Chapter 18: MEETING
"About...?" Infinity asked.
"You know we can't talk about who you were." Jake said.
"But why not?" I whined.
"Because we are trying to make this story interesting for the readers." Jake turned toward you. "Like you."
"Jake!" Abby yelled. "You can't break the fourth wall!"
"Yeah." A female voice said from above. The author. "It's confusing."
"Can we just get to the real story?" I pleaded.
"Yes." The author's voice said, and time was reversed to when Infinity asked Kat what she wanted to talk about.

"About...?" Infinity asked.
"You know we can't talk about who you were." Jake said.
"But why not?" I whined.
"Just because that's how things are." He responded.
"Okay, I promise. I won't ask about who I was, or who I am." I promised. Now, will you answer my questions?"
Jake thought for a bit. "Yes."
"Okay. First question." I pointed to Infinity. "Why is she called Lone Shadow?"
Infinity spoke. "Before you got here, I was kind of a loner. Didn't talk much to people, Link was one of my only friends."
"What made you open up?"
"You." She smirked. "You came, and I knew something interesting was happening."
"Cool. Okay next question. How did you make this base?"
Jake sighed. "Well, long story short, I sent an application to the council of Notch City, and they accepted. Then, people started coming after I had advertisements in the city, like posters and such."
"Easy enough." I nodded. "What made you want to start one?"
Jake just barely glanced at Infinity. "Um... This area was pretty clear of bases, and we need units everywhere. So I took up the job."
I could tell that he was telling only a partial truth, but I didn't want to push. He still looked exhausted.
"Okay, this question goes to you guys." I looked at Abby and Gordon.
"Us?" Abby gasped, putting a hand on her chest.
"Yay, we're important!" Gordon grinned.
"Why aren't you two dating?" I asked, trying to contain a smile. Link burst out laughing.
"I know right?!" Gordon put his hands up. "She won't say yes!"
"Next question." Abby sighed.
I grinned, and everyone started laughing. It felt good. Like nothing was happening. Like there was no war. Like we weren't just attacked.
My smile faded. "Tell me about the war."
Tension filled the room.
"Kat..." Jake said quietly. "Not really much we can tell you."
"It's because I am the cause." I interpreted. "Isn't it?"
"Not exactly the cause." Abby said. "Just like, a game changer."
"Okay. Well, can you tell me what you can without spoiling anything?" I asked.
"Okay. I'll try." Jake closed his eyes. "So, Notch and Herobrine are brothers...-"
"Seriously?" I asked, and he nodded. "Dude, that's freaky. They look nothing alike. But all of this is like a family issue?"
"More or less. We don't know the actual reason why it started. We guessed it was just basic 'good vs evil' stuff. Notch disappeared maybe a decade and a half ago, leaving us, the minecraftians, to fight. But it isn't against our will, or anything. We are willing to rid this world of Herobrine and bring order."
"But not the mobs." I assumed. "Right?"
"Right." He agreed. "Herobrine and the mutant mobs have to go, but the regular ones can stay. They could be brainwashed, for all we know."
"Right."
"Right." Infinity said.
"Right." Link, Abby and Gordon said, and we all laughed.
"So, is this meeting adjourned?" Link asked.
"One more question." I took a deep breath. "What are we going to do next?"
"In the war?" Jake asked. I nodded.
He sucked in air through his gritted teeth. "Well, we wait."
"Wait?"
"Not much we can do, except just wait. Train, get supplies, and wait."
"That's dumb." I sat back. "Why can't we take action?"
"As in...?" Gordon asked.
"Well. Aren't there important people in the Capitol?"
"Yeah...?" Jake said.
"And I'm important, right?"
Infinity smirked. "Well you think highly of yourself. But yeah, pretty much."
"So what if you bring me to the important people, and something happens."
"Possibly an explosion." Gordon nodded. "Go on."
"Well, I don't think it works like that. But maybe you are onto something." Jake said, thoughtfully.
"So I'm going to the Capitol?!" I asked, excited.
"I think," Jake said slowly, with a smile. "We are all going to the Capitol."

This feels like it's going too fast ;-; but we are like, maybe 2/3 through the story. Little more than halfway. But I planned on a sequel, and something after that, that I AM SO EXCITED FOR
*SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
*ahem* I apologize.
