Chapter 32- The Hunger Games Part 2
Time went by. I assumed that it stayed day, but the sun was setting. In fact, the time went faster here. It was mid day when we started, and 30 minutes later, it's turning night. Well, it seemed maybe a few more minutes till night.
Me and Jake got more stackeded. I got some more chain armor, and an iron helmet. Jake got lucky and got iron leggings. But he also had gold booties. We both got stone swords, but I had an iron ingot. We agreed that whoever finds the next ingot gets the sword.
Cannons kept going off, but we weren't seeing much action. I swore I saw someone at some point, but Jake ignored me. How rude.
We were walking past a place with a sharp cliff, us at the bottom. The top had a graveyard of some sorts. I wanted to check it out, but Jake said it was probably already looted.
"It doesn't hurt to try." I stopped.
"It could very much." Jake sighed.
"I'm winging it." I ran back to the path going up.
"You're crazy." Jake muttered, but eventually I heard him coming after me.
I looked around the stone graves. Most of them were crosses, or just headstones. There was a crypt further on. Finally, I spotted a chest tucked in a grave. I walked over and opened it, only to find a single egg.
"Woooowwwww." I said. "Rip off."
"Told ya." Jake said.
I stuck my tongue out at him. Picking up the egg, I threw it at him. He tried to duck, but it still hit him. He glared at me, ready to argue, but then he blinked. He stumbled back, trying to grab for something.
"Are you okay?" I rushed to help him be stable.
"Everything is all weird." He tried to focus, gripping my shoulder. "I feel dizzy. I'm gonna puke..."
"I'm out!" I put my hands up, causing Jake to fall face first on the ground.
He laid there for a few seconds, then managed to get up. He rubbed his head. "Please stop throwing things at me."
"Never!" I laughed.
Someone else chuckled. Like, really creepily. From nowhere.
"Whadda! Whodja!" I blurted out, pointing my sword everything.
"Careful with that thing!" Jake warned me, but looked around as well. "Who goes there?"
"You will never know." Someone said from a different place.
"Hi Ty." I guessed randomly.
"Hi Kat."
"Ty!" Another voice said.
"Sorry!"
"If that's Ty," Jake thought. "I'm gonna guesstimate and say that the other one is Adam."
"Noooo." The voice said in a suspicious way, his pitch rising.
"So they're both invisible?" I said, and me and Jake went back to back.
"Yep!" Ty said.
"Invisibility potion." Jake cursed. "Could be anywhere."
"But if it's a potion, can't we see the particles?" I asked, sweeping my eyes everywhere.
"They're practically impossible to spot."
I almost cursed, myself.
"Don't worry, we're just going to play with you guys before we end you." Adam said in a cheerful voice.
That made it worse.
I thought about the senses. We couldn't see them, but we also had hearing, smell, taste, and feel. I honestly didn't want to lick anything, or smell anything, and I doubt they'd let me get close enough to touch them. So that left hearing.
"So..." I said awkwardly. "How are you guys?"
"Good, good." Ty said.
I tried to focus his voice. It was definitely coming from the left of me, near a cross gravestone. I squinted, and could barely see some kind of light blue/gray particles swirling. Perfect.
I could try to shoot him with my bow, to reveal him, but I would only have one shot before he'd disappear. Plus, Adam could get us before we get Ty.
"Let's just get this over with." Adam sighed, to my right. "The potion is running out soon."
"Aww, okay." Ty was still in the same spot as before.
I wasn't thinking. But it was our only chance.
I quickly switched out my bow and grabbed an arrow. Without even pausing, I notched it, strung back, and let go near the cross gravestone.
A yelp. The arrow was floating in midair, the point lodged in Ty somewhere. Probably his shoulder.
I rushed forward with my sword now, Jake following me. The arrow was moving around, Ty trying to pull it out.
"No!" Adam said to my right.
A gold sword appeared out of nowhere, held by Adam. He was about to hit me, but Jake cut it down from the side, making him drop it. I got out my bow again, and managed to shoot Adam.
"Son of a creeper!" He yelled. He backed away, and then we managed to see him. The potion wore off. I looked over at Ty and saw his had worn off as well. He had the arrow out of him now.
Adam must've not known he was visible yet. He slowly crept forward and settled on one knee next to his sword, ready to grab it.
"Pssst." I said, excited. "The potion wore off."
He looked down at himself. He then looked at Ty, who stared back at him. Then, Adam grabbed his gold sword, and they both ran away.
"Let's go!" Jake shouted, and we sprinted after them.
The chase was on.
~ Infinity's POV ~
(~This next part's climate isn't precisely in the real map I'm basing this off of, but when I pictured this part, it was like this. So just go with it~)
I pretty much had to team up with Gordon. Everyone else was pairing up, so I couldn't be alone, or else I'd be double teamed. Not saying that I'd lose. But... you know. Safety precautions.
