The wedding
It was finally the day of the wedding. I woke up before when I noticed two arms around me. I turned my head and saw that Sirius was still asleep and holding me. I turned around and started to play with his hair.
"Ugh what time is it?" Sirius groaned and opened his eyes. "Morning sunshine"
"Half past eight, I think." I sat up and looked at the window. "Good morning, Sirius."
"Five more minutes." He pulled me down and cuddled up to me again.
"Sirius, you're freezing cold."
"I know, but you're so warm." He started to fall asleep again but I hit him.
"Wake up. You're mother won't like me sharing a bed with you"
"She doesn't like me as it is and I could care less" he rolled his eyes and sat up. "You brought your dress right?"
"Yep. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go get dressed before she comes in here and starts to yell at us" I grabbed my luggage and left for the bathroom.
...
After a shower, I got dressed and did my hair in the bathroom. I took in my appearance and barely recognized myself. The dress was absolutely beautiful and I can't believe I managed to do my hair also.
I walked out of the bathroom and heard yelling. I immediately knew that Sirius and his mum were at it again. I sighed and decided to stay in the hallway for a while just listening.
"A disgrace. And on top of that, you decide to bring her"
"You were the one who said it was okay!"
"Because she's a Slytherin. As you should've been."
"I don't care! Don't you get it? I don't care about that! She's my friend"
"She's a Potter"
"So what!?"
"They're blood traitors, boy. As are you!"
"I'd rather be a blood traitor than be a member of this family!"
SMACK!
I held in a breath and decided to make my way to his room. I opened the door slightly and saw that Reg was there with his head low and Sirius was looking everywhere except at his mother.
"That'll teach you some respect, boy. Hurry up and get dressed. We don't want to be late" with that she turned around and saw me standing in the doorway. She glared at me and left with Regulus behind her with his head still low.
"Sirius, I-" he ran towards me and hugged me. I hugged him back and started to stroke his back as he started crying.
"I hate it here" he managed to choke out between sobs. "I hate her. I hate living here. I hate this family. I hate my stupid blood. I hate everything."
"Sirius, don't let her get to you like that. You're better than this. You're better than your family. Your last name has nothing to do with who you are and what you'll become."
"We shouldn't have come. I shouldn't have brought you here. You don't deserve to see me like this"
"See you how?"
"Broken. Like a disgrace. My family hates me, Jade. They've all practically disowned me, except for one of my uncles. They all hate me because I'm not like them." he started to sob harder as I started to stroke his hair.
"Sirius Orion Black, I refuse to stand here while you feel sorry for yourself. You're not a disgrace. So what if you're a Gryff? I'm a Slytherin and I don't care. James doesn't care that you're a Black. Remus doesn't care that you're a Black and neither does Peter. We're all here for you. You are not worthless, Sirius. You're my best friend for Merlin's sake. Sometimes not even James understands me the way that you do. You can't let that witch bitch get to you like that. You're Sirius Black, the boy who doesn't take shit from anyone. You're named after the brightest star in the galaxy for a reason, it's time for you to notice that."
"I know that. I just can't wait until I finally leave this place, you know? It'll be like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I'll finally be able to breathe again."
"You're always welcome at my house, Sirius. No matter where you decide to go, my parents are there to welcome you home whenever you want to come visit." I pulled away from the hug and wiped his tears smiling. He nodded sniffling and looked at me.
"You couldn't have asked for a more shitty date. Here you are all dolled up and the first thing I did was cry and not compliment you." He laughed slightly and I rolled my eyes at him.
"And there's the Sirius that I know and love. Hurry up and finish getting dressed. We need to go before the witch bitch comes for round two." He smiled at me and got dressed as I sat on his bed and read the book that James gave me.
"You're not taking that book with you, right? I actually plan to dance with you" Sirius laughed and walked in. I blushed as I saw how he was dressed. Merlin's beard he's so hot.
"You clean up nice, Sirius" I smirked still blushing.
