, she found out through Sam's big mouth, who told Aisha, eventually telling Miguel. Apart from the others, Aisha was the only understanding and kind one that had kept in touch with Sam whilst lingering around her Cobra Kai group.

Miguel took a seat inside (Y/N)'s sofa in her apartment, trying to gather what he had just found out. His body tensed up at the thought of her not only joining Miyagi-Do, but the possibility of being friends with his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend, Robby.

"Look... I don't mind you joining Miyagi-Do but just stay away from my ex and her boyfriend" Miguel pleaded.

"Miguel, I got paired with her for a science project" (Y/N) snapped, unsure why she had to do what he told her to.

She sighed, burying her head in her palms. This was exactly the reason (Y/N) had quit on karate. The value, the principles, the discipline... were all overlooked by the concept of two karate dojos at war. Like soldiers at war. War between two individuals. It was tiring. A moment later, (Y/N) broke down after silently fighting the urge to.

Avoiding eye contact with Miguel, she tightened her grip as he attempted to pull her wrists away. Feeling bad for what he had said, he trailed his hands towards hers and held both her hands, comforting her with one arm and tracing her fingers with the other using his thumb.

"(Y/N) I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry" he apologised, sincerely.

His gaze was planted to the floor, pausing for a solid moment to reflect on what he had just said to (Y/N). She had stopped crying at this point too, focusing on Miguel and trying to understand what he was thinking. The last tear drop threatened to leave her face as she begrudgingly tried to fight it off.

Silence.

Pure silence.

Miguel's focus was now on (Y/N). He stroked her cheek with his thumb, gradually trailing his way up to her eye. He gently pressed her eye, eliminating that last tear drop that threatened to leave. (Y/N) nervously swallowed like she had just consumed large amounts of water. She felt her heartbeat, close to exploding out of her chest, only to have a mind of it's own. Her gaze fixated on Miguel, like she was seeing him for the first and last time. Miguel shifted closer by the second, his hand trailing it's way to the back of her neck to pull her in. His eyes were shut, completely lost in the moment and the next thing (Y/N) felt were a pair of lips against hers.

She parted her lips, locking them with Miguel's, only focusing on how soft they felt and how her knees weakened during their moment. It wasn't clear if she was dreaming or not but seeing her with Miguel brought a different side to her. The two parted, in complete silence as Miguel cleared his throat, more than necessary.

"Miguel..." (Y/N) sighed. "We shouldn't have done that, I have a--"

"Boyfriend. Right." he completed.

"Yes. But--" she interjected, raising her index finger.

"No I'm sorry... I shouldn't have done that, you're right" he sighed, looking down disappointed.

"No Miguel. I was going to break up with him" she reassured, making sure didn't feel guilty for what he did.

"(Y/N) don't break up with him just because of me"

Disappointed, she watched Miguel take his leave, heading over to his apartment. There was always something about him that struck her attention. She couldn't put her finger on it until now. Romantic feelings were never something she had considered for him, until today. Until it happened. All this time with Xander was a lie and (Y/N) was finally coming to her senses.

"Miguel wait" she snapped.

She tugged his arm, pulling him towards her. The next thing she knew, Miguel had an arm around her waist whilst her hand tugged his shirt, pulling him in. She locked lips with him, this time with nothing but passion. This one lasted longer than the previous. (Y/N) cupped Miguel's cheek with her free hand, tracing his skin, softer than a pillow.

---

The door was slammed open, almost hitting Miguel in the face. He stopped right in his tracks to see who was at the door.

"Hey babe I got you a little something for your birth---"

(Y/N) froze, looking over at the door to see who it was. Xander. She fixated her gaze, focused on his expressions showing a series of shock and anger. A mix of confusion with a hint of sadness - though he hadn't expressed that much. Xander dropped the bouquet of flowers he had purchased on the floor. There was more volume in his hair this time, evidently gel helping keep it all in one place. He quickly glanced at (Y/N), transferring his attention to Miguel. His fists were curled tight, ready to strike Miguel. Without a doubt, Xander went all in, throwing an uppercut to his jaw.

"THAT'S MY GIRLFRIEND MAN" he roared, angrier than ever.

Even (Y/N) hadn't seen this side to him. Miguel immediately bounced back, charging at him for striking first. He returned the favour, this time, using his kicks. Xander was sent to the middle of the complex.

"Yeah who you don't appreciate" Miguel coldly spat.

He turned to (Y/N) taking her back inside. Xander hopped back on his feet, turning away. A cold smirk formed upon his lips as he walked away from the scene.