I had gotten a bow in one of the cornucopia chests immediately, so I naturally slammed it into a bot, and stole their chest. In all, I got some armor, food, and some arrows. So I was set. I didn't have a melee weapon, but I could always beat people with my bow.
Gordon was closing a chest when I grabbed him.
"We're teaming. I'm in charge." I said as I dragged him out of the coliseum.
"Fine." He threw away from my grip once we got outside, which surprised me. "But this is a team. No one is in charge, we are both 50% in this."
"Let's go over here." I pointed to a forest, ignoring him.
"Okay." He said willingly.
It was a pretty big forest. Some trees were dark oaks, so they had a 2 by 2 trunk. Some of the branches were low, so it was a good spot to snipe people out.
"I'm gonna go on top." I patted a good tree to climb. "Since you are part of this team, you can do whatever."
"I'll look for chests down here." He decided. "If you are in trouble, caw."
"Caw?"
"Caw-caw!" He put his hands near his mouth and cawed.
"That's so stupid." I said. Then, I shrugged. "But whatever." I jumped up to grab a thick branch. I pulled myself onto it, and climbed another one through the leaves. My head was barely poking out of the top, so I grabbed some leaves and hoped they support me. They did.
(~NOTE: Me again. Minecraft leaves are solid, and the ones in this story are semisolid. They can support someone, and chests, but not anything heavy, like a tank. I don't think there are any tanks in this story, though. Dang. ~)
I had a pretty good view up here. I could see the coliseum from here, and see that the forest spread out maybe a 100 blocks in each direction.
There were also chests up hęre. I walked forward a little and opened one. Iron helmet, bowl, steak, and stone axe. Okay.
We spent a little while just exploring. I was finding chests on top, and Gordon was doing whatever down there. Pretty soon, I got some decent gear.
"CAW CAW!" I heard Gordon yell.
I sighed, put the helmet on, and looked for an opening in the leaves. I found one, and jumped down, landing on a branch. Gordon was running to me, chased by a bot with a stone sword. Fabulous.
I notched my arrow as Gordon ran under me. I let it go, and it sailed into the bot's forehead. It stumbled back, looking like a unicorn. I jumped down, slicing it as I went, and it disintegrated.
"In yo face!" I said to the remains.
"Thanks." Gordon huffed from behind me.
"I get the sword." I responded, tossing him my axe, and grabbing the stone sword.
"Fair enough." Gordon sighed.
We spent a little longer exploring the forest. I was still finding chests on top, and Gordon explored the bottom. We both got more stacked, as cannons went off.
I pretty much finished on top, and was just about to head down, when I heard Gordon.
"CAW CAW!" He said frantically. "CAW CAW!"
This time, I knew it was urgent. I quickly jumped down and searched for him.
Then, a cannon. And it sounded awfully close.
Let's see. I can either go and see if he's still alive, or come to the conclusion that he is dead, and run.
I slowly crept forward, looking for a sign of movement in the trees. I was tempted to caw, but if Gordon was out, then it would attract his attacker. But if the attacker was wounded...
Thunk! An arrow sailed and implanted itself in the tree next to me, 5 inches from my face. I doubted he was wounded.
Mitch appeared from behind a tree. He had on an iron chestplate, and the rest chain. He held a bow, but switched to an iron sword.
I looked down at my armor. I had mostly chain and gold, and an iron helmet. I didn't have the gear, and I knew that Mitch was a much better fighter than me.
"Hello." He said, grinning.
"Hey." I waved. "Bye." I turned and ran in the opposite direction.
All that time in the biome training at the army camp really paid off. There was plenty of roots to jump over, branches to dodge, and parkour. At some point I brought out my bow to shoot at Mitch, but he would either dodge or block it with his sword.
Finally, I did a derp. Well, it wasn't particularly my fault. I was running in a straight line, and Mitch shot me in the leg. I tried to keep running, but I tripped and fell.
I crawled to a tree to get myself up, but I heard leaves crunch behind me. I turned and saw Mitch smiling, barely dazed from all the running.
"You won't get away with this." I said, dramatically.
"I'm not a bad guy." He pouted. Then, he gave me a toothy grin. "I'm the king of the hunger games. Any last words?"
"You suck." I stuck my tongue out.
He chuckled, while notching an arrow. He pointed it at me, and let go.
~
I jerked my head forward. I was in the iron room from before. Now it seems sadder.
On the couches were Abby, Charlie, Lydia, Ian, Lachlan, Skye and Jon (arguing), and Gordon, looking glum.
"I tried." He said as I took off the helmet and walked over to sit.
"It's fine." I sighed. "It's all Mitch's fault."
Abby snorted. "Are you kidding?"
Gordon waved at her to stop, but she kept going. "Gordon begged to be spared, saying that you were there, too. But Mitch showed no mercy."
I turned slowly to Gordon, who was slowly moving away. "Now, Infinity..."
"You are so dead."

Awwwwwww poor Gordon.
The next part shall be the final part. I think it's going to be longer, considering that there are still 10 people and 3 bots alive. Here's the thingy.
