"James, leave Lily alone please"

"But Jade, she loves me. I'm sure of it"

"Yeah? And apparently Snivelus discovered shampoo." Peter walked into the compartment with Remus behind him. "Where's Sirius?"

"Here! I'm here" Sirius stormed into the compartment and closed it.

"Impecable timing as always, my dear Sirius" I laughed and leaned back looking at the boy. He had his hair covering his face as he sat next to Remus. I was expecting a sarcastic comeback but instead he stayed quiet and looked at the window.

"Is it 11 yet?" He asked.

"About five minutes left I think" James looked at me and gestured to Sirius. I shrugged and looked at Remus who also shrugged and looked at Peter.

"Sirius, are you okay?" Peter asked Sirius putting a hand on his shoulder. He tensed slightly. I sighed and stood up once the train started to move.

"Hey Sirius, I believe you owe me some sweets. Let's go find the trolley" I looked at him and smiled.

"Why don't you wait until the trolley comes?" James asked confused.

"Because I am an impatient person and I want them now. Come on Sirius." I grabbed his hand and we left the compartment. We walked around for a while until I luckily found an empty compartment. "Your mom again?"

He nodded.

"She's worse every year."

"Where was it this time?" I sighed and gestured him to sit down. Sirius sat down next to me and put his head in his hands.

"A slap in the face. Right before we left for King's Cross. She told me the usual. About how I'm a disgrace to the Black name and she hopes that Regulus will turn out better than I did. It's a miracle she hasn't disowned me yet."

"Let me see." He shook his head. "Sirius, I can't help you if you don't let me see."

He removed his hands and I moved the hair from his face. On his left cheek there was a bright red hand mark. I sighed and pulled out my wand. I healed his cheek and smiled.

"All better. Nobody will know, only us. It'll be our secret, I promise." He smiled at this and hugged me.

"Thank you Jade."

"No need to thank me, Sirius. I'll always be here for you" I hugged him back.

...

"Welcome to another year at Hogwarts!" I sighed as I sat on the Slytherin table. I looked towards the Gryffindor table where my brother and friends were. James noticed me looking at him and started to make faces. I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"I still don't know why you hang out with them" Severus said sitting next to me. "They're idiots."

"Hush up, Sev. That's my brother and friends your talking about." I rolled my eyes again and started to eat.

"All the more reason. Only you would befriend a Gryffindor" he rolled his eyes also and glared at my brother.

"Oh yeah? And what about Lily Evans, huh? Isn't she your friend? And oh yeah, I almost forgot. She's also a gryffindor. You see, we're not that different. I have my gryffindor friends and you have yours." I smirked and looked at Lily. "And you forget that she's also my best friend."

Severus said nothing. He only rolled his eyes and ate in silence.

I win this round.

...

"Miss Potter, Miss Evans. Have you seen Mr. Potter, Black, Lupin and Pettigrew?" McGonagall asked once we walked into class.

"No, Professor. And you best pray to Merlin that they don't show up. That way, I can finally pay attention to this class and not scold Sirius every five seconds or get yet another detention." I said and Lily laughed.

"Last I saw them, they were running around outside the common room, Professor" Lily shrugged and I rolled my eyes. As if on cue, the four boys barged into the classroom yelling different excuses.

"You're late" McGonagall said sternly.

"I'm aware" James said.

"I thought Remus was aware" Sirius said and Peter started to laugh.

"Sirius, I would shut up if I were you" I rolled my eyes laughing also.

"For once, listen to Miss Potter and take a seat." McGonagall scolded at the boys and they reluctantly sat down.

"The star student does it again" James muttered sitting next to me.

"Your lucky she didn't give you all detention. What were you doing anyways?"

"Has anyone seen Snape?" The boys started to laugh and Lily and I facepalmed.

"Why do I even ask anymore?"

"I'm telling you. We should become animagi"

"Sirius that's brilliant" James exclaimed.

"Sirius that's illegal." I rolled my eyes and continued to do my homework.

"Jade, think about it. Why should Remus go through his changes alone?" Sirius grabbed my quill stopping making sure that he has my full attention. "Pay attention to me. This is serious"

"I don't like it either Sirius, and I wish I could do something about it."

"But we can. We can become animagi and go with Moony so he has some company when he changes. Werewolves only hurt humans, we're turning into animals. It's foolproof" Sirius had this look in his eyes as if he's thought about this for a while now.

"Moony?"

"Really, Peter? He had this whole analogy of becoming animagui and all you got was Moony?" James scolded at the boy.

"Can it, James. Sirius, this idea sounds incredibly stupid and illegal" I looked at Sirius who was grinning at me like a madman.

"Come on, Jade. We can even have cool nicknames like Moony which is what I decided to name Remus" I sighed and thought about it.

"All right. But you're helping me do research before we do something stupid" the three boys cheered.

"Why are we cheering?" Remus walked in with another bandage on his face and looking tired. I handed him some chocolate and he smiled at me. "Thanks Jade"

"Apparently we're becoming animagi" I told him.

"Let me guess. This was James' idea?"

"Nope. Sirius" Peter smiled.

"Of course" Remus leaned on my shoulder and looked at my Herbology notes. "I hate to ask but-"

"Yes Moony, I'll lend them to you once I'm finished with them."

"Moony?" Remus asked amused.

"Blame Sirius, not me."

"I like it." He shrugged and continued to look at my notes.

"You give Remus your notes but not your dear twin brother" James said dramatically and I rolled my eyes.

"She gives them to me because I actually do the effort and I help her with Ancient Runes" Remus smirked.

"Why are you two taking that class again?" Peter asked.

"Because Divination is somewhat stupid. Why do you need to open your third eye? Sirius and James are dangerous enough with two of them" I hit James with a roll of parchment making sure I don't move to much since Remus is starting to fall asleep. "Give me my quill Sirius. I need to finish this." He rolled his eyes and handed me my quill.

"So we can all agree that we're becoming animagi?"

"Yes Sirius. We're becoming animagi" I looked at Remus who fell asleep on my shoulder. "For Moony"

"For Moony"

"Jade can I talk to you for a minute?" Sirius grabbed my hand as I was headed for my common room.

"Sure. What's it about?"

"Not here. Let's go to the courtyard" Sirius said looking down. I nodded and we left the great hall.

We sat down under a tree and Sirius was fidgeting with his robes.

"I got another one" he trailed off.

"Merlins bloody beard, Sirius. That's the fifth one since term started. What does it say now?"

"The usual. Called me a blood traitor because I'm associating with Remus who's a half-blood and with you and James because you two are Potters. I'm worried about Regulus though"

"What about your brother?"

"I don't know how he is. I don't want to go home, but I'm worried for him. I can't wait until he turns 11 and comes here." I nodded in understanding. He suddenly started to cry. "I'm a bloody disgrace, Jade"

I hugged him tight and let him cry. After a while, I leaned back and wiped his tears. He smiled faintly at this.

"You're not a disgrace, Sirius. You're named after the brightest star for a reason. Don't let your mom get you down like this. What did your father say?" I leaned back on the tree and he leaned his head on my shoulder still crying.

"He doesn't say anything. It's like he doesn't even care, Jade. He just lets mom do whatever she wants to me and I'm sick of it. Sometimes I wish I could just run away." I sighed and started to play with his hair.

"Well whatever you decide to do, you're always welcome at my house." He perked up at this.

"Really?" I nodded. "Merlin you're amazing, Jade. Thanks."

"Like I told you on the train Sirius, I'm always here for you."
