31- The Hunger Games Part 1
My little poster. Could've used more blood. Oh welp.
OKAY so this chapter is longer, and was complicated to write. I love everyone, but everyone had to die.
So don't think I have anything against the deaths. I would have had everyone live, but that's boring.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN. AND MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR. And enjoy. Vote.

Another cannon rang out in the sky. Another virtual death. I really want to know the other 2 that died.
"Come on." Jake said. He seemed a bit less rushed, as we got further away.
Outside the coliseum was beautiful. There was a small ring of plains around the building, our side maybe 20 blocks wide. Next was some hills, and trees. We were in a giant glass dome, surrounding us like a bowl. At the edges, the terrain curled up into mountains.
We were running out near a bridge, going over a stream. The bridge led to a path that led to a small village. But it wasn't an ordinary village. I could see stalls, like a market. There was also a few village houses, and a giant place.
"Find chests." Jake said. "Get loot."
"Don't tell me what to do." I said as he let go of my wrist. "Now I'm going to find chests to get loot."
I heard Jake chuckle as I went over to the bridge. I crossed over and saw a chest in the fountain near the town. Running over, I jumped into the fountain and opened the chest. Finally a weapon! Okay, so it was only a wood axe, but it was still a weapon. There was also chain pants, 4 arrows, and a cooked fish. Or vile creature, as Jerome said before.
I put on the pants, and the boots I got at the center.
Another cannon.
I jerked over to see if Jake was okay. He was looking through a chest in the grass.
I sighed and waded out of the fountain.
"Imma go to the market!" I yelled as softly as I could to Jake.
He ran over to accompany me. "Wait fer me."
I looked toward the stalls, and gasped. "OH MY NOTCH!"

~ Skye's POV ~
It wasn't my fault. I blame it on Jona.
We automatically teamed up. It was like a thought bubble in our heads to go straight behind us. We were right next to each other, so it was quite easy to stick together.
When the noise rang, and everyone ran toward the center, we immediately turned behind and ran through a tunnel.
Soon, we were outside, near a small forest. There were chests everywhere. I needed to get a weapon.
While I was running, I noticed something different with the ground.
"Clever." I grunted as I broke the hidden leaves in the ground, revealing a chest. I opened it, but only got a chain chestplate, cooked steak, a few arrows (I'm a crappy archer), and two bowls.
"Have a bowl." I chucked one at Jon.
"Thanks." He rolled his eyes and went to another chest.
I jogged up a bit and opened another chest. A wood sword. Yes.
I swung it a little, and got out the gold ingot and 2 steak.
"Got a weapon?" I asked Jon.
"Gotta axe." He swung a wood axe. He then put on an iron helmet.
"Do you think time changes here?" I squinted at the sky.
"Quickly." Jon nodded. "Quicker than normal."
"Mobs?"
"Doubt it."
"Would be more of a change." I sighed. "Oh well. Let's go kill someone."
"You and your killing." Jon shook his head.
"It's the Hunger Games." I said, obviously. "Plus I like to stab things."
"Bot." Jon said, emotionless.
I turned and saw a bot running toward us with an iron chestplate, leather leggings, and stone sword. It's skin was designed like a rainbow with a derp face, so I almost laughed.
I twirled my sword and waited for it. It swung at me, almost slicing my stomach. Jon tried to slice down on him, but he moved out of the way. Jon wasn't much of a good fighter, as he was slow. Nevertheless, he kicked it in the chest immediately after it moved, as if knowing it would move to that spot.
I slashed diagonal, but it blocked it. As our swords were crossed, I narrowed my eyes. These must've been on hard mode. Yet Preston and Mitch killed them so easily at the cornucopia. This game was going to be more difficult than I thought.
~ Jon's POV~
It wasn't my fault. I blame it on Skye.
Skye's sword was crossed with the bot, who I named Derpy. I felt like I should come in, but I needed to analyze the situation. I was always good at knowing body movements.
Knowing Skye, he's going to jut out his elbow toward Derpy's shoulder, catching him off balance. The bot would move back to stay away from his sword blade. If I was quick enough, I could run and slice Derpy as soon as he stepped back. Okay, it's time.
Just like I said, Skye jutted out his elbow. I ran forward. The bot was hit, and jumped back just as Skye's sword stabbed where he was a second ago. I came behind Derpy and sliced his back. That must've dazed his controls, because he turned to me, ignoring the guy behind him. A sword blade poked through the bot's stomach, and it disintegrated, leaving the iron chestplate, stone sword, leather leggings, and some food.
"Nice." Skye grinned.
I smiled vaguely back at him. Then, I looked at the stuff on the ground. "I'll take the chestplate and pants, you can have my helmet so our armor seems the same, and you can have the sword."
"You can get my sword." Skye tossed the wood sword at me.
As we split our loot, a crack was heard. An arrow plunged into Skye's shoulder.
"Crap!" Skye winced. "That feels so freaking weird!"
"Are you okay?" I said quickly, just to be nice. Then, I turned to where the arrow was shot.
