Rachel Pov

I woke up feeling a very strong pain in my head, my whole body seemed to throb, I looked around and the sunlight started to bother me, I tried to get up and it was the worst decision I made, my back was taken by an unbearable pain, I scream because of it and then I tried to get up again but this time more calmly, I managed to sit up, I looked around and from the decoration I deduced that I was in a hospital room suddenly everything came back to me, the fight between Artie and Brittany me holding Santana, the accident the screams of my friends and the darkness. My headache after remembering everything only got worse, but I realized it was very quiet, too quiet. I looked to the side of the bed and saw an IV that was connected to my arm and to the side a bunch of flowers, only the flowers were already dry and dead.

I tried to get up to go to the window, another bad decision as I ended up falling to the floor taking the vase of flowers with me, a noise filled the room and once again I mentally cursed myself for trying to do everything in a rush. I tried to get up again, managed to get to the window, but what I looked at made me terrified.

There was a person on the floor with her organs, she was screaming while another person was on top of her eating everything she could from her body, but it wasn't an ordinary person, her skin was all shitty, she was making a strange noise her clothes were torn and her eyes they were all white, I was desperate, what the fuck was that, oh my god, I fell sitting on the floor with my back to the window, trying to think of what to do, I decided on the stupidest idea I had, I decided to get up and go to the door I turned the knob slowly so that no one could hear, when I went out into the hallway, it was dark, there were words written on the doors like DON'T OPEN or RUN and once again I came across the sight of a person on the floor with their organs out, that's disgusting, I think that I'm going to throw up.

I decided that I had to get out of the hospital first and then look for help, I kept walking until I reached the back door, I was limping so I couldn't walk at a fast pace which made my plan to get out of here alive very difficult, I finally managed to get ahead the door but when I was about to step out I ended up stepping on a shard of glass, I felt like screaming but, I knew it was better to be quiet to not to bring more trouble, when I finally recovered from the pain, I opened the door again and stepped outside, I couldn't believe what I saw.

Several dead people on the floor covered by a cloth, there must have been at least 100 corpses there, again the urge to vomit hit but again I had to hold on.

I managed to get out through one of the holes in the bars and continued to walk straight until I stopped at a hill that was nearby, I decided to climb it and when I got to the top one of these creatures came at me but this one was different, it had the yellowish skin, ribs showing, no legs using his arms as a way to move, I tried to run away but the pain in my back and legs prevented me from doing that, so I decided to keep going, I went down the hill and came across a condominium of houses, maybe I can get help from someone around there?

I decided to take a risk and went ahead, I started looking for signs of people there, but I didn't find anyone, I continued a little longer and I came across one of those things but this one had legs and everything but it continued to be ugly and disgusting, finally that thing started to come towards me but faster than the last one, I didn't know what to do, I couldn't run because of the pain, I had nothing to protect me, but when that thing came close, he was shot in the head and fall lifeless on the ground.

- Are you okay? He didn't bite you right? - I heard a voice beside me I turned and I was faced with a girl with light brown hair, blue eyes and flashy, she was beautiful I didn't know what to say and suddenly Quinn came to my head, god where's Quinn, where's my parents, my friends the glee people, I was so apprehensive with my thoughts that I didn't even notice that the girl had approached - Hey, are you alright? What's your name? Why are you dressed like that?

- I just woke up in the hospital, what's going on? - I started to answer her questions and as I was talking she got more and more wide eyed - Where is my family? My friends? Tell me why that man tried to attack me?

- Look, let's go bit by bit. First my name is Marley Rose, second you look hurt. What do you think about coming with me? I'll take care of you and then I'll explain to you what's going on - she said finally lowering her gun and coming even closer to me - So let's go?

- Sorry I don't really understand anything. My name is Rachel Berry and yes I will accept your offer and thank you - she gave me a look as if she understood what I was going through and led me to one of the houses in the condominium.

As soon as we entered the house she took me upstairs and took me to the bathroom, opened some drawers and got some bandages and medicine, brought me downstairs again, sat at the dining table and she sat in front of me started to pick up the bandages and looked at me for a while until she spoke.

