☆Chapter 48☆

"DO WE TELL STORIES TO KEEP THE PAIN ALIVE?
IN FEAR THAT IF WE FORGET THE PAIN,
WE MAY FORGET OURSELVES?
OR DO WE SCRIBBLE TALES,
TO RELIEVE THE LOVE WE MADE,
IN FEAR THAT IF WE FORGET OUR LOVE;
WE WILL DIMINISH, WE WILL FADE?"

The BTS members were clustered outside Yoon Min's hospital room, buzzing with excitement and curiosity. The staff people were staring at them for their suspicious behaviour. Ignoring them, they just focused on hatching a plan together.

Yoongi crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

Seokjin sighed, rubbing his forehead. "No, but I'm counting on you guys. So please don't mess this up. And Jimin-" he pointed a warning finger at him, "Absolutely no flirting."

Jimin gasped, a hand on his heart as he pouted. "Jin hyung! I'm the embodiment of innocence. How could you..."

"Says the guy who flirts with his own reflection." Jungkook snickered from behind the huge bouquet of flowers he was holding.

Hoseok draped an arm around the oldest member's shoulder. "Relax, Hyung. You know how ARMYS call us part-time comedians? We will just be ourselves and make her laugh so hard that she will forget why she was upset with you."

"She is not upset with me, Hoba. She is avoiding me for certain reasons."

Namjoon interrupted, his eyes scanning his surroundings. "Let's just avoid breaking anything, guys. Hospitals are expensive."

"You are the only one who needs to be careful, God of Destruction!" Jungkook once again snickered. Maybe the bouquet was bothering him.

Taehyung, carrying a large box of unknown, asked worriedly, "Do you think she will like these? Maybe she will consider keeping them if I say I used to own these."

"This is going to be a disaster," Yoongi muttered quietly, shaking his head.

Seokjin ignored his chaotic members and announced, "Alright, guys. Showtime!"

It had been a week since Yoon Min was rescued from Baek Heesung's captivity, and the doctors had said she was recovering well. He needed to consult her doctor about her health since she wouldn't talk to him. He had visited her twice this week and found her asleep each time. By his last visit, he was convinced she was pretending to sleep to avoid him politely.

Her behaviour broke his heart. He needed to do something about her unnecessary guilt and bring her back to herself. And he was confident his members could help him with his wonderful plan. Now standing outside her hospital room, his heart thudded in his chest, unsure whether this plan would mend the rift between them.

Sliding the door open after a deep breath, he paused at the sight in front of him. Yoon Min was sitting up in bed, eyes focused on her phone. She looked healthier, most of her bandages were taken off and the marks were fading from her skin. The faint, familiar tune of his new song filtered through, enough for him to recognize it and feel a pang of pride.

When their eyes met, surprise flickered across Yoon Min's face, followed by the subtle tension that accompanied seeing him. Her cheeks flushed vibrantly as she froze in his presence. His throat tightened, but he forced a small smile, one that wavered at the edges.

"I know you don't want to talk to me right now," he said softly. The words felt like a bridge reaching across the distance between them. "But I brought some people you might want to..."

She opened her mouth to say something but he slid the door wider, revealing the rest of the BTS members crammed behind him, playful grins and eager eyes ready to meet her.

Seokjin stepped aside as the members shuffled into the room with a burst of life, a ripple of warmth and excitement following them. His eyes stayed on Yoon Min, catching the way her eyes widened, her lips parting as if she were gasping for air but unable to make a sound. Her fingers clenched the blanket, knuckles turning white, and for a moment, it seemed like she'd forgotten how to breathe.

"Hello!" Jimin was the first to chime in with his eye smile. They stood in front of her bed, their expressions shifting from excitement to surprise as they watched her eyes glisten, tears threatening to spill over. Her chest rose and fell in quick, uneven breaths, and her mouth opened as if she were going to speak, but no words came.

Then the tears broke free, rolling down her cheeks in trails. The silence turned thick with the weight of her emotion, making Seokjin wonder whether it was a good idea at all to bring his members. The others exchanged looks with each other, standing awkwardly.

"Uh...are you okay?" Namjoon asked, his brows knitting together with concern.

"Yes!" Suddenly realizing her tears and their attention on her, Yoon Min sniffled and hastily brought her shaking hands up to wipe her face. "Y-yes, I'm sorry!" she stammered, voice cracking, a laugh slipping out that was half embarrassed, half joyous. "I just...this is...I can't believe this..."

She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, then looked at them with newfound composure. "I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting you-"

The members exchanged relieved glances, their faces breaking into smiles. They stood firmly and did their traditional greeting by forming their fingers into a gun and then bowed, introducing themselves, "Hello. We are Bangtan Sonyeondan."

