The Broadcast
Nya's POV
Let's kick my Dads ass!" Lloyd shouted charging towards the sound of the menacing laughter.
Me and Pixel followed for a bit, before cutting off from the group when it was most convenient to get to Borg Industries. My legs carried me forward as I charged up the damaged streets of Ninjago.
Borg tower was hard to miss as it loomed higher than any other building in the city. The architecture of the building showed massively ahead of this day and age. The main colour was a solid blue and the angles of the designs were so crazy it actually worked, bits of sturdy metal stuck out at odd degrees, lasting a couple of floors, before caving back in and formatting a straight line. It did this several times on both sides. The windows used to glisten white when the sun hit it, but as any sign of light was snuffed out by dark red and black clouds, the windows unwillingly reflected a much darker shade. The once 'safe tower' now looked menacing and foreign.
I gulped and glanced to the side where Pixel ran a few paces behind me. Being a robot defiantly gave her some advantages, like being able to hold an amazing poker face, but in this instance, her face held pure terror and fear.
She stopped suddenly. I ran a few more paces before coming to terms with this and also stopped, turning to face her.
"Hey Pixel, what's wrong?" I asked walking back to her side.
"I-I can't..... I cant go u-up there." She whispered, taking a few slow step away from the grand building.
"Why what's wrong?" I asked knitting my eyebrows together and holding a worried look.
"It's just.... what if.... what if we find Borg up there and..... he's hurt or..... or worse....?" She said her voiced laced with dread.
Then suddenly it clicked. Borg was like Pixels father, as he built her, like Dr. Julien and Zane. And even though I don't know much about parents -seeing as mine took off ages ago- I could tell that finding your father or mother hurt or..... dead, is defiantly something no teenager should have to experience. I felt overwhelmed with sympathy for my new best friend, and the urge to comfort her.
"Pixel, Borg is the smartest man alive, he's built the hover car, the newest gaming consoles, and he's practically designed this entire city. And he's built you. So if your telling me, the father of the smartest girl in our school can't make a quick get away of one of his flying mobiles or on a super fast car, then we're all doomed" I said, placing a hand on her shoulder.
She sighed, thinking through her options before a new, confident smile overpowered her dread filled frown.
"Let's do this" She said. I hardly caught the last word for she was already sprinting towards the massive tower.
It took a few seconds to register what just happened before shrugging and speeding off to catch up with her.
Thanks to her head start, Pixel reached the doors first, yanking it open and darting up the stairs.
"Pixel, why don't we just use the elevator?" I shouted up to her.
"Using an elevator at a time of crisis is major safety hazard, the stairs would provide a much stabler and safer route to the 100th floor." Pixel said, stopping to look over the railing and down at me.
I groaned. Of course it was going to be the highest floor, they wouldn't make it that easy and put the control Center computer on the first floor or even the tenth floor. It had to be on the 100th. Typical.....
"Ahh, come on! What's a little risk gonna do?" I begged.
"That is a unwise choice Nya, we have to focus on our main objective: Sending a message for a mass evacuation. We don't have time to worry about if the way up to the designated floor is gonna potentially kill us." Pixal's words were backed up with annoyingly good logic, subsequently forcing me to reconsider and take the stairs.
Reaching the first stair, I made a stupid choice and looked up towards the countless spiralling stairs. A noise between shock and fear escaped through my mouth as my breath hitched in my throat. The end of the stairs seemed nonexistent. Pixel was already three floors above me, showing no sign of breathlessness. My petty inner self became jealous of how far up Pixel was, but I quickly erased that feeling for how stupid it sounded. She's only three floors up and there's still 97 to go, so quit stalling and get moving! I shouted at myself inside my brain.
I timidly took the first step, releasing a breath of approval before darting forward and racing up the stairs.
My attitude took a drastic turn as I reached the 30th floor. It went from 'I can do this, only a few more steps to go' to a more severe 'fuck stairs, fuck overlord, fuck everything!'
By the 50th floor I began really feel the burn. My breaths were laboured, my arms hung loosely at the sides giving up on a more controlled pumping, my feet dragged my body hazily up the stairs, causing me to clip my feet and tripping multiple times.
