"JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH"

I groaned and started to chase him around the courtyard. Today we were starting the process of becoming animagi and everybody had the mandrake leaf in their mouths. Everybody except James Potter. The biggest drama queen in all of Hogwarts.

"JAMES PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH. SIRIUS COME HELP ME" I yelled at the laughing boy.

"Sorry, sunshine. But this is actually entertaining." I flipped him off and tried to pin James to the floor but Remus beat me to it.

"Hurry up and put the damn thing in his mouth" we fought with a struggling James for a while until I finally managed to put the leaf in his mouth.

"This thing tastes bitter."

"You can't take it off now. It's from full moon to full moon. That will give us enough time to find a place for the vials and for me to read the next step and actually understand it." I stood up and fixed my uniform and hair. "A bit more, and I would've considered putting you in a body bind."

"You wouldn't dare!?" James gasped.

"Don't fucking test me, James" I gave him an icy glare and he flinched and decided not to say anything. I sat down next to Sirius who immediately put an arm around me. Some girls in our year were glaring at me and I laughed.

"They're staring again" I mused.

"Let them. I don't care." Sirius shrugged and looked at the necklace that I was wearing. "They're probably jealous."

"Jealous of?"

"Merlin you're dense." He laughed. "I didn't give James a precious heirloom, did I? I gave it to the best girl in the world"

"I could've gotten a family heirloom." James muttered.

"Really James? Would you like to wear it?" I laughed and moved to take off the necklace but Sirius stopped me.

"I would put you to shame, little sister. Merlin knows that diamonds bring out my eyes." He flipped his imaginary hair and posed.

"Is there something I should know? Or possibly be worried about?"

"Nope."

"Are you sure?"

"Merlin, Jade. I'm not going to steal your man if that's what your worried about." James rolled his eyes and I felt Sirius tense. I gave him a look and scooted away from Sirius and moved towards Moony.

"How are you feeling, Moony?"

"Like hell. Favorite day of the month is tonight." He rolled his eyes and put his head on my lap. He looked at the girls that were still glaring at me. "If looks could kill, you'd be dead ages ago."

"Tell me about it. I'm about to hex them honestly" I rolled my eyes and flipped the girls off.

"Do it!" Peter encouraged me.

"Merlin balls, Peter! What's gotten into you?" James exclaimed. He just shrugged and continued to read over his Herbology notes.

I decided to ignore the comment and leaned towards Sirius again. Remus' head was still in my lap and he was falling asleep. I took the book that Sirius was reading.

"Found the next step?"

"No, but if you'll give me the book maybe I can" he tried to take the book from my hands but I didn't budge. "Jade, please"

"Nope. Pay attention to me." He rolled his eyes.

"I pay more than enough attention to you, sweetheart. What more could you want?"

"First of all, that's rude. Second, I want all of your attention. And third, this leaf tastes like shit."

"You're worse than James honestly." I glared and he held his hands in surrender. "Sorry, sunshine. What is it that you want?"

"Attention" I mumbled and opened the book on a random page and started to read it. I absentmindedly started to play with Remus' hair and Sirius leaned on my shoulder and looked at the book also.

"You say you want attention, yet you're reading?" He laughed.

"Yes. Is there a problem with that, Sirius?" I raised my eyebrow at him.

"Not at all sunshine. Not at all"

"Lumos maxima"

"You're not reading again, are you?" James asked me. I rolled my eyes and whacked him with my book. "No need to be violent."

"Do you want to find the next step or not? This isn't as easy as it looks." I scolded him and leaned towards Sirius.

"Leave her alone, James. She practically stole that book from me." I shushed him and continued reading.

I heard a howl and I knew that Remus finished changing into a werewolf and sighed.

"You would think that hearing that every month gets easier, but it really doesn't." Peter sighed and looked at the willow.

"It really doesn't. I swear that every time I hear it, I just want to cry. He doesn't deserve it." My eyes started to water and I decided to distract myself by reading. Sirius started to play with my hair in an effort to calm me down.

After a while of more howling and my heart breaking into a thousand pieces, I finally found it.

"I found the next step!"

"What!? Well go on, read it." James took the book excitedly but immediately gave it back.

"It says here that we have to add a silver teaspoon of dew from a place that neither sunlight nor human feet have touched for a full seven days-"

"We already knew that, Jade."

"Shut it James and let her read." Peter scolded the boy.

"We also need to add the chrysalis of a Death's-head Hawk to the crystal vial as well as the saliva-filled mandrake leaf. We leave this in a quiet and dark place until the next electrical storm. We can't look at it nor even think about it. While we wait for the electrical storm, we must say the incantation 'amato animo animato animagus'. And that's about as far as I've gotten." I closed the book. "Nox"

"Merlin, Jade. You're bloody brilliant." Peter praised me and I smiled.

