Charlie went into a house, but this time, he stopped at the door and gestured for Kat to follow. She stepped into the building.

It was like a miniature library, with a few shelves of books, and a table with a few chairs. At the end was a chest and a crafting table.

Kat's brain freeze came back, and she winced.

"You okay?" Charlie asked her.

"I- I'm fine."

Charlie looked unconvinced, but he moved on. "This is our library. It's a little small, but it still has a lot about the Minecraft blocks."

He took out a green book, and handed it to Kat. "This talks about all the surface blocks. Wood, grass, sand, gravel, all of them. And this..."

Charlie pulled out a thick blue one. "Is all of the underground ores."

He put it on top of the green book in Kat's hand.

"Wait. You're going to have me read these? That's it?" Kat asked.

Charlie considered it, and exhaled. "I guess I can show you a few things. Follow. And bring the books."

With the books in her hand, Kat followed Charlie out of the library.

He stopped in the middle of the path and kneeled. "This is gravel. You use a shovel to break it easy, and sometimes you get flint, which is used to make arrows, and flint and steel for lighting fires."

Wow. Katherine was amazed about how much a single block has to do with everything.

"How do you make a shovel? And what is steel? And-"

"Woah woah woah, calm down." He scratched his head. "Okay, so maybe I started this out wrong." Charlie went back into the library, and Kat followed.

He stopped at the crafting table. "Okay, so this is a crafting table. You can usually be able to craft a few objects without it, like wood and sticks, and a crafting table, but using it can help you with making a lot of stuff. For example...."

Charlie tapped the crafting table and a holographic image appeared above it, showing 9 boxes.

"This is how you craft. Here, I'll make a shovel, since we were talking about it."

Charlie opened the chest, and brought out a few sticks and a light gray ingot.

"This is an iron ingot. It is the steel in flint and steel. Why they call it steel, I don't know. Anyway, this is how you make a shovel."

Charlie put the iron in the top middle box, and, to Kat's amazement, it stuck there. He then put a stick in the box under it, and a stick in the box under that one. He swiped the image, and a shovel appeared in mid air. Grabbing it, he tossed it to Kat. "Hold this."

Charlie rummaged through the shelves, looking for a book. Then, he must have found what he was looking for, because he pulled out a new-looking brown book and set in on the table. Charlie took the shovel back and tapped the book. Kat half expected it to have a hologram pop out of it, but no.

"This is a crafting guide. It teaches you about how to craft about every block. However, it doesn't tell you what the blocks are for, so you'll have to learn about that without sticking your head in the book." He handed it to Kat. "This one is yours."

Kat took it, and opened one of her pouches. She put it in there, and it shrunk as it disappeared from view. That would make sense. She didn't know how many blocks would fit in there, but it would've been a little too small.

"There's so much stuff in this world." Kat murmured.

He chuckled. "Yeah, there is even other worlds."

"There is?"

"Yeah. I heard some legend that they were further down in the earth past bedrock, but I doubt it. There's the End, where the dragon awaits with his endless group of endermen. And there's the Nether-" He faltered.

"What is it?"

Charlie shook his head. "The Nether used to be a free place where people can go and fight mobs that only spawn there, but lately something is happening there."

"What?"

He shook his head again. "Let's not talk about that now. Here, to make this learning thing easier, pick a topic, and we can work on it."

Kat looked around. What could she learn about first without feeling like someone is hitting her against the wall over and over? Then, she caught her eye on something through the window outside.

"Farming."

Charlie nodded in agreement. "Farming. Good. Not too easy not too hard, and harmless but essential. Let's get to work."

Kat and Charlie spent the rest of the day learning about the kind of crops, how to grow them, and how to farm them. She discovered about cookies and cake, and she was in love. She learned how to make a hoe, and plowed some new farms. Charlie gave her a water bucket, and she made sure they weren't too dry. She planted wheat, potatoes, and carrots. Soon, Kat was a natural at farming.

"You're learning this all very fast." Charlie noticed when Kat crafted a piece of bread, and ate it.

"Yeah." She didn't want to tell him about the pains. She had a lot while learning. But she didn't want to freak anyone out even more. "Guess I'm just a boss."

Charlie laughed, but his smile faded. "It's almost night. We should get inside."

He led Kat to the house she woke up in. Then he walked to the house next door.

"This is mine. You can have that one. Good night."

He walked inside his house. Kat went into the house, and it seemed to look friendlier than before.

