Our first chapter

This was war! Now by a War, I don't just mean a petty argument or a little disagreement, this was an actual war! With swords, soldiers, archers and above all; death! So there I was, fighting for my life with nothing but a blunt sword.

WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! Let's rewind it a little bit.

Long ago during an era lost in the infinite pages of history, the world was a place of destruction, war and chaos. It was a world of horror and ruin and let alone nothing but terror. A shadow of merciless tragedy had reigned across the world. Hope was lost for all. All but five. Five friends, who would give so much to bring upon a new era. An era of peace and harmony. Despite their differences, they were determined to join forces and bring about this time of glory. They called themselves The Order of The Griffin.

There was Sheera Eladove, the elven sorceress. Who's magic would spark beauty and justice into the hearts of men. Her intelligence and wisdom spoke reason upon all enemies. Then there was Bayard IronBack, the dwarf warrior. His bravery and courage had inspired many to fight against the evil. He would never run from a fight even if all odds were against him. Clovelia, the healer. Clovelia was a dryad, a forest nymph who would help all who stumbled within her domain. She joined forces with Sheera, Bayard and Henry Walter, the leader of their triumphant group. Henry was humble and compassionate and would always help those in need. And then we have our final member of the group, Cassyon UnderFoot. Cassyon was a halfling or a hobbit if you will. He was unlike all the other four members of The Order of The Griffin. While the other four had titles like Sheera the Intelligent, Bayard the Brave, Clovelia the Kind and Henry the humble, Cassyon went by another name. Cassyon the Seeker.

Together these five heroes achieved many great things, but what really made them legends was how they achieved peace. The five of them devised a system that they thought would permanently restore peace. They divided the land into 'realms'. They said that anywhere beyond the realms was unsafe and therefore, forbidden. However unlike the other four, Cassyon the Seeker disagreed with these terms and traveled far far beyond the other four realms. Far into the forbidden land where he was never seen again. Some say he died, some say he lost his mind as he ventured through the forbidden land, some say he found eternal life, power and glory but really nobody knows because no one followed him.

Anyway that was a very very VERY long time ago and I'd consider myself as much more different hobbit compared to the Great Cassyon. Unlike him, I live a much more quiet life, a cosy comfortable life in my nice little hobbit hole. I love absolutely everything about my home. I love the cosiness, the warmth, my desk, my kitchen and cellar but above all the other wonderful things in my home, I love my book shelves. Unlike most hobbit holes, that have ordinary wooden walls, my walls are made up entirely of book shelves filled from top to bottom with bright colourful books each with a completely unique spine. KNOCK! KNOCK!
"Who could that be?" I say to myself. I slowly stroll toward my big round door running my fingers against the book's spines. KNOCK! KNOCK! Comes the pounding noise from my door again.

"Yes! I'm Coming! I'm coming!" I said as I quickened my pace toward the door. Once I reached the door, I opened it immediately. No one was there. All I could see was a young man around 19 in a black cloak walking down the gravel road.
"Hey!" I exclaim. Immediately, he turns around swishing his cloak behind him. He speed walks back up my front yard.
"I thought no one was home" he says towering over me. He wasn't a hobbit, but he didn't seem human either.
"I'm sorry, who are you?" I ask with a confused expression on my face.
"Oh! Of course! I haven't introduced myself! My name is Jason Okas' but you can just call me Jay! You wouldn't happen to be Louis Caruana, would you?" He says.
"Uh... yeah, I'm Louis" I reply.
"Oh good, I didn't want to come all this way for nothing" says Jay.
"Forgive me for being rude but, why are you here?" I ask.

"Your Grandfather sent me" he replies.
"My grandfather? I-I thought he was dead" I say.
"DEAD!? Oh Goodness gracious No! Your Grandfather is alive as alive can be!" Exclaimed Jay.
"Why did my Grandfather send you? Where is he?" I ask.
"That's why he sent me you see. He wants me to take you to him" he says.
"Wow! That's great!" I say.
"Are you hobbits having a feast or something? It smells like something's cooking" he says.
"It smells like smoke" I reply.
"It smells like... fire" replies Jay.

Jay and I turn around and see that half the hobbit village is on fire! The fiery inferno engulfs the village setting crops and fields ablaze. I widen my eyes in terror. I hear what sounds like a mob of angry hobbits. I see someone running away from the mob. He's fairly tall. I don't think he's a hobbit, he seems human sized. However unlike a human his hands and hair are ablaze. As he runs from the mob he yells,
"Guys! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to burn down your village! It was an accident! I swear!" He yells. He continues running from the hobbits. From where I'm standing, it actually looks pretty funny. He's running from people half his size.

Jay runs through my front yard and down the gravel road.
"Follow me! Come on! We need to do something!" Says Jay.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
