I stared over backstage, everyone running around, signs being put up so everyone knew where they needed to be. Several superstars entering or running to find the gorilla, superstars scattered and going over their segments. It had been barely two months and I missed it all, I missed it more than anything. I couldn't wait to be one of the superstars preparing for the big show, to hear the crowd either boo or encourage you as you wrestled. Me being the Sellout booing was what I had been used to for the last year and a half.

"You can admit it" Hunter rolled his eyes as he fixed my tie. He smirked and I smacked his hand away as he tore my attention off what was happening behind him.

"Hey. We're standing in the fucking parking lot, can you not treat me like I'm a kid" I groaned even though he had done me a favour as my hands were currently occupied by my crutches.

"Shut up." He narrowed his eyes, briefly tightening my tie to prove a point.

"What do I need to admit anyway?"

"That you can't wait to see Nicole" he smirked, patting my cheek before moving away from me as he finished.

"You mean you can't wait" I scoffed and glanced down at my brace covered leg, reminding me how he had dragged my ass out of bed when I had simply decided to stay home. I didn't want them all to see me like this, I was a man they hated and now they would see me weak.

"I have been to see her a couple of times" he admitted and I couldn't help the surprise contained in my voice as I responded.

"What?"

"Randy and I are on good terms so I have been to visit them, more him obviously but she was there. Her mom is over there with them so you shouldn't feel like a kid for staying with us." I nodded while I found it abit strange, I guess it was good that things were reaching a level of comfortability for them. I stopped myself from asking if Stephanie had known about these visits even though Randy was there.

I on the other hand hadn't been to see her but had been a good boyfriend in suggesting AJ spend the holidays with her family instead of taking care of me. Staying with Hunter had its conveniences and I appreciated all he had done for me in the last few months. And I could gladly say I was still on Stephanie's good side and of course trying to lighten her anger towards Nicole.

"Well I'm happy to hear all is good with the unconventional family we are" I chuckled.

"I know you're kidding but I actually am happy, I can sleep peacefully at night. Even though its only a couple hours" He rolled his eyes as we entered the building.

"Or its just the fact that none of us are at work so you don't have to fear any fights breaking out" I glanced at him and he smiled.

"Nah, the place isn't the same without you guys. Makes me feel more old when newbies come up, I mean I'm proud cause I'm doing my job properly but its bittersweet. Anyway I have to meet Steph, I'll see you later" I nodded as he walked off and made my way into the arena hoping tonight would go well for all of us.

"So I know I'm definitely not winning" Paige rolled her eyes but then giggled as she approached us at the gorilla. Us being the injured bunch that had nowhere else to be so we decided to just watch the show from the back.

"What do you mean?" I questioned as Nicole was sat beside Randy a couple feet away. I hadn't seen her since her birthday so I was extremely happy to see her and her me.

"They're going to mock Steve Harvey's controversial mistake. That's why Truth is presenting it, I'm going to be the fake winner" She shrugged with a subtle pout whilst glancing at the screen.

"Oh well, do you know the real winner?" I frowned as she didn't really seemed too upset about it.

"Nope" She shrugged and sat back as we watched R-Truth vacate the area and make his way out.

"You don't seem too sad about it though?" I smiled knowing that Paige would usually express if she thought it was shit.

"I'm still young, Rollins. I have plenty of time to get the award." She winked.

"Good point" I chuckled as they played clips for all the nominees and I briefly glanced at Nicole and held my fingers crossed to which she giggled before doing the same. I really hoped she would win as she needed it, especially when our lives had changed so much.

"That's my cue" I heard Paige as they announced her as the winner and Nicole immediately hugged her before she went off. I took my crutches and made my way over to her as Randy smiled slightly.

"It's okay, there's always next year" I smiled even though she still stood a chance I'm sure she didn't know that.

"Well I don't think there is but its still..."

"Oh sorry... Nikki Bella" we heard her name being called and in the corner of my eye I saw Paige throwing a tantrum.

"Looks like you won't have to wait" I smiled and hugged her before Randy did the same and kissed her forehead.

"What did she mean by she's not sure about next year? I thought we all had nine months max on the sidelines?" I questioned him after she left the gorilla.

"Yeah I guess she's not sure when her surgery will be taking place" He shrugged and I simply nodded even though there seemed to be more as her voice filled the area and we all paid attention.

Paige stood beside her as Nikki held her award.              , "So I just first want to thank the WWE Universe and The Bella Army for voting me as your Diva of the Year! Let me tell you, its been quite an amazing year, from being your longest reigning Diva's Champion to working with my love Randy Orton."

I rolled my eyes at the bright smile on Randy's face as she mentioned his name. He hadn't been expecting it which was shown by his reaction but he undoubtedly appreciated it.

"I want to dedicate this award to every woman in the WWE, to all the women at NXT and every one of you. Thank you so much!"

"Smile!" Nikki squeezed my side and I smiled my brightest smile as I stood beside her as Superstar of the Year. Two injured best friends stealing the Award show...

Kinda hope they end up together in reality. They are so cute together!

"I'm so happy you won, Colby" she whispered as the photographer focused on the other lucky superstars and I was thankful as she loosened my tie for me.

"You can admit you wanted your man to win" I teased as we moved towards the exit where I could wait for Hunter and Steph while she went off with Randy. He had given us some space to celebrate I suppose.

