A Date?

~Sirius POV~

I woke up to a curtain opening and I winced at the sudden exposure to sunlight.

"Merlin, James. This is the fifth time in the last three hours." I rubbed my eyes and made sure to not move so much since Jade is still fast asleep.

"Just wanted to make sure there's no funny business. And to remind you that breakfast is ready." He looked over at Jade and smiled slightly. "She looks at peace. Normally when she has a nightmare, she doesn't sleep in fears of getting another one. It's actually relieving to see her sleeping so calmly."

I nodded and looked at her. She was still hugging my waist and her head was on my chest.

"You really do care for her, Pads?" Remus asked once he saw us. "I'm taking a picture of that. Peter hand me the camera."

"She means everything to me, Moony. I was actually willing to sacrifice my friendship with James in hopes of being able to call her mine." SNAP "I'm keeping that picture by the way."

Peter nodded and handed me the photo.

"Words can only get you so far, Padfoot. I need to see some action if I'm going to give you my approval." James sat on the bed and gave a longing look to Jade. "Didi, we know you're awake. Stop smiling."

"Don't expose me like that James." I heard Jade mumble and move closer to me. I laughed and kissed her forehead.

"Morning, sunshine." She sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.

"You have morning breath. Go brush your teeth or something." She mumbled again and stood from the bed. "James, I'm borrowing one of your jumper. I'm freezing cold."

"But you're wearing one. And you always steal mine."

"This is Sirius' because I got cold last night. And we live together so that counts as sharing. Sharing is caring, big brother." She smirked and opened his trunk.

"You can keep it, you know? I don't mind." She smiled big and nodded.

"If that means that she won't keep stealing my jumpers, so be it." James rolled his eyes and pushed his sister out of the room. "Go wash up and we'll join you in the Great Hall in thirty minutes." Jade gave James the bird and we all laughed.

"It's Saturday."

"That doesn't give you an excuse to not shower and we're all hungry. Thirty minutes, little sister. You and Sirius aren't joined at the hip." James slammed the door in her face and we heard a colorful vocabulary coming from the other side until she fell silent and finally left. "And that's how you do it."

"She's going to kill you in your sleep, James." Remus said astonished. "Didn't you hear what she said? I feel threatened and it wasn't directed at me."

"How do you deal with her?" Peter asked.

"Patience, candy and a few fights. The Potter household is not for the weak, especially with her. Padfoot are you sure you want to get involved in that?" James laughed. I nodded and stood up from the bed.

"Honestly, that was actually kinda cute to see her riled up like that." I shrugged and grabbed some clean clothes.

"Don't say that around her Pads, or else she'll kill you."

...

The four of us walked into the Great Hall when we saw Jade laughing with Regulus at the Slytherin table. She was still wearing my jumper which made me smile. James called her over and Jade said goodbye to my brother and made her way towards us.

"How is he?" I asked her once she sat down.

"He's okay, Sirius. He was telling me about a potions incident he had last week which ended with Slughorn taking 30 points from my House. It reminds me of James during first year." She kissed my cheek and took a bite out of my pancakes. "Bam Bam, serve me some pancakes please?"

"Do it yourself, Didi. I'm not a house elf."

"Please?" She gave James the puppy eyes and we all smirked at him knowing that nobody could resiste that look. It's the reason why she always manages to get us out of detention early.

"Damn you, Jade. Here you go. Now stop giving me that look." James handed her a plate full of pancakes, bacon and a goblet of orange juice. She smiled and started to eat happily. Suddenly, Lily walked in and tapped Jade on the shoulder.

"Morning, Lils. What's up?"

"Good morning, Jade. Just wanted to hand you the notes you lent me last week. I think with these I'll finally get an Outstanding in Magical Creatures. Thanks a lot." She handed Jade the notes and completely ignored James who was ruffling his hair and flexing his non-existent muscles.

"It's not a problem at all, Lils. I kinda owe you for saving my skin with Charms last month since I fell asleep. Detention with Flitwick isn't very fun." I laughed remembering the night she arrived late at dinner and started cussing at everybody who looked at her. Lily nodded laughing also and said goodbye.

"She totally looked at me right?"

"In your dreams, Bam Bam. Just let it go, it's never going to happen." Jade rolled her eyes and laughed at her twin brother.

"I'll have her one day." James said determinately.

"Sure, and I'll never get a detention again." We all laughed at Jade's comment and spent the rest of our breakfast teasing James.

...

"Padfoot, when are you going to ask my sister on a date? We are all getting impatient."

