A/N: Just a heads up guys, I've changed Elexa's name to Isabella. I know this may come as a surprise but I'll explain why at the end of the chapter x

*Isabella's P.O.V*

I woke up with a pounding headache and realised I was lying on the bed in the nurse's office. Groaning, I sat up, bringing a head up to cradle my pounding head. As I sat up, Miss Lawson, the school nurse walked in.

"Oh good, you're awake," She smiled warmly at me, "How are you feeling?"

"Not great." I answered truthfully.

"Do you remember what happened?" She asked me and I had to think for a bit before it came back to me.

"I got hit by a volleyball, didn't I?" I replied, remember the lovely gesture from Candice.

"That's right. It looks like you have a minor concussion, nothing really to worry about, but I've just called your parents and your mother will be here soon to pick you up."

"Okay." I responded, just as there was a knock at the door. It then opened and Noah walked in, followed by Candice.

"Is the patient up for visitors?" Noah playfully asked Miss Lawson.

"I supposed I could allow a couple." She smiled and Noah grinned before the two of them walked in. Miss Lawson then had to leave on some school nurse business and it was just the three of us.

"How're you feeling?" Noah asked me softly.

"I've got a concussion and a headache but other than that, not too bad." I shrugged.

"Yeah, Candice is really sorry." Noah said and Candice nodded with a smile.

"I really am," She said, "Actually, Noah, could you give us a minute alone? I want to apologise properly and I think there are some other things we need to talk about." I'm guessing she wants to talk about Harvey. Maybe I was just being paranoid, maybe she isn't out to get me, she's being so nice right now.

"Uh, yeah, sure. I'll leave you girls to it." Noah flashed us both a smile before leaving the room.

"Listen, Candice, I'm okay with you going out with Harvey." I told her with a smile.

"That's sweet," She returned the smile sarcastically before it fell into a scowl, "But I don't need your permission, I just need you to stay away from Harvey, got it?"

"Excuse me?" I frowned, taken back by her sudden change in attitude.

"Wow, you really are thick, aren't you?" She laughed spitefully, "Harvey is my boyfriend now, not yours. He doesn't like you anymore, okay?! So stay the hell away from us."

"What the hell, Candice?! I thought you were supposed to be my friend."

"Are you purposely being this stupid or what?" She snapped, "I'm not your friend, sweetie. I just wanted to meet your parents and now that I have, I don't need you anymore, thank god." She looked bored while she explained her plan to me, picking her chipped pink nail polish as if it were nothing.

"Oh, well, thank you for letting me know you're actually a total bitch," I shot sarcastically, "But I'm not going to stay away from Harvey just because you told me to. He's one of my best friends."

She then bent down so she was level with me and snarled in my face, "You seem to have forgotten that you're in the nurse's office because of me, so you're going to do exactly as I say from now on otherwise next time, you won't be so lucky and just end up with a minor head injury."

I'll admit, I was scared and her tone of voice made me flinch, but I tried to hide my fear. I was about to say something back when Miss Lawson came back in and Candice quickly stood back up so it didn't look like she'd basically just threatened my life.

"Oh, where's Noah?" Miss Lawson asked.

"He left so me and Isabella could chat." Candice explained, flashing me a venomous smile. I was the only one who could see the venom in it, though.

Before long, Mum arrived and took me home.

"How are you feeling, darling?" She asked me as we walked towards the school exit.

"I have a headache but I'm not too bad." I told her.

"Okay, well, when we get home, I'll make you some hot chocolate and you can lie on the couch and watch TV, how does that sound?"

"That sounds great." I grinned, just as Max and Hailee ran up to me. It was lunchtime so they weren't in class.

"Izzy! Oh my god, are you okay?" Hailee exclaimed.

"Do you have brain damage?!" Max asked which made me giggle.

"No, Max, I do not have brain damage. I just have a concussion, I'll be fine." I assured them both.

"Okay, well, we'll be straight over after school, okay?" Hailee promised.

"Great, as if I didn't already have a headache." I joked.

"Hey!" They both yelled in unison, making both me and Mum laugh.

"I'm kidding, I'll see you guys later." I chuckled.

Mum and I left the school and drove home, where Dad made a big fuss of me just like Mum did. I went upstairs to change out of my uniform and into my Cookie Monster pyjamas before going back downstairs where Mum had made me the hot chocolate she promised.

As they said they would, Max and Hailee came over after school which I was really happy about, although I was a little disappointed that Harvey didn't come to see me. Did he really care that little now?

Max and Hailee stayed for a couple hours before they had to get home and at around 7pm there was a knock at the door. I got up from where I was slumped on the couch and opened the door, a huge smile forming on my face when I saw it was Harvey.

"Hey." I greeted him.

"Hey, I'm really sorry I didn't come to see you earlier, I had after school detention," He explained and that put me at ease. He does still care.

"It's okay." I assured him, "Come in." He obliged and we both went into the living room.

"How are you feeling?" He asked me as we sat down on the sofa.

"Better than I did earlier." I answered.

"How did it even happen? How did you manage to get knocked out?" He wondered.

"Candice through a ball at my head." I told him the truth.

"Oh," He seemed surprised at that which was understandable, "But not on purpose, right?"

I sighed, wondering whether I should tell him. I soon decided that I should, for his own good.

"Yes, actually, on purpose," I paused as Harvey stared at me in shock, "Harvey, there's something you need to know about Candice; she's not who you think she is. She's not as nice as you think she is. She was only pretending to be my friend to get to my parents, she used me, and she's probably using you, too. She threatened me, as well. She told me that if I didn't stay away from you, she'd hurt me, badly. More than she already has."

Harvey didn't speak for a few minutes and I was getting anxious, "Harv, say something."

"I can't believe this." He finally spoke.

"I know this is a lot to take in, but it's not like your relationship is serious, right? You can just-"

"No, I can't believe you!" He shouted, cutting me off and making me jump.

"W-what?"

"I can't believe you'd make up such horrible things just because you're jealous!"

"What? No! I'm not jealous, it's true!" I exclaimed, desperate for him to believe me.

"Just drop it, Isabella. You just can't deal with the fact that I have a girlfriend and it's not you." Okay, that hurt.

"Why are you being such a prick?!" I was now shouting, too, "Yeah, I'm a little pissed because you're practically ignoring me and the rest of your friends for some girl you only just met, but do you really think I would make up such vicious things?"

"I don't know what to think, Izzy," He snapped, "But I do know that Candice is my girlfriend and you're not going to ruin that." And with that, he stood up and left the house, slamming the front door behind him.

I just sat there, trying to keep the tears in. That's the third big argument we've had in barely a month. What is happening to us?

A/N: So..... yeah, I've changed Elexa's name. I spent ages yesterday editing all 35 chapters before this one changing the name to Isabella but I don't know if wattpad has actually changed it yet so that's really annoying. I really hope it does show it's been changed eventually otherwise I totally wasted all of yesterday afternoon 🙄😩 but yeah, I've been considering changing the name for a while now for a couple reasons; 1) because I wasn't really liking the name Elexa anymore 2) because it sounds too much like Alessia and 3) because it's not Italian which is clearly a running theme in Anna and Jonathan's kids names.
I hope you guys are okay with this rather drastic change and I hope it doesn't take too much getting used to. I hope you enjoyed this chapter as well ☺️ love you all 💕