"What can I say? I need to look good for my date." He smirked back and started to fix his hair. "But I'm serious. You're not taking that book are you?"
"No Sirius. I'm not taking the book. I'm hiding it though. Can't have Kreacher snooping around." I grabbed the books and hid them between mine and Sirius clothes in our luggage. "We're leaving tonight right?"
"Tonight or tomorrow morning. I don't want to spend anymore time than necessary here and we promised the boys that we'll be back for Christmas." Sirius finished fixing his hair and turned around. "How do I look?"
"Like an idiot. Now come on before your parents come and yell at you again." I grabbed his hand and we left for the wedding.
...
After what probably was the most awkward and tense wedding ever, it was finally time for the reception. Sirius was tense the entire ceremony as he was seated next to his mum. I'm not surprised if I broke any bones by how hard he was gripping my hand.
"Well, that was awkward." I told Sirius as we entered the reception.
"I know right? I mean, arranged marriages are common in this family but Merlin's balls that was the most awkward and tense I've been."
"Oh yeah? And what about the time that-"
"WE DO NOT SPEAK OF IT" I started laughing and searched for our table. "In my defense, you were the one who dared me."
"I was joking. I didn't actually think that you would take off your pants and ask for my skirt. I'm still traumatized." I shrugged and pulled him towards our table which his mother luckily wasn't there.
"You wanted me to do it. Or else, you wouldn't have given me your skirt"
"In my defense, I wanted to cheer Moony up since it was after a full moon. And you did look great wearing my skirt. You would make a pretty girl, Sirius." I smirked.
"I did look fabulous, didn't I? It wasn't fun when it ripped and Minnie gave me detention. You have no idea how much animal crap I had to clean those two weeks." I laughed.
"Whatever. It was fun and James still owes me three galleons for that." I sat down and sighed. "I'm hungry."
"Me too. Don't be surprised if you see thousands of utensils. These people go all out."
"I'm not a barbarian, Sirius. I know how to use each one. At home, we just skip formalities most of the time. We don't see any needs" I shrugged.
Bellatrix and Rodulphus entered the reception area and I looked at Sirius who looked bored out of his mind.
Let the games begin.
...
Sirius and I for the next few hours ate, laughed and even shared stories with Andromeda who laughed at every single one and even scolded Sirius in a few of them.
"Exactly how many dung bombs, Siri?"
"Like twenty. Filch's office smelled for weeks."
"It's a miracle you're still in that school honestly." She laughed and looked at me. "And you're the mastermind behind everything?"
"Yep. Without me, their plans will fail. Normally I'm the one who gets them out of detention or make sure the receive the minimal punishment. Most of the time it works" I shrugged and ate some of the cake.
"Save some for your twin." Sirius smirked.
"Screw him. This cake is good." I finished my cake and laid back on my seat. Sirius rolled his eyes and stood up.
"Care to dance?" He smirked. I didn't have time to answer as Andromeda pulled me from my seat and threw me to Sirius' arms. He laughed and escorted me to the dance floor. "It's only fair that I treat you to a dance since you've suffered hell for the past two days"
I smiled and he put an arm around me and held my hand with the other and we started to dance. I was laughing the entire time as he twirled me and even picked me up once.
"Looks like being a Black pays off sometimes." I smirked.
"Looks like it does. It also helps when you know your dance partner. Are you sure you've never danced before?" He smiled down at me since even in heels he still towers over me.
"Before Hogwarts, I would always dance with dad. I can't count the amount of times that I've stepped in his feet. I've also danced with James a couple of times just for kicks. Surprisingly he was the one who stepped on my toes."
"Looks like dancing with Fleamont paid off. You're surprisingly light on your feet." I laughed as he twirled me a couple more times to prove a point. "How do you think the boys are?"
"They're probably running from Filch as we speak. James can't stay still for five minutes." I rolled my eyes and he twirled me some more. "You spin me one more time, I might puke. What is it with you and spinning me?"
"Just admiring my date. I know I haven't told you this, but you look amazing Jade. I wouldn't have anyone else accompany me here tonight." I blushed and hid my face in his chest as he laughed.