She walked to the bed and sat down. Today, Kat's hope grew, since she learned new stuff and discovered that she wasn't alone. There was also a Capital that Charlie mentioned.

Kat felt so happy and excited, she thought that she couldn't go to sleep. But a minute after her head hit the pillow, she fell asleep.

This time, Kat didn't have any nightmares. But she did have a dream. She was surrounded by white fluff, like she was in the clouds. There was a golden light around her, and she realized that it was coming from her. Then, a gentle voice spoke,

"I am sorry."

Kat whirled around, expecting to find someone, but no one was there. Like the voice was coming from nothing.

"I was desperate. He was rising too soon, so I had to deploy my last weapon. I have caused you misery so far, but you must understand that it is the only way."

"Only way..." Kat was confused. "What is the only way? And who are you?"

"I cannot answer the second one for your own good. As for the first one, you will find out yourself. If you found out now, your destiny will be worse."

Typical. Kat thought. Enter my dreams, tell me my destiny in riddles, and not answer my questions. Wow.

"What-" Kat started, but a big wind started pushing her back. It was all she could do to stay grounded.

"I must go. But remember what I said."

"But-!"

"Goodbye."

The wind forced Kat off her feet, and she flew through the air. She hit an invisible wall, but it didn't hurt, and the next thing she knew, she was sitting up in her bed.

She was trembling. The dream wasn't scary, but it gave her the creeps.

Who was that guy? Kat thought. And what was he talking about my destiny?

She got up slowly and looked out the window. It was still night, but the sun was about to come up. Kat knew she wouldn't be able to go back asleep.

Then, she saw something outside. It was a skeleton. With a bow. She knew that it was the same one that shot her. Kat didn't know how she did, but crazy things happen.

It had its back to her and was staring at something in the distance.

Kat's arm throbbed, and she felt mad.
She walked over to the door, but hesitated. She looked over at the chest, and opened it. Inside was a bunch of wood.

Okay Kat, she thought, let's try this.

Kat grabbed a piece. It was oak wood. She placed it on the crafting table, and swiped it. It turned into wooden planks. Kat smiled and grabbed them. She put two in the chest, and went back to the table. She put a piece in it, and put one under it. Swiping it, they turned into sticks.

Kat smiled as her pain came back. But this time, she didn't care. She needed to make a weapon for revenge. She looked back out the window. The skeleton hasn't moved, but the sun had. It was almost up. Earlier, Charlie told Kat that the villagers like to wake up when the sun is barely up.

Kat didn't have enough time to make a weapon. She had to do this before they woke up, otherwise they'd stop her. Kat grabbed her stick. That'll be her weapon.

She walked over to the door and opened it. Looking out, she saw that no one was up yet.

She walked over to the side so she can spy on the skeleton. It was stilling staring. It wasn't able see her.

Kat crept forward. She was about 15 blocks behind it, when she saw it was looking at.

Far in the distance was another skeleton. But it wasn't like any other skely. It was 3 times taller than an ordinary one. It had a crossbow in each hand, loaded with 3 arrows. Kat shuddered.

The big skeleton made a chattering noise, and the little one nodded. Then, the giant vanished from sight.

Kat wasn't sure what she had just seen. But the skeleton started walking to the left, so she had to go for it. She ran forward at the skeleton.

The thing is, the skeleton can be able to see her from the corner of its hollow eye. It turned at Kat, but she kept running. Notching an arrow, it shot at her. Kat dodged it, and threw her stick at it. It impaled the skeleton right in the right eye, and it fell down.

Kat huffed and walked over. She pulled the stick out and started walking to the house before anyone saw her.

"Kat?"

Crap.

Charlie was holding a water bucket in his hand, staring at her. Then, he dropped it, and shouted, "Watch out!"

Kat frowned and turned, seeing that the skeleton was up and back. It had another arrow notched, and let it go straight at her.

Time slowed down, again. The arrow was coming straight for her chest, and Kat was aware of Charlie yelling and running toward her She was about to be prepared for death, but... no.

Kat reached out and caught the arrow. The skeleton made a strangled sound, then notched another. She ran at it full speed and kicked the bow out of his hand.

The skeleton started running away. Kat picked up the bow and notched the arrow that she caught. She aimed at the skeleton, and let it go. It was about, a bunch of blocks away, like, 100 blocks away, but the arrow hit its head, and it fell down.

Kat dropped the bow she held, and looked back at Charlie in disbelief. His jaw was down, so she was actually able to see his mouth over his big nose (haha lol).

Then, after a minute, he spoke.

"I think... we need to speak to the priest."
