Chapter Seven- Yay Booties!

"Are we there yet?" I groaned.

"We just left 5 minutes ago!" Charlie exasperated. He was in front of me, looking at the map.

"Yeah, but I have to carry all the stuff."

It was true. I had a portable chest on my back, carrying all the equipment. Pickaxes, torches, anything.

"Why can't we carry this stuff in the inventory?" I asked.

"You got to learn how to be strong." He said, frowning at the map.

"Don't you dare go all sensei on me."

He threw down the map. "This thing is useless."

I walked over, picked it up, then turned it.

Charlie closed his eyes. "It was upside-down wasn't it."

I nodded as he opened his eyes. "Finally, I taught you something."

"You turned over a map. Big deal."

"Okay, but are we going to be there soon?"

He looked at the renewed map. We were on the plains looking for a decent cave to explore. I wanted to bring Jewel with us, but no-o. Charlie thought she'd slow us down. How dare he.

"Yes. Just a few more minutes in..." He pointed in front of us to the left. "That direction."

I groaned, but started walking.

Eventually, we came to a hole in the ground. It was dark, so I couldn't see anything.

"This is it?" I asked hopefully.

"This is it." He assured.

I set down the pack, and rummaged through. Taking out a piece of steak, I ate it. I learned that it helps you be less tired, and obviously less hungry.

"Good." Charlie said. "Now we can put the stuff in our inventory."

I unpacked everything. With no help from him, I might add.

I put our three stone pickaxes and two stacks of torches in one pocket, the food in another, and random blocks like wood and stone in another.

I looked over and saw that Charlie had out a stone sword. He had no inventory, so I carried everything.

"Can I has a sword?" I asked like a little kid.

"No. This is in case we come across mobs, which is unlikely. You just stick to mining."

"Fine then. Be that way."

He rolled his eyes and walked into the cave, me following behind.

-<=>-

It was pretty dark, so I got out a torch and held it up.

There wasn't much to say about it. It was just a stone circular tunnel that continued at a diagonal angle downwards.

I looked at the walls, trying to find something special.

"Look!" I pointed. On the wall was an iron ore.

I walked over. "I can get this, right?"

Charlie nodded. "Go ahead and mine it."

I actually felt excited. I got out a stone pick-axe and held it. Then, I smashed one of the pointy ends onto the block. I did it a few times, and the iron shrunk until it was a littler block.

"Well I expected you to poke your eye out or something." Charlie commented.

I ignored him and mined a few other pieces. There was 4 in all.

I got out of the little hole I made, and put the blocks into my inventory.

"Okay then. Moving on." Charlie grabbed my torch that I set on the ground. Then, he led the way deeper.

Turns out the cave was a dead end. It stopped a little bit from where we found the iron.

"I hate these kinds of caves." Charlie grumbled.

"Well we can get this coal right here." I walked over to a black ore and started mining it. There was a lot, around 15 pieces.

I was mining the last piece, and when it disappeared, there was a hole. Another space was barely visible.

"Charlie! I found something." I motioned him closer.

He came over and looked through. Then, he stepped back. "Make it big enough for us to go through."

I mined a piece above it. Then, I stood in the hole and looked at the room that we were facing. Only, it wasn't a room.

"Woah..." I breathed.

It was a huge ravine. I was standing around 45 blocks up near the ceiling. The ravine was to the left, going out so far that I couldn't see the end. The bottom was just lava, but some water streams that fell down made obsidian. I saw a bunch of different colored ores; yellow, red, blue, tan, and black. I even saw a green one. There were some caves that branched out at the bottom.

"Can I see?" Charlie asked behind me.

I took out a block of cobblestone and slowly crept to the edge of the block. Then, I placed it down next to it on the wall. I walked to that block so Charlie could see.

"Wow." Charlie looked at the view. "Nice work."

I grinned, then looked down. "How are we going to get down there?"

Charlie observed it, then shrugged. "We could build a staircase."

I nodded, and placed a block diagonal to the other one, leading down. I did this for a while, and eventually we came upon the bottom. But there was lava.

"Ahm." I pointed. Charlie nodded, but didn't do anything. I waited, and he just stared at me. I rolled my eyes, and placed a block next to the wall, destroying a lava source.

"What now?" I asked.

"See that iron ore?" He pointed to a group of it a few blocks away on the wall. "Go mine it."

I placed enough blocks to get to it,  and started mining. It was a pocket of 4 blocks.

"Now make a furnace and cook it." He placed a block down and sat on it.

"Yes, mom."

