Injured

Hey guys, just to let you know that there is a really important message at the end of this chapter and it would be really cool if you read it.

And this chapter may be a bit graphic so be warned.......

Jays POV

I wanted to run. Turn tail and bolt. But I couldn't...... Lloyd needed me, my team needed me. So denied the begging from my legs to flea and stood my ground. Even though the beast in front of me was enough to make my blood run cold.

I subconsciously pulled my nunchucks from the back pound of my Gi. My throat seemed as though it was a dessert as the need to swallow became increasingly difficult. I tilted my eyes to face Seliel and Skylor, the latter of which cracked her knuckles and the former scowling intensely at the monstrosity. Both pulled out their weapons, Seliel having her sais and Skylor, her kusarigama, where and when they learned how to use such weapons was beyond me.

Lloyd hadn't moved an inch since stopping, his emotionless eyes had yet to be torn away from what was his father. He slowly pulled his green hood over his face and reached behind him to secure a hold on his golden sword, before unsheathing the lethal weapon and holding it out in-front of himself.

"Garmadon!" Lloyd shouted above the mechanical grinding of the machine. Though, as the word left Lloyd's mouth, the beast stopped and slowly turned to face us, a twisted smile upon his face.

"Son! What a wonderful sight, you've come to join my army" Garmadon said, his eye twitching in a unsettling way as a result of the power of the overlord being too much for Lloyd's father.

"I'm not your son!" Lloyd spat, "And I'd never join forces with a fool like yourself!"

"Well then, that's your loss," The overlord shrugged before quick as a flash, pressing a button of his key pad and sending multiple missiles whooshing towards us.

We all dived out the way, covering our heads as shrapnel and pieces of concrete flew up on the air where the missiles hit the ground, before raining back upon us.

"Shit," I heard Seliel say under her breath. She had landed a meter to my left and had a nasty scrape on her forehead. Luckily it wasn't bleeding to bad, but a small stream of blood did trail down her left temple and down her cheek.

"You alright?" I asked quickly, unsure if the overlord was going to send another missile, but the smoke from the first still lingered and was thankfully hiding our position.

"Yeah, it's just a small gash," She said, shrugging it off before grabbing her sais and getting back to her feet.

I did a quick check over of myself to see if I had any major injuries, but apart from some small cuts and already forming bruises, I was good to go.

I scanned the ground for my nunchucks. All around me there were blocks of concrete, and I thanked my lucky stars that none of them hit me.

But then I began to panic, for the cover from the smoke began to lift and I could see the outline of the overlord, and I had yet to find my missing nunchucks. I stood, trying to gain a higher vantage point as it helped me see for a bit further.

"Jay! What are you doing?" Came Lloyd's voice from my left, I turned to face him as he continued, "We have to get out of here and find a better way to attack, those missiles are causing too much damage to the city, what are you looking for?"

"My nunchucks, I chucked them somewhere when I dove out the way from that missile" I answered, beginning to search the ground once again.

"Well hurry up and find them, this smoke won't cover us much longer!" Lloyd whisper-yelled, as he too began to search for my missing weapon.

"Wait where's Skylor and Seliel?" I asked as something shiny caught my eye. I heaved a bit bulge of concrete out the way that was blocking it, and too my happiness, my blue nunchucks lay underneath, slightly squished from the weight that was upon it.

I signalled to Lloyd that I found them and we ran for cover in a nearby building. Once inside, Lloyd and I removed our hoods.

"Well, let's just say that the overlord didn't come alone, multiple stone warriors are trashing the city and slaughtering people who still remain here" Lloyd said, taking a quick peep out from the building. The overlord seemed content to the fact that we were dead, and carried on marching down the street, causing mayhem. "I sent Skylor and Seliel to take care of them,"

"Oh," I said, unsure whether or not that was the best idea. But hey, he's the boss and unfortunately a bit smarter than me when it came to strategical ambushes, "So, what's our next move?" I said changing the subject to a more pressing matter.

