CHAPTER TWO
You woke up to a doctor coming in with your breakfast. You were surprised that you hadn't had the dream. The doctor was a woman, she had blonde hair pinned back in a bun, her name was Via. She was the only doctor you had a liking to.
She was nices and treated you like a person, not a sick little patient. "I supposed you met your new friend," she smiled jestering to the still sleeping Tadashi.
She set a tray with a small amount of food. Everyday you swore the food they gave you portions were smaller. "Via, is the boy sick like me?" curious on why Tadashi was placed here with you.
Sure he was burn but he could have been placed in a different hospital, or in a different part of this one. Via frowned taking your left hand and playing with your fingers, "Were not sure (N/N=Nickname), your sickness is the first of its kind, he shows signs but hes also here because his burns are bad, and he has other injuries."
You bowed you head looking at the table that layed over you with your tray of mush. There was a moment of silence. Via pressed down on each your figures, "He has a family," you said slowly before looking up at her, "Do I have one?"
Via looked at you smiling sadly, placing something in your hand and curling your fingers over it."Maybe."
"So I don't then?" You frowned, "I knew it, if I had a family they would have found me by now, they would have visited me."
You couldn't hold the tears that fell from your eyes, "(Y/N) don't get upset, you know its not good for your sickness, last thing we need is one of you shocks."
Thats what the doctors called them. Shocks, they happened often mostly when you were, scared, or upset. You hated them they made the world spin, and it hard to breath. You felt as if you were being shocked, and burned.
With the Shocks came visions, the ones that confused you. The visions usually recurred or were very similar. They were often a places, ones you feel as if you know. Via patted you on your head before standing up and leaving not before sending you a wink.
You opened you had smiling as you seen (Favorite Candy) she gave you one everyday. You weren't aloud much of anything sweet. You were about to rip it open and eat it but stopped as you watched Tadashi stir in his sleep.
Carefully you stuck the candy in your pocket and walked over to the sleeping boy. Lightly you poked his cheek. He woke up instantly and stared at you, "Morning," you smiled, "The doctors brought you your breakfast a bit ago, its probably cold but it taste better that way, Oh! It actually taste better than it looks,-"
"You talk a lot," he commented.
You blushed, "Sorry about my babbling."
"No its okay, I kinda enjoy it," Tadashi tells you.
You smiled quickly taking the candy out of your pocket, "Here I thought you might want this, I mean it must be hard, I mean this is all new for you, but you get used to it, besides its not that bad."
"Um...thanks,"
"So," you happily jumped onto the hospital bed causing Tadashi flinch, "Whats it like."
He looked at you confused, "Whats, what like?"
You chuckled standing up for this first time in a long time you felt like running a mile, "Everything, like what does the outside look like in person? what are your friends like? how does it feel to have a family? what was your life like? how did you get so badly burned? did you go to school? what do you wanna be when you grow up? What-"
"Okay slow down," he laughed, "On thing at a time."
"Oh, okay," she blushed again running your hand through your hair, "Um, Hiro your brother you mentioned what was he like?"
You wanted to know, you never had a sibling at least not one you remembered. Tadashi looked at you and smiled softly. You sat down listening to everything he said. He told you about how his brother graduated high school at thirteen, how he used to have this problem with Hiro bot fighting.
Bot fighting? It sound so familiar.
He went on telling about the show cases and the microbots, along with other stories about him and Hiro. It sound like they were closes. It made you wish you had a sibling, anyone really at the moment.
"You must really miss him," your commented after he was finished.
"Yah," Tadashi says.
You hugged him careful not to touch his injuries, "Don't worry I'll help get you back to him, I'll try and convince the doctors or something. "
Before he could reply the door opened and in walked Via. Your flinched knowing what came next. "(N/N) Time for your treatment," she says.
You began to walk towards her Tadashi stopping you, "Treatment?" He asked.
"Yeah, its more of like a check up, it should only be a couple hours," You said, "See you in a bit."
You followed Via who lead you to a room down the hall from the sleeping quarters and a left past the Main Room. It was a open space where you spent your time reading, playing board games by yourself and did your studies.
The room you entered was white and silver. You didn't hesitate to get onto the metal table. It was cold and you shivered. Doctor Rockwell grabbed a syringe filled with a strange purple colored liquid.