I got out a furnace and started cooking it.

"So how long are we gonna be down here?" I asked.

He shrugged. "When you feel enlightened."

"Well there is a lot of stuff down here for me to learn about."

"Just make a bucket."

I waited for another iron to cool, and then took them out as well as a crafting table from my inventory. It took a second to remember which box they went in, but I put one iron in the bottom middle, and one in the left box in the middle, and the right. I swiped it, and made a bucket.

"Now what."

"Go fetch some water." He said while munching on bread. Where did he get that from?!

I looked around and saw a stream by where we first came in. I went up there, filled the bucket, and came down, being careful not to fall.

"Here." I gave it to Charlie. He got up, and threw it on the lava, creating obsidian. He then picked up the water, and turned towards me. "Do whatever you want with the remaining five iron."

I turned around and grinned, taking the iron out. I made some sticks with wood, and then made an iron pick axe and an iron sword.

"Mwa-ha-ha-ha." I jabbed the sword in Charlie's direction.

"Just don't be stupid with that." He sighed.

I mined the furnace and crafting table, and we continued across the ravine.

It was actually a pretty cool trip. There was more iron, redstone, gold, coal, lapis lazuli, even an emerald. But no diamonds.

"How rare are diamonds?" I asked Charlie as he expanded our obsidian floor.

"Rare, but not as rare as emeralds. We just got lucky. Besides, diamonds mostly come in pockets bigger than emeralds."

"Oh. What's your favorite ore?"

"Why?"

"Just trying to make a conversation."

"Emeralds. We trade with them a lot."

"Cool."

"OHMYNOTCH!" He burst out. I whipped my head in each direction, expecting mobs or diamonds. Charlie was almost jumping in excitement. He expanded the platform, and ran to a wall, where 3 emeralds were shown side by side.

"They must have made it so emeralds can spawn more! Mine it mine it mine it." He squealed. Then, he changed his expression to not interested. "Whatever."

"Couldn't control yourself, couldja?" I walked over to the emeralds and started mining them. I tossed them to Charlie. "Here you go."

"So who 'made it so emeralds can spawn more'?" I asked.

Charlie pointed to iron that I needed to mine. "The leaders of the Capitol."

"Who are they?"

"Place a furnace down.  Cook the iron. And just a large group of important people. Like SkyDoesMinecraft, BajanCanadian, JeromeAsf, Ssundee, DanTDM, and a bunch more."

"What's up with their names?" I asked, putting coal in the furnace, making it blaze to life.

"They are nicknames. Everyone in the Capitol has one."

"Oh. Cool. Does the Capitol have another name besides the Capitol?"

Charlie hesitated. "Notch City. But please-"

"I won't ask about him."

He exhaled. "Good. How many pieces of iron do you have?"

"7... No wait, 8."

"Good. Make a chest plate."

"For you?"

"For you. I can handle myself."

I didn't believe that, so I made two armor pieces instead of one.

"Booties!" I waved them high.

Charlie face palmed. "You made us boots instead of a chest plate."

"So we can both have armor. Do you want it or not? Because I can give it to that zombie behind you."

He cursed. "Son of a creeper!" And turned around. There was nothing.

I laughed, nearly falling down.

"Don't joke about that stuff. Zombie!" He pointed behind me.

"You can't use the same joke against me." I crossed my arms.

He actually threw his sword, and I heard a sound behind me.

Errrr.

I turned around and saw a Zombie on the floor a few blocks away, a sword in his chest.

"Joking  equals bad. Got it." I said as Charlie picked up his sword. The Zombie disappeared a few seconds later.

"Glad that mobs clean up after themselves." He said. "Now make some more armor."

I looked in the furnace. 7 pieces. I took them out, placed a crafting table, and made legging. I put them on, as well as the boots. I waved the other boots in front of Charlie.

"I'll pass." He said.

"But your feet might get cold."

He rolled his eyes. "Fine."

I rolled mine back at him as he took them.

"Let's just go get some more ores while the iron cooks."

"Charlie."

"Then when we get back, it'll be all done."

"Charlie."

"And we can make more armor."

"Charlie."

"What." He sighed.

"Isn't there a tall, black, mob with purple eyes?"

"Yeah, the Enderman. Why?"

"Because there is one looking at us right now." I pointed to a ledge around 25 blocks above us. He was trying to hide, but I saw him. Charlie turned and saw him for a split second before the Enderman vanished.

"Well that wasn't creepy at all." I said slowly.

"Let's just continue mining. But be careful." Charlie stared at the spot. "Something foul is afoot."

