Updated 1/17/16 and holy notch I had a lot of mistakes.

Kat's dreams weren't on her list of favorite things. She had expected death, since she was shot twice and passed out. It would have made sense. But it felt like she was asleep, and she really hoped she was. However, she didn't expect the dreams.

She was standing on top of a steep hill, looking down on a valley. There was a river, trees, animals, and in the middle was a small town. She couldn't hear the people, but she could barely see things moving around in the villiage, carrying on their day. It was such a peaceful view.

But then a dark cloud passed over it, and every single bit of light faded away. Bits of red lightning started shooting out of the cloud and started hitting the town, setting the buildings on fire.

Kat started to run down, knowing that she had to help somehow, but reddish blackish swirls of rope-like air held her back. Then, a huge gust of dusty wind blew over the town, and everything started breaking apart and flying away. She wanted to look away, but she couldn't. The black cloud started to have a red glow as it grew bigger. It started to cover the whole town, as if it just swallowed civilization.

Watching the town's death, Kat felt like crying. All those innocent people... gone. She tried to look away, but she couldn't. The tendrils holding her started to increase. Soon they started melting with each other, turning black, and she was in some kind of cocoon.

Kat was in the dark again, but this time, the walls started closing in on her. She started to panic. In a minute she would be crushed, so she had to get out.

She started to kick and punch the walls, but they wouldn't budge. The walls started to push her chest against her knees, when everything faded away, and she woke up.

Instantly Kat felt uncomfortable. Then, she tried to focus, and realized she was laying face first on wood. She got up, and was shocked at where she was.

She was in a wooden house. It was much bigger than hers, and certainly much better. To Katherine's right was a bed, which she had probably fell out of. In front of her to the left was a table with three seats. Directly in front of the was a door. In the far right corner was a chest, she guessed, and some kind of gray block. It looked like it had a mouth, with fire in it. A furnace.

For once, Katherine didn't feel any pain when she thought of that. Probably because she was already feeling so horrible. Her arm and leg were bandaged, somehow, and she felt a faint throbbing in her head.

She sat on the bed, but immediately got up. Where was she? This place seemed harmless, but who found her? Who saved her? She felt excited that someone was in this world, but this wasn't the way she wanted them to meet her. On the run from monsters and having an arrow in her leg was not a good first impression.

She walked toward the door, afraid of what waited for her. Kat took a deep breath, and opened it.

The sunlight shined on her, so Kat thought she was just hallucinating for a second. But in front of her was a village. There were smaller houses that were like hers, but the biggest ones were like the one she was in, about 10 blocks long and 6 blocks wide. There was some kind of well, and plowed lands with crops growing. A cobblestone tower was the tallest building.

But then there were the villagers. They had a light brown skin, and had brown robes on. They had a big forehead, but the weirdest thing was their nose. It was huge, about 4 times the regular nose, and it hung in front of their mouth. With a creepy feeling, Kat realized she didn't even have a nose.

There were a lot of them walking about, but no one noticed her in the doorway. Kat walked out and shut the door behind her. She didn't know what to do next, so she walked into the stone tower, the building closest to her.

Inside was an alter at the back, with a fire blazing and fancy stone step designs. There was another level above her with a ladder going up to it. A person with pink robes stood behind the alter, staring at it.

Katherine cleared her throat. He looked up and smiled.

"So you're finally awake."

Katherine nodded.

"You caused a lot of confusion for us."

"I-I'm sorry?"

He chuckled. "Don't be. Anyone who could survive 2 arrows shots deserves any help they require. When Charlie hobbled into town with a girl in tow, it was quite a shock."

"What happened?"

He moved in front of the fire. "Charlie said he found you with an arrow in your leg and 2 skeletons and a zombie after you. You passed out, and Charlie fought them off."

She felt so grateful. Without this Charlie guy, Kat would have been dead.

"After the mobs left", He continued, "He took you to this village. You were lucky the village was close by. We took you to the house, and I bandaged you up."

"Thanks, man."

Instead of getting a positive response, he frowned. "It was a strange thing... your wounds..."

"What?" I asked.

"Your injuries." He mused. "They were quite peculiar..." He shook his head. "It isn't important at this second. Now, I am Bill."

"Bill." Kat repeated. Didn't seem like such a wise leader's name. Not going to judge.

"The fourth."

The fourth. Of course. "My name is Katherine, but you can call me Kat."

"Kat... what a... nice name. Well Kat, would you like to take a tour of the village?"

"Ahmm..." Kat didn't know if she would be staying here or not, but she nodded.