"Either way I'm happy. You guys have both had a great year, you were certainly the best heel ever" She smiled and I stopped. "Promise when you're off these things you'll come visit?"

"I promise" I smiled as I wouldn't wait too long before seeing one of my favourite people.

"Bye babe" I hugged Nicole before watching as she went over to the exit.

I was waiting for Hunter to get done so we could leave when I saw Nick watching her as she disappeared into the parking lot. A ghost from her past I tried to be neutral with but he always had a way of rubbing me up the wrong way. In the beginning it had been abit similar to the Randy story cause he had assumed something was happening between Nicole and I which was never the case.

"Congrats to you two on the win for the night" He smiled once he remembered I was close by and moved towards me.

"Thanks, wouldn't share it with anyone else" I shrugged and he nodded.

"I'm guessing she left with Randy since they are together?" He raised his eyebrow and seemed to be fishing when the truth was already out there.

"Yeah well you have seen the posts and heard her mention him in her speech" I smiled slightly, as it felt odd having a conversation with him unrelated to work.

"I have but she told me they are engaged so I was just confused as to why she wasn't posting that all over social media. I mean we know how she is, kinda feels like their relationship is convenient. They're both injured, the new romance helps keep people talking about them"

"Like you are now" I nodded shifting on my crutches and honestly felt like lifting one of them and knocking his annoying ass out.

"Just seems odd. I mean if they are..." He seemed confused when I wasn't sure why it wasn't believable when Nicole and Randy were in love. Even if they weren't engaged it was bound to happen sooner rather than later.

"If you heard it from her then why wouldn't it be true? If it is or isn't, its frankly got nothing to do with you when you couldn't step up to put a ring on it. What I do know is, he loves her much more than you ever did and if there isn't a ring on her finger yet then there probably will be soon. So why don't you do her a favour and stop snooping cause your chapter in her life ended a long time ago"

I smiled at Randy's hand entangled in mine as we drove over to dinner in a limousine courtesy of Hunter. Tonight had been amazing, I had won Diva of the Year and got to share the moment with my best friend. It meant a lot to both of us since we were both currently injured for the last two months and the fact that they still believed in us filled my heart.

What dampened the mood was that even though Randy had been absolutely ecstatic when I had won, half hour later Seth was granted a similar win and I knew he wasn't too happy about it. I mean he had congratulated him but had disappeared for a hour and where he was I didn't know. So now as we approached the restaurant I hoped his mood would lighten up so it could continue being a great night.

"Do you think I should have changed out of this for dinner?" I raised my eyebrow as he had been sceptical about my outfit choice while we had been at the hotel. I mean he loved it obviously but the snake of course wasn't keen on everyone else loving it.

"No, definitely not" his eyes briefly glanced over me. "We're going to be in a private room which saves me the trouble of glaring at idiots"

"I wore it for you, so as long as you love me wearing it I'm happy with my choice"

I stared at Randy as we ate dessert, he had been off throughout dinner and it was beginning to bug me. I tried to distract him from where we had come from but he seemed distant.

"I know you're mad but the fans chose Colby, Randy. It would have been amazing if you and I shared the win, hottest couple in WWE standing side by side but here we are so it really doesn't matter its just..."

"Just an award I know" he sighed and leaned back.

"Randy, I really don't want to have another fight about Colby. I'm on cloud nine because I got to see everyone and you know how nervous I was to see them after being away for months and with our relationship" I had left with not many knowing about my injury but coming back knowing it was all on pause was bittersweet. I was grateful the fans chose me cause it meant I got to have that brief rush of being in front of them before I was back home.

"And what did they say?"

"What?"

"About our relationship? What did your entire squad say about your relationship with a snake like me?"

I raised my eyebrow due to his choice of words but spoke the truth, "Well they were happy for me. They were all surprised but we're women, they could see the way I looked at you during our feud. More importantly during our Mania match and all that, it was obvious to them"

"To them but not to everyone"

I frowned, "what do you mean?"

"Nick"

I wasn't sure if Colby had spilled about my altercation with him or not, "Oh well yeah but he knows now"

"I mean he knows we are in a relationship but apparently also knows we are engaged?"

My eyes widened, "he told you?"

Fuck.

"Yes he did." He raised his eyebrow questioningly at me and I couldn't read his face.

"I'm.. I'm sorry he was just being an annoying ass and it slipped. If you want I will tell him whenever I see him again that we're not engaged" I groaned gulping down the rest of my wine as I had not seen that coming, I could practically hear Colby telling me to communicate.
We had just had a huge discussion laying all our cards on the table and here I had failed to tell him about a white lie.

"So we're not engaged? So you're saying you do not see a future with me" He frowned seeming offended by my reaction.

"I mean I do but you didn't..." I stopped talking as I saw Alanna being ushered into the VIP area and as far as I knew she was meant to be home with her mom.

"Ally, what on earth are you..." She walked over to me with a bright smile on her face.

"Coco, my daddy loves you loads and I love you too. My mommy has been happy for so long and I just wanted my daddy to be the same. Whenever you visit he is always happy and so am I, I love seeing my daddy smile and I love that its because of you. My mommy's family is complete so will you please say yes and make my daddy's complete?" She smiled proudly as she finished and I frowned until I saw Randy stand up from his chair and kneel in front of me...