I had caught up to Pixel pretty quickly, unfortunately it was at the expense of using up too much energy at once. Energy I could of used for a more rationed pace.
After what seemed like decades, the last step came into sight round the bend.
Pixel was waiting at the top for me, her elbows were resting on the railing as she looked down to the bottom floor. Her head lifted up rotated towards me a ghost of a smirk on her face. She looked completely at ease and not a breath short of exhaustion, while I was wheezing so heavily I'm sure all of Ninjago heard me, even with the deafening explosion every minute.
"H....how.... are..... you..... not..... out..... of... b...... breath?" I asked, once I'd reached the top and collapsed on the ground in a heap of exhaustion and slight nausea.
"I'm a robot Nya, physical drain of energy is not necessary for one who does not have muscle to do so" Pixel chuckled, reaching down and offering me her hand. I hesitantly took it, unsure wether or not I wanted to leave the safe haven of the ground.
Pixel pulled me up in one swift motion before leading the way to the Center computer. She pushed open two doors to reveal Borgs swanky office. The room was massive, consisting of state of the art video games pushed to the right and a high tech computer database pushed to the left. Borgs desk was situated the furthest away, in front of the massive windows that took up the entire wall, allowing you to see off of Ninjago City. Normally the sight would be one to ogle at, but today I had to advert my eyes from the vision defining death and destruction.
Pixel led me towards the ginormous screen that took up half the wall. She b-lined it to the keyboards and began typing away, until stopping, adjusting a weird looking camera to focus in on me, and handing me an microphone and putting a countdown on the big screen.
"Wait! How come I have to do the talking?!" I yelped, dodging out of the view of the camera.
Pixel rolled her eyes before pushing me back in front of the camera. "Because I have to hack into every possible way of communication to broadcast this message, whilst your recording it"
The countdown narrowed into the single digits and I began to panic.
"Then why don't I do the hacking and you do the speaking?" I replied quickly pushing Pixel in-front of the camera and walking towards the computer.
But, before I could even take two steps, a hand grabbed my wrist and spun me backwards. In the process, Pixel propelled herself forward and accidental tripped me up. I fell on my back groaning but quickly jumped back up. Unfortunately my efforts were for nothing as the timer on the screen flashed to zero. I stood there staring at the camera, my only thought was that everyone in Ninjago could see me looking like an idiot on a big screen. I had to have been standing there at least 10 years, but I was probably only 10 seconds.
I glanced at Pixel, she kept mouthing the word 'speak' to me and pointing outside the window and back to the camera.
I shook my head, dismissed the self-conscious feeling that grew in my stomach and began completing the task I was set to do.
"Citizens of Ninjago! You don't know me, but I am part of a group dedicated to saving you from the one they call the overlord. If you are reading or watching this and still have yet to evacuate the city, then you must do so now! Leave everything and go! Don't take any public transportation as it's unreliable at a time of crisis, take hover cars and watch out for uneven roads and-er....... be, safe?"
I glanced at Pixel awkwardly, hoping she caught the hint that I was done and turn off the recording, but she didn't. It was only when I had to use the hand motion of cutting off my head did she finally latch on and turn off the broadcast.
"Well, That was fun," Pixel said, shutting down the computer.
"Yeah well next time yo-"
I was cut off by the sound of my phone ringing. I groaned and reached for the cell in my pocket. The caller ID revealed that it was Jay who was calling.
"Jay? Why the hell are you calling me now?"
"Nya?! We need you, Lloyds down!" A gasp left my mouth as I scrambled to my feet.
"Well be right there!"

So right now I'm at the beach, and it's raining, because it's England, but there isn't any WiFi in the house, so I've had to trek up to the 'public WiFi' area on top of a hill to be able to publish this for ya, so, your welcome. 😒😁
Hope you enjoyed, have a nice day, eat ice cream, be your own kind of beautiful, live, laugh, love, and DO NOT TREK UP A MOUNTAIN IN THE RAIN.
Thank for reading 💖💗💖💗
