Nya's POV

The walk down the mountain was a lot quieter than the walk up. We didn't laugh or joke around, it was pretty quiet, except for a few hushed conversations between certain people. Of course Lloyd was being impatient and telling us to move our butts faster, so we could get back to the high school.  I was tempted to yell at him and say Look, Lloyd, when you've just been knocked unconscious for a few hours, your body tends to be stiff and uncooperative so sorry if we seem slow! But I was to tired to say anything.

"Guys! Come on! The Over Lord could attack at any moment, we need to be prepared!" Lloyd kept saying over and over again.

"Lloyd, would you calm down?" Cole said, obviously frustrated. "Some of us have more to carry than you"

He gesturing over to Kai, who was still carrying an unconscious Skylor.

"Okay, Okay, geez." He rolled his eyes "But please hurry!"

"You know Lloyd, for someone who just found out his father is The Over Lord, you seem pretty happy" Seliel said.

"That man is not my father" Lloyd spat.

Seliel jumped at Lloyds sudden change of mood and hung back to walk with Cole. I couldn't tell if it was out of fear or just genuinely wanted to walk with Cole.

I sighed and looked out towards the island. It was bigger than I imagined, trees covering most of the terrain, with the occasional open meadow and tall mountain.

"Hey guys, check this out!" Jay shouted and started to zap lightning bolts out of his hands "Shocked to see me? Heh heh, get it? shocked, lightning?"

I know his puns are, well....... Horrible, but I couldn't help but give a gentle chuckle, he always somehow manages to make me smile, and to my disbelief everyone else had slight smirks on their faces.

"Oh yeah? Well check this out!" Cole shouted before jumping up in the air and slamming his fists on the ground, subsequently causing a mini earthquake.

"Ahhhhh!" Me and Seliel screamed as we lost our balance and fell to the ground.

"Sorry guys, I guess I don't know how strong I am" Cole said cockily and held his hand out to help Seliel up.

I evil eyed Cole until an idea came to mind. I created a ball of water between my hands on sent it Coles face. He screeched at impact. I burst out laughing along with Jay and Seliel. He grumbled an insult but I was too busy laughing to hear what he was saying.

I stood up after laughing till my sides hurt and apologised.

"Sorry Cole, I cou-" I cut myself off when I noticed that I couldn't move my leg. I looked down and saw it was engulfed in ice. I looked up frantically and saw Zane laughing.

"Hey! Zane!" I groaned and tried to break the ice, but it was too condensed to break. I thought for a moment, then turned to face Kai.

"Hey Kaiiiiiii" I said innocently, "you think you could possibly melt this ice? For your baby sister?" I gave him my puppy dog eyes and pouted.

He rolled his eyes and gently set Skylor down on the ground, before coming over to me. He rubbed his hands together, as if to create friction, and placed them on the ice. I watched the ice slowly melt and condensate into water.

"Thanks bro!" I said, now able to move and hug him.

"What are big brothers for?" He teased.

"Ehhhgggg" a feminine moan sounded from behind him.

We both turned and saw Skylor sitting up and clutching her forehead.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Skylor!" I shouted and run to hug her.  I knelt down and out my arms around her neck and pulled her into a rib cracking hug.

"Nya! Give her space to breathe" Seliel said, also kneeling down to hug her.

"My head kills" she groaned, opening her eyes and looking we around, "Errrrr- Question, weren't we in the Light Temple?"

"Yeah, But now we have to go get back to the high school, to become Spinjitzu masters! So let's go people, move move" Lloyd said impatiently.

"Lloyd, she just woke up, give her a minute" Kai said forcefully.

"No, no, I'm fine, a bit dizzy but honestly I'm good to start walking" Skylor said confidently.

"Are you sure? I mean, what if you become seriously dizzy and fall of a cliff or something?" Kai said worriedly.

"Really? Fall off a cliff?" Jay snorted with laughter. I elbowed him in his ribs signalling him to shut up.

"I'll be fine, promise" she said, gently giggling at Kai's overreaction.

"Hey! Look at the bright side Kai" Jay said enthusiastically "now you don't have to carry her the rest of the way."

"Wait, you carried me, from the Light Temple, to here?" she asked pointing up to the light Temple, a look of disbelief etched on her face.

"Ummm..... yeah?" He answered more like a question than an answer.

"Really?" She said

Kai nodded and awkwardly scratched the back of his neck and smiling  goofily. Skylor smiled at him and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him.

"Thank you" I heard her whisper in his ear.

"Okay, Happy reunion over, can we please get going!" Lloyd pleaded.

"Oh my god Lloyd! Can you just be quiet for one minute?" Cole shouted at him.

Lloyd huffed, folded his arms and looked really grumpy. I did kinda feel bad for him, but only because his life had pretty much been turned upside down, so no wonder he's acting different and has the attitude of a bipolar.

~~Time Skip~~

It feels so good to be on the sand of our home turf. I found the boat journey quite relaxing, but I could tell Lloyd was just one word away from slapping Jay because he was singing 'row row row your boat' on repeat, really loudly.

Speaking of Lloyd, he's finally calmed down and isn't pestering us none stop to hurry up. There was the occasional 'Speed up guys' or 'we gotta get to the high school' but one look from Cole made him shut up again.

Seeing as Ninjago City was only a short trek from the beach, it only took us a few hours before we could see the out skirts of the City.

Surprisingly the thought of The Over Lord defeating us in our first battle didn't really weigh heavily on my shoulders, but with every step I took towards home, I became more anxious and depressed. Questions wizzed past my brain, causing a painful headache. What if we fail? What if we die? What if our powers disappeared tomorrow? Why is my head hurting so much? What if everyone I love dies?

My train of painful thoughts was cut short by a warm hand intertwining his fingers with mine. I let out a long breath I didn't even know I was holding. I glanced up and saw Jay. He had a look that was a cross between concern and sympathy.

"You alright?" He said squeezing my hand gently.

"Yeah, just worried about the days to come, you know?" I said, squeezing his hand back and nudging him with my shoulder.

"You know, my mom once told me something, and God knows why I remembered it, but it really helped me get through one day at a time." He said.

"What did she say?" I asked curious for the answer.

"Don't let the sadness of your past and the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present" He said, smiling down on me.

I stood on my tip toes a planted a kiss on his cheek, as if to say thank you. He blushed a dark crimson and gently touched the soft spot on his cheek. I smiled at his goofiness and from there on I forgot about the future  and let go of the past, for now I was living in the present.

Okay, done another chapter, this one took longer than I imagined, so sorry about that.
