Chapter 28- I'm Terrible At Flirting Apparently.

The title is very true. My zodiac sign is supposed to be very flirty easily, but if I had to flirt with a guy, I'd be like "umm nice ears".

Sorry. Rambling. Enjoy!

Charlie clearly knew what he was doing.

When we got to the City Hall, we went inside. The lobby was big and beautiful, with plenty of plants, paintings, and seats. Two elevators were at the back, and to the far right, there was a small room with giant glass windows. A lady was typing on a real computer in the cubicle thingy, with filing cabinets behind her. Daaaang.

"This place be fancy." Gordon nodded, practically reading my mind.

"They get some pretty cool stuff." Charlie said. Another tour guide. "It's like experimenting. They try out new things, and if it's good, then it's released into Minecraft."

"Sweet." Abby said.

Charlie nodded. Then, he walked over to the lady. She had big glasses, short curly blonde hair, and wore a yellow dress.

"Hey, Lydia." Charlie said to the lady.

She blushed. "Hello, Charlie. Back so soon?"

"Don't sound disappointed." Charlie winked at her.

WAIT WHAT.

"WAIT WHAT." I said my thoughts out loud.

As everyone bursted into laughter, Charlie rolled his eyes. He turned to "Lydia". "Is the council okay to have a meeting asap?"

Lydia tutted. "They are very busy, you know."

"Come on." Charlie gave a sly smile. "For me?"

"I'm gonna puke." I grabbed my stomach and turned away.

Everyone started laughing again. Charlie grumbled something at me.

"I suppose I could let you in." Lydia smiled. Immediately, her computer made a noise, and she turned to it. "Huh, well would you look at that."

"What?" Charlie asked, trying to get a view.

"What a coincidence. Their next meeting just moved up 30 minutes. So you can go up right now, actually." She smiled brighter. "You must be a lucky man."

"Lucky to meet you." Charlie winked again.

"MY EARS. MY BEAUTIFUL NON-EXISTING EARS." I cowered to the ground.

"Same." Infinity raised her hand.

"Well, you should go in now." Lydia said. "See you later."

"Hopefully soon." Charlie said, and walked toward the elevators.

"Top floor." He said as we all got in. Luckily, the elevator held 10 people, and we had 8. Charlie pushed the top button, and the elevator started going up.

"What the fladoodle was that?" I gagged.

"What?" Charlie asked me. "You've never seen flirting before?"

"Never ever." I shook my head. "What is it."

"Allow me to educate you!" Gordon stepped up. "You see, flirting is a part of life. It's the talk that you do with your crush. For example...." He slid next to Abby. "Hey girl. Do you have a map? Because I'm getting lost in your eyes."

Abby rolled her eyes. "I'll make you get lost."

"Ouch." Gordon winced. "And if at first you don't succeed, try try again."

"I still don't get it." I frowned. "Why would you get lost in her eyes?"

"Because they are beautiful." Gordon grinned.

"But still, how can you get lost?"

"B-because! Because...." Gordon looked around. Then, he huffed. "You're ruining it!"

I put my hands up. "Sorry. I guess I'm just bad at that stuff."

The elevator door dinged, and opened. We were in a horizontal hall, with giant double doors 10 blocks in front of us, and the hallway spreading on both sides. Each side was a dead end, with a giant window, potted plant, and seat.

"Are you guys ready?" Charlie asked, putting his hands on the doors.

"No." Infinity said.

We all just looked at her as she tapped her foot, looking around mindlessly. Then, she nodded. "Okay, now I'm ready."

Charlie sighed. "Okay, so I'm going to go in alone. I will ease them into the idea of her here, then someone can come in and help me."

"I'll do it." Jake stepped forward.

"Okay. As for the rest of you, just wait out here."

"Even me?" I pouted.

"Yes, especially you." Charlie said. "In case it goes wrong."

"Fiiiiiine." I huffed. I stepped to the side.

"Okay. Here we go." Charlie knocked on the door.

"Enter." A voice filled the hallway. There must've been a speaker system or something.

Charlie took a deep breath, and opened the door.

O.O ._. Carry on.

As Charlie disappeared from view, I heard a voice from the other room.

"Hey! Aren't you the guy from before?" A guy asked. "The one about the priest?"

"Pretty sure." Another confirmed.

"Yes. I was." Charlie said.

"Must be an important villager." Someone grunted. "What's it about this time?"

Charlie cleared his throat. "Well..." He swallowed. "As you all know, we are in a pre-war."

"Noooooo."

"And you all know how the war was sort of caused."

I don't.

"Well, what I tell you could either make it better or worse. Hopefully, you take it for the better."

"Just tell us what it is." Someone sighed.

Charlie took a deep breath. "Katherine is awake."

Whispers were heard, but weren't made out.

"The girl from the sort of prophecy?"

Prophecy? This is juicy.

I gave everyone a look, and they either looked guilty or shrugged.

"Yes." Charlie said. "She's here. In the city."

Charlie must've motioned for Jake to come, because he started to walk forward.

But before he could, someone spoke. "You're kidding me, right."

"No!" Charlie said. "I'm—"

"With all due respect." A bigger voice rang out. "We don't have time for your shenanigans. We have some important decisions to attend to."

Are they kidding?

"I'm not lying though!" Charlie's voice raised a little bit.

"Please leave now," Someone warned. "Or we will use force."

What jerks!

Charlie walked out with an angry and confused expression. "I can't believe they didn't believe me."

"Who needs them." Jake said as the doors started to shut.

"Yeah, we'll figure something out!" Gordon said, being optimistic.

"But how?" Jon asked.

As they talked and headed toward the elevators, I looked at the doors. They were almost shut.

"Okay that's it." I said to myself.

I ran over to the doors, and slipped inside just as they shut.

YAAAASSSS. Carry on.

"Hey!" I yelled. Then, I actually looked around. "Woah..."

This is a freaking massive room. It was Quartz walls, obviously, with a glass dome. Pillars were around the outside to look fancier, and walls were made with designs. There were stands on the left and right walls, filled with maybe a 100 people each. In front was a lifted stand with 10 people sitting down. They must've been the main council.

From left to right, there was a guy in a blue and red shirt, a guy in a red hoodie, a guy in a blue hoodie, a lava creeper in a suit, a guy with a ponytail and sunglasses in a cool suit, a guy in a white shirt with a headset on, a guy in a red and black checkered hoodie, a furry man in a suit, another man in a suit with sunglasses and a beard, and a guy with a white shirt, black jacket, and red sunglasses on.

And very last one of them was looking at me with a startled expression. I suddenly developed a fear of stage fright.

"Wha..." The furry guy said.

"Ummm..." The lava mob raised an imaginary eyebrow.

"Hi..." I weakly waved my hand.

"Who..." The guy in the blue hoodie tried to say.

A second passed. Two. Three.

I took a deep breath and stood tall. "My name is Katherine. Kat. I am the supposed girl in the prophecy."