"But not on our feet." I pointed to the boots. "Since we have booties!"

Charlie face palmed again.

-<=>-

Holy Herobrine. General Enderman thought after he teleported further down the ravine. They saw me.

He has been on the girl's trail for a while now. When she found the village, he was relieved that it was controlled by a foolish priest. He was trying to dabble in the arts of witchcraft, which is most of Lord Herobrine's magic. He will be easily fooled.

But she has grown stronger. She saw Lieutenant Skeleton that one day, and made a, sadly, amazing shot. That isn't good. Soon she will be at the Capitol.

He has been trying to sabotage her. He made that hole in which she fell down. He knocked her out in the middle of the air. He made sure that creeper blew up on her. But... He wasn't trying as hard as he could. He could kill her right there, or kidnap her right there, but he didn't. He was curious about her. The fact that she made weak armor for both of them instead of strong armor for herself, was weird. General Enderman almost doubted Herobrine's powers of turning her evil at the start. Almost.

But still, he had to make her life difficult. And they were in the mines, where mobs roam free. This is going to be better than he thought.

But first, he had to do something on the surface.

He teleported out, almost excited for what's happening next.

-<=>-

"Yeah buddy!" I was decked out in iron armor, as well as Charlie. "I could get used to this."

"You just need a helmet." He tossed me one.

"Naw, I'm good. But you could use one to protect that big head of yours."

"I'm hurt." He put it on. "But don't blame me when you get struck by an arrow in your head."

"I'm too quick for that." I swung my iron sword around.

Just then, I heard a sound, like a flat knock, and then a woosh. Charlie's eyes widen, and I turn to see a skeleton's arrow zooming toward me. I lift up my sword, and the arrow clangs off of it. Wasting no time, I run forward and knock the bow out of his hand. Before I could do anything else, Charlie swung his sword and decapitated the skeleton.

"I wanted to do that!" I pouted. "But hey, aren't you glad that I have a sword now, and I didn't listen to you?"

He didn't answer. "Incoming."

On our platform, two zombies, and a creeper were coming toward us.

I grabbed the bow and one arrow, and took aim. The zombies were closest, but the creeper was the biggest threat. I released, and the creeper fell with an arrow in it's head.

Charlie charged one Zombie, and I ran toward the other one. I sliced an arm off (thank goodness it isn't bloody) and stabbed him in the heart. Charlie decapitated the other one.

"You just love taking the head off of mobs, don't you." I walked toward him.

He shrugged, then looked panicked. "Move!" He pulled my arm back, and kicked the (still alive) creeper into the lava.

"You have to be more careful." Charlie warned me.

"I'm still supposed to be a newby at this stuff, remember?" I walked back, looking for more ores.

"We can't respawn anymore. If you die, that's it."

"Fine fine. Wait- anymore?"

He stiffened. "We used to be able to respawn when we die whenever."

I narrowed my eyes. I wanted to ask more questions and annoy him longer, but I saw something.

"DIAMONDS!" I did a little dance.

"Really?" Charlie looked around. "Where?"

I raised an eyebrow. "You can't see them? They're really far away. Over there."

On the other side of the ravine, there was a pocket of diamonds on a little alcove in the wall. It was really dark, but I could see them shine bright.

"Stop joking with me."

"I'm serious! Just go over there."

A minute later, we were on stone.

"Well, you were right." Charlie shook his head, but he looked happy.

I mined the diamonds, and we got 6.

"Cool. Now I can make 3 diamond hoes!" I grinned.

"Seriously."

"As serious as Santa Claus."

He rolled his eyes. It seemed like I was some-what of a pain for him. Oh well. Guess we'll have to build onto that relationship.

"Well this was a pretty good experience, I say we head up." He said as we walked back to the furnace. I nodded and grabbed the remaining iron.

"Lezgo." I mines the table and furnace, and we went back up to our staircase.

It took a little bit, but we finally made it to the surface. I felt decked out and OP in my armor, but also kind of sad that it was that easy.

When we got close to the village, I knew that I shouldn't have said that. I was pretty much challenging Minecraft to do better. Because there were screams, and the village was being destroyed.

-<+>-

Cliffhanger :)

But if you are one of those few people that are reading, spread the word about my story.

I'm not going to quit this in the middle. I mean, I have it all figured out. In fact, I get all tingly inside just thinking about it. That's how good this story is going to be.

I love writing, and I love Minecraft, so this story is going to be amazing. But it isn't the same when people don't read it.

Vote comment and enjoy.