Lloyd thought for a second, squinting and studying the overlord as it carried on moving deeper into the city. "Well, what if we came down from above? Like landing on top of him in his blind spot. From what I've seen from his missiles launchers, they can only go up to a certain angle, which definitely doesn't reach vertical, which means a) He won't see us and B) even if he did, his missiles launchers wouldn't be able to get us anyway," Lloyd answered, turning back to face me.

"Okay, let's do it," I said pulling my hood back over my head and slotting my nunchucks back to their rightful pouch.

Lloyd also pulled his hood over his head and ran over to a nearby alley. I followed hot on his heels. He lept off the ground and secured a hand on the metal railing of a fire escape and pulled the rest of himself up. I copied and we raced up the stairs to the top. Once there, we building-hopped it to catch up with the overlord, it took a while for he had extra long legs and me and Lloyd weren't in the greatest shape. Yet a couple of expert-ninja-flips later, we had caught up.

"So, what now?" I asked, slightly lacking in breath.

"Well, I need you to watch my back," Lloyd said, standing on the ledge and turning to face me.

"And, what about you?" I asked slightly cautious of his next answer.

"This..." Lloyd began, before winking and falling backwards and off the building. Gasping, I ran to the side of the building just in time to watch Lloyd land on his ex-fathers machine. I would of carried on spectating, but a rather ugly looking stone warrior came of of a nearby door, sword drawn, probably intending to kill me.

"Your an ugly fella, hate to see what your siblings look like!" I quipped, feeling behind me and latching onto my nunchucks, before pulling them out and getting into a fighting stance.

"Goo-tarr estmalar!" The warrior screamed before charging towards me.

I started to swing my 'chucks around, bolts of lightning seething through the weapon and cracking as it spun.

My first move was a slick block of the warriors sword before countering it and hitting the top of his head with such force I thought it would break. Strangely enough, the warrior didn't even seem to notice and it was then did I realise that they weren't just called stone warriors, they actually were stone warriors.

Unfortunately, due to my lack in concentration at that very moment, the stone warrior was able to punch me in my gut. I doubled over, before realising that was a terrible mistake, for the warrior used the blunt end of the sword and made in crash into my upper back, causing me to tumble to the ground.

I gasped and looked up just in time to see the stone warrior flip the sword around and was about to jam in into my helpless body. But the strangest thing happened. I don't know whether it was the fact that I was about to die, or my elemental power, but the world seemed to move slower, yet I was moving perfectly normal. I looked up just past the stone warriors head and saw a flock of birds almost frozen in place in the sky, but there wings moved ever-so slowly. My focus quickly returned back to the stone warrior and the impending doom that lay in his hands. The sword was nearly 20cm from my body, so without second guessing, I removed myself from under the blade and quickly stood up. I was really perplexed as to what was happening, but I didn't want to waste this opportunity, so I half-dragged half-carried the warrior over to the ledge. I positioned him in a dabbing pose before stepping back and snapping a quick selfie, because why not?!? But as I looked at the birds in the sky again, I noticed their wings beginning to move quicker and quicker before they were flying at full speed.

I shot my eyes back to the stone warrior to watch if my genius plan had worked, and it did: Because his hand was still in the movement of stabbing my body, it shot to the left, causing him to spin out of control and off the ledge, tumbling multiple stories before hitting the cold concrete and smashing into millions of pieces.

That's how the rest of the night went, I would attack many warriors, some I managed to defeat without my newly found power, but some were able to get close to killing me but that's when my new power would come into play. It seemed as if as soon as I came close to death, it would trigger the 'on button' of my super speed and I was able to manoeuvre out of the inevitable death. It was AWESOME.

Halfway through the night, I'd somehow made my way to the streets bellow, and was fighting the stone warriors upon the ground. I'd met up with Seliel and Skylor constantly throughout the night and on multiple occasions, we saved each other in the absence of themselves.

But, as the night became thin, Lloyd began to become increasingly sloppy with his fighting moves. As was his father, yet they both seemed to trooper on. It surprised me to the end that Lloyd was able to fight for as long as he has.

I had just knocked the last warrior out -without the need of my super speed- and glanced down the street where Lloyd was fighting. Visible beads of sweat formed on his forehead and he was dragging his feet along the floor.