You barley flinched as Via held your head and the doctor injected the needle through your right eyes pupil. You felt nothing but a sudden dizziness wash over you. Everything became fussy and you felt tired. Your last thought was of Tadashi and how he was alone waiting for you to return.
...
You woke up to Tadashi shaking you awake. You yawn the feeling of tiredness and pain over whelmed you. Groaning you sat upwards looking at the raven haired boy. He looked quiet relieved at you being awake and there. A warm feeling elope you and a blush formed on your face.
You didn't think Tadashi noticed. You gave a smiled, "How long have I been out?"
"I don't know they just brought you here," he tells you, "What did they do to you what kind of checkup takes eight hours!"
You looked at him surprised. Eight hours that was insane. Had it always taken that long? Shaking away the question you slowly got up. "How about we go to the main room will play checkers or something. "
Hopping up you started to the door beep following behind. You looked back to Tadashi. Unlike you in your white nightgown, he stood in gray sweat pants and a paper like green t-shirt with plain white tennis shoes.
He looked amazingly adorable. You nodded him to follow and he did. The main room was like the rest of the place except for the colorful books and games that where stacked on shelf's. You grabbed all you could carry and dropped it on the glass table between to white leather recliners.
You set up the checker game and looked at Tadashi who stood in the hallway looking back and forth. "After you left and the first couple hours past I went to look for you," He says, "You weren't anywhere, where ever they took you it was out of this tin can. "
You took this in before looking back to the game, " I told you id help you get out until then lets play a game."
He hesitated before nodding and coming to sit across from you. Smiling you did the first move. He followed less enthusiastic. You were so happy to finally being able to be with someone. Never had you played a game with anyone but yourself.
On your turn you decided to start a conversation, "Whats your home like?"
He looked at the board taking his next turn before answering, "I live...lived above my Aunt Cass café, with her, my brother, and the cat Mochi."
You smiled softly, "What about your friends what are they like?"
Tadashi looked at you this time pushing his hand through his hair, "There great, Honey Lemon just a ball of energy very positive, Wasabi extremely OCD, a clean freak, Gogo shes tough, independent, and Fred a complete geek when it comes to comic books, and is really funny, then my brother, a genius, but still has a lot to learn."
You listened taking your moves, picturing everything he told you about. He went on talking about his friends and life telling funny stories all the way until you yelled, "King me!" and he frowned.
"How did I not notice that move?" he asked himself. You mind multitasked going through multiply tactics to winning. Each move seemed to be formed by a series of outcomes. You chose the best and it took less than a couple seconds each time.
Were Tadashi paused to think for anything from a couple seconds to three minutes or sometimes longer. His talking faded as you had taken his second to last piece leaving him with one. He hadn't been able to take one of yours. All your pieces where mainly kings besides for you back line where all had not been moved preventing any chances for a kind on his part.
Sadly he was cornered every which way anywhere he moved you could jump him. He side in defeat, "You win."
Smiling you took the last piece putting it in the pile of red. "You wanna play again?"
"No I'm good how about monopoly?"
---
You won that game as well along with every other game after that. It was time to go back to bed by the last game was over. Tadashi looked at you as you walked back to the room. "You won every single game how is that possible?"
You shrugged as your climbed into your bed across from Tadashi. He did the same pulling the blankets to his chin, "Night (Y/N) he says.
You smiled slightly. You weren't tired but you knew Tadashi was. "Night Tadashi," You closed your eyes and thought of what the stars looked like. You thought Tadashi had fallen asleep until you heard him whisper softly.
"Night Hiro I'll be home soon."
You felt like crying for him, and his little brother. You couldn't imagine how Hiro must feel that his brother was gone. Suddenly to began to shake pained at the possibility that someone was out there missing you.
Although you couldn't remember any such family you still missed them. Turning on you back you opened your eyes looking into the darkness of the room. Beep, made its noices as your body went still. The shocks suddenly occurred.
You squeezed back a painful shriek, not wanting Tadashi to see it. It wasn't extreme it was just a small couple shocks from the sadness for Tadashi. It came and went leaving you feeling like you were baking.
The tears stopped falling eventually and the painful shocks stopped. Your heart pound and you told yourself not to think and to just sleep. Closing your eyes again you took small breaths. Why you? Why were you cursed with such a sickness, one that trapped your here, away from the stars, away from a family, away from love.
(A/N: Sorry its been forever still debating on continuing this story. What do you think?)