- Take off that nightgown - my eyes widened and started to get tense, I think she realized I was like that because right away she said - Don't worry it's not for any sexual reason, I just want to take care of your bruises and I'll also get some clothes for you to wear.-I visibly relaxed and got up, as soon as I did that I started taking off my hospital clothes.

- Wow- she spoke and then blushed furiously and looked at me with an apologetic look - I'm sorry you're really beautiful - she says blushing a little more, but then starts to take care of my bruises.

- No problem Marley is nice to receive a compliment at least it wasn't from a disgusting and chubby man wanting to get laid - I said making a disgusted face and she ended up letting out a low laugh as if agreeing with me -But tell me what is happening? Why is everything so deserted? And what are these creatures out there? - I asked and she looked down.

- Well Rachel, those things out there are what you can call walkers, they are people who died and came back to life and eat human beings - with every word that was spoken I was more and more terrified - It all started two months ago when a laboratory exploded and in it they were testing a bunch of products and medicines to make people come back to life, but without the part of them wanting to kill everyone, and when the place exploded the experiment was left unfinished, the people inside started to turn into walkers and kill every living thing they saw and when you get bitten you or scratch you become one of them, and the only way to kill them is to hit in the brain like you saw me doing.

I had no words to describe what I was feeling as she spoke. I felt my heart tighten, tears welled up in my eyes and I fell into my chair.

- But there is no cure? Is it all over - With each question I asked she nodded and more despair took over me - My god, what about my parents, friends, and my girlfriend? I have to find them- I tried to get up but she pulled me back to the chair and held me there.

- Look calm, I'm only here temporarily, I just came here to pick up supplies and ammo that was running out, but then I'm going to Texas to try to find someplace that's more abandoned and isolated and try to survive there, you can come with, and maybe we will find your friends and family along the way? But of course, we have to wait for you to heal- she said, releasing me and finishing putting on some bandages - That's it, I'm done, now I'm going to get you some clothes and then we're going to eat.

- Thanks again and yes and I'm going with you to Texas, I'm not sure what's going on and I don't think it's a good idea for me to walk around alone.

- No problem, after dinner I have to explain a few things about the walkers to you - she said that and went upstairs to get my clothes. Within a few minutes Marley was back and was bringing with her a set that according to her would maybe serve me - I'll get the food while you go change ok? - I nodded and started to get dressed, she gave me a pair of ripped black jeans with a red tank top, and a leather jacket, along with was a pair of shoes, she also brought other sets, but I think these are for the next few days, the clothes also had, 2 white, 3 black and 1 blue tank tops and blue and black denim shorts, there was a blouse that was red and black checkered that I loved .

- We started to eat and at that time I told her what I remembered about the accident that had happened to me and how I ended up here, she told me that she had just turned 17 when this madness started, which happens to be the same age as I am, she also told me about how she lost her family and ex-girlfriend and now lived alone, I told her about my friends, family, and about Quinn, wow it was very easy to talk to this girl, I'm glad I have her while I can't find the others, and then the topic of walkers came back and the conversation became a little more tense.

- So Rach tell me do you know how to shoot or handle a weapon? - Asked me, seeming interested in my skills.

- Good with firearms only a few, when I turned 15 my father took me to a place and taught me how to shoot, after that I started going there every month, but when my mother found out she was a real beast...haha- she joined me in laughter and was looking at me as if she'd known me for years and I I kind of felt that with her too- But there's a weapon I just fell in love with, which is the Crossbow, I mean I've always had good aim and loved archery since I was little so it was easy for me to know how to handle it very well.

- You know I think I have one of these here, maybe you can take a look to see if you like it - she said getting up and going towards one of the backpacks that was there, from there she took the gun I had said - Oh here take it, then see if you can use it, maybe it will become your signature - she said and I giggled, took the gun in my hands, it really was in an excellent condition, I pointed to a can that was on the other side of the room and fired, hitting the can in the middle- Wow you're really good, but even so I'll give you this gun here you never know when you'll need it.

After that we were talking in the living room, she began to explain to me how walkers are attracted to noise and how at night it is much more dangerous to walk in the street, she also said how she would like to find a group of survivors that she could live with in peace and after some more time talking we went to sleep.