I was about to go help him when something shiny caught my eye from a nearby building. My eyesight was immediately drawn to the flickering object and to my horror I instantly recognised what it was. A gun. A gun aimed directly for Lloyd.

I didn't have time to react. My ability to go super fast didn't come into action. I just stood there, frozen, until I heard the shot go off seconds after I'd spied the gun.

BANG!

Lloyd's head whipped around as the bullet struck him. A small patch of red growing on his gi. He tried to take a step forward, but his knee buckled and he fell to the ground. At first his knees touched the ground, then torso, then with a sickening crunch, his head fell to the ground.

The overlord exhaled, the crooked grin still crafted into his face, yet behind his eyes I swore I saw a hint of sadness. But whatever it was, it was extinguished as he kicked Lloyd's body off the edge of his machine.

It was only then did my legs begin to work and I hightailed it to my injured friend. The overlord turned and began his walk down to the Center of the City, letting the occasional missiles fly. He didn't seem to notice me as he carried on his destructive way.

I crouched besides Lloyd. His face was a mess as dark circles were under his eyes and big purple bruises on his cheek, jaw and eyebrow. Along side the bruises where swollen areas that looked to be throbbing. His face was coated in a thin layer of sweat causing it to shine as the rising sun hit it. A small trail of blood oozed from a painful gash just above his eyebrow and another from his mouth and nose. His blond locks where dirty and matted in blood and tangles. Lloyd's Gi was ripped and fraying at the edges and the dark patch of blood had grown where he'd been shot. His belts and buckles that once were there for decor, now stood as a painful reminder of how sharp the overlords swords were as many has a clean cut straight through them. An uneven rising and falling from Lloyd's chest indicates that he wasn't dead, but close to it.

"Lloyd!" I shouted, in hopes it would awaken his from unconsciousness. But it didn't.

Indistinctly I ripped of a sleeve that was already falling off from my own Gi and fearfully wrapped it around the painful wound on Lloyd.

I wasn't a doctor, but I could tell the bullet had missed his heart and lodged itself into his shoulder instead. He was lucky, but in no means in less pain.

At that point, Skylor and Seliel came running round the corner and crouched besides their wounded leader. Both of them flipped their hood over their heads.

"What happened?!" Seliel exclaimed and Skylor began to examine the wound.

"What do you think? He was shot!" I shouted, making Seliel flinch. I quickly recoiled and apologied, "Sorry, he one of my best friends, I'm just panicky"

"It's okay Jay, I've known Lloyd just as long as you, I'm scared too, but we have to get act together and probably move his away from here" Seliel said placing a hand on my should and giving me a comforting smile.

"Your right," I said before glancing back towards Lloyd and noticing Skylor unwrapping my makeshift bandage. "Wait, Skylor, what are you doing?"

"Well, I took a first aid class last semester, it didn't cover what to do when someone's gets shot, but what little experience I got, i know for a fact that tying the bandage around the actual wound is tons more painful for the patient, instead, you tie it just below, so it cuts off the blood and limits the blood loss," She explained hurriedly, fastening the bandage before glancing up at me. "This isn't going to last long, he's already lost to much blood, we have to call the others back and get him some proper help, without it, he's going to die in a matter of hours."

Lloyd's face was still twisted in pain as he let out a soft whimper.

"Well, let's get him to that building, I'll call the others inside." I said pointing to a news station skyscraper, 10 meters to our left. "On my count we lift, okay?"

Both girls nodded.

"One.. Two.. Three!" I shouted before the three of us lifted our leader off the ground and over to the designated building. Lloyd groaned in pain at every step we took till finally we placed him down on the cracked marble floor.

Lloyd had gone increasingly pale and his breaths more laboured. I didn't think it could get worse, but it did.

Lloyd began to shake uncontrollably. White foam formed at his mouth and he sprayed spit everywhere. He was having a fit.

"Jay call the others!" Seliel shouted as she and Skylor tried to restrain him. So I called the first person that came to mind.

"Jay? Why the hell are you calling me now?" Nya's voice rang through the speaker. I didn't have time to beat around the bush so I got straight to the point.

"Nya?! We need you, Lloyds down!"