At that same exact time, another villager walked in, this one wearing black robes. He opened his mouth to talk to Bill, but then saw Kat, and his mouth closed.

"Ahh, here's Charlie. Charlie, do you have time to give Kat a tour of the village?"

Charlie nodded. "Yes. That was actually what I was going to say. I'm finished with the armor and it's ready to be delivered."

"Good. Excellent work Charlie. Thank you. Now if you would excuse me, I have to work on this." Bill turned toward the fire, so Kat was unable to see what he was doing.

Charlie started walking out the door. Kat followed, shutting the door behind her.

They walked out of the building, and looked back.

"I suppose we should start here." Charlie said. "This is the priest's tower. Bill is the town priest, but he's pretty much the leader as well. It's also where we pray to the gods."

"Who are the gods?" Katherine said, feelings a little silly.

"Well, there are a lot, but the main one is Notch."

"Notch?"

"Yeah. He's like the creator god... sort of..."

"Sort of?"

Charlie scratched his head. "Not sure if I'm the one to tell you this stuff. Lets move on."

He walked ahead, and that was the end of the conversation.

He showed Kat the houses, some super small, and others like the one house she was in before. Then, they came across a building made of cobblestone and wood, with some kind of half blocks made of stone on top. There was a door going in, two furnaces on the outside cooking, and a container with lava in it.

"This is the blacksmith, where I work. We cook metal and make it into things."

"I heard you talking to Bill about armor?"

Charlie looked uncomfortable. "yeah, villages make all kinds of stuff like food and weapons, and they ship it to the capital. Once there, well, I'm not sure. I've never been there before. They most likely ship them to the army bases."

Kat's head was spinning. Capitals, army bases, what was he talking about? She wanted to ask questions, but Charlie moved on.

There wasn't much stuff left. There was the cobblestone well where they got water, and there were farms. Charlie told Kat that they grew potatoes, carrots, melons, pumpkins, and wheat to make bread. They also had an animal farm with cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens.

Seeing those animals made Kat's stomach growl. She tried to cover it with a cough, but Charlie noticed.

"Hungry?"

Her stomach growled for an answer. "Yeah..."

Charlie laughed, and for once, he seemed chill. He told her to wait, and went to talk to a villager. The villager saw Kat, and nodded quickly. He put something in Charlie's hand, and Charlie came back toward her as the villager tended to his crops.

He gave her what was in his hand. There was a piece of bread.

"Thank you." Kat took a bite, and shoved it in her mouth. Despite it being so little, she felt so full.

Kat swallowed. "So is that it?"

Charlie nodded. "Yep. And your decision?"

She must have looked confused, because Charlie explained. "Are you going to be staying here?"

"I... I—"

"Oh come on." He said, as if this was obvious. "No offense, but you won't be able to survive out there. I mean, not until you actually know a few things."

Kat felt a little offended. "Excuse me? I just dropped into this world 2 days ago! I didn't know anything! I managed to destroy, I managed to craft, I managed to-"

"Hooold on." Charlie put his hands up, telling her to back off. "You said you don't know anything?"

"No! I woke up with no memory. Bits and pieces are coming back, but-"

"No memory?" He said it as if Kat was lying. "Like, you don't know anything about Minecraft, or yourself?"

So Minecraft was the name of this world. "Is that wrong? To not know anything about myself?"

Instead of answering, Charlie started pacing, mumbling about how it would explain a few things, and that he'd have to tell Bill about it. Then, he looked at her like he was wondering why she was here. "Well, now you have to stay until you know a few things. You dont even have your inventory pack."

"Inventory...?" Kat closed her eyes and put her hands up in surrender.

Charlie sighed, and went into the nearest building. He came out a minute later, holding a backpack in his hand. "This is an inventory bag. You can mold it into any carrier you want." He squished the backpack until it started shrinking, and was covered by his hand. Then, Charlie spread his hands, and he was holding a messanger bag. "As long as it is reasonable." He handed it to Kat.

She thoguth for a sec, and crushed the bag. When it was covered by her hand, she felt like it wasn't even there. Then, she spread her hands, and she held a belt with 4 small pouches. "Like this?"

Charlie nodded, looking impressed. "Yeah. I'm surprised you learned that so quickly. Each pouch can hold any mass of an object, but they only hold 9 spaces. You can stack though. Each stack is-"

"64 blocks." Kat cut him off. When he looked at her weirdly, she said, "I did it with wood before."

Charlie shrugged. "Okay. Speaking of items, do you know much?"

Katherine shook her head no.

Charlie sighed again. "Well, you've got a lot to learn."
