Chapter 17

*Isabella's P.O.V*

I woke up to the sound of my phone alarm blaring out from my bedside table. I reached out and grabbed my phone, which told me it was 3:30 in the morning. I was about to turn off the alarm, groan and bury my head in my pillow, wondering why on earth I tortured myself by setting an alarm so early during the holidays, but then I saw what I'd named the alarm I set and remembered what was happening today. The alarm was titled: WE'RE GOING TO SORRENTO😍🎉✨. Now in a better and more excited mood, I turned off the alarm, put my phone back down and got out of bed. I went into my bathroom and turned the shower on. I got myself undressed and quickly used the toilet before stepping into the nice, warm water. I washed my hair with my honey and almond shampoo and conditioner before reaching for my pistachio and magnolia bodywash to wash my body with. I was absolutely in love with my bodywash, it smelt so lovely.

Once I was finished in the shower, I dried myself with my sunny yellow towel before going back into my room. I went over to my wardrobe to find something to wear. Bearing in mind I would be spending three hours on a plane today, I wanted to wear something comfortable, but something that looked cute as well. I decided on a loose white cropped tank top with an emoji yin yang symbol on, a pair of black leggings, a denim shirt which I left undone and a pair of maroon Vans. I put on a velvet black choker with a gold heart on the front, a black watch with rose gold details and a pair of white and gold butterfly earrings. I put my hair in a french braid which rested over my right shoulder and snapped a brunette flower crown girl case onto my phone. I grabbed the handle of my light blue floral suitcase which was all packed and ready to go, and my white Jansport backpack with a cool blue pattern on which I would be using as my carry-on, before I left my bedroom and went downstairs.

I walked into the kitchen after setting my luggage down by the front door next to everyone else's, where I was greeted by Mum, Dad, Emilia, Eduardo and Oma. I guessed Erika was still getting ready.

"Morning, sweetheart." Oma noticed me first and greeted me.

"Morning." I smiled at her and at everyone else, before going to sit down at the table, next to Emilia.

"Are you excited, Izzy?" Emilia asked me through a mouthful of chocolate stars cereal.

"Yeah, course I am!" I grinned at my little sister, who giggled.

"Would you like some breakfast, darling?" Mum asked me.

"Um, no thanks." I replied. I was too nervous about the flight to eat anything. I'd never liked flying, I always ended up overthinking and worrying about every possible thing that could go wrong, even if they were highly unlikely.

"You need to eat something, Bells." Dad said.

"Fine, I'll have a yoghurt." I snapped, getting up from the table and going over to the fridge. I didn't mean to snap, I was just starting to get myself worked up. "I'm sorry." I mumbled so that only Mum and Dad could hear me.

"It's alright, squirt." Dad smiled at me, wrapping an arm around me and giving me a squeeze. Mum came over to me after Dad let go.

"Listen, Bells, I know you're nervous about the flight, but try not to work yourself up, alright? Everything's going to be fine." She said softly.

"I know, but I can't help it." I sighed, "I'll try not to think about it too much."

"That's all I'm asking." She said with a smile, kissing me on the forehead. I smiled back at her and went back over to the table to eat my yoghurt, just as Erika walked in.

"Nice of you to finally join us." Dad said playfully.

"I was getting dressed. I don't just wake up with full makeup on and my hair done perfectly, you know." She stated.

"Don't worry, Rika, I understand." I assured my aunty with a grin, earning a grin from her in return as she went over to the kitchen to get some breakfast. I never call her "Aunty Erika" since she's only five years older than me and she's more like a cool big sister to me than an aunty, so it would feel weird to call her that to be honest.

Anyway, after we all had breakfast it was time to leave for the airport so we all made sure we'd packed everything we needed before we left the house. We were meeting the Mills at the airport, but as we left our house to get into the taxi we'd hired, they happened to be leaving their house at the exact same time. I saw Harvey and a smile crept onto my face as we waved at each other, the same smile on his face.

"That's so cute." Erika giggled from where she was walking next to me.

I turned to look at her, "What is?"

"You and Harvey." She smirked. I instantly felt my cheeks heat up.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I lied.

"Oh, please. I know a crush when I see one, plus you're my niece and I can read you like an open book." She claimed.

"Alright, fine, I might like him a tiny bit." I confessed.

"You guys would make such a cute couple!" She squealed, and I had to tell her to be quiet.

"You really think so?" I asked, a small smile on my face.

"Absolutely! Why haven't you made a move yet?" She wondered.

"I don't know... I mean, we've had a few moments with each other but I don't have the guts to tell him how I feel. I just want to go with the flow and see what happens." I explained.

"Alright, fair enough. But just promise me one thing."

"What?"

"I want to be chief bridesmaid at your wedding." She winked.

"Shut up." I laughed, giving her a gentle shove as we got into the taxi, which then took us to Gatwick Airport where we met the Mills family.

"Hey, Iz." Harvey smiled as he and Max walked over.

"Hiya." I grinned at them both, "Are you guys excited?"

"Yeah, we've never been to Italy before." Max said.

"Well, you're going to love Sorrento. It's beautiful." I sighed happily, thinking about how much fun my family and I have every year.

We all got on the bus which took us from the car park to the actual airport, where we went through check in, passport and boarding pass control, security and then waited for a bit in the departure lounge. Before I knew it, it was time to board the plane and my heart beat faster and faster with every step I took towards the huge metal tube that we would be spending the next three hours on at seven thousand feet in the air and as we went up the giant staircase onto the actual plane, I felt like my heart was about to jump out of my mouth. I ended up seated between the window and Harvey, with Max on the end, which I didn't hate, but I would've preferred to be sat with Mum and Dad for two reasons; because they would know how to keep my mind off of my nerves and also because if I ended up freaking out I wouldn't end up embarrassing myself in front of my crush.

"You okay?" Harvey looked at me in concern as I was already acting nervous; bouncing my leg up and down and breathing deeply.

"Yeah, I-I'm fine, I just don't like planes very much." I replied.

"Oh, do you want to go and sit with your parents? It might put you at ease..." He suggested.

"No, it's okay. I need to get over my fear." I stated firmly, telling that to myself more than Harvey.

"Well, I'm right here if you need support." He gave me a genuine smile as he placed his hand on top of mine. I looked down at our hands, before looking back up at Harvey as I returned the smile. All my nerves melted away for about four seconds until I felt the plane engine start up.

"Oh god." I breathed, my heartbeat speeding up again and my palms beginning to sweat. The flight attendants gave the whole safety presentation where they told us what to do if the plane crashed, which didn't really help.

"They're only taking precaution, it's not really going to happen." Harvey told me softly, his hand finding mine again.

"I know, I don't know why I'm being so dumb." I laughed shakily, trying to lighten the mood.

"Hey, you're not being dumb. Loads of people are afraid of flying, it's perfectly normal." He said. The plane started moving and I shut my eyes tightly, practically trembling in my seat.

"You're going to be fine." Harvey whispered to me, giving my hand a gentle squeeze as the plane took off, launching itself into the sky.
