Esther's POV

"Can't you drive any faster?!" I sobbed and Nina held my shoulders. Immediately I was informed about Terrance's accident, I told the others and we set off to the hospital.

"Calm down Esther." Nina whispered and I spread my palms on my cheeks. My phone vibrated of a message and I brought it out to read it.

Are you so happy that you forgot me? Exactly what I thought. So I decided that by wiping out your husband from this earth so that I can get you. Oh so that simply means, I'll kill anyone who tries to take you away from me.

My stomach churned in hatred and fear and I read the message again and typed my reply.

Why can't you just leave me alone? Huh?

Then came the reply.

Because I love you and since you betrayed my love, I want REVENGE.

Esther! stop crying, everything will be fine." Nina assured and before I could reply her, Nigel beat me to it.

"We're here."

We all got down and rushed into the hospital.

"Um hey Miss, has any patient called Terrance Dogulas been admitted here recently?" Shark asked the lady.

"Let me check, have a seat." She said calmly and I wished I could slap her.

"No, hurry the fuck up!" My cracked voice managed to come out. The lady flinched at my words and typed something onto the computer.

"Ward 26 middle floor and please fill these forms." She grumbled and we rushed to that floor after I filled the forms with some crappy gibberish handwriting.

We reached the place and met up with the doctor.

"Doc, where the patient called Terrance Dogulas?" Silas demanded.

"Which one of you are his relatives? " He asked and I stood in front of Silas.

"Me, I'm his wife." I answered wiping my wet cheeks again.

"Oh ok but please don't worry, your husband will be fine." He assured.

"Is he fine or he will be fine?" I demanded.

"Please, don't worry."

"I want to see him now." I ordered.

"Sorry Mrs but you can't see him right now."

"And why?!" I demanded almost annoyed.

"Ma'am please first of all, calm down and-"

"Calm down? What the fuck? My husband's life is in danger and you're telling me to calm down? What the hell? Let me see him!" I yelled.

Just as I was about to lunge at the poor doctor who was just trying to do his job, Silas held me from behind and engulfed me in a calming hug.

"Esther calm down." He said placing his chin on my head.

"No dude, I need to see Terrance..he..he needs me." I muffled into his chest.

"OK Ma'am, if you want to see him, then you'll have to wait." The doctor countered when I broke away from Silas.

"How long will I wait?" I asked rubbing my puffy eyes as I hiccuped.

"A..about f..five hours." He said. I sighed a shaky sigh before I sat into a chair and I ran my fingers through my hair.

"Esther.." Nigel try to say.

"If you're telling me to not stay here then forget because I'm not moving a muscle." I declared glaring at him and he went silent.

"Girl.."

"Jam no!" I said. "You guys go home and inform Mr. Douglas." I suggested

"If you're staying behind then we're staying too." Karen said.

"No, you guys can't stay behind just because of me, please." I said. After millions of convictions, they left and I stayed behind.

My mind drifted back to the message. It had been four years since that incident happened. Why can't he just leave me alone? He didn't die so why is he still after me?!

"Mrs, are you sure you want to stay behind?" The doctor asked worriedly.

"Do you want to get slapped before you find out?" I hissed. I knew I was being mean but who could blame me? I just couldn't stand it. Terrance's life was in danger and my heart was in pain.

The doctor shook his head in a no and left leaving me to think. He would keep haunting me and he even threatened to harm the people I loved.

Maybe, just maybe.

I shivered instantly when the cold winds whipped me. I couldn't let Terrance die because of me. I couldn't let that happen.

So maybe I should leave Terrance. I love him so much and I can't bear to see him die. But I wasn't leaving until he opened his eyes.

I had to make sure he was okay before I left him. I knew he loved me but I loved him too and I couldn't let him suffer because of my mistake.

I laid fully in the chair, hugged my knees and continued whimpering.

"Doctor, Are you sure she's allowed to see him?" I heard a female voice ask.

"Well, she wants to see her husband and I don't think she would take no for an answer.

"But doctor-"

"Shhh." He said because my leg had to just move. I sat upright and rubbed my puffy eyes.

"Can I see him now?" I asked in a raspy voice.

"Yes please." He said. I yawned, got up and followed the doctor to the place. He opened the door and when I eyes landed on Terrance's figure lying on the bed with a drip over him, I fought the urge to break down.

I stared at his wounds through my teary eyes as I slowly approached him. He had a bandage across his forehead and I could see the circle of blood peeking through it. Both of his wrists were bandaged as well and the one that made me wince more was the large cut next to his abs. Moreover, it pained me that he wasn't awake.

"Is he awake?" I asked the doctor.

"He's unconscious." The doctor said.

"So he's just asleep?" I asked full of hope.

"You can say that." He countered.

"But is it that?" I asked back sniffing.

"Madam, don't worry, he'll be fine." The doctor assured and left and that was when I realised I was holding Terrance's face.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and gently kissed his cheek . His body felt cold and I felt scared.

"Terrance, can you hear me?" I asked sobbing.

"Terrance, wake up, we have to go home." I whimpered.

"Terrance? Baby? Please wake up." I begged.

"Don't leave me..I..I can't lose you.." I sniffed.

"I..I love you." I whispered and pecked his cheeks. Exactly ten minutes later, the doctor entered.

"M..madam, ple..ase it's.. time to leave." He stuttered.

"No, I'm going anywhere." I declared.

"Madam, please it's very late-"

"And so? I said I'm not going anywhere!" I announced.

"But-" The doctor didn't continue when I growled at him.

"OK madam." He left.

I didn't know I already hated the doctor. Why was he so difficult? In fact fuck him.

Just as I was about to turn off my phone, I received a call from the unknown number that had been sending me messages.

Glancing briefly at Terrance, I got up and left the room to the washroom and after closing the door, I picked up the call.

"What do you want?" I demanded.

"For you to leave that "husband" of yours." He replied.

"Can't you just leave me alone? Huh? It's been four years!"

"That's exactly the point sweetheart, I want revenge for what you did to me so I'm gonna start striking in your family." He growled and hung up. With tensed fearful steps, I came out of the washroom to go to Terrance.

Intertwining my fingers with his, I laid on the couch by him and drifted to sleep.
