Chapter 30- Birch Please
"Well." He paused, for dramatic effect. "Notch and Herobrine are brothers."
He let that sink in, as if it was a bombshell. Frankly, it wasn't.
"Oh." I said, meekly. "Cool."
"Cool?" Ian raised an eyebrow. "How?"
"Well it's not like it's surprising to me." I shrugged. "I don't know anything about them."
"Well it should be surprising." Mitch said. "Since one's good and one's bad."
"Oh. Okay. Can I get a redo?" I asked.
"REWIND." Infinity shouted, pointing to the ceiling.
Adam stared at us for a second. Then, he said with uncertainty, "Notch and Herobrine are brothers."
"NO." I gasped.
"Yes!" Jordan said.
"So that has to do with the war?" I asked.
"Pretty much." Rob said. He put his feet up on the table, but Preston kicked them off.
"Yeah, umm let's just say..." Jerome said awkwardly. "Okay so they are both immortal, right?—"
"Yeah, they're gods." I shrugged.
Lachlan winced. "Not at birth..."
"... How?..." I threw my hands up. "Might as well tell me their whole life story."
"Another time." Vikk sighed. "Too much stuff."
"Anyways." Jerome started again. "A long time ago, like really long ago, even before baccas—"
"Get on with it!" Mitch threw a cooked fish at him.
Jerome punched the fish out of the air and hissed, rubbing his knuckles. "No vile creatures! And stop interrupting me!" He sighed. "Again, a long time ago, they got into this big fight. Like, really big. You'll have to read up on it later, but ever since then, they've been mortal enemies. Well, immortal, technically."
"But they've kept their distance," Ian continued. "Until a while ago. Don't ask me what, but something drew them over the edge. Herobrine and Notch got into it again. They argued. Notch wanted peace and order, Herobrine wanted revenge and chaos. He also wanted to rule the lands."
"So Notch came to us." Ty finished. "Well, not us. We weren't a part of the council back then. But he went to the council, and warned them about Herobrine. He gave them something, and then left. Notch was never heard from again."
"Dang." Gordon raised his eyebrows.
"What did he give them?" Abby asked. It was clear that she hasn't heard the story before either.
"Another thing for another time." Mitch got up and stretched. "I see that we're done eating. Who wants to play a game?"
"Me!!" Infinity raised her hands frantically like a little kid.
"What are we going to play?" Jon asked.
"I know." Jerome grinned evilly. "Hunger Games."
~<>~
I didn't know what Hunger Games was, and Jerome and Mitch felt offended. So they explained it to me, with a lot of head shaking and "I can't believe you"s.
So, it's a simulator. Everyone puts on a headset, and they are in a virtual world that looks just like the real world. You can talk, move, and kill people. Of course, it doesn't hurt the person, but diminishes their "hearts". Each person has 10 hearts, but half hearts count, so it's 20. If you die, you're out, and have to watch the game from a screen.
As for the game itself, it's to the death. At the start, there is a cornucopia where people can race to chests to get food, weapons, armor, etc. Then, they spread out, searching for more chest loots and killing more players. Teams are allowed, but in our case, 2 is the maximum amount of players on a team. Once there is four players left, death match counter starts. People have 3 minutes to get to the cornucopia again, for the chests will be refilled. When the counter ends, they are all transported in an arena in which they battle until only one survives.
So it's not your friendly game of tag. But it involves death, so I decided to play. So did the 10 members of the council, Jake, Gordon, Infinity, Skye, Jon, and 8 generated bots in the game. Abby sucked at pvp, so she didn't play, and Charlie was too busy flirting with Lydia (puke).
We were all in an iron walled room. There were 24 seats, but only 14 were occupied. There was also a few couches for people to watch the game on a giant screen.
"You guys ready?" Adam asked as a few guys came in with red helmets. He took one and hovered it over his head.
"Yep." Jake grabbed one.
"Remember that once you're out, take off the helmet." Jerome warned.
"Gotcha." I said as I grabbed one.
We all simultaneously put them on, and all I saw was darkness. Then, a little static. It was like I opened my eyes. We were all in a giant dark stone room. The only 'decorations' were 24 pod things in a giant circle. Each pod contained one person.
I moved my head, and my arms. "This is so freaky."
"You'll get used to it." Mitch laughed, right next to me. "But a little warning, stay away from the cornucopia. It's a bloodbath."
"Gotcha."
I was so going to the cornucopia.
"The Hunger Games simulator will begin." A deep robotic voice said from nowhere.
"Good luck!" Adam said.
"Have fun everyone!" Ian shouted.
"Don't kill me!" Jordan said.
Birch please. I'll kill everyone here. And I would say that out loud, in a very sassy attitude, but I didn't have time.
All of a sudden, everyone's pod rose up. In the air, through the ceiling. Then, sunlight.
We were in a coliseum. It was made of Quartz, and had a dirt and grassy ground. There were four exits, and in the middle was a group of chests. Parkour was made to go up to a crafting table on a flag.
The sunlight was fake, as well of the grass, but it all looked so real. Everything looked real. Everything felt real.
"Let the countdown begin." The voice said.
"5..."
My heart raced for some reason.
"4..."
My adrenaline pumped.
"3..."
I looked over to Jake, 5 people to my right. I nodded at him, him nodding back.
"2..."
Something coursed through my body. Excitement?
"1..."
I grinned. Showtime.
A noise shook the ground as we all jumped from our pods. I ignored Mitch's advice and ran to the cornucopia. He didn't seem happy about it, as I saw him narrow his eyes at me at the corner of my eye.
I made it there just before everyone else, and quickly opened a chest. Inside were iron booties, 2 apples, and a stick. No weapon. Unless you count the stick. Crap.
I saw Preston pull out a stone sword and stab the robot next to me. It jerked away, into me, and Preston stabbed it again. A cannon went off, and it disintegrated, leaving a leather chest plate that Preston picked up. He looked at me, and I backed away, but he mouthed "go". I ignored everything else that was happening, and quickly ran away.
"Kat!"
A cannon rang.
I turned and saw Jake running toward me. He had a stone axe. But the look in his eye told me that he wasn't going to kill me.
He grabbed my hand when he caught up to me. "Run!"
We both ran out of there, to who knows where.

Eyyyyyyy okay my updating spree is done.
So I decided that this book is going to end around 40 chapters. And can I say that I am stoked? Well I am stoked.
Question: If you could style a hunger games map, what would it be like? (Ex- Completely water, winter wonderland, desert, etc)