Yoon Min was grinning from ear to ear and pulled the blanket off her. She started to get down from the bed, followed by a chorus of concerned protests.

"You don't have to stand up!" Yoongi looked genuinely worried about her.

"I am fine! Don't worry!" she blurted, standing on her feet, tumbling a little though. It made Seokjin chuckle silently. She fixed her hair and bowed to them respectfully before greeting, "Hi, my name is Song Yoon Min. I have been an ARMY since 2019, which means I've memorized all of your songs, screamed at your concerts, virtually of course and practised your dance moves badly but with love."

She added, "I have survived comebacks, fan wars, theories, judgement and wallet crisis, but I regret nothing! I would've called myself your biggest fan, but that's a little over the top so you can just call me 'enthusiastically obsessed'..."

The members stared at her for a minute before breaking into chaotic laughter. Hoseok found her funnier than the rest because he turned to Seokjin and commented, "Hey Jin hyung, you did not mention she was funny!"

Seokjin did not know how to respond to that so he remained silent. He watched as Jungkook stepped forward, clutching the bouquet of vibrant flowers. His eyes were nervous, blended with shyness and enthusiasm.

"Hi, Yoon Min..." His voice sounded soft, a shy smile spreading across his face. "I brought these for you. Jin hyung said you might like lavender and tulip so uh...they're not as pretty as you, but they'll have to do."

Yoon Min's cheeks flushed as she accepted the bouquet with trembling hands. "Thank you, Jungkook-ssi. These flowers are beautiful, but I'm pretty sure I'll be staring at you more than them," she said, a playful twinkle in her eyes.

Jungkook's ears turned a faint shade of pink, and he chuckled, scratching the back of his head.

Namjoon stepped forward. "It's good to finally meet you, Yoon Min," he said with his rare dimple smile. "I've heard a lot about you from Jin hyung."

Her eyes widened in surprise, and she shifted slightly with the bouquet in her hands. She glanced at Seokjin for a second, as if she almost forgot about him. "Really?" Her voice was curious.

He nodded, his smile growing. "He does. And honestly, I can see why. You went through many traumatic experiences and lost pieces of yourself on the way. Perhaps your broken heart never quite healed. But you became stronger and kinder and wiser. That's something I really admire."

She looked down, blushing slightly. "It's because you inspired me so many times throughout my life. I've always looked up to you, Namjoon-ssi. Your words, your thoughts, and your lyrics healed me when I was broken and lost. It's an honour to speak to you like this."

The leader smiled, his gaze softening. "I'm flattered, Yoon Min."

Jimin walked up with his signature grin, his eyes sparkling with playful mischief. "Well, well, well," he said, placing his hands on his hips, pretending to assess her. "Jin hyung told me not to flirt with you but damn, what am I supposed to do when I'm in the presence of this much beauty?"

Seokjin rolled his eyes from the corner of the room.

Yoon Min's face lit up with a mixture of excitement and joy, clearly enjoying the attention. "I've waited my whole life for this, so please don't hold back."

Her response made Jimin shy as he smiled cheekily at her. "Well, Yoon Min, I have to say, I think I'm the luckiest guy here. Not every day I get to meet someone as pretty as you. I'm thinking...I might need to come by more often, just to make-"

"Park Jimin, stop right there before I smack you." Seokjin had to interfere.

The lead vocalist pouted and stepped back quietly, or should he say, dramatically.

Then Yoongi walked up to her with his usual calm demeanour, hands tucked into his pockets. "Hey, Yoon Min. It's good to see you," he said simply. "I heard you're recovering well. Glad to see that."

Yoon Min, still starstruck, took a moment to process his words. "I am honoured to meet you, Yoongi-ssi. I've always wondered how you do it," she began, her eyes brimming with sincerity. "You always remained strong even when the world was breaking you apart. I-I can't tell you how many times I worried about you, wondering if you were really okay, if you were taking care of yourself." She paused. "I'm so grateful you kept going even when things were hard. It means the world to me and to ARMYs that you stayed, that you love us enough to stay."

His eyes widened slightly, and for a brief moment, the stoic mask cracked, revealing genuine surprise. His expression softened further as he took a breath to steady himself and managed a small, touched smile.

"I-I'm sorry for rambling," she chuckled nervously, brushing at her eyes. "It's just...you mean a lot to me. Thank you for not giving up. Really."

He stared at her with a small smile. "Please don't apologize. Thank you for your kind words. It makes everything worth it."

For a moment, the room fell silent, an unspoken, mutual understanding shared between them. Yoongi seemed genuinely moved by her confession, considering the fact he was the only member who wasn't very eager to see her before. Maybe she changed his mind- she was good at it.