"OOLOOLOOLOO!"
Vikk and Lachlan jumped out of the forest, both with stone swords.
"Get Jo!" Vikk yelled.
"It's Jon!" I shouted back.
Skye pulled the arrow out, and ran forward with me.
We collided and fought. Their strategy was to split us up, but we stuck back to back to keep together.
I versed Lachlan, as Vikk and Skye were a better match for each other. But Lachlan was still better than me, in skills and because he had a better weapon.
He swung at my feet, and I jumped. I dragged my sword downward, and he moved to the side, as I suspected. I quickly made my movement into an arch, and cut into his hip. He winced.
"Duck!" Skye said.
I immediately ducked, not caring why.
Skye chucked his sword at Lachlan. Lachlan moved out of the way, but then something weird happened. He glitched back to where he was, and Skye's sword sank into his chest.
"Stupid ping!" Lachlan shouted and disintegrated. A cannon went off.
Another cannon went off right after that. I turned to grin at Skye, but my look faded into horror and disappointment. Vikk was standing over Skye's items on the ground. He must've got him when he turned.
Vikk grinned at me and swung his sword. I automatically moved my sword to block, but he knocked it out of my hand and slashed my chest. Holy Notch, that did feel creepy!
I turned to run. I made it 10 blocks before I heard a snap and an arrow shot through my chest.
~ 3rd Person POV ~
Jon jumped in his seat. He quickly pulled off his helmet and looked around.
Abby, Charlie, and Lydia were on the couches, watching the screen. Abby looked at Jon, gave him a pity look, and mouthed "bummer". Ian was also sitting down, along with Lachlan.
"Mitch got me at the cornucopia." Ian sighed.
"Why do I always get the laggiest helmet." Lachlan muttered.
Jon looked around for Skye. He turned 90 degrees and saw him glaring at Jon in the seat next to him.
"It's all your fault." They said to each other at the same time.
~ Kat's POV ~
"OH MY NOTCH!" I shouted.
"Shhhh!!!" Jake whisper-yelled. "What is it?!"
"CAKE!" I shouted again.
Jake sighed.
I ran over to the stall that had a bunch of cakes. "It's so beautiful..."
"Are you kidding me?" Jake walked toward me.
"I think I'm gonna cry." I wiped a fake tear.
Jake face-palmed. "We just ate."
"Doesn't matter when it comes to cake."
"How can you even taste in this simulator?"
"I'll manage."
A cannon went off. Then another. A few seconds later, a final cannon went off.
"T-t-t-t-triple kill." I said in a deep voice.
"Wait." Jake said suddenly.
"What?" I asked.
"You're gonna die."
"Thanks."
"You're gonna die if you don't move now."
"K."
"Kat!" Jake jerked me toward him as an arrow flew by.
"Oh." I looked toward the bot hiding behind a building with a bow in his hands.
Jake braced his axe. "Do you wanna take him, should I, or both?"
"You can." I climbed inside the stall. "I'll protect the cakes."
Jake rolled his eyes and ran toward the bot.
Okay, so maybe it was a little rude to leave him on his own...? But I knew he got it. Or so I thought.
He engaged with the bot. It had a wood sword, and he had a stone axe. So it seemed pretty even.
Jake used his strategies. He always caught the bot's sword between his ace blade and handle, making it hard to remove. He also sliced mostly, instead of stabbed, for the axe could cut through the air easily. It's actually a good weapon.
But his strategy was turned against him. When he caught the bot's blade, the bot turned it, so it locked Jake in place.
"Little help!" Jake yelled, trying to pry it free.
I jumped out, and charged forward, shouting, "FOR THE CAKES!"
I sliced down on the bot with my wood axe. Since it was the worse weapon, it didn't do much. The bot stumbled back, and I ran forward and sliced again. Finally, I could see I was doing damage. I made another swing, and the bot raised his sword to deflect it. But when I came down, my axe literally broke on his sword. It snapped in half, and disappeared. Really?!
I looked at the bot, it looking back at me. "Huh. Wouldja look at that."
The bot raised its sword, and Jake appeared, blocking it.
"Stand back." Jake said.
"I'll stand back." I took a couple steps back.
But the bot wasn't finished. He went right past Jake and to me. He tried to stab me, but I moved out of the way. Knowing that I couldn't do a lot of damage, I punched his gut, and kicked him right into Jake.
Jake finished him off, the bot disintegrating.
"Well that was fun." I huffed.
"Yep." Jake exhaled. "Here, you can have my axe."
We went through the loot. I got a stone axe and bow as weapons. Jake got a wood sword.
"What?" I picked up snowballs. "What do these do?"
Jake shrugged.
I threw one at him. It hit him in the face. He wiped it off with a sour look. "That's... not... funny..." He said slowly.
"Why are you talking so weird?" I laughed.
"I'm... so... slow..." He said as he tried to move.
"So it's a slowball?" I raised my eyebrows.
He glared at me.
"Haha. Punny." I grinned.
