Chapter 5
*Isabella's P.O.V*
I sat in history class, watching the clock tick. Only thirty seconds left of year eight, and then I had six weeks of relaxing, six weeks of no homework, six weeks of freedom.
"Five, four, three, two, one... Finally!" I breathed when the bell eventually rang. Everyone started packing up their things, eager to start the summer.
"Honestly, those last few minutes of class felt like they lasted forever." Harvey said as we walked out of the classroom.
"Tell me about it." Max said as I nodded in agreement. We went to our lockers to make sure we had everything, before walking out of school. We walked to the bus stop as usual and got the bus home.
"We still on for tonight?" I asked my two best friends. To celebrate the end of the school year, Max and Harvey are sleeping over. We'd been planning it for weeks and I was beyond excited.
"Yep." Max chirped.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world." Harvey grinned. I giggled, trying not to blush.
"I'll see you two later, then." I smiled. We said goodbye to each other for the time being and I went into my house while they went into theirs. "I'm home!" I called as I walked in.
"Hey, darling. How was school?" Mum asked as she walked into the hall from the living room.
"It was fine, but I'm glad I don't have to go back for the next six weeks." I beamed.
"I'm sure you are." She chuckled.
"Did you get the stuff for tonight?" I asked hopefully. I'd asked if she could buy some more sweets and things for the sleepover.
"Yep, they're in the kitchen, ready for when the boys arrive." She said.
"Thanks." I smiled as Dad came down the stairs.
"Ah, yes. I think we need to lay down some ground rules for tonight." He stated.
"Dad!" I groaned.
"Let her be, Jonathan." Mum said.
"Let me just say this." He began, "You're not allowed to play any games that could lead to you and either of those boys getting too close. So, you will not be playing anything like Spin the Bottle or Seven Minutes in Heaven or-"
"We weren't planning on playing any of those games anyway. We're just going to watch movies and eat junk food for most of the night." I assured my overprotective father.
"I'm not finished." He held out his hand making me roll my eyes, "You will also not be allowed to share the bed with them. You can sit on the bed, but no going under the covers, and I will be checking in frequently to make sure no funny business is going on." He continued.
"Okay, fine, can I get on with the rest of my day now?" I asked with attitude.
"Yes you may." He nodded.
"Why thank you." I said sarcastically, before running upstairs to my room. I quickly changed out of my school uniform, into a blue crop top with the words 'Born To Be A Unicorn' written in thin, white letters, a pair of black leggings with large, white crosses all over and a pair of galaxy ankle socks with a cat holding a pizza and a taco printed on. I threw my hair into a messy ponytail and slipped on my set of Alice In Wonderland bracelets. I wanted to wear something comfy as I didn't plan on going anywhere else today, but I also didn't want look like a slob to Max and Harvey.
I didn't really know what to do with myself until Max and Harvey arrived, so I decided to pick up my vlogging camera.
"It's finally summer!" I beamed into the lens, "Max and Harvey are coming over for a sleepover in a couple hours, which I'm super excited about. We've been planning it for weeks. We're going to watch a bunch of movies and eat junk food and just be idiots as usual and overall, it's just going to be a lot of fun." I didn't vlog for very long as I couldn't think of much to say, so I soon put my camera down and went on my laptop. I watched YouTube for about an hour, before finally there was a knock on the door. "I'll get it!" I yelled excitedly, running down the stairs. I opened the front door to see Max and Harvey and... Hailee?
"Hey, Bells." Max smiled.
"Um, hi. Come in." I said awkwardly. They all walked in and I pulled Harvey aside, before harshly whispering, "What's Hailee doing here?!"
"Max invited her. I tried to tell him that he should check with you first, but he thought you'd be cool with it." He explained. I sighed. Ever since they were paired up in PE a couple weeks ago, Max has been spending a lot more time with her. I'm pretty sure he likes her, but personally, I don't trust her. I mean, how do we know she's not just using him because he's Musical.ly famous? I would've asked her to leave when I saw that Max had bought her along but honestly, I'm too nice to do that. We all went into the living room, where Mum and Dad were, so I could tell them that there would be one extra person staying the night.
"That's absolutely fine." Dad said.
"It's nice to meet you, sweetie." Mum smiled at Hailee.
"Thanks, it's nice to meet you too. I love your vlogs." She said. Okay, now I'm almost certain she's just using Max.
"Shall we go upstairs, then?" I suggested and everyone agreed, so me, Harvey, Max and unfortunately, Hailee went up to my room.
"Iz, you're okay with Hailee being here, aren't you?" Max asked me.
"Yeah. I mean, it was supposed to be just us three, but it's fine..." I said. I might have been a little passive aggressive there...
"Well, yeah, I know, but one more person doesn't really make a difference, does it?" He asked.
"No, I guess not." I said with a fake smile.
"Um, me and Max bought some movies." Harvey piped up, before ushering me to follow him over to his backpack. I did as I was told as he pulled out a bunch of horror movies.
"Really?" I whined, "I hate scary movies, you guys know that."
"Well, duh. Why else do you think we bought them over?" Max piped up, causing me to glare at him. My glare shifted over to Hailee before I looked back at Harvey, although I wasn't glaring at Hailee for the same reason I was glaring at Max.
"Can't we just watch Disney movies?" I pleaded.
"How about we take it in turns? We'll watch a scary movie, then a Disney one, and so on?" Harvey suggested.
"But-"
"Or are you too chicken?" He teased.