"Huh? I don't know how to do it yet." I shrugged and continued to look at Jade who was running around the courtyard with Marlene, Dorcas and Lily. "She must be freezing."

"She probably doesn't care since she's tackling Marls into the snow. Now answer the question." Remus appeared out of nowhere with Peter trailing behind.

"Like I said, I don't know how to do it yet."

"Well you better do it soon. We're all dying to see your first date. Evans has already started to pick out outfits for her." Peter said.

"How do you know that, Peter?" James asked.

"She started to talk to Jade about it when she was tutoring me last week. But seriously Pads, you have to do it soon."

I looked at Jade again who was climbing up a tree with Marlene with snowballs in hand. She looked so carefree and beautiful.

"How should I do it then?" I asked James and Remus. "You two are the closest to her. Help me!"

"Calm down, Padfoot. Just be yourself." Remus said.

"That's shit advice Moony. He looks like a lost puppy whenever she's around. He'll probably choke and not say anything. Look Sirius, my sister is as simple as they come but she's also a hopeless romantic. She likes details. It's the little things that you did that made her fall for you. Remember that and you can thank me on your wedding day."

"But I haven't done anything!" I said exasperated.

"That's what you think, Pads. You've done a lot of things for her in these four years." Peter smirked.

"Like?"

"The great detention of '72, the raids in the kitchen at four am during finals week, the wedding, the greenhouse, THE WEDDING, and last night. Did I mention the wedding? I didn't? Well, THE WEDDING!" Remus pointed out. "It's the little details, Sirius."

"I didn't even do anything with the greenhouse incident, so we can scratch that. And how do you know about what happened that night?"

"I just know things. And don't say that you didn't do anything, Pads. You were the one barking orders at Peter and I and then you moved to punch Devon. And may I also remind you that YOU were the one who picked her up and took her to the Hospital Wing, and that YOU were the one that decided that she won't be alone in detention anymore and that somebody should always accompany her wherever she goes. She doesn't know this by the way, so don't go jumping to conclusions." Remus rolled his eyes and pushed me towards the courtyard. "Now grow a pair and ask her before James kills you."

"I MIGHT!" James yelled. "But Moony is right as always, Pads. Grow a damn pair and ask her before she starts to overthink and get anxiety. You know how bad it gets. And also do it before she falls from that tree. JADE YOU'RE GOING TO KILL YOURSELF, GET DOWN FROM THERE!"

"MAKE ME, ASSHAT!"

They pushed me until I was directly in front of her. Jade noticed and jumped down from the tree in a not so gracious way.

"Hey Siri, what's up?" She wiped the snow form her pants and smiled at me. Her nose and cheeks were red from the cold and her scarf covered almost half of her face. She looks so adorable. Why is she making this so much harder than it should be?

"Well, I've been thinking about this for a while and-"

"JUST DO IT DAMN IT!"

"HE WAS ABOUT TO DO IT UNTIL YOU INTERRUPTED, POTTER!" I heard a smack and I know that Lily hit James. "Continue, Sirius."

"Ugh, I can't do this with you people watching me." I grabbed Jade's hand and ran towards an empty hallway.

"Sirius, what's going on?"

"Will you like to go on a date to Hogsmeade with me on Christmas Eve? I know it's two weeks away and all but I know how much you like watching the lights and snow on Hogsmeade and thought that you might want to go see it since we couldn't last year because of the wedding. Well, we kinda did but you were freezing and couldn't see it properly and-"

"Siri, you're rambling again." She laughed and grabbed my hands. "And it's about damn time you asked me. I was actually talking with the girls and I was going to ask you tonight after dinner."

"So is that a yes?"

"Yes, Sirius. I'll go on a date with you to Hogsmeade on Christmas Eve to watch the lights and snow since i couldn't last year because of the wedding and I couldn't see it properly since I was freezing." Jade smirked and I rolled my eyes.

"Stop imitating me. I do it better."

"As if." She wrapped her arms around me neck and pulled me into an embrace. I sighed happily and hugged her back. "You do know that they're watching , right?"

"I'd be surprised if they weren't. Give it two seconds." I whispered to her and hugged her tighter.

"WELL, BOYS! HE FINALLY DID IT. SIRIUS BLACK GREW A PAIR AND ASKED JADE OUT! Remus, Marlene, grab the camera and record this beautiful moment."

I heard the camera snap the picture and Dorcas laughing. I paid no attention to them, only to the girl that I was currently holding in my arms.

She's perfect.