"I try" I said shrugging and flinched when I heard another howl. "We need to become animagi soon, hearing Moony like that is breaking my heart."

"We're a step closer, sunshine. It won't be long now."

...

"He's back!" James yelled waking me up.

"Say it a bit louder, Bam Bam. Dumbledore DIDNT hear you" I hissed a ran over to Remus who was losing his balance. "Hey Moony"

"Hi Jade" he winced and held his side. The boys ran over to us and held him upright.

"We've got it from here, sunshine. Try and get some rest." Sirius smiled at me and handed me the cloak. "Filch is probably walking around."

"It's almost sunrise. Sit him here, I'll heal him up before he goes to Madame Pomfrey." The boys sat Remus down close to the willow and I kneeled in front of him and started to inspect his wounds. "Moony, take off your shirt."

"What?"

"You're bleeding and I can't heal it if I can't see it, dum-dum." Sirius helped him take off his shirt and I looked at his back and shoulders. I winced when I saw the scratches on his shoulder blades.

"How bad is it this time?" James asked.

"These scratches are pretty deep. I'll be able to stop the bleeding but I can't heal it properly. He'll have to go to Madame Pomfrey after this." I took out my wand and proceeded to stop the bleeding. He was wincing and fidgeting. "Sirius I need some help here. James, Peter, I need you two to hold him steady. Him fidgeting is opening the wounds again."

Sirius kneeled next to me and started to heal some of Remus' wounds while James and Peter held Remus to try and stop him from fidgeting.

"All right, that's all we can do for now. You're gonna have to go to Madame Pomfrey, Moony." I stood up and held my hand out for Remus who gladly took it.

"Thanks you guys. You don't have to do this"

"We've told you that we don't mind, Moony. Anything for you." I smiled at him and he smiled back and started to walk towards the hospital wing. "We'll check on you before class"

Peter yawned and James put an arm around him.

"We'll see you in a few hours, Jade. Take the cloak and try to get some sleep. He'll be fine." James kissed my forehead and left for the Gryffindor tower.

I yawned and looked at Sirius who was cleaning the slightly dried blood from his hands.

"It never gets easier does it?" He asked.

"No it doesn't. It breaks my heart honestly. I can't bear to see him in such a state." I wiped a tear that was falling from my eye and looked At the willow. "I just wish he didn't have to go threw that. He doesn't deserve it."

Sirius walked towards me and gave me a hug.

"Sometimes bad things happen to good people, sunshine. But Moony is fine, he just needs some company. Let's get you to the snake pit. You need the sleep more than we do." He wiped my tears and smiled at me. I smiled back and out the cloak over both of us and we walked towards the dungeons.

"Sirius fix your damn tie" I mumbled sleepily.

"Make me. It's a miracle I got dressed." He leaned on my shoulder and started to fall asleep. James and Peter were out cold on the table and Remus was sleeping in the hospital wing.

"Get off me, you're too heavy."

"Mm, but you're so comfortable." He put all of his weight on me and I almost fell out of my seat.

"Potters, Pettigrew, Black; why are you sleeping in my class?" Professor Slughorn asked us. They all mumbled incoherent responses. "Okay then. Miss Potter, what is the potion that is written on the board?"

I opened my eyes and scanned the ingredients.

"Draught of the living death. It's an extremely powerful sleeping Draught, sending the drinker into a deathlike slumber. It's an advanced potion that when made incorrectly, can kill the drinker instantly."

"Very good. 20 points for Slytherin, then. Next time I catch you all sleeping, it's detention for all of you. Understood?" We nodded and he continued the class as if nothing happened.

"The star student gets us out of trouble once again." Sirius mumbled smiling.

"You all should be kissing my ass. I'm the one who saves your asses every single time. Who's there to save my ass? Nobody." I crossed my arms and glared at my cauldron.

"Don't be such a drama queen, sunshine. You know that whenever you get detention, there's always one of us more than willing to join you."

"Yeah. Most of the time it's Sirius." James smirked.

"Oh hush up and pay attention before Slughorn gives us detention." I yawned and looked at the board. Sirius started to play with my hair making me sleepy.

"Mr. Black, what are the effects of alihotsy?"

"It causes uncontrollable laughter, sir." Sirius smirked.

"Very good. Five points for Gryffindor."

I laughed as I moved my cauldron directly in front of my, grabbed my quill and laid my head on the table.

"You're sleeping?"

"Yes. Wake me up when Slughorn asks me a question." I closed my eyes and fell asleep with Sirius still stroking my hair.

I wonder how Moony is doing.