"No, of course not, that sounds like a great idea." I said, even though deep down I was terrified about the scary movies, "I guess I'll go get the snacks then; I'll be right back." I announced, before dashing downstairs. I grabbed all the snacks and put them in a bag, before taking the bag back upstairs. We had a variety of Walkers crisps, Wotsits, marshmallows, Mars bars, Snickers, Twix, Starbursts and of course, loads of Cadbury's chocolate.
"Okay, everyone ready?" Harvey asked as he put the first horror film in.
"No." I whined, grabbed one of my pillows and hugging it. We were all sat on my bed; I was sat at the end, Harvey was next to me, Max was next to Harvey and Hailee was next to Max, at the other end of my bed. Not even five minutes into the movie, I ended up clinging on to Harvey's arm, waiting for something scary to happen and when something did happen, I hid my face in Harvey's shoulder without even thinking about it.
*Harvey's P.O.V*
Forcing Isabella to watch a horror film was probably one of the best decisions I'd ever made. I couldn't even focus on the film properly, all I could think about was the butterflies that swarmed my stomach every time she got scared and hid her face in my shoulder. It was so cute, but at the same time, I felt pretty bad as it was my fault she was so frightened.
"Bells, we can watch something else if you really don't like it." I said softly, although I couldn't help but chuckle at her.
"No, no, I'm going to prove to you that I'm not a chicken. I'm going to watch this film and all the others that you bought all the way through." She proclaimed, before another jump scare made her squeal and bury her face in my shoulder once again.
"You sure about that?" I asked, rather amused.
"Yes!" She yelled, her voice muffled as she hadn't lifted her head yet. I just laughed at her.
*Isabella's P.O.V*
A few hours later, we'd been through all the horror films. Thank the lord! Even though we watched some of my favourite Disney movies in between, like The Lion King, Beauty and The Beast, The Little Mermaid and Hercules, it was still a nightmare and every scene from the horror films would most likely haunt me for the rest of my life. It was now around midnight and we decided to get ready for bed.
"Shoot! I left my pyjamas at home!" Max suddenly yelled out.
"Max, you idiot." Harvey muttered under his breath, making me giggle.
"Wait, don't you guys live right next door? Why don't you just go and grab some?" Hailee suggested. See, she even knows where they live! She's definitely a crazed fan, just using Max so she can stalk him up close!
"That's just what I was about to suggest..." Max trailed off.
"Yeah, sure you were, Maxie." I snorted, causing Max to glare playfully at me.
"Harvey, come with me, will you?" Max asked.
"Okay." Harvey agreed.
"Wait, no, guys! Don't leave me with-" I was cut off when Harvey shut my bedroom door and they were both on their way to their house. Hailee and I just sat on either ends of my bed in awkward silence for a good five minutes, me sending her a small glare every now and then.
"I'm starting to get the feeling you don't like me very much." Hailee finally broke the silence.
"Why would you say that?" I asked with an obviously fake smile.
"Well, you've been glaring at me whenever I do anything. I'm pretty sure you even gave me a dirty look for sneezing." In my defence, she started having a sneezing fit during my favourite part of Hercules!
"I don't know what you're talking about." I shrugged, looking away from her.
"Listen, I get it." She stated. I slowly turned to look at her.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I understand why you're being so wary of me. I know how hard it must be for you to trust people, constantly being afraid of people using you for your internet fame, but I promise you, I'm not using you or Max or Harvey." She said.
"How do I know you're not just saying that?" I questioned, narrowing my eyes at her.
"You don't, really. All you can do is give me a chance and let me prove to you that I'm not just using you and that I actually want to be your friend, because you seem like a genuinely awesome person. That's all I ask for; a chance to prove myself." She pleaded, "Please?"
"Fine." I sighed after thinking it over, "But if I get the slightest feeling, then you leave me and the boys alone."
"You got it." She smiled, before it turned into a smirk, "So, you and Harvey, huh?"
"Shut up, there's nothing going on." I looked down to try and hide the smile and blush on my face.
"Oh, yeah, I could see that from the way you were all cuddled up to him during the movies." She teased.
"And what about you and Max?" Now it was my turn to smirk, "You two have been getting pretty friendly over the last week or so."
"Okay, so I might like him a little bit, but please don't tell anyone." She begged, blushing a little.
"I won't, as long as you return the favour." I said.
"So you do like Harvey!" She yelled excitedly.
"Maybe, but shut up about it!" I giggled, making her laugh as well. The boys soon came back with Max's pyjamas and we all changed. The boys changed in my bathroom while Hailee and I changed in my room. I wore my Little Mermaid pyjamas which were a white tank top with a picture of Ariel and the words 'I'm Really A Mermaid' in thin blue writing, and green shorts with purple scales and a purple bow. Once I was done changing, I turned around to see that Hailee was wearing Beauty and the Beast pyjamas which were a white tank top with Belle and Beast on the front and the words 'I Love My Beast' in bold, black writing, and blue shorts with a yellow bow. "Nice pyjamas." I smirked.
"Right back at you, fellow Disney enthusiast." Hailee giggled.
Max and Harvey soon came out from my bathroom and we all got into bed. Well, I got into bed, while Max, Harvey and Hailee were going to sleep on the mattresses that we'd laid out on the floor. We talked and messed around until probably about 5 am, I'm not even joking. Other than being extremely tired the next day, it was a pretty awesome night, especially as I gained a new friend.
A/N: Hey, my lovelies 😘 I just want to give a shoutout to one of my best friends, AWriterCalledJessxx, because that's who Hailee is based on. Jess has been there for me since early this year and I honestly don't know what I'd do without her. Love you bitch 🙊🙈💕💘😂💖
