Hogsmeade
"Jade, it's not that I hate your brother. It's just-"
"Complicated?"
"Yeah." Lily trailed off and I laughed linking arms with her.
"Why won't you just admit that you like him? We're all waiting." I rolled my eyes as we entered Hogsmeade. "I see Durmstrang and Beuxbatons are here also. This should be interesting."
"Because I don't like him!" Lily protested.
"Fine, you don't like him. You love him." I teased and she hit my arm. "Violence is never the answer, Lily."
"It is when you say shit like that. I don't love him. I tolerate him." Lily rolled her eyes and I bursted out laughing.
"Whatever you say, Lils. Just ask him to the Ball."
"Why can't he ask me?" Lily asked.
"Lils, you've been rejecting him for like seven years. I can't blame the boy for being terrified of rejection." I shrugged. "What made you change your mind?"
"I don't know, Jade. I've spent a week trying to wrap my brain around it. And speaking of him, where are your boys and the girls?"
"The boys are probably at Zonko's. They just said that today was a 'guys day' and that I can't go near them until dinner. Alice is with Frank since he's visiting today and Dorcas and Marls are probably at the Three Broomsticks." I shrugged.
"Good, because I need a date with my sister." Lily smiled but it immediately fell. "Durmstrang student at two o'clock. My guess it's a sixth or seventh year."
"Hogwarts, right?" The random boy asked and we nodded. "Your school is really nice. It's different from ours."
"Good to know. Now, if you'll excuse us we have to be elsewhere." Lily said and pulled my arm walking away. The boy grabbed my arm and I groaned turning around. "I'm giving you five seconds to let her go before she kills you. You may think I'm joking, but I'm not."
"What's your name, sweetheart?" The boy asked me.
"Hell's favorite demon." I smirked and yanked my arm. "And as Hell's favorite demon, I don't hesitate."
"Even demons come from heaven." The boy smirked and held out his hand. "Name's Luca. I was going to study at Hogwarts but my parents decided that Durmstrang was a better fit."
"Did we ask for a life story?" I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "Trust me, you don't want to mess with the likes of me. You'd live to regret it."
"A sweet Angel like you? Tell me sweetheart, did it hurt?" Luca smiled and Lily bursted out laughing.
"No, but it stung like a bitch when I burned myself crawling from the depths of hell." I crossed my arms and looked at Lily. "Lils, how many times have I heard that?"
"Way too many times to count." Lily said still laughing. "Oh Merlin, I needed that today. Thanks for that."
I decided not to mention Sirius yet because Lily and I were having way too much fun messing with him. I wanted to see how long it took him before he asked me or Lily to the dance.
"Feisty, I like it." He shrugged and I scoffed. "The Yule Ball's in about a month and a half, you already have a date?" And there it is.
"Actually, I do. There's this guy that I hang out with. You might've seen him around. He's kinda tall, wears a leather jacket and rings, kinda badass when he wants to, and looks like sex on legs when he really wants to." I smirked and looked at Lily who was holding a laughter.
"This should be good." She mumbled.
"Yeah, I've seen him around. Not that impressive. What about him?"
"Does the word boyfriend ring a bell?" I gave him a smug look and he scoffed.
"That's your boyfriend." Luca said in disgust and I gave him a glare. "He doesn't look like much of a man to me."
"Oh shit." Lily looked at me wide-eyed as I stepped towards him.
"Wanna say that again? My threats never go empty. I could make you less of a man with a simple wave of my wand. Not that there's much to take away considering you smell like fear and desperation." I smirked and he looked at me in question.
"Yeah, she can smell fear from a mile away. That's why nobody messes with her." Lily shrugged.
"Whatever, you're just a-"
"Wanna finish that sentence, mate?" Sirius and the boys appeared out of nowhere. "She doesn't want to go with you, just accept it. And her threats never go empty."
"Ah, the boyfriend. Come to defend your damsel in distress?" Luca smirked but Sirius and the boys laughed.
"You're gonna wish that she was a damsel in distress." Sirius turned around and looked at me. "You wanna have a go before I do or what?"
I smirked and snapped my fingers.
"Everte Statum." I smirked when Luca went flying and landed around thirty feet away from us.
"Not bad, my love. Not bad. Looks like wandless magic has its perks." Sirius chuckled and put an arm around me.
"You bitch!" I felt Sirius tense and from the corner of my eye Lily and Remus had to control James.
"What did you just call her!?" Sirius growled and stomped towards him. "Say it again, I fucking dare you."
"A bitch. You're girlfriend's a-" Luca never finished his sentence because Sirius punched him square in the jaw.
"Her threats never come empty and neither do mine. Go near her or Lily again and you'll have to deal with us." Sirius said and gestured towards the boys who were still trying to restrain James from killing the boy.
"You're a demon!" Luca called out to me and I smiled sending him a wave.
"Some people say that the devil's a woman. And guess what? You're looking at her." Luca finally left and the boys finally released James. Sirius ran towards me and immediately started to check me for injuries.
"He didn't touch you, right?"
"Calm down, Padfoot. He just wanted a date for the Ball and he threw a fit when I told him that I had a boyfriend." I shrugged and hugged him. "Now if you'll excuse us, Lily and I have a date. We'll see you boys tonight."
"Are you sure? We can postpone guys day to be with you two." James butted in.