"Thank you Sirius. You look handsome tonight. I'm actually impressed."
"Like I said, I had to look nice for my date. Even though you stole the show tonight. Not even Mum could say anything bad about how you looked which is a first." I smiled at this and leaned up to kiss his cheek not caring about the glares that his mother was sending us.
And that's how we spent the rest of the night. Dancing and laughing and even more twirling.
...
"So we're taking the floo right? I don't think I could handle another ride with your mother."
"Yes. And we better hurry up before she appears for another round of 'Sirius you're a disgrace' show." He was packing frantically and so was I. We didn't even change from our dress and tuxedo. "You have the books?"
"Yes. Hurry up, I'm already done." I grabbed my bag and helped him finish packing since he was taking some more stuff to school.
"I'm done! Let's go!" We raced down the stairs and into the fireplace where the floo powder was.
"You don't plan on leaving without saying goodbye?" Regulus appeared out of nowhere making Sirius stop in his tracks. He sighed and turned around.
"I'm only gone for a few months, Reg. I'll be back before you notice I'm gone" he hugged his brother and I smiled. Regulus ran and hugged me also.
"I'll see you soon Reg. I plan on visiting over the summer. I'll even bring the boys next time" he smiled at this and watched the door in case Walburga came back.
"Ready, Jade?"
"Let's get the hell out of here. Hogsmeade?"
We grabbed floo powder and looked at each other.
"Three Broomsticks" we said in unison and disappeared in green smoke.
...
We appeared at the Three Broomsticks covered in soot and I almost lost my balance for a moment.
We managed to leave the three Broomsticks without Rosmerta scolding at us. We started to make our way towards the castle when I started shivering.
"Cold?"
"No shit. I'm wearing a dress for Merlin's sake." I rolled my eyes still shivering. He laughed and took off his jacket and wrapped it around me. "What about you?"
"I'm wearing sleeves, I'll live. You on the other hand look like you're going to die of frostbite of I don't get you to some heat soon." I rolled my eyes laughing and continued walking towards the Gryffindor common room surprisingly undetected.
...
"They're back!" Peter yelled when we walked through the portrait.
"Yeah and she's freezing. Moony, move over" Sirius escorted me towards the fireplace and sat next to me rubbing my arms in hopes of warming me up.
"How was it?" James asked walking over to me. "Merlin, Jade. You're as cold as ice. You're not going to your common room tonight. You're sleeping here."
"It was awkward as hell. The usual happened. Mum yelled, Regulus wanted to leave but she wouldn't let him. At least it wasn't as bad since Jade was there." Sirius shrugged and pulled me towards his chest and hugging me.
"It was still hell. At least the food was good and the cake was better." I smirked at James.
"You didn't bring me cake?"
"Nope."
"I'm offended."
I rolled my eyes and put my arms around Sirius finally feeling a bit warm.
"Well, it's time we get some sleep. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and we got everything we need to start the animagi process" Peter yawned and stood up.
"You two found the stuff?" I asked.
"Yep. We'll work on it tomorrow. You two should get some sleep. It's been a long day and those shoes don't look comfortable." James stood up also and yawned. "Oh and Didi. You look great. Mum did a great job on the dress" he kissed my forehead and went to bed with Remus hot on his heels.
"Thanks for being my date, Jade. I actually had fun." Sirius moved us towards the sofa and I smiled and leaned on his shoulder.
"Anything for you, Sirius. I had fun also. That was the most fun I've had in a while." I closed my eyes and started to doze off. Sirius started to play with the stray hairs that fell from my bun.
"I'm glad you had fun besides being around my family for two days."
"Like I told you today. I don't care about your last name. I just care about you." I smiled sleepily and he smiled back kissing my forehead.
"Get some rest. You deserve it." He laid down on the sofa and pulled me with him.
Sirius continued to stroke my hair and hummed a melody as I felt into a deep sleep.
I could get used to this.