Next was Taehyung. His face lit up with his boxy smile as he stepped forward, holding that mysterious box in his arms. "Seokjin hyung said you might like these," he said, placing the box on the table beside her bed.

Yoon Min's eyes widened, and she let out an excited gasp as she peered into the box. Inside was a collection of colourful, adorable stuffed toys. "Oh my gosh, this is wonderful!" she exclaimed, her voice lifting with childlike joy.

He grinned, satisfied with her response and pulled out a fluffy plush kitten. "This one is called..." he thought for a moment before announcing, "Squishy Min!"

She giggled, eyes sparkling. He reached back into the box and held out a teddy bear, a snake plushie, a cosy blanket-wrapped penguin, and a stuffed puppy, followed by declaring their names. "This one is Cuddly Min. That one is Wiggly Min, look at its tail. Then we have Snuggly Min, who looks just like you, and this little guy is Blinky Min."

He then held out a spring-tailed kangaroo. "And look at this one! It's called-"

"Bouncy Min!" Both Yoon Min and Taehyung said it together.

The rest of the members' laughter bubbled up, filling the room. It was just like watching two children playing with their dolls.

Taehyung grinned. "They are part of your squad now, Yoon Min. They'll help you get better soon."

Seokjin, watching from the corner, shook his head with a mix of amusement and mock exasperation. "You've spoiled her, Tae."

Yoon Min, ignoring him, hugged Bouncy Min close to her chest, beaming up at the handsome member. "Thank you. This is the best gift ever."

It was at last that Hoseok stepped forward with an animated grin, his eyes sparkling. "Alright, Yoon Min, I heard you learned all our choreographies. Time to put you to the test!"

The room erupted into encouraging cheers. Except Seokjin. Yoon Min's eyes widened in confusion. "Wait, what!? Like...right now?"

He laughed, the sound infectiously bright. "Yeah, you said you practised them."

"I also said badly," she pointed out.

He waved a dismissive hand with a chuckle. "That's no excuse." Teasing, he gently took her hand and pulled her into the centre of the room. "Come on, let's dance."

Seokjin objected loudly. "Yah Hoba, that's not necessary. She is not fully well yet!"

Hoseok waved him off too. "Come on, Hyung, let us have this moment! She looks fine."

The other members circled around them to watch.

"Alright, which one should we dance on? How about Run BTS?"

Yoon Min's eyes widened in horror, lifting her hands as if to defend herself. "Run BTS?! Hobi- Hoseok-ssi, if I dance to that song in this state, the doctors will kick me out!"

The room erupted in laughter. Hoseok, laughing the loudest, clapped his hands at her reaction. "Okay, okay, fine. What do you suggest?"

"Permission to Dance?" she offered, giving a hopeful smile.

"Too easy. Come on, give me a challenge."

"How about Butter? Oooh, Black Swan!"

"Too easy, too easy...Ah, Fake Love! I'm so sick of this Fake Love, Fake Love" Hoseok started to sing on his own. "I'm so sorry but it's-"

"Cut it out. That's a hard one. Pick Dynamite," Yoongi suggested.

He shook his head. "Nope. I want something more classic."

After a moment of exaggerated thinking, Yoon Min and Hoseok both yelled at the same time, "Boy with Luv!" Their eyes met, and they burst into chuckles.

"Excellent! Are you ready?" he asked brightly.

Seokjin sighed from the corner, attempting again. "Don't push her too hard."

But the rest of the members ignored him, chanting, "Jung Ho Seok! Song Yoon Min! Boy with Luv!"

Yoon Min took a deep breath, the room buzzing with anticipation. "Ready to dance in front of my favourite artists? Nope."

As the members sang their parts of the song in the absence of music, she and Hoseok started dancing. Her movements, though a bit slower than usual due to her recovery, were filled with excitement and joy. She laughed as she tried to keep up with Hoseok's high-energy moves, and soon enough, Seokjin couldn't help but smile at the sight.

"Not bad!" Hoseok commented, giving her a playful twirl, messing up the choreography.

Then, as if on cue, the other members started jumping in one by one. Jungkook and Jimin joined first, adding their power to the routine, while Taehyung and Namjoon followed later, making it a playful dance party. Even Yoongi, couldn't resist joining in for a few moves. Yoon Min, her face flushed with excitement, was dancing with all the energy she could muster, a wide smile lighting up her face.

Laughter and shouts filled the room as everyone danced together, rolling their shoulders, making the bond between them grow stronger with each beat. For a moment, she looked like she was completely healed, the weight of her troubles lifted by the infectious joy around her.

Seokjin stood in the corner, watching the chaos unfold with a sense of pride swelling in his chest. This was exactly what he wanted- his members, surrounding Yoon Min with affection, filling her room with joy and light. He felt like he had made the best decision of his life.
