"Joe, check up on the reports of last night." Jake said to the guard as we walked out.
Turns out that the guard's name was Joe. Just a bit of random information.
"See ya later, Joe." I waved at the guard as me and Jake went out the door of the building. He frowned, obviously displeased that Jake said his name out loud.
"So what do ya have in this place?" I asked Jake.
"You'll see." He said, vaguely.
Well then.
Jake seemed too serious. He only answered what he needed to, and the only time that he seemed casual was when the Traitor, Jewel, came up to him, and he chuckled.
"This is the armory." He gestured to the first building to the right. It was Quartz, like the theme, but had iron blocks outline the building in the corners. "It has all of our armor and weapons. Of course we keep it near the middle of the town so invaders can't get to it easily."
"You have a lot of invaders?" I asked.
"Well..." He said, unsurely. "We have some brave enderman try to get in, but they teleport out before getting anything. And then there are some troll army bases that try to steal."
"Troll army bases?"
"People that like to steal, grief, prank, and stuff like that. Bodil40's is the biggest one, but he hasn't tried to steal anything lately."
"Oh." Bodil40? Sounds like boatdil.
"This is our market." He waved to a long building that had a lot of people coming in and out. "We don't have many stores, so this is like a mall."
I was going to say something, but then a little kid ran up to Jake. He had brown hair and brown eyes, and a giant blue hoodie like the snipers do. He looked like he was 7 years old.
"Hey Jake!" The kid leaped up to Jake, who barely caught him, chuckling.
"Hi Danny." He answered back. "What's up?"
"Is it true that you found her?" Danny asked Jake, eagerness in his eyes.
Jake gestured to me. Danny's eyes followed, and when they saw me, they widened.
"Woah! That's so cool! Hi I'm Danny. I already know who you are! But you don't look like yourself. That's okay. I won't judge." He said with one breath.
"Hi Danny." I laughed.
Jake set him down. "Did you get to shoot today?"
The little kid's eyes brighten even more. "Yep! I almost hit the bullseye!"
"Really? Wow!" Jake held his hand up for a high five, and the kid accepted.
"Well, we should get going. I'm showing Kat around."
"Are you going to stay?" Danny asked me.
"Um..." I looked to Jake. He shrugged. "I might."
Danny giggled. "Are you going to be Jake's girlfriend?"
"Ohhhkay Danny. You should go back and practice some more. See ya later." Jake said quickly and pushed Danny in the right direction.
"Bye guys!" The kid ran away.
I raised an eyebrow. "Huh."
Jake looked back at me and his face was slightly red. "S-Sorry about that. Danny, he's full of energy."
"What's he practicing for?" I asked, amused that Danny and I made Jake stutter.
"He's a sniper-in-training." He answered back immediately.
"This young?"
"He wants to be one really bad. Plus, we'll need all the manpower we can get."
I stopped and stared at him. "You aren't going to send him out there, are you?"
He looked at the ground. "I'd never when he's this age. But when he's older, yes."
"I like Danny." I stated when we started walking again.
"His mom passed away when he was a baby. And his dad's a full time guard, so he barely sees him. I took care of Danny when no one else couldn't, and I'm like a big brother to him."
"Oh." I felt bad for Danny. "What about your family?"
He looked away. "It's complicated."
Touchy subject.
"Here are the army camps." We stopped in front of a large group of tents. There were a lot, I decided to start counting.
"13, 14, 15, 16..." I said as I pointed.
"What are you..." He started
"Shh. Don't make me lose count. 17, blue, 19, applesauce,"
"What?" He threw his hands up. "I give up. There are around 50 tents, each able to hold 4 people."
"So there are..." I scrunched my face up in concentration. I knew the answer, but I was trying to get Jake to react.
"200. There are 200." He said, disbelieving.
"I know. So people actually live in them?"
"No. They sometimes live in their houses with their family. They only train and such when there is a threat. Which there kind of is."
"Oh." Dang it, why did he always make the conversation awkward in a sad way? Is it him, or the situation? I feel like it's the war and stuff. He seemed really at ease with Danny, so I just have to make the fun side of him come out. I'm on a mission.
"A mission for what?" Jake asked.
Crap. I didn't know I said that last part out loud.
"To, uh, regain my memory."
He gave me a weird look. "Do you think you had a better life before than you could have now?"
I frowned. "I don't know, I can't remember."
"But do you think?"
I thought. It seemed weird, thinking that I had another life before.
"No. Because then I probably couldn't have met the people I know."
"Like me?" He asked, without looking at me.
"Nooo." I said sarcastically. He cracked a small smile at that.
"Good. But anyways, lets get on with the tour."

"I'm hungryyy." I complained for the hundredth time.
"Breakfast is just in a few minutes." Jake said, with a little irritation showing in his voice.
"But what if I can't wait a few minutes, and I get so hungry that I blow up."
"Doubt that, drama queen." He countered.
"Okay, but Jewel is hungry too. She could eat me."
"That's good." He said, nonchalantly. We were walking back to the big town hall place.
"Well then." I said dramatically, gasping.
~<>~ JAKE'S POV ~<>~
"Well then." She gasped.
I chuckled on the inside. She was such a joker. It seemed like she kept trying to make me smile. But I am a leader, and I can't show a lot of emotion.
Besides, she isn't really supposed to joke. She's supposed to be a leader, too. Wise, demanding, somewhat cold, and always expects the best. At least, that's what I've heard. Those could just be myths. But I hope they aren't. We need someone like that to help win this war.
However, someone who's funny, charming, likes to cheer people up- wait what am I saying? Anyways, we could use someone like that too.
"Hello? Minecraft to Jake!"
I snapped back to reality. Kat had her hand waving in front of my face.
"Sorry about that." I cleared my throat.
"You just stared into space for a little bit." She noticed.
I looked around and saw a lot of people heading towards the eating area.
"I think it's time for breakfast." I said quickly to change the conversation.
"BREAKFAST!" She ran to join the others.
I chuckled. She's going to be a handful.