"James, no. We can take care of ourselves." Lily rolled her eyes and linked arms with me. "We'll see you all later."
"He called me James." I heard my brother mumble and I could basically hear the smile on his face.
"You love him." I told Lily once we left the boys and headed towards Honeydukes. "Ask him to the Ball, Lils. You two are destined to be together and you know it."
"Fine! I'll ask him tonight." Lily rolled her eyes.
"That's my girl."
...
"Oi, Potter!" Lily and I walked into the common room. I was holding a laughter and Lily had a determined look in her eyes.
"Yes, Evans?" James asked fearfully.
"You, me, Yule Ball, 6 o'clock. Don't be late." Lily looked at me and sent me a glare. "I'll see you later. I have to go and contemplate all of my life choices."
"YOU'RE WELCOME!" I yelled out at her and sat down to face the shocked Marauders.
"What the hell just happened?" James asked in shock.
"She's taking you to the ball. Isn't that what you wanted? You didn't ask her, so she asked you." I shrugged.
"It's about damn time." Remus mumble to me and I nodded.
"Well, damn." James mumbled and we all laughed and spent the rest of the afternoon teasing him.
...
"Are you sure you were okay after we left?"
"Siri for the fifth time, Lils and I were perfectly okay. Don't worry about it." I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck. "But damn, you can punch real good."
"Four years in Quidditch pays off. And nobody calls my sunshine a bitch and gets away with it. Honestly, men are so fucking disgusting nowadays. Can't a woman walk in peace?" Sirius rolled his eyes and put his hands on my waist pulling me closer.
"The answer is no. We can't walk in peace without someone lifting up our skirts or catcalling us. And from the looks of it, feminist Sirius has walked in the building again." I laughed and kissed him. "What were you boys doing today, anyways? The four of you disappeared after we left and Hogsmeade isn't that big."
"The boys and I had some unfinished business to take care of. Don't worry about it."
"Sirius Orion Black the Third." I warned.
"Calm down, sunshine. We didn't beat the asshole to a pulp, though it was tempting and Moony and Prongs suggested it which shocked me. We just had some other business to do." Sirius smiled and pecked my lips.
"Like what?"
"Like I said, don't worry about it my love. Just some final details for my suit for the Ball, that's all." I could tell that Sirius was lying but I decided to let it go for now since he was with the boys. I'll find out soon enough.
"If you say so." I said unsure.
"I wasn't cheating on you if that's what you're thinking. I wouldn't dare to do that. You mean too much to me and I don't want to lose my beautiful ray of sunshine." Sirius assured me.
"I know you weren't cheating, dum-dum. You're way too whipped to do that." I smirked and he rolled his eyes.
"Oh yeah? Then how about I show you how whipped I am by snogging you right here for the entire school to see." Sirius smirked and backed me up to a wall.
"You wouldn't dare." I challenged.
"Try me." And just like that, his lips were on mine and he gripped my hips pulling me closer if that was even possible. I laughed and felt Sirius smile before deepening the kiss.
"Detention after dinner, you two." We heard McGonagall say nonchalantly. Sirius broke the kiss and laughed.
"You love us Minnie. Don't even try to deny it." Sirius said and I hit his chest.
"An extra night for you, Mr. Black." I laughed and saw a faint smile on McGonagall's face.
She loves us and everybody knows it.
~Third Person POV~
"Albus, they're at it again." McGonagall said as they looked at Jade and Sirius who were talking and smiling. Suddenly, Sirius backed Jade towards a wall and kissed her with a passion that nobody has ever seen on him before.
"Let them be, Minerva. A love as pure as the one they share is almost impossible to witness." Dumbledore smiled softly at the couple who seemed to disconnect from the outside world and were only focused on each other. "Let them have this moment. Nobody knows what could happen to them in a few years. The love they have for each other is the thing that will keep them going when times get hard."
McGonagall looked at the couple who have been sharing secret kisses and smiles for the past three years. She knew about their secret outings and only have them detention if they came face-to-face with her. She knew that Jade always snuck into the dorms at night to be with Sirius.
She sighed and walked towards them.
"Detention after dinner, you two." Sirius broke the kiss and she fought the urge to smile when she saw how the two looked at each other.
"You love us, Minnie. Don't even try to deny it." Sirius said and Jade hit his chest fighting a smile.
"An extra night for you, Mr. Black." Jade bursted out laughing and started to tease Sirius. McGonagall couldn't help bet let a small smile slip as she witnessed the young couple.
She loved them. Professor McGonagall loved all of the Marauders as if they were her own children.
She helped Sirius when he got a letter from his wretched mother by having chats with him so he wouldn't focus on how much she hated him.
She helped James by discovering his love for Transfiguration and discreetly giving him more advanced spells to further his knowledge.
She helped Peter by giving him a nudge in the right direction when his grades were starting to slip.
She helped Remus by making him understand that he is no monster and helping him have the friendships he has today.
She helped Jade by leaving discreet notes in the library about animagus and marking the books with the correct spells and potions. She also helped Jade in understanding that just because you're a Slytherin, it doesn't mean you're evil and helped her have the confidence she has today.
And whether the Marauders chose to believe it or not, she discreetly helped Jade and Sirius get together. However, this is one thing she will jokingly deny until her dying day.
Why? Because she loved them and knew that Jade Potter was the only person who could save Sirius Black from himself.
